Room nicely decorated and clean, no coffee/tea facilities no complimentary water in the room which you would expect from the 5* hotel. Corner of the bath , part of the panel was broken, had a big hole. Breakfast wasn't exciting- cheap food (selection of meat and sausages), even cakes did not taste very nice . They had loud music till midnight which was ok but it would of been good to be made aware of it.

We had a lovely big room, and breakfast was lovely.. However what ruined it for us was the hotel bar was closed to residents as apparently there was a private function.. I felt this was not good enough and looked forward to relaxing in the bar/lounge area after a long day exploring Prague.. This happened both nights at our stay.. The reception staff were not helpful and one of the said the bar would be open that evening, the same again happened, it was closed... The ambassador hotel should not advertise their hotel with a bar/lounge or at least let residents know in advance it will be closed.

The hotel was charming and well-established, and our room was beautifully decorated. We were so glad we chose to stay at a traditional hotel instead of a modern one, as it really fit the atmosphere of Prague. The breakfast had a great variety of delicious dishes, too.

Poor and tired room with cheap and damaged old European style furniture. Bathroom did not offer a shower curtain and the floor was not cleaned of hair from previous stay. Typical mold in corners and a broken tiles on the side of the bath tub. Would not recommend.

The bad: Hotel condition is a bit outdated. The first two days we didn’t feel air conditioning even we were told it was centrally maximized. The last night the cold air blowed to my face all night and couldn’t be adjusted. Overall I would expect a much more comfortable stay for a 5-star hotel.

Muy mala experiencia,lo único bueno del hotel es su ubicación.
Sucio,mala predisposición,no me dieron adaptador para la computadora salvo si pagaba 18 euros,no te dan agua en la habitación,te hacen dejar un depósito de 100 euros,bañera que no te podes mover,no anda el aire ya que es central y si alguien pide que lo apaguen y vos tenés calor te dicen que te dan un ventilador.
Se supone que es un hotel 4 estrellas,creo que no tiene más de 1 y solo por la ubicación.

When I arrived at the hotel, the staff took over an hour to get the room ready. The reception hall was a mess and only two people were working at the front desks.
The hotel doesn’t seem to have been renovated in the past 30 years. It is clean but the decor is dated, the rugs are faded and broken and there was no AC in my very hot room. Prague is a very busy city and understandably so quite noisy. That said, the window isolation in the room was terrible and I heard tambourine playing, screaming and talking throughout the late hours… the hotel did not have ear plugs to offer guests.

The hotel was in an excellent location, but that's pretty much all that is good about it. It was very dated with staff that was non interested in doing their job (took forever for someone to see us at check in, the team at the breakfast room seemed to be running around but neither the empty tables were cleaned, nor the empty plates refilled). The room itself was ok. The closet was quite dusty inside (especially the door rail) and the safe didn't work at all.

Great central location, but hotel and rooms are old and shows signs of it.
The beds was very hard, and the springs pushed through, I woke up every night because one of the springs was pushing on my ribs so it hurt.
The shower head was partly broken, so water ran out the side, and it not building pressure.

The pictures of our rooms showed view of the square, yet our rooms only had windows to the back side.

Wouldn't stay there again.

We absolutely loved this hotel! The location cannot be beat and the all you can eat breakfast buffet was a perfect start to the adventurous days!

The only thing we were not happy with was not knowing about the 25€/day parking fees. If we would have known, it wouldn’t have been such a big deal- but we are not one to like surprises.

First time in Prague

Very conveniently located near a metro stop at the intersection of two lines, and on Wenceslas Square. The original Srnec black light theatre is right around the corner. The hotel is a little worn, but it is old so you get used to it if you can appreciate the grandeur of the hotel. No particular issues with the wifi in the room. Daily cleaning and restocking of rooms was usually fine, but could vary a bit from day to day. A piece of chocolate left on your pillow at night was a nice touch. Breakfast buffet was expansive, and service in the breakfast room was attentive. Room included a safe big enough to hold small laptops and other items of value. No iron or ironing board (but they'd do that or laundry for you for a fee). Must be pretty well soundproofed because I don't remember issues of hearing people in adjacent rooms. A comfortable place to come back to in the evening.

