It was in a very handy location, It delivered more than I expected to be honest. Made to feel welcome. Only complaint was an inconsiderate person talking loudly on his cellphone outside my door instead of doing it in his own unit - which would have been the logical thing to do, without exception or debate.

Great location! Good hotel.

We traveled as a couple and stayed 2 nights. It is a bit dated and an older hotel, but it was perfectly adequate for our needs. We spent hardly anytime in the hotel while we explored Rotorua and the surrounding areas, and the hotel was nicely located for that. Room was spacious and clean, but a bit dated. The front desk check in was very smooth and the staff were all incredibly polite, helpful, and nice! There was no AC, but they had a fan in the room which we used and was fine for us traveling during the summer months. Breakfasts is included, but it is basic continental: breads, jams/jelly, butter toaster, yogurt, orange juice, coffee, Milk, and basic cereal.
Good hotel, would absolutely stay again!

Central to all the attractions and the town. A big shopping area with all the large warehouse stores just opposite. Easy access to major routes. The parking was a bit tight and there was some road noise. The staff were extremely good and were keen to answer any questions and provide anything asked for.

Third time I have stayed at this motel and will continue to come to this motel. Friendly staff, nice decor, convenient to shops and activities, walkable distance to supermarkets and nice bedding. Needs a few small repairs and a bit of gardening done but doesn't affect stay. Look forward to next visit.

We checked in after hours and they gave us clear instructions on how to get our room key which was super easy. We were in an upstairs unit no.10 and it was nice and clean but the toilet was in need of an upgrade. The water pressure of the shower was terribly weak and took so long to heat up. Very comfy bed though and we appreciated the warm heater on the cold nights. Didn't get a chance to try the free breakfast between 8-9am. But I think the price we paid was fair for what you get and the location is great.

Accolade Lodge is OK

No one was in the front office and I had to wait a long time to be acknowledged during check-in although the staff was efficient once they did help me. The room was clean but in need of some improvements, it felt a little run down for the price. Some paint and finishing touches to smooth some rough edges on the cabinets would help. There's a grocery store across the street (across the large parking lot) and it's only a 1/2 mile walk to the main shopping area which is great because parking's a nightmare down there. It's only slightly further to walk to the Polynesian Spa although you may be so relaxed you don't want to walk back so a drive might be more convenient. There's a free continental breakfast but the sign at the front desk says it's $8 so that's confusing and some of the staff wasn't sure if it was included or not. The parking is tight so if you have a large vehicle or camper van you won't be able to park in the lot. Not sure if there's street parking as no one was parked on street. They have 2 levels so if you have trouble with stairs you should request a lower unit. I didn't have any trouble with noisy neighbors.

Clean room, short walk from the busy part of the city. Quiet location. The bed was very comfortable, the main room well appointed apart from not having an armchair or settee. You either sit on a metal stool, or the bed, or outside on a garden chair. A double and a single bed in the room. The bathroom was fine, but is in need of updating. A light breakfast is included.

We enjoyed our stay, beds and linen lovely. Breakfast good and nicely presented for us to help ourselves. Staff welcoming and friendly. May need some form of ventilation for higher temperatures. We were fine with our door open but wouldn't always feel safe. Fans perhaps. Wifi was good too this time.

Helpful Property Manager who offer some good suggestions on things to see and do while spending some time in Rotorua. As for the room, it was of reasonable size with a tiny kitchenette, there was a heat panel on the wall, which guest could use to dry laundry and there was also a heater to keep the room warm as there is no air-conditioning.

Fantastically helpful staff, reasonably practical layout for a small room, but bathroom in poor condition with rotting wood at base of door/shower and shelves hanging off the wall not properly secured. When windows closed, a dank smell builds up giving the choice of leaving window open all day or coming back to a funky-smelling room that needed aired out again.

This hotel is close to many types of amenities, such as grocery stores, mall stores, gasoline/petrol bars, a few restaurants and liquor stores. The hotel is also fairly close to the main street, which has the information travel office, tour guide offices, and signage for the beach, city park and trail options. We didn't have a vehicle and were able to walk or bus to navigate our way around the city.

Good location next to Rotorua Central shopping centre. Within walking distance of the town centre and Government Gardens. Breakfast was nice as were the staff. Only complaint was that the window opening at the front often let in smoke from people smoking on the balcony. Room was clean and included a microwave, kettle, and toaster. Friendly Staff and good location

The staff was super friendly and helpful giving us advice on places to eat and things to see in the area. The Location is also great being only a short walk to the town center. The downside is, at least the room we had, it looked like they were in the middle or repainting the walls and just stopped. There were patches of spackle all over and the grout, caulking, and shower head in the bathroom needed some serious attention.

Why do I need to write my credit card number down?

Not happy that they asked me to write down my credit card number on the reservation page they printed out. They claimed it was for their records. Beware of this. We really expected a bit more. Our room was very small. The room was tidy. Office opens at 8 in the morning which is annoying if you need something. Wouldn't stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Accolade. It was central to everything we needed to access, on a quiet street opposite a shopping centre where we could get groceries. Only a short walk into the city centre. The free breakfast didn't have much choice (toast, basic cereal or sliced peaches / pineapple), but it saved us some money at least. Free WiFi was great

Good for a stay in Rotoura!

