Property needs some general upkeep and clean up around the grounds. Rooms were fine but lacked any extras. Beds were comfortable, with different pillow options. We had to request and pay for a coffee station that only included 2 instant coffee packets for a 4 day stay. Courtyard was nice, but messy and apparently right next to a staff use area that had constant noise from some sort of carts being pushed back and forth. This started very early each morning. No air-conditioning, which you understand with older buildings, but there were also no fans. Our only option was to open the door and windows, which brought moths and bugs in. Staff was borderline rude. Made no effort to be helpful and acted put out when we asked questions or for more coffee packs. Also asked us to leave at 5 minutes past the alloted breakfast time when we were sipping our final coffee and finishing the last bites of food. Paid breakfast was great the first day we were there, when they had many guests (a weekend that included some sort of large reception). The following days, the food was cold and not refilled (during the week when less guests were there). The showers in the 2 rooms we had were horrible. Incredibly small openings, large step up, and nothing to use to support yourself climbing in and out. All 4 of us, of various ages, sizes, and fitness, felt unsafe and dreaded using them. Hotel was wonderful and indeed with good service. However, reception had issues seeing that I had already paid for the room (pre-pay redeeming two free nights). I had to look for the receipt in the app and pass this on. No harm - this is what happens - but I was surprised that this even happened. First time in more than 10 years I have experienced this. Suggest Hotels.com check up with the hotel on this so that it does not happen to the next guest paying via Hotels.com.

I stayed here with my husband and two children on our trip to Hamburg.

This property was an absolute treat!

The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and friendly.

The bed rooms were quiet, beds were extremely comfortable, and the pool and sauna were amazing.

We had a wonderful time.

Hot in June

Hotel was overall good but did not have or did not tell us about an elevator and the room had no AC. The June temperatures were 30 - 33, but it did cool off nicely at night. The thatched roof is neat! There is a very nice trail to walk on.

Reboot of hotel (opened in spring). Quiet, pretty location a bit off the beaten path, in nice residential area bordering forest and overlooking small river (Alster) lock. Good restaurant (which also serves as event venue) serving traditional German food with outside seating. Short drive to great mall Altertal Einkaufs Zentrum (AEZ) with excellent shopping and decent food options.

Wir hatten wieder einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt, leider diesmal nur für eine Nacht. Im Restaurant hervorragend genossen und neue Kreationen entdeckt und sehr zuvorkommend und nett umsorgt worden. Die Zimmer sind toll, sauber, bequeme Matratze und sehr gepflegt. Auch das Frühstück kann nur gelobt werden, einfach alles da. Joghurt, frisches Obst, Eier, Speck, Aufschnitt, einige Brote und Brötchen, Fisch, Salate, frische Croissants und süße Teilchen. Besonders zu empfehlen, die selbstgemachten Marmeladen - ein Traum. Auch die Damen die das Frühstück betreuen, so nett, so herzlich, so hilfsbereit, da merkt man, dass in diesem Hotel die Chemie stimmt und das Team toll zusammen arbeitet. Vielen Dank, wir freuen uns auf nächstes Mal.

Det meste var godt, men både ind- og udtjekning fungerede dårligt. Vi stod ved indtjekning og ventede 8-10 min., mens receptionisten talte i telefon. Der var masser af personale, men ingen kunne hjælpe med indtjekning. Ved udtjekning stod vi 7 mennesker og ventede 10 min. på at få lov at tjekke ud.

It was a very Nice hotel, clean and Nice people there.

Only problem for us was with the food. We have gluten and milk allergy and there was no information on the food what the food contained. And bacon is often a thing we always can eat but after eating and i was going to Get more, i saw gluten bread under all the bacon! So the bacon had gluten and i did not Get any information about this. I told them about the allergies. So i hope the stagg can learn more about allergies because this is very importen when you serve people food. Q

Für den Preis in Ordnung. Die Zimmer müssen allerdings besser gereinigt werden. Das ist nunmal das A und das O und da gibt es auch keine Ausreden. Spinnweben, Schlieren, Flecken auf dem Teppichboden.

Very old and nice building that is now a hotel with beautiful view to the small river. Breakfast was really good. Pool area was nice and good place to relax. I can find only one minus that i already knew while a was booking this. There is no AC in the room so summer time in can be hot.

Charming but outdated hotel

Very kind staff but sould insulation of room was not good. This combined with other guest with big barking dog until very late + early was not optimal. Also smashed insect on wall + many hairs (of various colour) under top mattresses. Finally the wall-to-wall carpet was old and unfresh. Good parking and nice location in a park/forest.

En hele vejen igennem god og positiv oplevelse. Gode parkeringsforhold, God modtagelse, fin service, lækkert poolområde og skønne omgivelser. Tæt på indkøbsmuligheder (5 min i bil). Lækker restaurant, enkelt sammensat menukort, høflig og god betjening og god mad. Værelset var pænt og rent. Idyllisk sted og helt sikkert et besøg værdigt. 30 min ind til Hamburg midtby.

Wir waren nur eine Nacht aber hat alles super funktioniert.

Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen.

Das Hotel ist aufgrund der Bauart hellhörig, was uns nicht gestört hat.

Es war alles sauber und gut eingereichtet.

Die Betten sind bequem und das Personal sehr nett und Hilfsbereit.

Aufgrund der etwas abgelegenen Lage ideal um runter zu kommen.

Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Skønt hotel. God betjening. Lækker morgenmad.

Skønt sted, mega rart personale. Pænt og rent, lidt et \"eventyr\" hotel, mest udefra og i restauranten, værelserne var ikke lige så eventyrlige, men ganske fine.
Vi overnattede en lørdag, hvor der var selskab i underetagen, vi sov på 2. etage, men alligevel var det tydeligt at hører musikken. Det gjorde ikke os så meget, vi var bare trætte og klar til at sove.... også fra festen nedenunder. Morgenmaden var helt fantastisk. Vil bestemt komme der igen.

Auch wenn das Wetter nicht ganz optimal war, Die Anlage des Hotels ist Spitze. Auch das Frühstück entsprach unseren Erwartungen. Als eigenen Fehler müssen wir das haustierfreundliche (Hunde) Objekt bewerten. Leider hat die hellhörige Unterkunft die Qualität des Aufenthaltes sehr beeinträchtigt. Auch , dass in unserem Zimmer , ebenerdig, nur Frischluft über die Schiebetür zu erzielen war, entsprach nicht unseren Vorstellungen. Das Personal war aber sehr freundlich, besonders früh zum Essen!