The hotel has a pretend grandeur , but it has very fatigued look.
The staff seems always stressed out, very matter delay facto. We didn't feel welcome.
We left our luggages at the hotel, and found one of them with the handle destroyed. We brought it up to the manager, she said that she cannot do anything about it, and left us in the middle of the reception, telling us that she is too busy with other guests.

That was a good experience overall. However, first night we didn't get the room we ordered. Also, you have to walk a few steps to a pair of a very small elevators. Junior suite was pretty good, but no TV in the bedroom and not enough light in the bath. Location is amazing with the walking distance to almost every possible attraction. Overall it was a pretty good experience. Will recommend.

The location was very central to shopping and events, the buffet breakfast was above average. Unfortunately, the hotel front desk controls the heating/air units for the building and they turn the air conditioning OFF at night! The room was very hot and I had to change to a room where I could open the windows and they brought me a fan. This was at 2am, very inconvenient and to add insult to injury, the front desk clerk was rude.
I checked to Phone extensions and the hotel info book in the room to contact the front desk about this issue and 0 didn’t reach the operator. I got dresses, went downstairs and asked how to contact them by phone, he told me, “it is very plainly stated if I had looked that it was 122. He also told me there was nothing wrong with the room I had. I had to insist on a new room. Brought me two fans, one worked the other was broken.

Fab Location in the heart of Prague

The hotel is in the perfect location for a visit to Prague - the old town is on the doorstep, there is an abundance of shopping options and there are plenty of eating options within walking distance. There was no AC in the room, which made sleeping uncomfortable during the hot nights, but the staff - without being asked - provided two electric fans by the beds to cool the room. A nice touch.

The old-style lift is complemented by a modern elevator but you will often be left waiting, especially if there are large tour groups staying.

Overall it's a pleasant, old-school hotel experience with tasty breakfast options and friendly staff.

From Zlata Husa, which means Golden Goose, people expect golden eggs. Well, I got them; flew in early and tired, got a great room without waiting, relaxed in a in-room whir-pool tab, had a great czech-cousine lunch at Pincasu per a receptionist recommendation. The hotel-run Thai massage was also great.

Very nice hotel, the central location was brilliant and the varieties of the breakfast were great. The room was very comfort and we slept very comfortably every night. However, some staff at the reception were not very friendly and the tall waiter at the reception bar was very rude, they need to learn the basics of how to welcome somebody to a renowned 4* hotel.

The hotel is no where close to a 5 star hotel. It's closers to a 2 star hotel and that is being nice. The room is old and outdated. The beds suck and aren't big enough for 1 person. I ordered a queen bed and got some small single bed. I arrived at hotel at 11 am cause that's when my flight landed. They said I couldn't check into 2 which I can understand. When I got there at 11 and tried to check in I told them I have a car and need to park and they said no problem. When I checked in they said they were out of parking. Hotel overall is garbage. Only good thing about it is it is in center of town by lots of things to do

Not a 5 star, not even close, I will start with the positive, there is 1 porter don't remember his name, he is fantastic, very helpful and friendly, he is a credit to the hotel, also huge shout out to all of the cleaning staff, they all acknowledged us with smiles and hello's, also a credit to the hotel, that's it for positive oh and the location is great.
The front desk came across very rude and unfriendly, no direction at all, breakfast staff and waiters were terrible, rude, unhelpful, we were supposed to sitting in the VIP section as we were staying in a suite, we were not told this, casino is a joke, can't comment on spa as we were not told anything about it, not even where it was, we primarily booked this hotel for location and the fact they had smoking rooms, NOT, only found out at check in that all rooms were non smoking, they need to update their website on that. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would never go back.

The hotel was not as expected, room condition was poor, water all over the bathroom since we got in, one person in the reception only and a long queue of people. Had to wait 15 minutes for them to call the house keeping to check the minibar in the room whilst checking out, and finally paid 450 Czech koruny = 18.50 USD for three bottles of water, I mean come on really...

