Decent hotel for the price. Definitely 3 star quality...not exceptional but served its purpose. Loved that I could check in at noon after a red eye flight. Staff for the most part were friendly with the exception of 1 staff member correcting my french in a bit of a rude manner. I genuinely tried my best with my limited language. The rooms are very basic but very clean and offer mini fridges which is nice for a few groceries. Very close to arc de triomphe and walkable to eiffel tower which was great for tourists.
I stayed at the courtyard level which is also where the breakfast is served. Very quiet aside from about 6:30am-10:30am when breakfast is served. Fortunately, jetlag had me unbothered but good to note and maybe request a room on an upper level. Overall a fine stay. I got what I paid for which was a bed and what I felt was a safe accommodation.

It was a good (and a stones throw from the Arc d’ Triumphe) until the last morning when the front desk thought I hadn’t paid for the continental breakfast the day prior (I had) and the clerk the day before hadn’t put it in the computer. Once it was settled I had actually paid, I paid for that mornings continental breakfast but didn’t take the receipt (my bad-I wasnt thinking) so the kitchen staff treated me as if I was lying about paying. Another guest walked in the dining area and was greeted with “bonjour!” and I was greeted with “did you pay?!?!” Then they called the front desk to make sure. It was VERY insulting! Staff was terrible overall. I go to Paris every year and I wont stay there ever again. Avoid and stay somewhere else you’ll be better off.

This hotel is in a great location within the walking distance to famous landmarks and metro right by the entrance. If you are planning on staying there you do need to specify what kind of room you would like to have because some of them do not have any city views.

The room was clean but did not have a kettle or any tea/coffee facilities in the room.
The air conditioning remote control was unavailable on the first night, until mentioned at reception.

I stayed there for one night. They have a luggage storage facility, which was very convenient for me as I arrived well ahead of the regular check-in time. The best thing about the place is the location - right beside the train station and 5 5-minute walk from Arc de triumph. I loved it. I had business in Lyon, so I stayed there for one night to explore some popular attractions in pairs. I believe if you are traveling solo and looking for an affordable accommodation, this place is perfect for a few night stay. The rooms were clean and perfect for one person.

Disappointing Experience – Not Recommended

This is a family-run hotel, but unfortunately, the service and professionalism were well below expectations.
1.Upon checkout, the owner—a rather rude older Asian man—accused me of attempting to leave with the room key and raised his voice at me in a very inappropriate manner. There is no in-room safe, so guests are expected to leave their valuables with the staff, which raises concerns about security. When I politely asked for his name, he refused to provide it. The interaction was deeply unpleasant and unprofessional.
2.Housekeeping appears to be available only between 9am and 10am. After that, we were given low-quality, visibly unclean towels. The following day, the room was barely cleaned—the bed was left as we had left it—though the towels were replaced.

Additionally, the website fails to mention that the property has no lift. After midnight, the reception area is poorly lit, and we had to use our phone’s flashlight to navigate safely.

While it may be a family business, that’s no excuse for the lack of basic hospitality standards. I wouldn’t stay here again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others.

If you’re staying on a low budget, there’s nothing wrong with this hotel, if you’re a senior retired, I would consider upgrading

We enjoyed a very peaceful and quiet stay of 4 nights.
It just yards to the metro Station of Argentine.
And 5 minutes to the Arc de Triomphe.
Breakfast was simple but plentiful.
It’s just a simple basic hotel for the money.
The room and bathroom etc were all clean.
The Staff were pleasant etc.
We would stay there again.

There was an Asian man i. The front desk at night who was terribly rude and not helpful in anyway. The lady at cafe was equally unfriendly and i felt so rushed. The property is old and dated, rooms are small and lacks an area to stow away our luggages. The only reason why I booked this hotel as it was close to the start line and finish line of the Paris Marathon.

The staff were incredibly friendly. The room was okay. Not the best kept (stained caulking and chipped paint) and often very noisy, but perfectly clean and fine. I did find it strange that I had to leave my key card with reception every time I went out; it was fine, but I've never experienced that before. It was a great option for a cheap, last minute stay very close to public transport and popular attractions. If you have mobility restrictions, make sure you double check where your room is because there wasn't an elevator, just a set of unlit stairs to get to my room.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating! My flight arrived early and they allowed me to check in hours early. There’s a lot of negative reviews for noise but I didn’t feel like it was any louder than any other hotel I’ve stayed in. There is no elevator, it’s an older hotel, but recently renovated. They have usb charging ports so you don’t need an adapter. The rooms are small but I wasn’t doing anything but showering and sleeping. The staff speaks English if your French isn’t up to par. Overall I’d stay here again just for location and convenience! The staff even offered me a free breakfast at check out. I know there’s a lot of negative reviews but for a 3 star hotel, it’s giving five stars!

