Good hotel, convenient for my meetings. However room was very hot and changing the thermostat didn’t seem to cool it down and you can’t open the windows because of the train noise!!

Loved the location as it was close to the train. The room was so small for 3 people. The pull- out couch was like sleeping on a rock. The shower stall seriously needs a door or curtain. Water was everywhere and we had to use our towels to keep from slipping on the wet floor. TV should at least have 3-5 choices of English-language channels.

Comfortable rooms - issues with airconditioning
The ibis Styles Barmbek is located across the road from the Barmbek station and a 5 minute walk to the local shopping centre. The rooms are of a good size however the airconditioning system is inadequate to cool the rooms. The first room we were allocated was at the back overlooking the railway line and was very hot due to the airconditioner not cooling the room. Spoke to front desk who offered either a key to open the window overlooking the railway line or some form of evaporative cooler. We declined and moved to a room at the front of the hotel that was a bit cooler. Overall this room's airconditioner was no better being unable to maintain a steady temperature. Clearly this hotel was not designed to cope with warmer days and encouraging guests to open windows exacerbates the problem by putting the system out of balance.

I stayed here for 8 nights as a single person in a double room at the end of May / beginning of June.
First the Good: Everything new, modern, and clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower had great water pressure. Coffee, tea, and water were available in the restaurant from 6 am to 10 pm for free.
The not so good: Small room, no closet for clothes and even the wardrobe-like installation didn't come with any hooks or drawers. There was no coffee maker, or even an electric water kettle to make coffee or tea in the room. The safe was so small that it only could hold my passport, but nothing bigger - so don't think it would hold your tablet or laptop, which nowadays nearly everyone has with them. And the so called air condition was not very efficient. I had to let it run full power for the whole day in order to be able to sleep at a reasonable temperature. What a waste in energy.
Summary: This may be a good accommodation for 1 or two days, for a single person from late fall to early spring. For couples and/or longer stays and / or during the summer time I cannot recommend this hotel.

Right next to the train station and interchange for several lines, however that is the property's problem, the train can be very loud and the rooms are a little small. Otherwise the property isn't bad for a budget place to stay in Hamburg especially if you're just transiting through.

The double bed was on the hard side & the sofa bed was very hard.
The room was only just big enough & we had to walk sideways to get past the sofa bed to the bathroom.
The treats for not having the room cleaned didn’t turn up but I got them after asking.
The water dispenser is the breakfast juice dispenser, so had to fill up between diners.
The shower & split bathroom were good, as was the internet.

On the listing for this hotel, they advertise central heating and air. However when we arrived at the hotel and found our room was stuffy and really warm, we tried to turn down the AC ourselves (there are controllers in the room). However, the room wasn't getting cooler. We opened the window, but our room faced out onto the train tracks and the noise made us want to keep the window shut.
When we went down to reception to ask about the AC, they told us that the staff control the AC, guests don't. I think it's extremely misleading to claim there's central air and heating AND have AC controllers in the room but guests don't actually have any control over that. It should really be taken off your listing.

Fantastic choice of accomodation
Thoroughly enjoed the stay at this Hotel. All staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and professional. The Restaurant is a real bonus with excellent breakfasts, coffee and perfectly adequate dinner choices. Rooms are super comfortable. Location is a stand out. Close to trains, buses and local shops- a five minute walk. Staff are able to communicate in English and Deutsch. Quiet part of Hamburg and local food markets just across the road. Many thanks.

We arrived at the hotel in a downpour at noon to ask whether we can leave our luggage, and were very happy when told that our rooms are ready for use already. The receptionist was very cheerful and efficient and we enjoyed the breakfast the next morning very much.

Parking spaces are very limited and often unavailable after 6 PM. The same goes for street parking. Don’t come by car! The hotel is quiet, and the personnel is very accommodating. The breakfast buffet is very extensive. The hotel is located right next to a major subway station. Great location!

Wir waren in diesem Jahr das zweite Mal in dem Hotel. Die Anbindung zur U und S Bahn ist sehr angenehm, weil sehr gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Das Hotel ist für unser Ansprüche top. Wer beim Frühstück nichts findet ist selber schuld. Wenn wir wieder in Hamburg sind, wäre das Hotel unser erstes Wahl.

Entgegen der Mitteilung durch das Check-in-Personal gab es einen Room-Service mit täglichem (nicht erwünschtem, weil nicht erforderlichem) Handtuch-Wechsel, möglicherweise als Reaktion auf meine Bewertung des Check-in. Die beim Empfang dreifach überhöht berechnete Kultur- und Tourismustaxe wurde auf meine Reklamation hin reduziert auf die tatsächliche Höhe.

