The room was in a good, clean condition however I was put into an adjoining room. Yes the door was locked, however when the gentleman came in at around 10.00 p.m. I thought he was actually in my room as the sound of his voice carried through. Not only that, every time he went to the bathroom, I could literally hear everything! He may as well have been in my room

Worst night away for a while….

Checkin experience was good. Breakfast experience was good. Unfortunately I was woken at 4 AM by the alarm on my door lock. It was incessant and didn’t stop until the battery died. Nobody was around to assist. I complained on checkout but no member off management team has reached out since.

Room didn't have a phone to call downstairs so every time we needed something we had to go down to get it or ask. Coffee maker had a moldy used coffee pod in it so I couldnt drink coffee my whole stay. Bathroom tissue holder was hand knitted and when I grabbed the toilet paper out of the holder silver fish bugs came out! Not the best location hotel either, taxi was $40 in any direction to get to the action. Only plus was the restaurant. Staff were super friendly music was awesome and you can sit inside or out and we didn't feel rushed.

The hotel was great but I had to leave early and they could not cancel my second night. They said it could only be canceled through hotels.com. That made sense and I tried to change my reservation online but it was confusing and didn't work out in the end. So we had to pay the $125 something for the second night for nothing.
I would love to talk to somebody at hotels.com about it.

Our stay was very pleasant and the room was spacious. There wasn't a restaurant but a bistro across the parking which was OK for us as we needed only a small bite.
Breakfast in the hotel was very good with a large selection items.

We requested a disabled room and I called them ahead of time to confirm this. However, we were booked into a ground floor room but there were no washing facilities for a disabled person. Every room in hotel has a high bath with shower attached so only for people able to step up into bath.

We stayed overnight on our way to Germany. Plenty of space to park. The room was very spacious, clean and modern. We didn't have any meals at the hotel, so we can't comment on that aspect.

I cant fault the hotel, the staff, the environment was great for my short stay, the breakfast provided everything I needed.

Although the hotel did not cater for evening meals I could use David Lloyd but there was not much within walking distance which I could find.

The only down side to my stay was my room was next to the entrance which of an evening with a large group staying was noisy.

Short pleasant stay

A little bit difficult to find with an out of date GPS, but not an issue. The hotel is what we expected. The only thing that I'd say we did not like was the interior lighting of the room. The lighting was dim and the room was a bit darker, giving it a less homey feeling than we liked. Otherwise, no issues...standard hotel.

Perfect overnight stop for business traveller

I needed a good quality hotel not far from Antwerp for an overnight stop. Very large room, clean bathroom comfortable, good wifi. Breakfast buffet was fresh with good range of hot and cold. Lots of parking and felt secure. The restaurant is in a David Lloyd complex across the parking. Not much in walking distance except an excellent brasserie/pub \"Brasserie De Sprecht\". Less than 10 minute stroll. Great beers and food was good. Perfect place for a one night stop passing Antwerp.

Arrived Sunday night the hotel looked fairly empty and quiet.come Monday things changed.this hotel hosts conferences in the actual hotel.for example you get up early go for breakfast and find several hundred people standing around with cups of coffee and orange juice at reception watching you eat your breakfast through the glass doors.i didn't like that even in the evenings the hotel lobby would be crowded with people until 22.00 - 23.00 unacceptable in my view .the rooms were clean and tidy everything worked and the bed was comfy and the air con system excellent .the tv stations on the other hand were poor .just a few channels and fairly boring content.breakfast was simple and expensive so keep away they charge 15euros for the pleasure.also I arrived late at night the first night so I was asleep at 9.00 and awakened by the cleaner who just wandered in!on the last day the cleaner even left my door wide open with all my belongings in clear view.not impressed with that either.all in all I wouldn't go back.pity it has potential if run correctly.

