My main complain is stuff in SPA area. They were very rude to me and other people. Completly overzelous, bossy and ruining mood to everyone.

Scandinavian sauna was too cold (below 80C) and ice room didn't work.

Cocktails on 'happy hours' were £20 and Long Island Ice Tea tasted like sprite mixed with coke w/o alcohol :-/ I order once and wouldn't order it ever again.

On the opposite side - both spa and pool area were well mainteined and clean - much better then most hotels in this price range.

Breakfast was ok.

Basic room lacked electric sockets near bed and bathroom could be a bit better - it wasn't a problem but it was something that even hotels like premier inn offer on a better level.

Its high end with great decor and fab spa facilities. Our stay was somewhat spoiled by drunken guests and their friends in the next room making excessive noise and shouting between 12.30-2.30 am, keeping us awake, security was called twice to try and resolve and did offer us a rom change in the middle of the night which was not practical. On speaking to Harry the manager it appears this was not the only case that evening. The hotel should consider introducing a quiet policy after 12 with removal of clients who dont adhere, sadly a few spoil it for everyone else. We were offered a free late check out but as we had to leave our car park was reimbursed as a gesture of goodwill, which was appreciated.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff were very nice, pool and spa were lovely and food was good. My only complaint about the room would be that the bed was too hard.

The hotel is on a steep hill so if, like me, you have health issues you'll need to get a taxi back from the centre of Torquay.

This amazing hotel well surpassed our expectations. Beautifully modernised and equipped with quality fittings everywhere. Our stay coincided with some sunny hot weather so the outdoor pool, jacuzzi and bar facilities were in full use but still plenty of sun loungers and great service. New indoor pool and spa were simply fabulous, very clean, quiet and well maintained. Breakfasts were that perfect combination of extensive help yourself cold buffet and freshly cooked to order hot food from a super menu including my favourite Eggs Benedict. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel breakfast and spa was first class, we booked through expedia for a week and got a great price. The standard room view was terrible. Room 21 is to be avoided the view out of both windows was horrible. The laundry on one side and the fire escape on the other. I wonder if the hotel gives expedia the worst room? The hotel should tell you what to expect!!

This was the perfect getaway to relax and unwind . tranquil from start to finish . Spa was amazing , food was delicious and the cosy king room was perfect in size with a very comfy bed.

Was really disappointed with our stay , checking in was straightforward and the room was okay. We ordered a drink to the pool and they took over half an hour to arrive. Staff were rude when dealing with this issue. The following day after we left the hotel. The hotel took £100 from my bank account and accused us of smoking in our room when we certainly were not. We were on the down stairs floor with people smoking outside , therefore smoke was coming into our window. When trying to resolve this issue with the hotel. They were uncooperative and unprofessional , they refused to refund our funds. Will certainly not be visiting this hotel again.

A lovely hotel, some lovely staff but a couple seemed to not be having their best day on our arrival, nice spa, great location.

Food was not brilliant, no teaspoon on the tray in the room, mirror not well cleaned and torn net curtains. Housekeeping did make up our room but it looked a bit like my 17 year old son had a go at it.

This isn't a bad review as it's a hotel that could be a few very small changes from being perfect. Good central location yet quiet enough to have the windows open at nighttime. Two members of staff shone: Ade in the restaurant and Sam on reception, really friendly.

Adult only hotel .parking was ok .The room was clean but standard for the price . Had robes and slippers, bottle of water and tea making facilities. Bed was very comfortable.
Staff were very polite throughout the hotel Higher management in the bar should be more active if mistakes are made and not wait for a complaint to be made.
The spa was really lovely, but had just too many people and we had to sit on the floor with drinks , which wasn’t relaxing.Needs a bigger sitting area or even shelves to put drinks on .
We tried the spa again early in the morning which was much better and quieter . Pool was a nice temperature
Treatments were nice and staff were very friendly. Noisy floorboards above kind of spoils the relaxing music. For what we paid, everything was really expensive .

I knew I'd made the right choice of hotel from the moment I arrived. The receptionist was welcoming and friendly, the public rooms were gorgeous and tastefully decorated. Everything looked immaculate and gave a great first impression. I dined in the restaurant one evening and the meal was one of the best I've had in a while. The waiting staff are perfect - attentive but not over-bearing.