6 Monate vorher 3 Zimmer gebucht ,mit der Bitte : nicht am Aufzug ,am Ende vom Gang. Die Bitte dann nochmal 2 Wochen vor Anreise geschickt. Wo lagen die Zimmer ? Alle 3 am Aufzug. Rückfrage an der Rezeption : Tut mir leid,wir sind ausgebucht . (Standardspruch?) Auf mehreren Portalen waren noch mindestens 5 Zimmer verfügbar, also glatte Lüge . Absolute Ignoranz. Zum Glück sind die Türen dick, man hört keine Geräusche vom Aufzug und andere Gäste auf dem Flur. Insgesamt ,wir kommen wieder weil das Hotel eine tolle Anbindung mit der S-Bahn hat und man in 15 Minuten stressfrei in die Stadt kommt.

Das Zimmer war mit Blick auf die Bahnschienen, wo alle 5 min.ein Zug vorbei gedonnert kam. Es war dermaßen laut, das man den Ton im TV nicht verstehen konnte. Schlafen bei geöffnetem Fenster war nicht möglich. Alles andere wie Zimmer und Frühstück war sehr gut.

Praktisches Hotel am U/S-Bahnhof Bermbek
Hamburg Barmbek ist praktisch. Es ist etwas übersichtlicher als in Bahnhofsnähe und trotzdem gibt es eigentlich alles, wie ich finde. Das Museum für Arbeit und seine Umgebung fand ich gut und auch die Geschäfte rund um den U/S-Bahnhof von dem man schnell in Hamburg rum kommt. Klar hört man die Züge im Hotel. Aber mich hat es nicht um den Schlaf gebracht (vielleicht Glück mit der Lage gehabt). Das Zimmer für eine Person super in der Größe und vom Komfort. Ein kleiner Kühlschrank wäre im Sommer nicht verkehrt!

Hotel ist gut erreichbar via S-Bahn und U-Bahn und liegt verkehrsgünstig. Von der Vorderseite des Hotels ist kein Lärm von den Schienen zu hören. Die Zimmer sind praktisch und einfach gestaltet und waren sehr sauber.
Der einzige Knackpunkt ist das Personal, dass häufig etwas hilflos wirkt und bei Rückfragen zum Teil etwas überfordert war.

Ett trevligt hotell med ett fåtal parkeringsplatser undertill, beläget i ett område med många restauranger i närheten. Dock fick vi ett rum lot baksidan där tåg och pendeltåg passerade väldigt nära i en sväng, så det var mycket oväsen hela natten. Speciellt som vi hade fönstret öppet.
Dock störde det inte oss, som kan sova överallt, men är man känslig så be om ett rum mot framsidan.

Sehr guter öv Anschluss, nettes personal. Man kann selbst entscheiden ob man sein Zimmer reinigen möchte. Die Idee mit den Gummibärchen fand ich klasse. Gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Ich habe die Züge weniger wahrgenommen auch bei offenem Fenster. Kaffee und Wasser gratis 😊hoffe das bleibt so. Für die Aufbewahrung der Koffer habe ich nichts bezahlt

big typical Ibis hotel, very close to the S1-bahn and stadion Barmbek, good correspondance to the central Station and the airport. Also U-bahn there. Hotel has a nice bar/restaurant, reception 24/7, and the rooms are nice with good beds. The windows can be opened, but my room had the S1-train so close that the sound was terrible, ok with closed Windows. No fridge or water heter. Breakfast ok, but very expensive, 18 Euro extra. Some nice restaurants, bars and cafes in the neighbourhood. I can recommend the pipular turkish NAAN. Without the trains it is a quiet district, not far from a big park. Barmbek is not the place to visit as a tourist i Hamburg though, but a good central stopover, 15 minutes from both airport/Flughafen and the central Station (hauptbahnhof)

Ich habe nur für zwei Nächte ein einfaches Zimmer gebraucht und war vollkommen zufrieden. Sehr sauber, sehr ruhig, super bequemes Bett! Lage ist auch toll mit U- und S-Bahn direkt gegenüber, easy Anbindung zu diversen Sehenswürdigkeiten und zum Hauptbahnhof. Zu Service und Frühstück kann ich nichts sagen da nicht genutzt, aber ich würde auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Nur das \"Fitness\" war leider sehr überschaubar mit nur drei Geräten und keinerlei Platz für Yoga o.ä., fand ich für zwei Nächte aber auch nicht schlimm.
