Palmera Inn and Suites was great for us. The California Loft gave me and my kids plenty of space. We were only there a couple of nights so didn’t use the kitchenette. Complimentary breakfast was excellent work something for everyone including my pickiest eaters. The pool area was as very clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. All of this at a reasonable price and just a 10 minute drive to the beach in Hilton Head, really can’t be beat.

The noises were one of the few complaints. The noise that the wall-ac unit had, was sporadic and quiet loud and disruptive. Central air is a major investment, but the wall unit is a real downer at night in sleeping hours.

The room was clean and bed was nice. Bathroom was nice too but it could use a \"night-light\". Many hotels have one. Also, every hotel I've been to in the last few years has soap dispensers (body, shampoo, conditioner) right on the shower wall tiles. A little soap bar wrapped in paper seems very \"old-school\" now. But it's not the worst thing.
Finally, while we generally enjoyed staying there, our first impression walking into the Inn halls was of a rather \"stale\" smell. We got used to it after 3 nights. The elevator was even worse. It wasn't that pleasant at all. Useful, yes, but not a good experience. It's not the best to have that the first experience before even entering the room. We had our fingers crossed tightly that our room wouldn't be as bad. But the room was nice. And it did not have that \"musty\" smell that the hall and especially the elevator had.
We'd come back. The price was a little high based on quality. Breakfast is a good thing to keep. Not spectacular but very well kept and more important to the guests than most hotels realize, imo.

It was nice to have the lofted room for extra space. Be aware the “lofted bedroom” only has room for a bed, no suitcase or clothes.

8 minutes away from Coligny Beach this hotel stay was great! The front desk and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful! The California King loft was a great room with the bonus of 2 full bathrooms a queen bed upstairs and a pull out sofa on the main level. We didn’t use but the kitchenette was well stocked and having a table to eat at was nice. The kids enjoyed the balcony and the pool. Breakfast was also exceptional- grits with shredded cheddar cheese, name brand yogurts, fresh pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, cereal and juices and coffee it had something for everyone. Pool area was clean and they have grill area with corn hole and a giant connect 4 game.

We picked this for our 2 night memorial weekend stay. It was so close to Hilton heads beaches it worked perfect for us!! Ample parking, a pool, luggage carts, nice room. Only thing in the queen bed rooms that sucks is the bathroom sliding door is terrible. Either it gets stuck and you have to try to get out or it doesn’t stay fully closed. Also the one bed is wayyy to close to the ac/heat thing. You basically hit it getting out of bed. Way too close to that wall. But full kitchen is always our go to choice and liked the stand shower. Wish we got a loft room though. The pool was nice with a hidden hot tub. Def gotta look for it. Said it closed at 10pm but we were in it well past that. Just needs more lights around when driving in. It’s way too dark and you can’t see anything when trying to get back to the hotel. Def need more lighting. But only 4-6 minutes drive or bike ride to the beach was perfect! We really enjoyed our stay and would return in the future!

If you like firm beds and lumpy pillows, this is ok for you. Very clean (only one dead bug). Stayed in California loft - it had 13? steps to bedroom loft. Two bathrooms well appointed. Very quiet even though full. Pretty pool, normal breakfast offerings. Would stay again.

This is a nice place to stay in Hilton Head. Centrally located with good amenities. It’s one of the best places we’ve ever stayed with our dogs. We were in a first floor unit that opened to a great little grassy area, perfect for our dogs. They even had a dog bag and trash station. It’s clearly dog friendly and there were several other dog families there too. The room was very clean and they had lots of lights and lamps. Many places we stay don’t have enough lights, but this place does. They also give you plenty of towels. Nice, clean, full towels. It’s a really good value. Oh, and the free breakfast is much nicer than what you typically find.

The hotel room itself was nice & big. The location of the hotel was very convenient & close to everything we wanted to be around.. Coligny, Sea Pines, etc. The hotel itself doesn’t offer room service unless you stay for longer than 5 nights which was a negative for me. We called front desk to at least ask for new towels & we were told to pick them up at the front desk.

