Horrible - Bauarbeiten fangen um 7 Uhr an.

Eine Baustelle direct vorm Hotel. Die Bauarbeiter fingen punk 7 Uhr morgens an zu arbeiten. Hätten wir das gewusst hätten wir nie dieses Hotel gebucht! Dazu kam das es so heiss war und es weder eine Klima anlage oder einen Fan gab. Dadurch mussten wir mit dem Fenster offen schlafen wodurch wir natürlich alles draußen hörten angefangen mit dem Hauptverkehr der um 5 Uhr morgens los ging. Auch mit Fenster zu war die Baustelle zu hören. Der Boden, die Türen, alles knirschte und war alt so das wenn einer Aufstand, der andere sofort wach wurde. Die Alster kann man kaum sehen durch die Riesen Baume.

The hotel was aesthetically beautiful but it was incredible loud. Likely because of it being a listed building with wooden floors. The people or person in the room above mine stopped around so I had to sleep with earplugs in. Breakfast was good nice but nothing outstanding about it. The coffee was terrible

The suite was a great size for our family of 4 (kids aged 11 and 14). There is a sun room off the main bedroom with a good size pullout sofa bed, big enough for the two kids to share, and it was nice that the kids had a separate room and space for there things. Bathroom was very large as well. I wish there was AC as it got very stuffy in the room (the cleaners kept shutting the windows), but fortunately there were lots of windows to let in fresh air during cooler nights. Overall, very nice choice of room for our family, and nice area to stay in with easy bus access.

Gorgeous characterful boutique hotel

Gorgeous characterful hotel - the perfect blend of period features and modern comfort! We booked a standard double but must have been upgraded because we had an additional living room. The hotel is beautiful and has won an award for the most beautiful staircase in Hamburg. The breakfast was excellent and the service faultless. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again if I return to Hamburg.

The rooms in this hotel are outstanding. They have been refurbished. Theist comfy bed I’ve slept in, in a hotel. Was superb. Only downside is the restaurant and reception isn’t upgraded yet but it’s still fab. The views over the lake are also great. I would recommend this hotel

Umbau bei Buchung nicht ersichtlich gewesen. Nur2*

Die Fotos stimmen überhaupt nicht mit der Realität überein. Die Zimmer sind in einem sehr alten Zustand. Das Hotel war eine reine Baustelle. Der Blick aus dem Fenster war zwischen 2 Wänden wodurch das Zimmer sehr dunkel war. Mit 4 Sternen hat dies nichts zu tun. Beim Frühstück gab es keine Heißgetränke wie zb Café Latte. Lediglich nur Filtercafe.
Der Aufenthalt war nicht zufriedenstellend und hat meine Gäste die ich in das Hotel eingeladen hatte total enttäuscht. Schade

We had a very nice room. There was no easy way to get into the hotel a good many steps had to be climbed to get to the lobby and with women traveling alone suitcases are very heavy.

Once the hotel is done with renovations this will be a beautiful property we are sure ~ until, it’s fairly rustic. The day staff is wonderful, the lake view is unbelievable, and the area is quiet/safe. If you are comfortable with rough astetics and basic ammenities, the lake access point is wonderful.

Renovations not indicated until booking was firm!

Room was under renovation. After I confirmed the room which didn’t allow cancellation, I received an email stating the hotel was under renovation.

The room was nothing like in the pictures and I found out that the rooms shown were renovated rooms. When approached the staff, there were no new rooms left.

The room was high and there was no AC. It was warm in the evening and gets uncomfortable in the evening.

Of all the hotels I’ve stayed in Hamburg, this was one I enjoyed least.

Breakfast was ok. Location wasn’t the best. No shops nearby. Had to walk a distance.

Room floor was not very clean and was dusty presumably because it’s a hard floor without carpet.

The Hotel Alsterblick is an excellent facility with very responsive staff. We loved the location across the street from Lake Aussen-Alster. It's convenient to many excellent restaurants between the Central Train Station and the hotel. The walk around the lake (7.5 km) can't be missed.

Full of character on Alster

While the entire building is still in renovation (no surprise, you are warned by the hotel), the newly renovated rooms are really smart with high quality made-to-order furniture. . Some of them are really huge (I even enjoyed a free upgrade!). Location is one of the best in town and you may even find free parking spaces on the surrounding streets as well as good public transport links. (Temporary) lack of hotel facilities (bar, restaurant) are wildly compensated by the positive points above and the included in price breakfast is very good as well.

