We looked extensively for the hotel that would fit our needs best, which for a family of 4 wanting 1 room with air conditioning in August was tough to find. This hotel exceeded our expectations! It was perfect for us and close to the metro, so getting around Paris was easy. The wonderful lady at the front desk, Lipi, was extremely helpful! Fluent in English, she helped us daily with advice, suggestions and how best to get places. She really made our time in Paris go smoothly with all the local info! Thank you!

I’ve traveled a great deal. I traveled mostly domestically in the US. This was my first time in Paris. I had originally stayed in Montmarte. I extended my stay at the Hotel Duret. As an older person, I found the locational ideal. Hotel Doret is walkable to the Arc de Triumph and the Champs Elysee (spelling may be wrong) but it is miles away from tourists. The hotel is well connected by the metro and 2 separate RER stations which is ideal. To take a hop on and hop off I believe can be done at the Arc de Triumph. I became a part of the many quiet neighborhoods nobody knows about. There weren’t expensive tourist restaurants. There were local bistros, cafes, bakeries, and a wonderful fruit stand. The hotel itself was beautiful. The decor and little touches made this place unique. It was the wonderful staff that makes this hotel exceptional. As a solo female traveler with 2 small dogs, the staff took me under their care. They helped with my future travel plans. I made close friends with one of the managers and it will be my best experience from my visit. Hopefully, for a long time. That sort of kindness can’t be found in any Parisian boutique. There are not enough words to share my utter gratitude to the kindness I received. In my situation meeting people in place far from home that really cared for me is a testament at the kindness of Parisians. People, mostly the US, have a conception that Parisians are rude or don’t like Americans. Stay at The Hotel Duret and you’ll know.

I'm so happy I booked this hotel after hours of looking through options and reviews. This was the perfect Paris location with a very traditional \"Paris\" neighborhood feel of the large windows opening out to the street. The location was quiet, but had all conveniences just steps away - a grocery market, a pharmacy, many restaurants, and a metro stop on a convenient line to reach all the major landmark areas. The family suite was perfect for my family of 4 and had a small wrap-around balcony. The space was very generous for Paris. The \"quad\" suite would also be great for a couple seeking more space than the average Parisian accommodation. The hotel staff was excellent and the property is very well maintained.

I used to live in the same neighbourhood and it’s great to be able to return. We requested a cot and it’s great and had a very quiet room with a toddler. Close to metro, Bois de Boulogne and great restaurants and attractions. Was offered a small Easter gift which we’re very thankful for. We’d love to return again

Lovely Hotel in the 16th

We had business at a nearby consulate, so we picked the Hotel Duret for a two-night stay. The property is in an interesting area of the 16th with a number of good restaurants. The hotel room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was very good as well. One oddity - our tea kettle leaked, so we requested a new one - and that one leaked as well.
Would recommend this hotel, especially if you are not a tea drinker.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Duret. The hotel is situated in a very good area - close to a metro stop, many restaurants and shops in the area, but the street is quiet. For this area of Paris and the quality of the hotel, this hotel is a great find and we would stay here again. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful too!

Perfect location, near the Arc de Triomphe.

Wonderful restaurants in the area. The hotel is a boutique hotel, the rooms are a nice size. We are a family of four and we had a room with two twin beds and an adjoining room with a king size bed, full bathroom, with a tub and a double sink.

The staff was very friendly, and very accommodating.

I would recommend this hotel for its great customer service and location.

Good location with large room

This hotel is in a good location within walking distance of L'arc de Triomphe and Les Champs-Elysees. The neighborhood has a cute bakery, convenience store and wonderful cafe. It's also close to the Metro. The view from our room was of a quintessential Paris street with shops and apartments. The room itself was as described with large windows and a nice bathroom. The only drawback to the bathroom was the tub/shower has a design flaw where it sprayed water everywhere and got the bathroom floor quite wet with each shower. Otherwise it is spacious and modern with a large window that opens to a view of a cute cafe on the street below. Our room was cleaned each day with fresh towels, but our sheets weren't changed at all during our six night stay. The staff at the front desk is not overly friendly and we were never made to feel welcome in the hotel. We took this in stride until we had an upsetting incident on our third night. While I was blowdrying my hair at 10 pm, there was a very loud banging on the room door. While I hesitated to answer with no peep hole and being two women alone in a foreign country, the person immediately banged again. He aggressively yelled demanding to know what was happening in the room without identifying himself. When I replied I was drying my hair, he said this is the front desk and left. I was very shaken up and disturbed by this encounter. When I stopped by the desk in the morning to mention the incident, I was met with a less than sincere apology.