The spa facilities were wonderful. Overall, a fabulous stay and I'd definitely book again.

I recently visited the spa at the Lincombe Hall Hotel in Torquay to celebrate my birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.

The spa was extremely overcrowded, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the facilities. We ended up staying for only around 45 minutes because it simply wasn’t a pleasant environment.

More concerning, however, was the condition of the water. Both myself and my friends experienced significant eye irritation while in the pool, to the point where our eyes were red and stinging. As it was my birthday, this completely affected my evening plans, as I had to go out feeling uncomfortable with visibly red eyes.

I raised this issue with the hotel staff, but the response was dismissive. I was told that the water had been checked and was “fine,” but there was no apology or acknowledgment of our experience, which was very disappointing.

Overall, this was not the relaxing or enjoyable spa visit I had hoped for, especially on a special occasion.

Only slight criticism is that we found the menu for dinner in the restaurant quite restrictive with no specials available. Food was fine but options not great.

Would definitely return to hotel but wouldn't have evening meal there again.

The communal areas are all nicely done up and modernised. It is a shame about the rooms as they had dated technology in them and the aesthetic didn't match what you were led to believe when entering the hotel.

I find it also a bit annoying that you had to pay £15 per night for parking when I had already paid to stay there. £15 a night in Torquay? A bit steep... I have driven down from York - where else would I park? What is the reason for it? There were so many spaces there to park too. I get that sometimes people may park there to go into town as it is fairly close, but surely people staying at the hotel should be excluded.

The staff were all really friendly and there were some excellent vegan options too.

Bad points - not allowed to vape outside on the terrace when we ordered drinks (no one else there), drinks ridiculously expensive, pepsi and glass of rose wine £15!! Parking overnight £15! Made us scared to even try the spa facilities as god knows what we would been charged as 'extra'. So if you go here be prepared for extra charges. Wasnt such a 'great deal' as we thought. Very bland experience overall we ended up going off the complex to find a local pub where we enjoyed a drink outside as weather was marvellous. Shame, as the actual place is lovely and nice view's.

The spa is excellent, our 2nd time visiting, it was a bit busier give it was a Friday evening and as a result there was a shortage of loungers. The better spas I’ve been to in Europe often have complimentary teas which would make for a nice addition.

We stayed in a refurbished room which was an odd layout, with the bed directly next to the door. The bathroom was massive but didn’t seem to have been refurbished. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was average for the cost of the stay.

Disappointed to be charged £15 for parking after paying £187 for a night.

Booked Apartment 2 (4 persons) & room within main hotel for a parents birthday treat, paid for extra’s including birthday cake & chocolates. Sadly on arrival the apartment’s cleanliness was very poor ( mould in fridge, food debris on shelving) mould, hair etc in shower & grime in sink, toaster crumbs (lots) & debris on worktops, lots of hair, a dow rod, ash, & huge amounts of dust, dirty carpets, unacceptable in all ways, as was the room allocated in hotel, this was an old style room with dirty bedding, very poor fitting loose carpet & in desperate need of deep clean, the cake was embarrassing despite notifying hotel of occasion the Victoria sponge was approx 4” completely plain… a very basic £2 supermarket Victoria sponge would have been elaborate in comparison… The initial upheaval & distress caused on arrival knowing our mother was due to arrive to be faced with this was very upsetting, we were eventually offered 3 alternative rooms within the hotel itself, the cleanliness within these was to a higher standard than original rooms however all the rooms still need decor & cleanlinessattention and do not come up to a standard of a 4 star hotel. There is complimentary water and beverage tray, hairdryer I’m dressing down and flip-flops provided for the spa.
The spa area had good facilities offering a number of treatments. Beverages were available being delivered to the spa at an additional cost the facilities and cleanliness appear to be much higher than the main Hotel.

The spa had good facilities, especially the hydropool, but somewhat limited on loungers and chairs. The staff were efficient and friendly. The restaurant lacked ambiance, especially when residents were passing through in their spa robes.We purchased an item from the spa, which was at a higher price than that as advertised in the room. We mentioned this at the time of purchase, but was obviously expected to pay the higher price; this needs to be addressed, especially given Trade Descriptions issues.