The rooms are big but having two single beds instead of a double is one of my pet hates. The single beds were not very big. The \"conference food\" we had was actually quite nice for this kind of thing and breakfast was decent. Hotel service not always quick. Please note this hotel is in the middle of nowhere, and there is no restaurant in the evening. I suspect during the day all that is available is conference food. It costs at least EUR 25 each way on a taxi to get to town, so bear that in mind.

Perfect stop off - top value and very comfortable.

I needed a place to lay my head for a few hours whilst on a long drive from the UK to Denmark - spacious, clean room and very comfortable bed; courteous and friendly staff, lovely breakfast and inexpensive. I didn't have the time to enjoy the facilities, but I would expect they'd be as good as those aspects I did have the pleasure to experience.

A Disaster for people needing internet

Perfect for our needss. Large room, English TV, channels, great jacussi bath, hot water, clean, comfy bed, great breakfast, huge car park at front. Free internet worked in the night but stopped working in morning. Spoke to reception who blamed my device! Then others complained of same problem. Poor mobille reception so own data unuseable and wifi only available in lobby. Staff refused to take any corrective action and told us to wait 2 hours for manager.

Nice Hotel, OK Location

Stayed 18th & 18th July 2015. Room and Hotel overall is spotlessly clean and staff very helpful. Contrary to the information available in the room, there is no restaurant on site (shame because it's reviews were fantastic) apparently it closed down quite some time go. 23-24 Euros for a taxi to Antwerp city centre but there is a couple of restaurants in walking distance.

The only negative to this hotel is it's location... It's set back in what looks like an industrial area and is aimed at business travellers / convention deligates (so completelty dead and lacking atmosphere over the weekend). Would definately stay here again though.

Great value, very convenient

I've been coming to Ter Elst for a few years now and it's typically my preferred choice of Hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome. The rooms are spacious and have recently been renovated. There's abundance of parking space available and it's free. And to top if off, the hotel is close to the E19 which makes it very easy to drive anywhere. Antwerp is only 15 minutes away. Even so, because the hotel is outside the major cities, it's nice and quiet so you get a good night sleep!
There's not a lot of negative to say about this place, however you might be fussed about some of the following.
Although breakfast isn't spectacular, it's very solid and will not leave you hungry. The gym next door is ok (and free!), but not very modern and could do with upgrades. The channels available on the television are very limited and certainly not targeted at Belgians as most commercial Belgian channels are not available (which I personally found very weird). And yes, the WiFi has a complex log-in mechanism that could really do with some simplification (hello Telenet!). You wonder why they bother because anyone in range of the WiFi is a hotel guest!
Final tip: make sure you grab a thicker pillow from the closet as the ones they put on the bed standard are so thing you will wake up with a sore neck :)
Having said that, a very solid hotel that I'm always happy to return to.

Great hotel for business and gym!

The hotel was great, good WiFi, fantastically equipped gym, restaurant onsite serves nice and not overly priced food, everything you need for a 1 night business stay. The only drawback was that later on in the evening there was a very noisy function and i happened to be in the room nearest to it! Everything calmed down around 11pm so didn't really disrupt too much.

Hotel was good with large clean rooms. Breakfast was good with hot and cold food, which is unusual. Bathroom was large with underfloor heating in the room I had. However, the hotel was also used for meetings so there were a lot of people in the lobby, which was quite noisy. I was also unable to use the hotel bar as this was only for the meeting that was taking place. All in all it was okay for an overnight stay.

On arrival told that their was some type of seminar on and so no bar or food available to guests. Had to travel to a nearby tennis club to even have a drink and bite to eat. The hotel is located approx 10km from Antwerp centre- 30euros taxi ride. Rooms and hotel very nice but couldnt sleep due to unidentified buzzing in room. Nice hotel but poor location and very poor service & communication.

Was there on business. Close enough to Antwerp to do some sightseeing, but very options for dinner in the evenings, especially on the weekend. Hotel restaurant was relatively expensive, but pretty good.
Rooms are spacious, very clean and functional.
Bring enough change: they don't have a mini bar and the vending machine in the lobby is the only way to get a beer or wine on the weekend.

