Where should i start.... checked in was given key on a block of 2by2 timber room on top floor didnt want to use lift as manager (i think he was) had to hold button for lift to come down didnt look very good. We got to are floor finally had to walk around a metal ladder that was leading to roof that anyone could have climbed, then we had to duck under a arch to get in room. Very hard to open the door with a 2by2 block of timber attached to the key, open the door smelt off mould, both arm chairs look old fashion and not been cleaned (white stains) window and door kept banging so thought we would lock the door to see helped.. no that didnt help at all. Didnt even spend 5 minutes in this room as it was disgusting. Asked for a refund didnt get one as hotel manager wasnt available when expedia was trying to contact them...leaving us to go and find alternatives arrangements... WILL NEVER USE AGAIN

The four legged Consierge, Floyd was adorable. Our room was clean and comfortable. There is elevator access but it’s best suited for standing. The hallways are too narrow and twisted for a wheelchair and you must be able to walk a few steps to the toilets

Great location. Loved the sea view from my room. The welcome from the receptionist was lovely felt welcomed and felt I could ask questions if I needed. Room was functional had everything you'd need for your stay. Shower cubicle was a little small not for those on the larger size. Would stay there again.

We have stayed here several times and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We had to change our arrangements and the Reception staff were extremely helpful, understanding and nothing was too much trouble.
We were upgraded to a side sea view - the room was large with a lovely view of the sea and had a new powerful shower.
We would recommend and will be staying here again.

Hotel staff lovely and welcoming and very helpful. Room was as advertised; small and to the rear of the hotel. Corridor to the room very dark. Room very basic and bed very soft. Extra pillows supplied when requested. Unusual heating system via artwork on the wall. Easy to use and heats up very quickly. Very small shower, would be difficult to use if on the larger size. Basic amenities; coffee tea and shampoo supplied. Room sadly must have been above the bar and very loud music could be heard until around 23:00-23:30. But we did book for Friday and Saturday nights. Hotel is on the seafront and very close to the town centre.

The staff at this hotel were very welcoming, they have snacks dotted around the hotel that you can help yourself too. They also have a stocked mini fridge with beverages you can purchase from the reception desk with ease.

The hotel also has a space for pool and table tennis when you fancy some social activities without having to leave the venue.

The hotel was really lovely. Excellent location. Our room had an amazing sea view. All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed for two nights and slept really well. We also enjoyed a couple of games of pool in one of the communal areas. We were able to park on a side street right by the hotel and the hotel wwre able to give us discounted parking tickets. We also took advantage of a discounted breakfast buffet they offer for the view hotel next door which was delicious.

No carpark but street parking and it's free after 6pm. Also think they offer a discount at the reception but didn't need it.
A very nice receptionist told me all I needed to know.
A very old style lift to most floors but still had to take stairs to my room.
Room size was good, shower room on the other hand absolutely tiny!
The bed was very comfortable.
Wifi is excellent
The shower was lagging in power
Location along the seafront close to lots of restaurants and pubs.

The room was clean.
You are not allowed to take the room key out of the hotel as it's attached to a long piece of wood as shown in the video.
You get a breakfast bag to take away in the morning on check out.
Has a bar and pool table.

Would highly recommend this hotel. We stayed for 2nts with our dog over August Bank Holiday and wouldn’t hesitate to go back. In great location close to seafront and town centre and walkable to Beachy Head. Staff were welcoming and gave good recommendations for dinner and also provided a leaflet with discount. The takeaway breakfast was also a great touch and unexpected.

Great staff, great location, complementary breakfast included ( croissants jam, yogurts and juice) but property needs refurbishment. It was a very good price though.
Room we stayed was redone in 2021 but that means painted over the old wallpaper and walls, yellow stains coming already through the paint. Twin no sea view room had poorly fitted bathroom linoleum, uneven floor with mouldy creased shower curtain that kept letting water through onto the bathroom floor. Shower head kept collapsing. Shame it wasn’t fully upgraded.

From the moment we arrived the staff were attentive and extremely helpful. I use a wheelchair for mobility issues but am able to use it as a frame to walk. The lift is small but at over 100yrs old it still does a wonderful job. You would have difficulty sitting in your chair unless you went in alone. There's an accessible room on ground floor but I was travelling with my adult son so we booked the family room - 2 separate sleeping areas within one room and a large walk in shower. A complimentary breakfast bag of butter croissant, jam, yoghurt and piece of fruit was provided every morning. The hotel is undergoing refurbishment, it won't appeal to everyone but we thoroughly enjoyed our break. We'll definitely return.

Breakfast bags are available at reception free of charge or you can try the breakfast buffet across the road , great value with a voucher from the hotel. Everyone who worked at West Rocks was incredibly helpful and friendly. The beds were very comfortable. The location is fantastic- right across from the beach. We had a great view! The hotel is older and could use a little refreshing, but it was clean and comfortable.
There is a working lift/elevator that is small and somewhat challenging to use. I believe that it would fit one wheelchair but would not leave room for any other passengers.

A pleasant stayover

Good value for money for a 1 night stay and waking up in the morning with an incredible sea view. The bed is super comfy and the room with a bay window is spacious. The hotel is old but the staff are very friendly and always keen to help. Parking right outside the buildingis free between 6pm and 8am - ideal for a business overnight. It is a beautiful town for an afternoon stroll.