The hotel is beautiful, well it will be in future. Nowadays they are making maintenance work, so that the view is very poor, it’s loud, it’s not comfy at all. Specially they forgot to put a proper curtain on the bathroom window, as the workers can totally see you. Wait until the work is completed to visit the hotel, otherwise you will regret your stay in Hamburg,

I was very surprised that the room did not look like the one advertised in the picture and on the web.
The entire hotel was under construction and looked terrible. I received an e-mail after I had booked the hotel saying that they apologize for any inconvenience, but I had not idea at all about the extent of the construction and the age of the building and the appearance.
I should have been advised right away of the extent of the construction, so that I could have chosen another hotel.

Lovely hotel across the street from Lake Alster

Parts of the hotel is under construction for renovation and we had been previously informed about this.
The 3rd floor, where we stayed, had already been completely renewed. We enjoyed the comfortable, warm room. The staff were very friendly and warm. The breakfast was very satisfying. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience..

The 20m2 rooms are quite small, little space for a large suitcase and small bath. On my second stay I got a free upgrade to a larger room with couch and bathtub, which was fantastic! great high ceilings and good breakfast.

Great location/building, disappointing service

The location of the hotel is lovely, right on the lake, and the building beautiful. My room was large, well appointed, with period features and very clean. I loved the old lift, still at its 1910 state!
However the service was disappointing in several ways. The reception staff was not the friendliest, and one one occasion I was ignored for 10 minutes, without even a glance or a \"I'm sorry, I will be with you shortly\".
I filled the form in the room requesting for extra amenities, I received only 2 out of 3 of them.
Breakfast started at 7 (already it's quite a late start, especially if one has business appointments) but actually the buffet was never fully ready before 7.10-7.15.....so I had breakfast every day accompanied by the noise and bother of the buffet being sorted, and having to get up multiple times to fetch the various items arriving late.
Definitely a bit shoddy for a 4-star hotel of that price.
All in all, definitely above average, but not up to expectations

Lovely hotel on the Alster

We booked this hotel for short break in Hamburg and wanted to stay fairly central but still have a nice view. The location is great - the bus stop is a few minutes walk but a 20 minute stroll along the Alster also gets you right into the city centre.

The hotel room was comfortable and quiet and a nice mix between the older tradition building and modern fixtures and fittings. The room wasn't overly spacious but was more than adequate for a short break. Breakfast was good with an adequate range of foods available including some vary pretty and delicious cupcakes.

The only reason we didn't give the hotel a 5 rating was due to the fact that when we arrived the man on the desk although friendly was not a regular member of staff and after getting me to fill in the form simply gave us the key and told us to go to the third floor. The hotel as an old fashioned still lift with a key to operate and it would have been nice to be given some help. The receptionist on check out also was not overly friendly - I would have expected to be asked if everything was ok or something rather than simply handed the bill. Language was not a problem as I speak fluent German.

Another small issue we had was that the bar/bistro was closed on Saturday due to a party and there was therefore nowhere for us to enjoy a drink before going out which we would have liked to do as we were meeting friends at the hotel for dinner.

This is a very nice hotel with really good staff. The room was fantastic, it was very spacious and immaculate. Very nice modern bathroom too. The breakfast in the morning was of a high standard. We really did enjoy our night in this hotel. The only drawback is no guaranteed parking. That really is the only negative thing I can say about this hotel.

This hotel is in a beautiful location at the edge of the lake.
Transport to City Centre a few minutes round the corner.

As well as mini bar and snacks the hotel also provided kettle and tea/coffee -a first for any of our stays in Europe
Staff couldn't have been more friendly/ helpful.

Our safe malfunctioned and was fixed striaght away.

Would definitely recommend this .notel to any visitor to Hamburg

Overall Great Hotel

Our stay at the Alsterblick was overall great. We had a great room even though it did not have a view of the lake. Staff at the reception were very friendly, above standard for a German hotel! The hotel was also in a great location, just in front of the Alster lake so you had great views, places to walk, run. It was near a bus stop but we decided to take a nice 20 minute walk to the city center. As the cherry on the cake, the breakfast was fantastic.

