The Hotel is perfectly positioned with parking and an easy short stroll to the central harbour area with multiple restaurants, pubs, tourist facilities. The welcome was lovely, the room was large, bright with full en-suite facilities. Lovely shower really nice towels and bedding the bed was lovely and large very clean and comfortable. The hotel has a lovely well stocked bar underneath and on Saturday and Sunday afternoons some live music which was great. Having lived in the area years ago and knowing the layout of the town this friendly, family owned and operated hotel is perfect. We had a wonderful break and would definitely stay again. Oh must not forget the unlimited tea and coffee each morning in reception is a lovely touch. Thank You

Comfortable bed and free parking

Was surprised that our booking was for a couple and a single adult so the hotel gave the couple the room with the smallest bathroom and a single wardrobe.
Breakfast was very good and freshly cooked.
Daily housekeeping was not carried out it was only done every 2 days when the towels were changed.
The bed was large an comfortable but the sheets were too small which meant most of the night half the sheet was not underneath me.
Do bring your own tea and coffee as only the kettle and mugs are supplied.

Lovely 2 day away

This hotel is great for a few days break, a bit dated but the room was big, bed lovely and comfortable and facilities were way above many hotels, plenty of tea, coffe and milk, the breakfast is the best we have had in many hotels and the coffee great, the owners are friendly and always willing to help, will be using this hotel again

First impression of this hotel was that it was quite dated however we had a great room with sea wiew. The bed was enormous and the room was equipped with everything you need. Good tea tray and also a coffee machine with pods. The Griffin bar downstairs was really good with live entertainment in the afternoon. Bar staff very friendly and efficient. Breakfast in the morning was first class, best we have ever had in a hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again

Although I had a small single room, the bed was super comfortable, plenty of tea and coffee, good tv with lots of choice, hairdryer, iron and ironing board and a wonderful power shower. The room was quite warm even with the window open but there was an oscillating tower table fan in the wardrobe which was very much appreciated.
I didn’t book breakfast as I knew I would be having late nights (attending a music festival), so much preferred to lie in.
John, the property manager was very pleasant and helpful as were all other members of staff I met.
Really enjoyed my stay and definitely recommend.

Nice little hotel. Friendly welcome. Short walk to restaurants and pubs and marina. No outside food allowed inside the rooms due to \"smell\" so had to eat out, but does have its own restaurant downstairs. Small car park, which is basically a first come, first served basis. One issue before arriving was that payment was taken a week before we arrived, when i requested pay at property. Not a huge problem most of the time, but i dont like funds leaving my account when i requested pay at property for all my stays and this was taken early.

I was very happy with my stay here. I was surprised when ai arrived as my room
was upgraded. It was warm, airy, colourful and with plenty of light from the windows. Very clean and comfortable. I had a coffee machine and a tiny portable fridge in my room which was very handy.
Staff were very friendly.
The bar attached has a great atmosphere and plenty of live music.
I would definitely stay again.

Should you really call yourself a hotel?

Had to find a hotel in Torquay at very short notice, Easter weekend, to visit an elderly parent in a local hospital. So I couldn't spend too long looking and I'm sure most places would be fully booked.

Good points:

Close to town centre so easy to find and get to other places.

Was very clean.

Mattress / pillows very comfortable.

Once the karaoke / tribute band stopped early evening it was very quiet.

Good wifi strength and free.

Reasonable in-room tea and coffee make facilities.

Bad points:

Room did look a little disheveled, surprizing this early in the holiday season.

Heating only seemed to be switched on for a hour or two in the morning.

Room quite small, queen size bed didn't help.

Staff not the best, no one on reception and took their time to come when buzzer pressed.

At £55 a night, you can probably get a Travel-Inn, Travel lodge.

Good points:

This is a very nice hotel. The room was clean and had everything needed. Breakfasts were lovely and the Griffin bar was a nice place to wind down after a day of sightseeing. There was parking available as well. Even though there were other guests there was no room noise from the other rooms. Highly recommend this hotel and we will stay again if we return to Torquay.

Lovely hotel in ideal setting close to harbour. I booked this after stying here last year and I’ve already booked in for next year. I’m not a drinker so never used the bar so cannot comment. Can’t wait to come back again. If you can book in here do it. I’ve stayed in Torquay many times over the past 40 years and this is the best hotel by far and the closest I’ve stayed to the harbour.

Had a lovely stay at yardley manor, rooms were clean and comfortable, although the swimming pool and outside area were not accessible due to an issue with the pool on the whole the amenities were satisfactory with the griffin pub situated just below the hotel which had entertainment on over the weekend, its situation to Torquay town was very good being only a 10 min walk away from the harbour,bars and restaurants, on the whole we had a lovely weekend stay along the English Riviera

Great place for its price!

Great experience at the venue. Kind people, lovely breakfast.

Only problem is that the windows are pretty thin so you can hear what people are outside the room.

Also, because the soundproofing isnt the best, when theres live music the whole place literally vibrates - rendering it impossible to sleep

The hotel's in an ideal location for Torquay town centre with the harbour only a few minutes walk.
The room was clean and tidy with a very comfortable bed. The decor was quirky and colourful.
Although we only saw any staff when we checked in and at breakfast, they were very friendly. And the breakfast was very good!