The day I came in - I was waiting too long until a fun conversation with someone ended. I travel quite a lot and never had to give back the key every time I get in and out of the hotel, it happened that the concierge (an Asian guy) was quite rude to tell me to read the sign (to leave the key in the reception). The only good thing about the hotel was the convenient location.

Perfect for my needs.

Perfect for my purposes. I was attending an event nearby and needed a bed for the night. I had requested a quiet room away from traffic so expected no view which was fine. The air conditioning had been activated prior to my arrival which was kind as Paris was very warm indeed! No hanging space in wardrobe (due to winter duvet and extra pillows) but there were hangers so I could use them elsewhere. The bed was very comfortable, the shower worked well and I slept very well indeed. Breakfast was standard French, served with a smile. Always someone at reception. Friendly staff.

There is no elevator so your left to carry baggage up narrow staircase. Rooms face busy street that doesn’t slow down with traffic noise and the rooms are not sound proof. A bit difficult to get sleep. However close to high end shopping places and cafes Not cheap to shop or stay in area but if your after high end bands they are everywhere

Não tem elevador (e isso não tem como mudar pela estrutura do hotel). O café da manhã é bem simples, só vale a pena pagar se você não tiver tempo de parar por perto para comer.
O quarto era ok, cama boa e confortável e lençóis limpos. o chuveiro vazava água e molhava o banheiro todo. A localização é ótima. O ponto mais forte.

Worst than a prison cell (don’t ask me how I know this), the pictures make this place look way bigger, room itself is about 75 square feet, no room to put your luggage anywhere, no room to walk even to get around the bed, i literally had to put my luggage in the bathroom!!!! Chinese guy at front desk extremely unfriendly and moody. No privacy, had to explain myself when I had someone come to my room to pick me up. Please don’t go by the pictures on Expedia!!! The room is NOT what they show, I wound up not even sleeping there for the 3 nights I booked it was so bad,I couldn’t do it!!!!

This hotel was ideal for a short stay in Paris. It was only a few minutes walk from the Arc de Triomphe, the metro and the train that takes you directly to Disneyland. It also has some lovely restaurants just minutes away. The staff were helpful. We availed of the continetal breakfast on one of the mornings of our stay and it was lovely and just €9. The room had all we needed with bathroom products, a hair dryer and a mini fridge. The only issue we had with the hotel was that it was quite noisy. You could hear people in the corridor and a group of men talking loudly in the corridor woke us up at about 6am. Other than the issues with noise this hotel was ideal for a short stay in Paris.

Argentine metro stop right outside the door. Beautiful Portuguese café with terrace next door. Lots of dining options on that street (Grande Armée), and excellent supermarkets and cheap eateries round the corner on Acacias. Breakfast was fresh croissant and hunk of bread with plastic pots of jam/individual butter portions, good coffee from machine, later to open that advertised on Sunday morning. Don't like having to leave room key and ask for it every time you leave/return, but at least the front desk is open 24 hours, and the night receptionist couldn't have been smilier.

Terrible place to stay, dirty rooms not clean between guest, there was rotten food inside refrigerator and replacements towels on a cart on hallway exposed . Not a safe hotel for Covid times and for sure it's not a 3 stars ! I booked 3 days, did the check in ans came right away to the front desk and asked them to cancel it. They agreed for me to stay one night and cancel the other 2 nights. The net they this all changed, they said they would not cancel it and I had to pay the 3 nights . Terrible place, terrible management !

There was loud construction that woke up up every morning of our stay at around 8 AM. The hotel didn't even list it was under renovation or that it's building was that was quite annoying and disappointing. You could feel and hear the walls being drilled into it was loud and i'm a heavy sleeper and it still woke me. I also wasn't a fan of them keeping the key. when ever you leave the hotel for the day/night every time they require you to return the key to the front desk and pick it up again when you return. I do hear that is a practice some places i'm just not comfortable relying on a front desk to get access to my own belonging everyday. I wish i had been made aware of that before my booking i would have booked somewhere else.

Lovely small property in prime location of Paris!

