Room was clean, spacious, everything needed. Amenities were good the only downside is yes you get a fan in the room but with the hot weather it really needed Aircon, difficult to sleep with how warm the room gets. Other than that zero complaints and would stay again

However...

The rooms are so poor. I'm not a bed dimension expert but these beds are tiny, because the rooms are like matchboxes. I've never had the desire to swing a cat round, but here you couldn't even swing a mouse!

Whilst I was considering swinging an ant round, I had to stop due to the deafening sounds that you get every 15 minutes from the neighbouring DLR, luckily between 1am and 5am they had a little break so I got some rest in my pixie sized bed...

Pointless kitchenette with zero items in, a broken kettle, a broken iron and blocked bathroom sink, should invest some money in actual rooms rather than facilities. Like two different places.

Also, pretty sure the doors are made from lead or something easily as dense, not sure how the dwarfs these rooms are designed for would open them!!

To summarise, stay here as a last resort, not worth the small savings you can make vs other places.

Ridiculously small shower for a 6ft 3in person. Extremely loud train runs from 5am till 1am right beside the property, hard to sleep. Tv and iron both did not work.

Hotel was great! The only issues was the shaded on the window. They didn’t block the sun at all. The sun rises at 4:30 am here and doesn’t go down fully until 11pm. Also the smallest bathroom ever. I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in Europe and these were the smallest bathrooms I’ve ever seen. Overall the a good hotel for the price!

Room was tiny, and very old in need of a serious make over. Bathroom was tiny and the shower door didn’t shut properly, there was also no aircon so you had to have the window open. Given it was near the DLR it was very noisy.

Dried bogies on the wall right next to the bed, broken remote, other people’s clothes/ belongings collecting in the wardrobe, empty soap container in the kitchen.

So much of the room just looked dirty and like it needed a wipe. The outside of the shower looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages, walls, sides, just all needed to be cleaned properly.

So much of the room just felt grotty and like it needed a proper clean.

Bathroom isn’t big enough to move in.

But the swimming pool is amazing, I would come back for that alone.

And the cafe attached is brilliant, with nice staff and lots of good options. Also beautiful iced coffee.

Staff were helpful and friendly but I had to wait nearly an hour for them to check that the tv in my room wasn't working.
Terrible that each room only has 2 cups and 2 tsp. Extras had to be requested and I was given a cracked glass and a dirty knife. I was too tired and fed up to complain by that point.
Rooms remind me of a student bedsit.
Pool and sauna were nice
I had a terrible night sleep bc I could hear the DLR trains and also humming from fridge.

Clean but very basic. Beds are a small double, not ideal for couples at all. Photos misleading.

The ‘bathroom’ is better described as a telephone booth. It’s like the pocket knife of bathrooms; you can brush your teeth, have a shower & drop the kids off, all at the same time! - once again very misleading photos, tiny.

Staff weren’t useless but they weren’t exactly helpful. Very blunt, seemed like they wanted to be somewhere else, don’t blame them to be fair.

Told me I could check in early then made me wait 3 hours. Rooms had no towels or toiletries when I arrived. There was also a “mistake” and the lifts were frozen at 11pm at night. Had to walk 20 flights of stairs or wait (again). Not ideal when it’s late and all I want is to sleep. Also the showers were stone cold for a day or 2. Rooms were clean. Staff were nice. But probably wouldn’t book again.

It started very badly with Satnav sending us to a pedestrianised deadend at the waterfront. However with telephone assistance from the Ark staff we eventually found the entrance which is set back from the road. We stayed in a tiny double bed studio, probably the smallest we have ever seen. It was however perfect for our stay and was very well fitted out and spotless. The pool and spa was stunning and with incredible views from the 20th floor to the O2. Staff qere helpful, lifts a high tech joy and all in all extremely good value. Access to all areas via the adjacent light railway station was a huge benefit for getting around. We would stay again and now we know where the entrance is it will be even better!

Honest review the apartments looked a lot nicer on the site. It was giving student vibes but I must say the staff were really great and upgraded us and the accommodation was better. The spa and pool was great and a fab view I couldn’t fault.

Good location, nice building on the outside. And good facilities. That said the furniture in the rooms not in good condition, the water pressure in the shower is very poor and the sound insulation not great - so noisy in the hallway throughout the night. Bed and mattress pretty uncomfortable and definitely in need of replacement.

Additionally - why provide a “studio” space with a kitchen and not provide any crockery / dishes / cutlery?! Very random (and a bit annoying!)

Would stay again simply for the convenience - but I would expect better in future.

The stay was wonderful and pool is amazing! Rooms aren’t as small as people make out to be and we got a classic studio!!! The POOL was unreal! I think only thing is for ur stay bring a mini fan haha as its very hot in the rooms at time but the window being opened helped too! Overall was very good just very hot :)))

The locals PERFECT for me. Best stay in canary wharf imo.