Yardley Manor Hotel, just what I needed.

This is a traditional seaside hotel, slightly dated decor but clean and comfortable. The en suite was spacious and very clean, lovely fluffy white towels were provided. Remember to bring your own face flannel or sponge for the shower though! I cannot fault the staff, they were very friendly and helpful. My son picked me up from the train station and he was given a permit to park on site for the duration of my stay, just in case he needed to collect me from the hotel. Breakfast was full English or self service continental with a good variety of food available. Tea, coffee, orange and apple juice in plentiful supply. I have already recommended Yardley Manor Hotel to friends and I will definitely stay there again myself.

What a pleasant experience it was staying at Yardley Manor - the staff were all friendly and made sure that I had everything I needed. The location was great - just a short walk to the harbour and into the town centre itself so is easy to get around on foot. The continental breakfast had plenty of choice to ensure that I started the day in the right way. My room had plenty of tea and coffee so I could make all the drinks I wanted and the ensuite was compact (maybe using the shower would be a problem for anyone who is a larger size as it was quite tight) but otherwise I couldn't fault it. There was parking onsite - a bonus staying so close to the centre of Torquay - though I think it is suited to smaller cars as it could be a bit tight getting out of the spaces (I parked near the entrance to make it easier for myself!). Overall a nice place to stay and I'd definitely consider staying there again.

Nice big room with comfy bed. Some of the furniture is damaged and could do with replacing but for the price we paid it’s adequate. There is a bit of broken/tatty furniture piled up in places which makes downstairs look a little scruffy. Breakfast is self service lots of choice and delicious. Would recommend ear plugs as the seagulls wake early squawking by the seaside.

The hotel is located just from the centre of Torquay giving real good access to all the the local hotspots including the harbour,everthing is withing easy walking. They are decorating areas of the inside to make improvements but this is not a negative when staying there as it does not dissrupt your stay at all.

Quick easy check in. Arrived early 12.30 and asked if I could leave the car in car park and checkin later. Gentlemen said that room was ready so could book in and get card pass for door and room. Breakfast was served between 8.30 and 9.30. Good choice on menu. Very pleasing stay.

Excellent value for money. The room had everything necessary and although the communal areas were a little dated, I felt the owners were running a tight ship and doing well by guests. The breakfast was included and served, so much better than tje usual self service bun fight It was very well located near the Harbour and pubs and eateries but quiet as on a no through road. Parking tight but free in height of summer. Would recommend for families and those on a budget. Good.

Was a very cold welcoming , however I had read many reviews that said the owner wasn’t particularly friendly and they were correct .
The room was very small and the toilet/shower cubicle was tiny .
On a positive note the room was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable and for £152 for 2 nights bed and breakfast in the English riviera in the height of summer I thought was good value .
There was a stale smell throughout the hotel however , not sure whether this was due to being dog friendly or just no effort made to clean the ancient carpets . .
Overall I would give the hotel 4/10 , breakfast was reasonable but so small and the smell would put me off visiting again .

Excellent location for restaurants near the harbour. Room was a decent size (superior) although disappointing not to have a bath, just a small shower room, fairly basic overall. However it was clean and cheerfully decorated. The breakfast was first class and probably best I’ve had at even at 4 and possibly 5 star hotels which would make me recommend it.

Yardly Manor is very conveniently located 2 minutes from the centre of Torquay. Facilities are good, breakfast great (although didn't opt for it on our latest visit as we needed to be elsewhere early) but we have stayed before (in the same room) and had a great breakfast. We had the \"Compact Room\" which although is small, is ample for us, the TV is nicely wall mounted in the best position, tea & coffee facilities are good with plenty of choice. The bathroom is definitely compact, but again is fine and the shower is good. Plenty of lovely clean towels and the bath towels are \"big\" which is great as other hotels frequently only offer towels that you can barely wrap around you! One thing that I must stress is that our room both this and last time was absolutely immaculately clean. The bed was comfy with extra pillows offered. Would have no hesitation staying again.

We are both elderly with mobility problems. The hotel was advertised as having a restaurant. It was therefore a great shock to us to learn that the evening meal could be obtained half a mile away down by the harbour. We took a taxi for the first night, but found the menu not to our liking. Our evening meal (we had a little dog with us) remained a problem for the whole of our stay.
On the other hand, the hotel was quiet, clean,comfortable - and provided a lovely, satisfying breakfast. We would have welcomed extra hooks (for clothes) and shelving in the bathroom.

Second stay at Yardley Manor, we enjoyed the first one but enjoyed the second one even more. the staff are very helpfull and polite,and the hotel is everything you need for an enjoyable stay. will go again later in the year.

A solo overnight stay to visit family.

The single room (no 4) was tidy and clean and had everything needed for comfort including an ironing board, coffee tray, TV, kettle etc and the ensuite was clean, spacious and with an electric shower.No outlook from window ( privacy glass) and window wouldn't open but not a problem for a one night stay. After a meal with relatives we came back to the downstairs bar/lounge which we were pleased to find open and stayed chatting ( and drinking) on comfy sofas until about 1am, with no stress from staff. All very homely and relaxed. Didn't have Breakfast as still full from a meal out the night before. Would happily stay again.
