I personally don't like spending over five hundred dollars a night for the room and have to pay twenty dollars a night to park your car and all the chairs around the pool also have to be rented and paid , for which I just think is just ridiculous.

The breakfast buffet was absolutely fantastic, the outdoor restaurant above the pool was very good, the dinner was excellent.

All of the normal things: Clean room,, Staff, outdoor pool, Beach were excellent .

Communications were not so great. We "heard" you had to reserve a beach chair and that you could do it at the beach. So we went down and waited with another family for a long time. We called the number on the beach service sign finally got through to a very pleasant woman who said she would send someone over. That person never showed. So basically the beach, which the reason we chose you, was not available to us, we are not spring chickens and did not bring our own chairs like so many people did.
I suppose there was a solution, but it was hot, and by then we were frustrated, so the beach was a bust for us.
Also since you do serve "not-young" people , it would be nice if you either had a paper information sheet/magazine, or your on TV information would be more complete, especially when the remote did not work well and we had to hit the buttons several times to choose a site.
Very bummed out, will not recommend to others since
there are other choices available.

The room was clean and comfortable with all the items a traveler would need. There were a few concerns with the bathroom, including a towel bar next to the tub which kept falling off. It’s instinct to grab it to get out of the tub and it could present a serious injury if a person tries to use it to get out of the tub. In addition, the tub was very slippery which again presented the likelihood of a serious fall. Overall a lovely resort however.

We were very excited to stay here. Beautiful property, on the beach, a little hard to find, limited parking spaces… but the pool area was gorgeous. Check in was a wait. They don’t start until 4 pm and we arrived about 3:45 and got in line a bit hungry, thought we’d grab a quick pre dinner snack from the hotel market but it closed at 4 pm. So it felt like two strikes right off.
Very clean and inviting room. However our patio with a very nice ocean front view had black mold on the concrete and walls. It was a substantial amount. We couldn’t go out and enjoy it although we paid the extra to do so….. We contacted the staff, spoke with the concierge manager who offered to refund our parking cost($20.00 a day) and what did that have to do with this problem of mold on our patio? They also offered us Marriot Bonvoy points equal to a whopping $149.00) and in order to claim that we had to sign up…
Over all. For such a lovely place, we will not return and we do not recommend it. Go for a less expensive location with not so much “posh”
And yes, we ended up with allergy symptoms, which we don’t have , headaches, coughs, sneezing, etc. A follow up with our doctor and we are suffering from exposure to mold….

What used to feel like a relaxing, family-friendly destination now feels more like a crowded convention center. From the moment we arrived, it felt like guests were more of a nuisance than welcomed visitors. The atmosphere was chaotic, staff seemed overwhelmed, and there was very little of the warm, accommodating experience we remembered from previous stays.

One of the biggest frustrations was parking. Even valet parking — which we paid extra for expecting convenience — became a constant fight. It felt like regular guests were completely overlooked in favor of the large convention groups and bigger companies coming in. Multiple times we struggled just to access parking while conference attendees seemed to take priority for everything.

What made the experience even more frustrating was the constant introduction of random “new rules” throughout our stay. Policies seemed to change daily with little communication or consistency, making it difficult to relax or enjoy ourselves. It honestly felt like we were walking on eggshells the entire time, worried we were unknowingly breaking some new restriction.

The saddest part was that our kids genuinely felt unwelcome there. What used to feel like a place families could comfortably enjoy together now felt cold and inconvenient toward children and family guests. Instead of feeling relaxed and excited, our family constantly felt like we were in the way.

For the price and reputation, the experience was incredibly disappointing.

Clean and comfortable. Stopped for one night on travels home from Florida. Disappointed in room service menu and lack of options for GF as we arrived later and were too tired to go out. Also, coffee in room needs more than 2 pods. A LONG walk to the elevator as that’s not convenient in morning coffee shop open and was able to get coffee before heading home. Beds comfy as per usual. We didn’t get to see the beach or tour the hotel this visit.

My wife and I were excited to stay on the beach at Hilton Head and planned our vacation around this hotel. For the money spent, they did not read my notes requesting certain information. We found mold in the ice cubes from the machine on the floor. Rooms had a combo smell of bleach and mold as well. Shower was extra slippery with not mat to alleviate that. Room a/c was loud and did not hold the temperature set! In other words, an ice box. Morning breakfast buffet was sub par. Food was bland or cold. The Westin is one of Marriott’s high end properties. Not so on Hilton Head Island. Extremely disappointed with my choice to stay there. Choose another hotel and avoid these pitfalls.

We’ve stayed here many times in the past, but this was the first time since Covid. It’s still a beautiful hotel and they said by next summer, they will have even more amenities. The staff is always wonderful. This year, I noticed paint peeling, faded furniture, stains on carpet, etc. Seems like they’re overdue for some touchups, but hopefully that’s all included with their updates they’re expecting by next summer. The only dissatisfaction I had was the loud DJ during the day. It was impossible to sit on the balcony and relax. Even with the door balcony door closed, it was too loud to relax or watch tv without being able to hear it. We were on 3rd floor on the far opposite side of where the DJ was. Can’t imagine how challenging it was for guests that were even closer. They did turn it down a bit when asked, but it was blaring from I think 10am-4pm, which is a long time to not be able to enjoy the room. The first day we went to the beach to get away from it. The background music is nice by the pool, just way too loud. The live music in the evening was at a much better volume and more calm, so we could barely hear on balcony and couldn’t hear it with glass door closed. Otherwise, as always, we loved our stay. I’m sure we’ll be back again. It’s still one of our favorite hotels.