This hotel was a great find in Torquay. 10min walk from the Harbour/ Beach although note to others it’s up a steep hill.

The spa was fantastic and even better within the price of room, you are given towels, bath robes and flip flops to use which was a lovely touch. Ladies - not only are there hair dryers but hair straighteners in the spa changing room!

We didn’t eat at the Hotel so can’t advise but the tea/coffee tray has an endless selection of herbs teas, coffee and hot chocolate.

Our room was on the ground floor by the roadside and you couldn’t hear anyone so lovely and quiet.

Will definitely return when we have a night free from the kids!

The spa is good, with a few different sauna rooms available. Breakfast was nice. Outdoor area is great, especially on a nice day.

The room was quite noisy due to the proximity to the kitchen. Having to pay £15 for parking we thought was quite steep and usually included in the price of the stay.

Please move the smoking area away from the entrance - multiple times we were forced to inhale other people's smoke when entering and exiting.

This is our second time at this hotel. We really enjoyed it the first time which is why we came back. The beds are extremely uncomfortable and the pillows are way too soft, No neck support. Overall stay was nice but the fact that we slept badly, we won’t be back. Our room also overlooked the staff stairs and the laundry room. Not quite what we expected. All and all- was ok.

Fabulous adults only property with stunning spa facilities. Excellent food, reasonable bar prices and friendly staff. We did ask to move rooms and (loud dripping from drainpipes just outside the room which was very annoying given the pouring rain) this was accommodated immediately. Nice to park in the hotel grounds, but £15 per day is a little excessive, although appreciate it is secure and monitored. Heated towel rail in the bathroom is way too small to accommodate bath towels and spa towel, especially if the spa towel isn’t changed. However, we would go back and definitely make use of the wonderful spa facilities.

Rating based entirely on the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the fantastic spa facilities. There was work going on while we were there which was a minor inconvenience but the room we stayed in was the real let down. Dated and uncared for. The bathroom was poorly finished and the shower was not the cleanest. The flooring was lifting and squishy in places and the room itself smelt of damp. We ended up using the spa showers in the end which were superb. Scoffs and marks all over the bedroom walls. The terrace was not much to write home about either.

Worth a visit

Would visit again, food is lovely and room was clean. Shower worked well and plenty of tea and coffee in the room. Food and drink is very expensive though. Spa was clean and relaxing. Torquay town has become run down so not many of the main stores exist anymore. Car parking is £15 a day so best to find parking on the street. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We are a couple from north Somerset wanting a relaxing weekend and thats what we definitely got! From the day we arrived sat 2nd nov the staff we so helpful on reception and very easy to locate our room .

The Spa was fantastic! 5* from all the different spa rooms to our facials on the sunday ,this was also very , very relaxing.
We booked breakfast also on the sunday very easy and relaxed and loada to choose from the full English was amazing!

Absolutely fantastic stay. Could not fault it. It was a very pleasant surprise as I wasn’t sure what to expect by the photos, but I can honestly say I would gladly stay again. All the facilities were excellent, the spa was amazing, the gym was very good and the outdoor jacuzzi and lounge area were lovely. You’d think you were abroad. I must say I didn’t eat dinner whilst staying, but I did have breakfast which has a very good selection, I had eggs Benedict one morning and traditional English the next. Can’t fault it. The room was spacious and functional with a walk In shower and a very nice bed. At first I thought the £220 a night stay was a little steep, but on reflection it’s 100 percent worth it. Would definitely stay again.

I had a classic room and although the bathroom was in a bit of disrepair it was clean and had a hot shower over the bath. The bed was clean and comfortable and there was an aircon unit in the bedroom which was a nice touch. The reception and dining area was good. The breakfast had standard buffet options and cooked breakfast menu. They had little shot glass smoothies which I hadn’t seen in other hotels and I thought this was different and nice. The main attraction for me was the pool/spa facilities, they were fantastic! The Himalayan salt room was a highlight, along with the Ice room and the clean loungers, the staff were very friendly and both girls smartly dressed. I would go back to this hotel just to go to this area it was wonderful. The hotel was in walking distance of Torquay town and had plentiful parking on site. Will definitely revisit.

