I frequently travel to Hamburg for business and usually have positive experiences with local hotels. This time, I chose your property due to its proximity to the airport. Unfortunately, the check-in experience was the worst I’ve ever encountered in Hamburg.

When I arrived, the receptionist, Ceryna, was extremely impatient and, frankly, rude. The check-in form was in German, so I politely asked for assistance. Instead of helping, she gave me a nasty look and impatiently pointed to the sections I needed to fill out without offering any real support.

My room number was above 280, and I couldn’t find it initially. When I returned to the front desk for help, she curtly claimed she had told me to turn before taking the elevator — something she never mentioned during check-in. She was clearly annoyed by my question and made no effort to hide her frustration.

To make matters worse, I observed that she treated the next (Caucasian) guests far more pleasantly, which made the whole interaction feel even more uncomfortable and unwelcoming.

That said, I would like to commend the two gentlemen who handled check-out the next morning. They were professional, friendly, and even offered information about the shuttle service — a stark contrast to the check-in experience.

I would appreciate knowing what standards of customer service your hotel upholds and under what circumstances it is acceptable for a staff member to treat a guest the way I was treated.

Lovely room, very roomy, clean and comfortable. Hotel staff helped us more than once when we had trouble figuring out the lights in our room. Wait staff in restaurant were friendly and helped us get a good seat, when they saw how short I was, so I wouldn't have to climb into a high table seating.

We had an early flight departing from Hamburg Airport and loved the shuttle service. Plus if we had missed the shuttle, we could have easily walked to the airport which was a nice backup plan. Staff was courteous and the room was very quiet despite being so close to an international airport.

Wonderful hotel very close to the airport, great for a night stay especially if your flight is early morning. Breakfast stars at 6:30 and it was fantastic. Our suite was large and very clean. Only complaint is that the dining options were limited (either room service with a few options, or a 36Euro/person buffet. That might work great for some, but we eat very light in the evening, and not keep on paying over $100 Euro for dinner. The pizza we ordered was terrible, probably worst pizza we ever had. I guess not a good idea to order pizza in Germany. LOL

I tried to order room service, but the kitchen did not have pizza dough ready at 5 pm, and was told it wouldn't be able to get my order until 7 pm. Also the snack shop had very limited items and a lot of the drinks were not stocked. Reception personell was friendly and efficient and had a room ready for me before the 4 pm check-in time.

The room was dirty and moldy. The fridge was broken and complained several times then they switched room and the fridge was broken in the new room. I had to dispose of $8500 in medication that required to be chilled. The shower was dangerous as it has this crazy drain slop and it was slippery. Room service came and different times of the day as early as 10 and if you were not ready then they skipped you for the day. And the noise my god the noice. I am not sure if they were remodeling over night but all the banging and furniture movement over night was insane! Just as insane as them shampooing carpets at 0700 in the morning in the hallways with this super loud industrial cleaner. The restaurant has super limited selection for food and the prices were crazy expensive. Certain good you could only eat in the restaurant then if you wanted a burger then you had to eat it in the bar 2 feet away! The parking cost me 179 euros but if you stay one night you can park there for 14 days no or free if your flying out. We booked for the amenities such as the pool but no pool it was under construction. Very very disappointed in this. NOT Marriot quality by any means. They should be ashamed to have there name on this hotel.

It was okay! But fell a bit short of my expectations for a 4 star hotel

Clean room and basic amenities there. But it just didn't feel 4 star. No one to help me carry my heavy bags in (not like I need it, but other hotels snatch my bags from me)

Corridors seemed dark and maybe slightly eerie at night. Pillows too soft. Upon request for harder pillow it was not available

Counter staff were super polite and awesome and helpful. Bathroom was also well equipped albeit small

Great rooms and convenient to airport…

We loved our short time at the hotel. My wife said it was one of the nicest rooms we’ve ever had as a family as it was so spacious and well equipped with all that we needed. Appreciated the tea and coffee making facilities and very comfortable beds…great quality sofa bed for our son. We had dinner in the restaurant and while it was of good quality the portions were very small considering the price. This was our only negative of our stay. The free shuttle service to the airport was great on a very wet morning. We wish that it was located somewhere that we would holiday in rather than just an overnight stay for a flight.

We asked for a 1 bedroom suite but we were given a suite that loked like a long boardroom with a bedroom at the end. It looked nothing like the pictures on your website. And we were expecting a bathtub but the bathroom had shower only. I am not sure who is responsible for the room descriptions, Expedia or the hotel, but we rely heavily on accurate pictures and descriptions, when we choose a hotel, and we often pay more money to get what we want. So to pay more yet not get what we are expecting is very frustrating

This was the best stay we ever had in any hotel in Hamburg we stayed before. We have been in our hometown more than 30 times since we left Germany.We are born in Hamburg and stayed mostly in downtown Hotels before. This Marriott at the airport was the best. Service, cleanliness, and quiet room , good bathroom, with a good small fridge and spacey seating area made it feel homey. We were surprised being at the proximity of the airport there was no noise from planes starting or landing due to excellent soundproofing. The complaints about instant coffee ---- we purchased coffee bags ( like teabags) to make our morning coffee in the room.
Also to mention the excellent transit connections from this location( bus, Hochbahn, S Bahn.
We will stay with Marriott Courtyard again when we come back to Hamburg.

Also their swimming pool closed for sometime, not
mention in reservation page.
Prices were very high, and in the top of this we were
overcharged for a beer.
The only good thing was a quiet location of the room

Quiet despite being very close to the airport. Handy when you have a very early flight to catch. Only slight issue is that the airport shuttle only leaves every 30 minutes (and only has 8 seats) so you need to make sure you catch it (ours actually left 5 mins ahead of schedule - luckily we were among the 8 people that made it)

Definite yes!

This was a perfect place to stay as a family upon arrival from the US with lots of space to spread out. It was a quick walk from the airport and train station, and they had underground parking as well. Breakfast was plentiful and all the staff was welcoming. We would stay again upon returning to Hamburg.