The room was clean but needs to be refurbished, for example there were holes in the walls.
The breakfast was not manned well on the first day, for example the buffet had run out of bread. No staff around to inform.
The hotel tried to charge me for breakfast even though it was included within the booking.

Stayed several times - acceptable rather than desireable

If you need to be to the south of Antwerp there are really no other choices of this size and grade of hotel between the Antwerp ring and Mechelen. During the weekdays the service seems better than at weekends or holidays but it has still been acceptable at all times.
There are some points you need to be aware of:
1. Finding the hotel is tricky. It is actually very close to main routes but the entry, buildings and signage make it hard to get the right street. Suggest you make the effort to track it down with satellite views on webmapping services etc before you go. Otherwise you will be phoning the reception and getting them to talk you in and even then it remains tricky. I know the area well so have had no problems with this but agree with other reviewers about lack of prominent signposting.
2. The rooms are very large but furnishings sized for a normal size room so the rooms feel empty. But if you turn on all the lights the light level is actually much better than in many hotels.
3. Minor issues we have had include, a missing castor wheel from one of the beds feet. it was replaced the next day but on the first night a folded blanket had to be used to support the bed.; Belgian \"muggen\" mean fly screens on windows should be provided; Range of breakfast options is worthy of a 3 star not better; Never used the restaurant at other times so cannot comment on meals but these are not in the hotel building but in the sports complex the other side of the car park.

Very, very difficult to find, even witth GPS. The exit off the high speed highway is literally the width of small one lane driveway. Very strange. It does not appear to even be an exit, so be prepared to miss it. The hotel itself is not visible from the street. You have to drive in a laneway and then enter the hotel from that. The staff were very pleasant and spoke English. The included breakfast buffett was excellent. There is no air conditioning, but the windows open fully into the room. Very reasonable room rates. This hotel looks like it was a first class establishment when it was built.

Gute Unterkunft außerhalb von Antwerpen

Das Hotel liegt in Edegem, einem südlichen Vorort von Antwerpen. Das Hotel befindet sich etwas abseits an einem Sport- und Restaurantkomplex, Parkplätze sind reichlich vorhanden. Es macht alles einen guten und modernen Eindruck. Die Zimmer sind groß, gute Matratzenqualität, Klimaanlage, Kühlschrank auf dem Zimmer, ein paar deutsche TV Programme (ARD, ZDF, RTL-Gruppe). Einziges Manko ist eine Duschwanne. Es gehören mehrere Restaurants wohl zum Hotel, die aber zu sehr komischen Zeiten auf haben - das Konzept ist nicht einfach zu durchschauen und die Preise sind sehr hoch.

Für Fahrten nach Antwerpen City empfiehlt sich der Bus, der in etwa 1 km Entfernung abfährt, tagsüber nominelle 10 Minutentaktung. Der Verkehr in Antwerpen ist kein Vergnügen.

Personnel was friendly but they left a lot to be desired. We found the locker in our room closed with no possibility to open but to call reception, we had cleaning coming into our room unannounced, our paid for breakfasts wee not known to the restaurant staff, and so on. The carpet in our room was full of stains.

Very good hotel

I booked the hotel because it was conveniently close to an event we attended with my friend. It wasn't one of the cheapest, but we were very satisfied with the hotel in all aspects. Very spacious and comfortable room, good bed and bathroom, and the breakfast was good. Also friendly staff. I'll book the hotel again if I've a reason to travel to Edegem.

Goede service maar zeer warme kamer, en zeer veel geluidsoverlast.
Schuivende stoelen in aanpalende kamers, wc’s die je hoorde doorgetrokken worden, gesprekken op de gang en aan de balie waren allemaal te horen.
Kortom zeer weinig nachtrust gehad die continu verstoort werd.