The hotel was fine. However, be warned, there is a £15.00 charge for you to park in their car park, yes, you heard correctly £15.00. I was saddened that this is the case for a paying guest. We dodnt eat at the restaurant in the evening purely because we felt we fidnt want to spend anymore money to them. We ate out instead. Would i stay again? Nope....15.00 to park the car? Not a chance. Absolutely incredible hotel/spa friendly and welcoming team throughout, nothing was too much trouble. The spa had loads of rooms ice,aromatherpay,salt aswell as a hydro and fitness pool, they also have a lovely although shallow outdoor pool and jacuzzi where i spent most of my time.
Great food at the resteraunt you even get a voucher for money off the afternoon tea which was so yummy i couldnt finish it all so the team boxed it up for later!
The only minor downsides to the trip were the rooms which some are yet to be upgraded there was peeling wallpaper and a musty smell, it's worth baring in mind theres a fair few steps to get throughout the hotel for those with mobility issues.The beds themselves were a dream so cosy!!!
A huge shout out and thank you to the team as a solo traveller they made me feel ao comfortable. Already looking at booking again!

Not overly impressed. Should have read the reviews first. We had the room with the generator outside the window! Don’t really need to repeat what has already been said in other reviews Breakfast was very disappointing, looked anemic and was not hot. Shame really as it’s a beautiful property.

Stayed for 2 nights, the spa facilities were excellent although there was no availability for treatments - it was a short notice trip so no time to book in advance. Room was good, clean, bathroom was a bit tired but the shower was strong. Service was good although we were not that impressed with the happy hour cocktail (possibly a bit weak)

Dont go for the cosy bedrooms

Amazing staff, amazing service, amazing food and amazing spa. Unfortunately our bedroom let it down. It is clear to see that a lot of alterations have been made but we were disappointed with our bedroom which was obviously waiting for refurbishment. We knew the room was not going to be huge as advertised as cosy but you really couldn’t swing it cat. The bathroom was really small too. Both were very tired ( to say the least) and in my opinion shouldn’t be advertised or booked as it really let the hotel ( which could be excellent I guess eventually) down.
Having been in this business for many, many years I myself would not risk my hotels reviews be effected.
In my opinion we stayed where I could only explain as what it felt like staff quarters.

Lovely hotel and spa
The staff were excellant and very helpful. Room was very clean and cleaned daily. The only downside is, what I saved booking with Hotels.com I lost with the Hotels £15 a night parking charges. There's no charge if booking direct with hotel.

Fantastic hotel and spa.Rooms include bathrobes and flip flops and Temple Spa toiletries.Access to the pool facilities both indoor and outdoor included.Excellent facilities,decor,cleanliness and service.Cannot fault and would highly recommend.Superb value for facilities provided.

A beautiful property. Amazing staff. Stayed in a signature refurbished room, the bed was quite uncomfortable and hard. Bathroom large, shower a bit disappointing but overall a pleasant room. The templespa toiletries supplied were amazing and were available to buy. Breakfast at £15 each was a disappointment as limited pastries,yoghurts and fruit. No tea or coffee refils offered and the full english breakfast was quite small, I did not think it was worth the money.
Had an evening meal which was ok, the mains were mediocre and overpriced. The dessert better, cheesecake was delicious. Spa facilities fantastic. Treatments fabulous. Outside terrace area was lovely overlooking the pool and jacuzzi. The hotel is located on quite a steep hill and its downhill to the town centre which is about a 8 minute walk. Don't think its ideal for the less mobile, also I didn't see any facilities for disabled guests at the property. Overall a lovely relaxing break. I would visit again but probably wouldn't eat in. The best thing about it were the staff, they couldn't do enough for us.

Wonderful hotel, friendly staff, the room was great. Comfy bed, quiet air con, nice touches with bath robe and flip flops. Lighting was good too which is unusual. Food great in the bistro, and the spa was amazing will be back

A great hotel in beautiful grounds perfect for a couples get away. The staff are friendly and always there to help. The adults only allows for a more intimate feeling and approach. The spa facilities are top notch and we look forward to visiting again