A good location to base yourself in Rotoura. The motel is about a 10-15 minute walk to the centre. Everyone is friendly - especially the lady owner even organising for me to have breakfast brought to my room as I was checking out early! She was very knowledgable about the local area giving tips and suggestions of activities!

This is good for a short overnight stay but is in need of
serious updating and not trying to put a queen bed and
a twin in a space for only the queen. Was not comfortable
for relaxing in the room. no chairs only two all metal stools

Nice hotel with comfortable rooms. Good amenities.
Having to buy internet was not expected. You got
two short internet usages coupons and then had
to buy it for 24 hours at a time.Beautiful Pool was
said to be heated with solar. It was too cold to swim
in. Had a hot tub but you had to make an appointment
to use it. It was in a separate room. Our stay was
nice otherwise. It was a close walk to everything.
It was near several local attractions.

We had a queen bed room. Very little shelf/counter space. We put our bags on the 2 stools. There was also a soft chair. No closet. 4 hangers on the wall hooks. The room configuration is glass front with bath & utility cove across the back. Unless you open the curtains in the front, it is practically a windowless room. The only shelf in the bathroom is a 3X15 inch one above the sink. The shower has a curtain but no door. The marble/tile floor gets wet & slippery.Outlets are not well placed. Needed to use the utility cove or the power strip at the head of the bed for the electric blanket for charging.. No free outlet where the TV is. This will give you a better idea when you see the photos on the web sites. Appraisal of the breakfast depends on where you came from. However the coffee was not of good quality & OJ did not look appealing. Location wise, there are several other motels in the area. And 1-2 blocks away on Fenton St, there are numerous motels.
Overall we felt that the room was OK for sleep but not for one to unwind & vegetate after a day of activities.

This was my first stay at this accom.
I will definitely be staying here again on future visits. We left tbe car at the motel and walked everywhere. Its very close to everything. The room was clean, comfortable, warm, continental brekky was included and good and staff lovely.

Retreat away from home.

Enjoyed the locality and the staff were lovely. Wifi was down for some of my stay but was due to Spark the provider but the staff were so apologetic when is was beyond their control. Decor of room was nice, possibly a few more updates needed but still a pleasant place to stay. Compact.

Budget hotel at Rotorua, New Zealand

This was a freezing cold stay and I did not sleep the first night. There was no air conditioner, only a non functioning, antiquated panel heater. The manager gave me a heater next day but it was not really safe to leave it unattended in such a confined space. I spent a lot of time in bed with the electric blanket on!

The manager was always willing to help by taking me to bus stops and making bookings for events. I have never met a manager who was so efficient and helpful and kind.

The motel is a little run down but the manager and staff made up for everything. The price is right also.

Okay if it is just for a night.

Stayed for 3 nights during the winter period. Our room is not too air tight and the heater isn't effective against the cold wind that blew in. Fortunately, the bed is installed with heater that kept us through the chilly nights.

Amenities wise are below the standard. Maybe this is the standard for all the motels? We are not too sure as this was our first motel experience. Insufficient space for us to place our necessities (I.e toothbrushes etc).

Breakfast is alright from the look of it. We weren't able to give any constructive comments over here as we had our breakfast outside.

The best of all, receptionist is very friendly and share a few discount brochures with us.

It is an experience for us though. Will probably think twice to go back for the second time.

We booked a room for three nights for three. The rate was $120 per night. In my opinion, it is worth half that price.

The two beds almost filled the entire room. There was hardly any place to put our bags. In fact, we had to put our suitcases upright and open only one at a time. There were no chairs, just two stools. Our backs ached sitting on them. We ended up lying on the bed while we were in the room. There were just four hangers for hanging clothes and then they were hung right on the wall.

There was just one free power socket. We had to take turns charging our phones and laptops.

The bathroom had no towel bars. There was just a single hook for hanging things and we dare not hang anything on it because it seemed it would fall any time and put our clothes on the dirty floor. The walls and floor were always wet because of condensation. It looks like they did not know that there is such a thing called an exhaust fan.

The free breakfast was close to being lousy. There was bread and a couple of toasters, which was fine. The coffee was VERY STALE. I am thinking that they were heavy into recycling coffee. I have had better coffee at gas stations in the United States. So if you are going for this breakfast for coffee, don't bother. The marmalade was just sweet and didn't really have any other taste. There was not much choice with respect to cereals. The orange juice was not particularly good

i don't know how this place could have gotten 3.9/5. It is not worth more than 1.25

The motel was adequate for what we needed. Staff were friendly, however, when we were running late and contacted them they did not return the call so were were concerned that we would not get into the room. on arrival, there was a note waiting for us so all was good.
Room was on the small side but was very tidy and comfortable. The free breakfast was an added bonus.