Lovely small property in one of the best locations of central Paris. The hotel is perfect for visiting attractions by foot or public transport. I loved the location, 5 minutes to Arch of Triumph, and Champs-Elysees. It's amazing. Shops nearby and the metro station Argentine, just on your doorstep. I haven't used public transport on my trip, as the weather was very nice, and I preferred to stroll on the great boulevards of Paris, mon amour. The room was small, but decent, very clean, and had everything you need, including a small bottle fridge, which was perfect. Bed was very comfortable, a large single bed, as I stayed in a single room. Nice wardrobe with metallic hangers, TV, desk, and a freshly renovated bathroom, very modern. Breakfast is very basic, literally croissants, baguette, butter, jam, Nutella, milk and cereals, coffee and tea machine. Reception open 24 hours. I reckon the hotel is still under refurbishment, as there were construction materials downstairs next to the breakfast room. I was able to leave my luggage at the hotel after check out, which was very helpful. Overall, Marmotel hotel is a great choice for a short trip to Paris, if you want a fair price for a prime central location. I will definitely go back to this property. I would like to thank again to the hotel staff for all their help, and also the housekeeper, who has done a great job. Merci beacoup, Marmotel Étoile Hôtel! À tout alors!

The room was small but comfy and clean. The wifi is good within the hotel. The only thing is that when you request to have your luggage stored they keep it in an area where anybody can just grab it and take it. I asked to have mine held for a few hours after check out for an late flight and they just fut it to the side against the wall when I told them anybody can take it from there they just pointed to a camera saying they have 24 hr surveillance... There is a wall between the front desk and where they keep the bags and never check to confirm that the bag you are taking is yours.

Great location, easy access to all sites, by bus or metro. Walking along The Champs Élysées was fab, seeing all the fashion houses e.g Dior, Valenino, Chanel, Gucci etc; was surreal. The architecture of churches, and landmarks absolutely amazing. The view from the Arc de Triomphe (280 steps to climb up, there is a lift for those less able to walk up) overlooking the Eiffel is terrific ( a must see and do), especially the night cruise along the Seine. Shops open til late, cafes and restaurants, patisseries all short walking distance. Paris is expensive, a can of coke is more expensive than a bottle of wine! Depends on what your lifestyle is. For anything less expensive take a bus ride to the suburbs.

1. No air conditioner. Suited in the summer and feel like living in the oven...
2. I paid my toom on hotel.com, but when I checked in, the staff told me the room was not paid for. I insisted that it’s already been paid so the staff said they will check again and let us go to our room first. I was not asked to pay for the room.

I would say this hotel is pretty average. The AC didn't work, but there was a fan that seemed to suffice. The room was pretty small, but for only two people it was okay. There was only one outlet and it only worked when the light was turned on. It was a good hotel though and a great location. Right down the road from the Arc de Triomphe and there is a metro stop right outside the front door. Overall decent stay!

Good location...

Overall the best part of this hotel was the location, very convenient for the metro. However the hotel itself seemed very damp, for example I found the humidity to be higher in the room than outside, but I didn’t feel comfortable opening the window because I was on the ground floor and it opened to a courtyard and there would have been nothing preventing somebody from just jumping in my room. I also found it odd that you left your key at the front desk whenever you would leave the hotel.

Great little hotel in a great location and good value for money. Only minor drawback is the room could do with a desk fan as can get quite stuffy on hot evenings, and wifi is a bit flakey upstairs, but overall I really enjoyed my stay here and will definitely go back. Oh and please install a sensor light in the stairway as it's a bit dangerous trying to navigate it in the dark.

Cozy

It was just the right hotel for me. Cozy yet close to the Arc the Triomphe. Did the Paris marathon and what a perfect little place to stay at.

\"Magnifique\" stay in Paris

I love the location of this hotel. My room was a bit small. Comfortable. Not renovated. Was convenience for my stay. Very close to the metro station. Walking distance to Camps Elysees.
I do not recommend breakfast since is very expensive for what it is. You can have the same for 1/2 of the price. There is a Boulangerie at the corner of the hotel.

Outstanding location and quality of service!

The stay exceeded my expectations! Entry to the metro was right there! Hotel was very clean! The personell was extremely professional! Great location in the city!

Good night of sleep in Paris

The hotel was ok. It was a very tight room only comparable to stays in Hong Kong. However the location was excellent. The bed was great, clean, and to my surprise it was quiet for sleep time. The hotel looked a but run down but everything working. It served our purpose for a good night of sleep before embarking to a Europe tour. The staff was friendly and courteous. The breakfast was the classic Paris continental breakfast but was convenient. I wish it opened a half hour earlier. Good stay, convenient would be the keyword.