Compact yet comfortable hotel in convient location

The room was definitely on the small side, as others have mentioned, but comfortable nonetheless. I didn't find it difficult to move around and there was enough space for one person to spread out, at least. I had a lovely view outside my window, and it was nice to have the option to step outside onto the little balcony. The bed was remarkably comfortable.

Location was very convenient for attending meetings at the Palais des Congrès, with plenty of good restaurants nearby and a grocery store right across the street. The staff at the hotel were also friendly and helpful, and there is always someone on duty at the front desk.

I would recommend skipping out on the in-hotel food options unless you're really pressed for time. While the breakfast room and \"room service\" (which are essentially pre-packaged and microwaved meals) are convenient, they are overpriced and underwhelming compared to the many options nearby.

The hotel was ok. The room was very tiny, we couldn’t for example open our suitcases up as they didn’t fit, but we had a very nice balcony. The carpet was a bit moist in some places. We mentioned this to the reception, but were told that this wasn’t true without them checking the room. We were offered another room if we would have paid 40€ more but we decided to stay in the room we had, as we were only there for the weekend.

It is a great hotel with a very good location. What makes it EXCEPTIONAL is the staff. They were all super friendly. We were there during the French strikes, not knowing if our train was going to be cancelled or not. The front desk lady was so amazing checking it for us multiple times...
Not to mention, they gave us our room at 10 AM when we arrived which is un-heard of in Europe. Early check in (without us even asking), clean room, amazing staff, great shower! Could not ask for a better stay. Highly recommend it!

Quiet and away from tourist

Well located hotel away from the tourist area but close to it all. Five minute walk to the Arc of Triumph, Champs Elysees and metro #1. Supermarket, bakery, pharmacy and restaurants within the block. Room was spacious, beds were comfortables, breakfast was good. The partial shower door did not contain all the water while taking shower but did not bother me. A towel and daily housekeeping took care of the problem

Nice hotel, BAD customer service experience

My business partner and i have booked 2 rooms (14 nights together) in this hotel. Our flight was delayed which forced us to check in a day after our original arrival. 6 days later we had to shorten our flight to due extreme weather conditions and asked in advance to check out a day earlier. After multiple conversation with all the managers the hotel refused by all means to offer us any kind of compensation for any of the 4 days we've lost, According to them our reservation was booked as nonrefundable. We find this decision to be outrageous given the circumstances and overall nights we've stayed int his hotel.

In addition, one of our rooms was extremely hot, the air condition wasn't working. After complaining multiple times i was given the answer that basically because we're at winter, there is no air condition. I had open all windows to fall asleep. Once again the staff couldn't care less and didn't transfer me to a different room. It's a shame on their part as we travel to Paris at least twice a year and won't stay there again.

On the positive; the hotel is pretty much as described in the photos. centrally located. The rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel is located in a central area and easy to get to know. There's a great super yummy and cheap sushi place across the street from it.

Wasn't quite the Parisian Experience we Expected

We arrived in CDG late, close to midnight as our flights were delayed upon arriving. When we arrived at the hotel, the door's sensor weren't activated, and there were no staff on site or visible at the front desk. It took us about 10 mins to figure that there was a bell that looked like a sensor for a card scanner to get a staff to let us in. We made it clear to the front desk that we were famished and needed food. He just gave us a city map and that was it. We inquired further if there is an access card for the main entrance, he said no and insisted he will be at the front desk when we return.

Food option wise, abysmal at the time. By the time we freshen up and was hoping to grab a meal, only few bars were opened but were closing soon. We had to track a few miles to a Mcdonalds at the Champ Elyesess.

Upon returning, again, no sign of the staff. We felt bad, maybe he was taking a break or nap, as it was close to 2am. I understand security is important, but the hotel needs to fix this.

Hotel was small, no complaints on that since we were in the center of the city. Only issue was the shower doors couldn't close properly and caused a big leak into the whole bathroom, and there were NO drains! We were there for 1 night, so we didn't bother to feedback.

The last straw was our surprise charge that appeared on our card for about 5 euros. We contacted the hotel, and they said it was a city tax fee. Shouldn't all these taxes be included in our reservation already?

This hotel is in an excellent location. The area is safe. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately the hotel room was not up to par with its cleanliness. The bathroom was really dirty, specifically the tub/shower. I would rate it really low. The bed was fine but the furniture in the room is s bit shabby. Although the pictures are accurate they were probably taken when the rooms were newly done. Overall I still had a good experience at this hotel, I just wish it was actually 4/4.5 as advertised rather than a 3/3.5

Beautiful hotel in an ideal location.