The resort was beautiful and clean. Great beach good food at the restaurants. The pools were cold and we were there mid April. The kids didn’t even want to go in the pools. They need to work on heating these pools. The front desk was severely understaffed, but they were super friendly. The elevators were down three times and our six night stay.

The hotel itself and grounds were impeccable. The bedding and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom in the room, however, had that 'dirty/sour wet rag' smell. No visible signs of dirt, but just that nasty smell that only bleach will eliminate. I would stay there again because the resort is stunning, but I'll bring some bleach next time.

We were extremely disappointed in the check-in experience. We arrived at 2:00 and we were told our room would be available in about an hour. Three hours later, our room was ready, but then it took another hour before they would inspect it. I had to complain 2 more times before a nice staff member, Madison, finally got it done, and we finally got in our room after 6:00, which is unacceptable.

We stayed 4 nights. We reserved two queen beds for 4 guests total and when we checked in they informed us that they had over sold their rooms and could only give us a king bed with a pull out couch. On our last day we never even received house keeping services at all. We had to ask for more towels, more toilet paper and shampoo/ conditioner every day. The fire alarms went off at 9 pm one of the nights and we had to evacuate. Elevators were not always working.

The pool and beach were beautiful. I do feel the rooms need a little face-lift, like repainting the doors and maybe up dating the bathrooms. Food was excellent! But the menu was small. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Property location is ideal for a perfect beach vacation. Service was extremely slow. Seems as though there wasn’t enough staff to accommodate all the guests on a busy week. Our room had amazing oceanfront views, however, when booking it said it slept 4 people and it did not. There was only one king bed and no sofa bed avail. Had to order a Rollabed for my two kids that the hotel said would be $25 a night. They said it wasn’t their fault due to booking through a third party website. Kind of frustrating way to start the trip.

We absolutely enjoyed it, and will be back. The rooms were cleaned everyday of our 5 day stay, the outdoor pool and lounge area was emasculate and pristine. The only issue we ran into was valet. The first night we chose to valet our car and the next morning, we were heading to get massages and the valet came back and said our car wouldn’t start. We instantly knew that whoever parked it didn’t turn it off properly or left a light on. They didn’t offer an apology, they relunctantly did arrange to jump our battery after we pushed them to do so. After the car started, we had no more problems the rest of our stay. We switched from valet to self parking and saved about $100.

Upgrades are great but as a person with disability i i was disappointed that there weren’t two ways to the pool, i had to walk so far i could barely make it, there needs to be 2 sides of hotel with access also i couldn’t enter the pool bc of all the steps and disability parking that was near my room . was valet only and that seems unfair when self parking is 20 bucks a night already. Way too much walking for a person just trying to get to their room. If you have no disability, it’s a great place

Oceanfront first floor room could see only the horizon of the ocean. I do not feel this should be priced as an ocean front, though of course there is no resort view from 1003 and that is good. First floor rooms should be priced lower due to not having a full view of the ocean due to dunes. The staff were friendly and the dining and bars were tasty. The sliding bathroom doors hurt my fingers and should be updated. Closet doors stick and the humidity is high inside even though we did not keep our sliding glass door open. I do appreciate the dark room with minimal electronics’ lights. Renting the firepit was a great way to share a relaxing evening. The valet staff were attentive and quick. The beach service of renting an umbrella and chairs are seasonal.

The staff had such positive energy and they were so helpful. The only thing that I would mention to other travelers is that there is a lot of walking, there are very long, narrow halls between rooms, so if you have issues walking, I would request a room on the first floor closest to the exits.

There were about 15-20 mosquitoes on our room ceiling. The hotel management didn’t respond up until 1.5 hrs after we complained. They refused to move us to another ocean front room which I had paid for. At least the guy who finally came in to help us was very nice. The rest of the management was not helpful at all

I visited this hotel for a getaway from Atlanta. My room (1041) was very clean and extremely comfortable. The staff were friendly, and the resort itself was beautiful. Windu and Haleem provided amazing customer service and truly stood out.
I appreciated that the hotel is dog-friendly, but I do wish I had known this in advance, as I was looking for a quiet place to relax and recharge. Unfortunately, a few rooms near mine left their dogs unattended, and I could hear barking and scratching at the doors for hours while I was trying to rest. It was very disruptive. I informed the front desk, but the issue was not resolved.
Overall, the property and staff were wonderful, but the noise from unattended dogs impacted my ability to fully relax. I dont think I will be back here again. Otherwise a beautiful place.

I don't really ever leave bad reviews for anywhere or anything because I know things happen but with the amount of money we paid for our stay, I feel I need to be honest about our experience. Overall the resort is beautiful and the marriage conference (Weekend to Remember) we were there for was great but that's where the praise ends. When we checked in and got to our room we noticed that there wasn't a remote. Not a big deal, but we definitely wanted one and called to request one. The lady on the phone at the concierge desk asked me if I was drunk and if that's why I couldn't find it. I work in addiction ministry and was not amused by her comment. She then said she would have one sent to us but it never came. When we got back from dinner that evening I went to the front desk and once again requested a remote. It finally came about an hour later. There are no vending machines but they do have a couple places to buy snacks and drinks although they close early so if you happen to be up late theres no option to purchase anything unless you go to the convenience store off the property. While walking to one of our sessions in the ballroom, we walked by a guest room with vulgar rap music BLARING. This was still going on when we went back to our room an hour later. Parking was absolutely ridiculous for the amount you pay to park there. Like I said, I wouldn't normally complain because I know life happens, but we paid about $1000 for 2 nights so I am very disappointed. Do better.

The accommodations are great, even in the off season. Most staff members are outstanding, especially the bellmen and room services. A singular front desk staff member can take their disdain down a notch when requesting a new TV remote in person, after I tried to call down with said request and was hung up on.
