The rooms weren’t clean. The sofa bed had stains on it and it wasn’t made up. Had to go find someone to ask for sheets. The toilet is at end of room but to wash your hands you end up touching everything to then reach the bathroom. Really odd design. The shower had what looked like grease on the tap and sink very slowly drained. Good location. Staff were friendly enough but when I explained I wasn’t happy they just gave me an email address instead of trying to resolve issue.

It was all good although check-in was quick with zero info about hotel. Breakfast was just ok, most things which should have been hot were lukewarm (sausage bacon egg beans) or actually cold (hash browns) which didn’t inspire confidence. It is right by Excel and Custom House station though so in that way it’s great.

the hotel has underground parking, if you are staying in the hotel, you should get a discount.

when i booked as i had the youngest child with us we booked an adjoining room which wasn’t available. at first they gave us two rooms on to different floors. but eventually after asking swapped and had rooms on the same floor

At first glance, the hotel looks nice, but the furnishings and finishes were rather poor quality and showing signs of wear. The lobby bathrooms were always dirty, and our room had about 6\" of dust on the shower vent that we had to report to the staff to clean. Plus, the tub was dirty (we didn't even think of using it), the toilet area smelled of urine the entire time of our stay, and dust was hanging from the ceiling over our bed. The breakfast buffet kicked us out as soon as the hours over. The other restaurant had an extremely limited menu. Plus, we were yelled at for eating outside food in the lobby (even though the hotel restaurant had already stopped serving.) There were three of us staying in our room, and we had no space to eat in there. Plus, the fitted sheet did not tuck in on the top, and the bare mattress kept being exposed which is completely unsanitary. I also do not recommend if you are planning on visiting the city center a lot since it is a bit of a trek to get there.

Good location for Excel and surrounding dockland venues. Our room was quiet. We could open the window but there was noise from the nearby airport. Looking out on to a stony vista. Strange layout in our twin room as the loo was located around the corner from the bathroom which had a separate shower and bath. Staying here suited our needs, so if all you need is a bed for the night I would recommend

The trip was to attend the Formula E race at the ExCel, and so I chose this particular hotel because while I wanted just a place to rest my head after a long day, knowing I wasn’t going to be spending much time in the room, I also wanted to know that the time I did spend in the room, I would be comfortable.

Unfortunately, I can’t say I was particularly comfortable in my room, although the rest of the hotel was as lovely as I remember from my previous visits.

The hotel is in excellent condition, and offers a wide variety of facilities for mainly business orientated travellers. While I wouldn’t recommend the hotel as particularly family friendly, it is an excellent choice for those people who are attending any kind of convention at the ExCel, and indeed with its handy links to the O2 Arena and even Canary Wharf, it is ideally situated for those types of travellers.

So we arrvived early to check-in and joined the que but staff failed to keep to this and allowed 2 people to jump in before me. Room was warm and a lack of plug sockets also the TV had a crack in the center on the screen i reported this and not repaired and offered a desk fan to try and help with room temp but lack of sockets ment could not use. Breakfast was ok food below average with only choice of sauce being tomato. For the price you can get a better quantity of room for location

The small hotel parking is open to public for the same price, and hotel being next to the Excel means there is nooo parking space available during an event.
The sign when entering the parking always says there is space, but it’s not true, when you get in, you will see there is no car park available and many cars already entered and found no space is available, and now they have to pay £5 to exit the car park.

Very pleasant stay - I have stayed here before so I knew that the Hotel was very clean and the rooms were a very good size and very clean. The only issue we had was that the room key didn't work when we first checked in but I understand this was a technical issue within the hotel which was rectified later that evening.

A few improvements needed

One night stay with friends. Arrived to be told the wifi and electricity was down. Taken to our room by member of staff, no offer of drink to apologise and we weren’t advised that the issue was fixed (as advised we would). Room was very hot, which meant we didn’t sleep well. We went to the bar to order some drinks but no one offered to bring them to us.

Perfectly good hotel conveniently located for the Excel.
We did not sleep due to the heat in the room which we had no control over. We had not been informed that there was work or issues with the heating system.
Was disappointed with my main course at dinner which was not served with the baby new potatoes as per the menu description. Instead, without asking me, it came with a rather bizarre potato cake which I was told had vegetables in it but did in fact contain olives. My husband tasted it & declared it not at all nice. I was not offered an alternative.