Ideally located close to metro stations and the Champs Elysées. So quiet at night that you have to remind yourself you’re in the city of Paris.
All the reception staff were lovely and so attentive. Deluxe room was extremely spacious. Just beautofuk. Highly recommend this hotel.

Room had hairbands on the floor from previous occupant. Toilet bowl needed a bleach. Early evening and Morning Female concierge were lovely, late evening gentlemen who took over less helpful. Found it odd that in 2017 there was notd not a converter plug in the entire hotel!!! A very nice female concierge in the morning had a box of usb plugs so we were able to partially charge phones on check out- it would have helped if the gentleman on reception we had initially asked provided us this the night before. Only stayed one night, 1st time staying in a 4 star in Europe, if this is the template will stick with 5. Expensive for 4 star of this standard.

My wife and I had a great stay at Hotel Duret. The staff was really nice and extremely helpful. The hotel is one short block away from Champs-Elysees in a quiet neighborhood. The location is perfect because it sits almost in the center of all major attractions and is easily within walking distance to them also. I would definitely stay at the Hotel Duret again.

A clean hotel but rooms are small and basic

We got a standard room which was fairly pricey. It was clean but small and the facilities were very basic. There was no kettle provided in the room and no tea of coffee. We had to put down a €60 deposit for a kettle. It seems a small thing but it's the first time I've ever stayed somewhere that reserved the \"luxury\" of being able to make tea and coffee in the room to the more expensive room classes! The hotel were good about it and even offered to upgrade our room although we declined. Hopefully the management will reconsider their approach! They certainly seemed helpful.

This hotel isn't old and charming, it's old and dirty. The duvet was unclean when we arrived, the coffee cups had coffee stains in them...and things only got worse.
One morning we were heading out for sightseeing- 9:55 am and just about about out the door when the maid came in. She said, \"No?\" And I said,\"No.\" I guestured to my wife who was finishing up her make at the bathroom mirror- implying that we would need just a couple more minutes before we could head out. Undaunted, she came in and stated straightening up. Pillows were tossed on the floor, note pads put back on the desk...Then another maid joined the first in our room (all in a matter of about two minutes) and tried to move my wife out of the bathroom. Of course, when we returned that evening the room was straightened up, but still very far from clean.
Find another hotel in Paris. The first night there we tried to get a refund for the following two nights so that we could seek a different hotel, but they wanted payment for all three nights.
One bright spot- the young lady who works the front desk in the mornings and midday is very friendly and helpful.

Location is great

The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the Arch and 15 minutes to Champs Elysee. The metro is 1 minute away. The restaurants on the same street are fantastic and there is a supermarket one block away. The staff are kind and helpful. Our room was not cleaned everyday and we ran out of critical supplies but otherwise we enjoyed the hotel very much .

Stayed for a weekend when running Paris Marathon

Great location. Easy access to Metro and therefore all the sights of Paris. 5 min walk from the Arc de Triumph. Great boutique hotel. Staff great - really helpful and friendly. If you are running the Marathon you won't get closer to the start finish area - perfect. I would definitely stay there on my next visit - running or not - and I'd certainly recommend to anyone else. Price was really competitive and I don't think you'd find better at that price point.

I stayed the day before Paris Marathon. Location is really good as it's walking distance to and from the start and finish.
The staff were really friendly and room was clean and good size.
There were quite nice shops and cafes around the area and didn't feel dangerous as a female traveller.
Just one down side was I could hear the noise when people flushed the toilet in upstairs.
But overall, I was happy with my stay.

The carpet was worn out and needed a good carpet cleaning. Also the bathroom is tiny. I wasn't fond of the hotel. The walls are really thin, and you can hear people. It wasn't up to our standards. The location however was nice. And again the staff really was helpful.

Hotel Duret was a cute boutique hotel. It had a great location to the Palais de Congres (less than 5 minute walk), which is why we chose the hotel. Our room with a balcony was much smaller than the images appeared on the website, but as frequent European travelers, this can be expected.

The staff was friendly. I requested a kettle for the room and they promptly brought it. I did not have the breakfast so I can not review the food offering, but in Paris, you can save the money and find a cute cafe nearby!

Nearby there is shopping, restaurants and two markets to buy food or other items. There are also close bus and metro stops.