It's the nicest hotel I have seen in a long time we booked a room about few years ago in Savannah that was just awful so this hotel was very nice did not see the hot tub but the pool was nice and clean they even have a grilling spot by the pool all set up rooms we're very clean no complaints

Pretty much a basic hotel. Rooms were a bit awkward, mine had a loft upstairs with the bed and a door leading to the roof that made it noisy. Lighting was horribly high intensity and the light on the staircase could not be turned off. Location was good and bad. Easy trail access for a ride/run/walk, but landlocked from the beach and only accessible with a drive.

Fabulous location! Beautiful magnolia trees, great for walking and even has a nice Thai restaurant within a few hundred feet from the hotel. I enjoyed the clean pool and loved my loft hotel room with the magnificent balcony. Having a full kitchen was wonderful. There is a complimentary breakfast available each morning as well. I will definitely return when in the area!

Booked a getaway for three nights, but unfortunately, it was a terrible experience for us. The first day the fans in the room did not work and I asked for maintenance to take a look at them and repair them as it was really hot outside, but unfortunately no one showed up on the second day when we got back from the beach we noticed that there was a lot maggots climbing on the walls, and it was very disturbing when we talk to the front desk again they were not helpful and didn’t do anything only on the last night when I had enough of this situation they finally gave me a second room that I could move into that was not infested or broken down overall horrible experience I would not recommend to book and I hope they get better customer service for the price that they are charging per night and they’re cleaning fees.

This was our second time here. The first was over 5 years ago. We loved the location as you are centrally located on the island and can access everything quite easily. It is an older facility but has been updated. The breakfast was good too.

Place was clean and well kept. One thing that needs help is the hot tub. I went in right after the pool/hot tub folks were done servicing it. The bottom of the tub was full of sand. The jet pump was worthless. Jumped in and jumped out.
The music plays from 9 AM to 10 PM poolside. I had a speaker right outside my room. Had to call staff to turn off the music well past 10 PM. Now if they only could change the 10-song loop, that replays every 25 minutes, that would be wonderful. I don't ever want to hear those 10 songs again.

The rooms are actually large and very clean. We were obviously there in off season and it was wonderful and quiet. We enjoyed the hot tub and it is about 2 miles from a beach access, which we had no problem going to or parking. It is close to everything and even has outdoor grills. Many food options are close. Clean room. Great value. The loft room was kinda weird. You have to climb stairs to go to bed. There is an annoying light on the stairs you can’t turn off so I piled towels in front of it. It would be good to bring some gaffers tape to fix it.

The breakfast in the morning was great always stocked and fresh.The cleaning crew was excellent they help with anything i needed.The pool and hot tub area was always clean and the only problem waa the hot tub on our last night wouldnt heat up but that was the only issue with that area. The only thing i had a problem with was one woman at your front desk that i checked in with and out with was very rude when i checked in and also when i went to the desk the next day to ask for some more coffee she literally rolled her eyes and had the nerve to act like i was bothering her.

We chose this hotel because it was labeled as “dog-friendly,” but our experience was far from welcoming.
Upon arrival, we walked into the lobby with our dog, Coopie, to check in and were immediately yelled at by multiple staff members. We were told that unless she was a service dog, she was not allowed in the lobby. While she is a service dog, the way this was handled was completely unprofessional and uncomfortable. We’ve traveled to many hotels over the years—both before and after she became a service dog—and have never experienced anything like this.
It’s important to note: this hotel being “dog-friendly” only seems to apply to having your dog inside the room—not in shared spaces—so keep that in mind if you’re traveling with a pet.
As for the hotel itself, it’s very basic and clearly outdated. The room felt neglected, with visible stains on the bedding, and the floors and bathroom did not appear clean. Overall cleanliness was a major concern.

Breakfast was OK but many other guests were awful (no fault of the hotel), with bare feet, skimpy pajamas, bad hygiene, coughing over food, and overall rudeness. I wish there was at least a sign that shoes are required in a place where people eat. Hot tub was out of service and pool was horribly dirty. Early in the season, so maybe it’s not part of their regular cleaning schedule yet. Overall, it was a good experience.

We were pleasantly surprised by this property- a great value for the price. Hotel has updated furnishings and decor and is immaculate. Breakfast very adequate. Site is set back from the road and surrounded by lush greenery so quiet. Pool needed to be skimmed our first day but it was taken care of by day two. Overall we are very happy with our stay and the amenities and plan to return.