My experience at the Canary Ark Hotel was very disappointing and did not meet my expectations. The room was extremely small, and the bed was in poor condition it felt unstable, made a lot of noise with any movement, and sank in the middle, making it uncomfortable to sleep on. Overall cleanliness was below standard. The floors and surfaces were dirty, and the room had a strong smell of weed, which was both unexpected and unpleasant. I did not feel that the stay was worth the money, and I would not consider returning.

I’ve stayed at The Ark at Canary Wharf for extended periods and keep coming back, which probably says everything. I’ve been staying here on and off since November last year, often for months at a time, and the experience has consistently been excellent. The staff are always welcoming, professional, and genuinely helpful, which makes a huge difference when you’re somewhere long-term rather than just passing through. The building itself is well maintained, comfortable, and in a great location, but what really stands out is the level of service and the atmosphere the team creates. I’ve stayed in plenty of places around London and this is one of the few where you actually feel looked after. Honestly, I have nothing negative to say, and that’s rare. If you’re considering staying here, I’d highly recommend it.

Kitchenette in room was good idea but absolutely no pans, crockery, cutlery, so basically unuseable & no point in it being there.
Bathroom absolutely tiny compared to the size of the overall room, could barely move in the shower & ended up using kitchen sink as bathroom one too small. Toiletries weren't great quality either.
That said, I got it for a decent price for London, it was clean, walkable to public transport & nice to have a swimming pool. Didnt use the gym, cinema room or coworking areas but again nice that these are available.

Firstly there is not enough support or help from the staff there are no phones in the bedroom. I paid for a premium room yet the room I was given was far from premium it was tiny and blocked by a block of flats despite being advertised as ‘city view’ I was able to change after making a complaint but in the new room the TV was so far from the bed it wasn’t comfortable nor were there any plates, bowls, spoons etc… in the kitchen area which didn’t make any sense as there is no way to use it without these. I did love the pool area but it was quite disappointing that the bar/ restaurant area was closed. There is also no where to buy food in the hotel nor is there anywhere to get or order breakfast. Although there is a cafe next to the reception area.

I also had an extremely bad sleep, it was sooo noisy and people were shouting outside my room before 5am in the morning.

The rooms are small, but that is reflected in the price.

The area is extremely noisy with the nearby DLR. The rooms get very warm, with no control over temperature other than opening a window. Ergo noise.

The beds are small doubles, so they don’t really work for couples.

Staff all seem to have an attitude - you’re left standing around reception like you’re not really cared about. You’re asked for identification when you check in, with no explanation as to why.

I only stay here when there’s a deal on.

Well it was great value and not far from Canary Wharf. Staff very nice. But bed wasn’t a double and not very comfy and tv didn’t work but it was late so I didn’t to be fair go and ask to get fixed. Just a bit annoying. Gym looked good but didn’t look at pool. It was super cheap for an easy night and Elizabeth line just a short walk straight into town.

Do not be fooled by the images they advertise it is the complete opposite. The rooms are extremely dirty and dusty. I fear that they do not even clean the rooms they just remake the bed for new arrivals. You will find things that look like bogeys on the walls. The floors are so sticky to walk around in. The dust is disgustingly thick. As soon as we checked in there was someone else’s hair all over the bed sheet. Looked like someone’s pubes. It’s absolute filth.

The hotel was really nicely designed & very friendly staff with a lovely spa/ pool area. I would say we didn’t find the bed that comfortable and had a dripping tap all night long. It would also be nice to be able to use the pool table if you’re staying there rather than just for members. Other than that we had a great stay !

If I could choose zero stars, that would be more appropriate but, unfortunately, it’s not an option.

Room is nice size but the bed is small, no tea spoon for coffee, no cutlery or plates or anything to use in the kitchenette. Bathroom was dirty, tap and shower were filthy so didn’t use them. Side in the room was dusty ( you’ll find it says clean me on it if you stay there.)

Pool was only useable until checkout at 11am which wasn’t clear on check in or on the website. Shower was nicer in the pool changing area than the room.

We didn’t get our room cleaned, even though we had the little hanging sign outside our door. Also got locked in the toilets of the cafeteria downstairs, the locks should be checked and changed. The door had to be broken for me to get out.
Also, the sink in the room got clogged every time we used it, to brush our teeth even. And the pressure of the water in the shower was too low.

The swimming pool is really great. The only thing I was not pleased about was that I was in a box room when I opened the blind; I was looking into somebody's kitchen. So I could not open the blind through out the stay. The reception is clean and feels welcoming.

The room was very clean, and very comfortable bed. The shower was very good but on the small side as was the sink. The room was let down by lots of dirty scuff marks and flaking paint on the walls and there was a crack in the plasterboard as you walked in on the right which didn't give a good first impression.