Very disappionting. Very old & not pleasent hotel

Booked 2 days in advance. The hotel was old, furniture and structure, room was OK but definitey not in a 5 stars class. Not cheap next to similar. Not a good area, and the hotel itself gives a not so pleasent and comfortable feeling.
We canceled the second day but couldn't get a refund on the 1st so stayed one night and left. Wouldn't recommend it.

This is a 3 star hotel - strongly recommend reading all the reviews thoroughly, which I wish I had because we stayed for 3 nights. Also felt misled by the \"discounted\" price on hotels.com because the regular price was for a 5 star hotel.

Pros: Excellent location. Cannot ask for a better location. Room view overlooked main street which I liked. Staff was friendly enough.

Cons: No air conditioning (they say central air, but not strong enough / if after summer, shouldn't be a problem). Not all the outlets were working. Outdated room.

This hotel has no air conditioning. We requested a cooler room and were moved but it was just as hot. Unbearable! Slept under a wet towel! Other guests complained to us as well. Thank goodness it was only for one night. Don't book there in summer.

Location is all this hotel has going for it...it is in a great spot.

We stayed here last week for three nights when temperatures were in the upper 90s (30s). There is no AC. We slept horribly for 3 nights. To get a break from the heat we actually had lunch at the Intercontinental (a hotel we should have chosen!) The showers are a joke too...smallest shower I have even washed in. Anyone overweight may not fit.

I understand temperatures were significantly higher than normal, but I was never as happy as I was when we were leaving!

No air conditioning the whole stay - management said that the temps are normally not so high and the air conditioning system was an old one and were looking to upgrade it - they gave us a small fan to compensate for the stifling heat in the room.

If you are looking for the perfect experience, The Ambassador - Zlata Husa delivers on every level !!! Rooms are extremely spacious, meticulously clean, the center of all Prague's action, extremely friendly and kind staff. From the Ambassador you can walk to nearly any landmark in Prague1, staff will give best of recommendations. We never had to ask or anything, it was there when needed.

The tub was smaller than implied & lukewarm when filled. The drink coupon only worked for warm wine or juice. The breakfast was okay for fruit, only good if you like lots of meat and cheese for breakfast. No one picked up for room service. The Old Town Prague Hostel was much better and a third the cost.

The hotel had a perfect location to all of the sights in Prague. It's a shame that it is so run down and dirty. If you need to see a strip show, it's right next door and ladys of the night hang out in the lobby late in the evening. Also you get to enjoy the smoke hanging in the lobby and restaurant. Overall disappointed. The breakfast buffet was good. Just generally run down and carpets nasty. Was definitely a beautiful hotel at some point but it's been at least 25 years since that time. Only nice staff was the bellhop. I travel Europe and North America for my job, so I've seen it all. DONT RECOMEND!!!

We enjoyed staying in this hotel in Prague during our two weeks in Europe visiting 8 countries. We stayed in 8 different hotels throughout Europe and this hotel had the most to offer. Great location, nice staff, and best run breakfast buffet with such a wide variety of foods. Chef cooked omelettes,pancakes and crepes to order. There was always plenty of seating and no lines. They stored our luggage after check out. I also thought the price was reasonable. Would go back there and highly recommend.

Excellent location 50 meters from Green Metro line , big room, good and abundant breakfast, Kind staff,
I asked for quiet room and it was quiet but quit room does not have view and I knew it in advance .
8 minutes walking from the middle old city -The famous Prague clock .

The mattress is old and inconvenient
The WiFi in the room was weak and it was impossible to connect
Only in the lobby the the WiFi was good

Stay away from this hotel!!! Not only did the cleaning staff steal from us, but I was also harassed by a cook in the dining room for leaving a spoon in the food tray at the buffet. When I complained about the staff stealing, I was litteraly called a liar by the manager, who had absolutely no manners or training at all in customer service. The room was also very old, dingy and dirty. It took 40 minutes and 2 phone calls to get an iron/ironing board. Definitely NOT a 5 star hotel!!!!