Not four star for me

Bedroom was very small with tiny shower room built into the room. No kettle provided in the room and I had to go and ask for one. Quilt cover provided was too small for the bed and had to go and ask for another. Service received on these occasions not as good as it should have been. Breakfast was limited in scope but what there was was good quality. Quite a long walk to the city but I knew this when I booked.

What a beautiful little hotel, very quaint. We had an old fashioned stove in our room, must origionally have been part of an appartment kitchen and our flooring was mosaic, shame the bed covered some of it. The lift was out of an old fashioned movie and features were lovely, eg. stained glass, iron work, tiled flooring, ceilings.
Staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast offers great selection.
Only disappointments were lack of access to any gym facilities, which were included in expedia description (but running along the Alster is very popular, at all hours) and information on trips and tours, again stated in hotel decription, we were referred to central station for everything when we could have just walked up the road.

Location, location, location

We can't really fault the hotel itself. We took one of the \"deluxe\" rooms so cannot comment on the \"standard\" accommodation (all of which had sold out by the time we booked). Our room was quite impressive - very large room with seating area, high ceiling, large bathroom and a large balcony overlooking the lake (albeit over main road and through the trees). Good if not \"over the top\" breakfast buffet. Only two minor issues - at times the hotel seemed a little short-staffed, and the safe in our room malfunctioned during our stay (though it was replaced promptly).

Our main issue (and there's nothing that can be done about this) was with the location of the hotel. It's by the lake and in a decent area, but it is a good mile and more from the centre of town (and on the \"wrong\" side of town from the point of view of most of the obvious tourist attractions). It is too far to walk into town consistently, but the nearest underground is also about a 10 minute walk (in the wrong direction) though there is a bus route somewhat nearer. The travelling to and fro does take a bit of a chunk out of the day.

Staff was pleasant and helpful, and we especially appreciated the gentleman on duty the morning we left, who prepared a lovely breakfast for us -- at 4:30 AM! That was above and beyond expectation, and very much enjoyed.

We dont recommend the hotel to non-German speaking guests

We were not impressed with the service of the hotel. I booked the hotel because it is next to the lake & was expecting a view of it but what we've got was a basement room with not much view. The staff, although were friendly & professional, couldnt speak/understand much English. Housekeeping was not impressive with. 1st morning after we arrived, the mugs we used the night before were not washed and replaced. 2nd morning we had no mugs!! and had to go & get some at the reception. We dont recommend this hotel to potential visitors who dont speak German.

ich schreibe Ihnen, weil ich über meinen Aufenthalt in Ihrem Hotel tief enttäuscht bin – und das, obwohl Ihr Haus wunderschön ist und eigentlich genau meinen Erwartungen entsprochen hätte.

Der Vorfall an der Rezeption am 8. Dezember, als ich gegen 11:00 Uhr eingecheckt habe, hat meinen gesamten Aufenthalt überschattet. Der zu dieser Zeit diensthabende Mitarbeiter nannte mir beim Chech in einen Betrag von 512 Euro, obwohl meine Rechnung eindeutig 412 Euro betrug – und diesen Betrag hatte ich bereits in bar bezahlt.

Nur weil ich die Rechnung selbst kontrolliert habe, ist dieser Unterschied aufgefallen. Ich musste zurück zur Rezeption gehen, um mir die zu viel geforderte Summe zurückgeben zu lassen.
Ganz ehrlich: So etwas sollte in einem Hotel Ihres Niveaus niemals passieren.

Ich bin nicht nur verärgert, sondern wirklich maßlos enttäuscht. Als Gast möchte ich mich sicher fühlen und darauf vertrauen können, dass korrekt abgerechnet wird. Stattdessen hatte ich das Gefühl, dass man versucht hat, mir 100 Euro zusätzlich abzuverlangen. Das ist für mich völlig unverständlich und absolut inakzeptabel.

Ich bitte Sie dringend, den Vorfall zu prüfen. Sie können anhand des Datums und der Uhrzeit leicht nachvollziehen, welcher Mitarbeiter zu diesem Zeitpunkt im Dienst war.