When we got into our room, we discovered that the room had not been cleaned well at all from the previous people who had stayed in it. There were used mugs (with coffee and milk still in them) lying around, used slippers and towels still in the bathroom, as well as opened and used toiletries (I believe they were make up pads, didn't really want to touch and find out), and the iron was left out on the desk. The bed sheets weren't very big and didn't really cover the bed properly. As we were leaving we also realised there was also a brown stain on the wall behind the bed. Not good unfortunately, and surprising considering how nice the lobby and reception areas appeared downstairs, but the room did not live up to the expectations sadly.

This hotel was roomy for a London hotel. Very convenient for us to be a short walk to restaurants and the cable car to the O2 arena. Conveniently located near Excel and the Elizabeth Line railway, which took us to Heathrow Airport any many tourist attractions without having to change trains. Would definitely recommend this hotel. The restaurant staff were very attentive and helpful and the food was good.

Mohammed at the desk was great. Inability to talk to hotel was frustrating from moment one. Expedia was not helpful there either. Could not adjust anything and though I told them well ahead one room would leave one day early there was no willingness to give credit…though we had 7 people for 6 nights. Nights were impossible to cool despite being cold outside. Needed a fan plus windows open to be bearable. That was for all 4 rooms. Also have two elevators to get from room to hotel exit.

Overall, this is an OK hotel. Pretty much what you would expect for a typical Novotel. Depending on the time of year (and potential events happening at the Excel), I have found room rates between £100 & £300.
The issue for me is the lack of proper air conditioning. The controls in the bedrooms have little affect on the temperature (summer or winter). The result is an extremely hot & stuffy room, with a small window that only opens a small amount.
I have stayed several times and always reported the issue, but it hasn't changed.
As a result, our company will now be using an alternative hotel for future stays.

Our first choice when visiting London. A great hotel with a fabulous terrace for a coffee or a cocktail, soaking up the sun.
Easy access to the city and great to pop over to the O2 on the cable car for dinner.

The aircon wasn’t working in our room and it was very hot. Although the room was clean, it was definitely tired. Lots of areas of damaged paint, damage to some of the bathroom fittings (didn’t affect use but didn’t look great). Pillows had seem better days and sofa bed cushions were stained.
However the staff were very friendly and the hotel location is excellent for the excel.

The accommodation was in a perfect location for London Excel with excellent public transportation getting there. My room was comfortable and quiet. The only 2 main problems were in the bathroom. The bathroom sink wouldn’t drain which was a bit gross. The shower head was impossible to tilt down therefore the water shot out horizontally, this was awkward.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the condition of the executive room I was assigned during my recent stay at your hotel. I had high expectations based on the price and the room type I booked, but unfortunately, my experience was far below these expectations.

Upon arrival, I immediately noticed that the room had not been properly cleaned. The bed was untidy, and the carpet was visibly dirty. The mirrors were smeared and had clearly not been cleaned. Most concerning were the pillowcases, which had visible red/brown stains on them — an unacceptable condition.

Additionally, the air conditioning in the room was not functioning properly. Despite having the AC running for over five hours straight, the room remained uncomfortably hot, making it difficult to relax or sleep. This, combined with the other cleanliness issues, made my stay much less pleasant than anticipated.

I had specifically booked an executive room, expecting a certain level of comfort and quality, including a nice view and a balcony. However, there was no balcony, and the view from the room was disappointing, which further detracted from my experience.

Given the poor state of the room, the non-functioning AC, and the discrepancies between what was promised and what was delivered, I feel that the standards of cleanliness and service were far below what should be expected from a hotel of your reputation.

I kindly request that you address this matter , whether through a partial refund, compensation.

Hotel smelled lovely. Most of the people working reception was kind and helpful... Unfortunately I had to ask twice for my shower to be looked at because it did not drain well most of my stay. Found discarded plastic under the sofa bed. Our room had no drinking water, shower caps or even footwear like the other rooms. I loved the location but there can be improvements in service.
