I can not rate this motel high enough, great hosts, impeccably clean and well thought out rooms. Amazing views, bikes, 3 pools and the list goes on. I give this 10:10. It’s a 15 min walk to town but so much around it so it was the perfect location for us to appreciate the lakes.

Nice view from living room and balcony. Heated pool and hot tub are nice too. Shopping centre and restaurants are nearby. Lake and the Two Mile Bay Sailing Club is just across the road and our 3yo enjoyed a morning walk and playing at lakefront. Will definitely come back again. Highly recommend to couples and families.

We had a last minute booking and arrived late in the evening The owners are welcoming. They also turned the heater on in the room. So after coming back from the hospital it was a quiet and warm space we needed. It was comfortable though we did not get to use any facilities as we had to rush to another hospital but the kindness shown was truly heart warming in stressful times. So thank you again. And looking forward to enjoying our stay next time.

This hotel just out of Taupo is a great place to stay to get away from the tourist trap and it's only a short distance to the city. The view of the lake is right in front, the hot spa is perfect, the service was friendly and efficient. The room was great, bed comfortable, facilities just right. But it does need an upgrade - very tired looking. Would still recommend for a stay.

Travelling for work with a colleague recently and was pleased to find this motel that offered 2 bedrooms with a queen bed in each - didn’t have to toss a coin for the room with 2 singles.
The hotel was easy to find, warm welcome in reception, and across the road from the lake. The room was well-appointed, clean, and spacious. Shower over the spa bath had good pressure and there are extra towels on offer.
Not much road noise considering its location. The beds were comfy and extra blankets on hand. Kitchen has cooking facilities and a microwave and decent cups for your morning coffee.

My two children and I loved our stay at the Anchorage. We actually ended up staying an extra night and what turned out to be our fourth night there. The Manager was really helpful and went the extra mile to accommodate us or to offer friendly local advice. We would definitely stay there again.