Et virkeligt flot klassisk hotel der emmer af historie som passer unikt til de flotte omgivelser ved søen. Mit værelse havde enormt højt til loftet med flotte stuklister. Personalet virkede dog ved indtjekning reserverede og ikke særligt imødekommende. Nabobygningen til indgangspartiet til parkeringsanlægget som vi blev tilbudt at holde var ved at blive revet ned og virkede utrygt. Da vi derfor ikke ville bruge det fik vi annulleret ekstra betaling for dette, men uden ekstra beklagelse eller lign. Alt i alt virkeligt flot hotel der med en skærpet kundefokus kunne være en fantastisk oplevelse.

Dejligt værelse i en smuk, historisk bygning. Vi valgte en standard værelse denne gang og fik et værelse på 3. Sal. Det var lille, men velindrettet. Desværre var sengen placeret lige op ad naboværelsets badeværelse, så vi kunne høre alt derindefra. Både aftentoilette, nattisseri og 4 personer, som gik i bad og snakkede fra kl 7 næste morgen. Der var ellers stille, da værelset vendte mod gården, men vi fik ikke meget nattesøvn.
Morgenmadsbuffeten var lækker, men der vsr helt utrolig mange mennesker på alt for lidt plads, så vi opgav at spise.

Very nice rooms. Excellent location. Great breakfast. The only setback was that is became a bit warm without air conditioning (it was 35 degrees C outside when we were there in the beginning of July.

Store rummelige værelser. Super venlig betjening med lækker morgenbuffet med de bedste varer.

Das Hotel besticht durch seine tolle Lage direkt an der Aussenalster und die stilvolle Immobilie.
Sehr hundefreundlich, schönes Frühstück. Geschmackvolle Zimmer.
Leider waren Empfang und Checkout nicht stilvoll, und auch nicht besonders freundlich. Für mich gehört ein Lächeln und \" Ich wünsche Ihnen ein schönen Aufenthalt \" zu einem guten Hotel einfach dazu. Dass ich bei der Buchung angegeben hatte, dass ich meinen 50. Geburtstag feiere und um Sektgläser gebeten hatte, fand keinerlei Resonanz (keine Gratulation, keine Gläser). Beim Checkout wurde mir ein Taschenrechner mit einer Summe ( Zimmerkosten, Hund, Garage) vor die Nase gehalten, obwohl das Zimmer schon bezahlt war. Dann wurde die Summe still korrigiert und der Rechner erneut hingehalten.
Im sehr schönen Zimmer befanden sich reichlich klebrige Saftreste auf einem Nachttisch . Beide Nachttischlampen wackeln wie Entenschwänze wirken dadurch äußerst ramschig.
Wäre mir vermutlich keines negativen Kommentares würdig gewesen, wenn sich zumindest eine der drei Damen am Empfang zuvor zu einem freundlichen Wort herabgelassen hätte. Sehr schade.

Sehr hübsches Hotel mit viel Stuck und Jugendstil und ungewöhnlich gestalteten Zimmern.
Die Betten und die Kissenauswahl waren klasse und die Größe unseres Zimmer toll. Und ruhig war es auch, da wir zum Hof/Garten gewohnt haben.
Unser Zimmer Nr 1 war allerdings recht hellhörig. Sowohl die Gäste auf dem Flur als auch die Gäste, die die Treppe zum Frühstücksraum nutzten, konnten gut gehört werden.
Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, vor allem das frische Brot.
Die Verkehrsanbindung ist gut, die Bushaltestelle rasch zu erreichen.
Auf jeden Fall ein Hotel, daß eine Weiterempfehlung verdient hat.

Hyggeligt og lækkert lille hotel

Super hyggeligt hotel med gode senge og masser af plads på værelset.
Fint og lækkert badeværelse.
Super morgenbuffet med meget stort udvalg af forskelligt brød, ost, juice osv.
Brødet og kagerne kunne måske godt have været hjemmebagte, da vi var kolde. Det ville have løftet oplevelsen til det bedre.

Sehr schön saniertes und geschmackvoll eingerichtetes altes Haus in toller Lage direkt an der Alster. Gute Busanbindung um die Ecke und der Fußweg in die City war für uns gut machbar . Das Frühstück ließ keine Wünsche offen und das Personal war immer freundlich und unkompliziert . Hatten dort eine sehr schöne Zeit und würden das Haus jederzeit wieder besuchen.
Unser Highlight war die Alsterperle mit Außengastronomie in unmittelbarer Nähe , von der aus man einen phantastischen Blick über die Alster auf die Stadt hat, einfach toll !