My only complaint is the cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms. The bed was clean but there were lots of marks on the walls/ paint chips, and all the surfaces including the bathroom, all furniture and especially inside the closet (looked like something spilt inside) could have used a GOOD wipe/scrub. For the price of the room, I was expecting a better room condition.

Just a short hop over to Paris stayed in this upmarket area close to metro so all of Paris accessible Arc de Triumph just around the corner plus good restaurants nearby.
Quiet and straight forward hotel no complaints. Didn't do breakfast or much else at hotel simply slept and used it as a base. We had a balcony which was a pleasant surprise. Good powerful shower not a massive room but suffice for a short stay. Not too much interaction with any other guests or staff so can't comment on that.

This hotel was a gem - a boutique hotel in an iconic Parisian neighborhood surrounded by shops that wafted smells of chocolate and fresh-baked bread and strong coffee as you walk by. It felt like a movie set - everything you would hope Paris would be. The hotel itself was well-appointed and the staff was charming and very accommodating (particularly Andrea!).

Good location, good service.

Good location especially if you want to visit the Palais de Congres. My only criticism is that the room could have been cleaner, but I did check-in early on a Saturday morning so that may have had something to do with it.

Boutique hotel - very personal touch

Maria was the best! She helped us in every way possible to make our trip enjoyable by calling the tour and restaurants for us! Sharing how to use the subway and how to get to place and great places to eat. Just a genuine helpful person! I am believer of small boutique hotel now! The personal touch helps very much and you get confidence that you getting good help and advice

Very nice friendly hotel

Really nice hotel. Friendly staff. All speak English. Also allow late check out free. Excellent location. Very comfortable beds. Only a few small faults.Had to ask for tea, coffee,sugar for 2 days of our stay. Also my partner said she thought they should have supplied hair conditioner.

Great small boutique hotel!

We have the good fortune to go to Paris frequently for both business and pleasure as we live in the south-east of France. We love this hotel as the staff go out of their way to be helpful, the room is clean and comfortable, it is conveniently located to shops, restaurants, and the metro, while on a quiet street. It is only a 5 minute walk to l' Arc de triomphe.

Great for easy access to sights of Paris

Spent 3 nights ( Wed- Sat) in early October. Flew into Charles De Gaulle airport - Air France shuttle bus drops off only 10 mins walk away.
Hotel staff very helpful and spoke English.
Only 3 mins walk from nearest Metro (Argentine) with journey time to centre of about 10-15mins.

Very comfortable bed (especially if you have back trouble) and room was clean although paintwork is in need of attention.
Large bathroom but bath is small especially if you are a larger or taller person. Full selection of toiletries.
Being a city hotel, be prepared for early morning noise (bin lorries arrive about 6.45am) but ear plugs are effective.

Breakfast buffet is basic so, after the first day, we choose to eat in one of the local cafes which was much better value

Great location, right next to the Arc du Triomphe

We stayed there for two nights for my wife's birthday. It was ideal as we wanted somewhere near the city center and also somewhere near Restaurant Guy Savoy. I'm very satisfied with my choice of hotel.

The hotel was lovely,basic but lovely,however the banging of doors was very loud,every time anyone left a room the bang woke me up. Outside was also bust and loud and unfortunately as lovely as it was I would rather somewhere a little more peaceful

Great Hotel close to l'arc de triomphe!

The staff welcomed us warmly and were very helpful including housekeeping. The room was not large by American standards but it wasn't tiny either. It was larger than most Paris hotel rooms and was very clean, well appointed and comfortable. We have stayed at Hotel Duret over the years and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend it.

Amazing location, couldn't ask for more

We booked this through the mystery hotel option for a discount rate...We couldn't have asked for a hotel more central than this! You were just a couple of steps round the corner and you were on the street leading up to the arc de triomphe which was fantastic. Nearest metro was argentine which was about 3 minutes walk from the hotel and the same line as the louvre which was ideal. You were 2 shops away from a supermarket which was super helpful. Staff was more than accommodating when asking for directions etc. Rooms were very clean, we upgraded to the superior queen bed rooms for an extra 60 euros which was totally worth it. Bathroom was big and bed was comfy.

We were in room 401 which was very quiet, I don't know why people were moaning about soundproofing because it sounded like we were the only ones in the hotel!The only thing I could criticise was there was a really strong smell of paint in our room as if it'd been very recently painted. I developed a really bad cough and sore throat from this and I was almost wretching in the night when i woke up to the smell of it.

Other than that we couldn't have asked for a better hotel for this location and the price that we got it through the mystery hotel offer.
