Lovely big room, staff all very friendly and helpful but the hotel needs a little bit of updating, nothing major, it just feels a little bit dated in terms of things like the bathroom and furniture. Room was extremely spacious and comfy though and we had a great night’s sleep and it had everything we needed for the night.

Lovely sea-view room - nice and quiet despite being close to the main road. BIG comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A great treat to have a (small) heated swimming pool on site Parking is available on sea front with vouchers - very cheap! Good options to eat in the Hotel as well as some nice restaurants nearby.

Great location, in front of the beach with complete sea view and close to the pier and downtown.
The staffs could be more friendly with smile. Especially reception desk gave us cold impression. The full English breakfast was delicious. The room was good, however, using the shower was difficult to get hot water.

The hotel looked tired and dated. The view was excellent, The windows rattled in the wind, Parking was variable when we first arrived we parked outside the hotel, but when we arrived late one evening we struggled to find a space, eventually parking about a 5 minutes walk away. Breakfast did not have a good choice of fruits but the cooked food food was fine. The evening meals were good.

The worst bed I have ever slept in.
The tv was about as big as a postage stamp.
Breakfast was ok
I paid £10 for an upgrade and the room was still tiny, so I reckon their \"small\" rooms (which I was initially booked into) must be like a coffin.

Ample parking on the street.
Went out for a walk about 9pm, that part of town is well shifty.

Had a pleasant stay in York House hotel they have a nice Veranda. We can sit in the Sun or the shade and have a pleasant drink looking at the beach. parking is reasonable as they have permits and there is also free on street parking just around the corner.

We stayed 2 nights. Good Location, we had a sea view which was nice, however, the net curtain was ripped. The room was clean and we had a kitchen, which is fully equipped. It is a 3 star, it's average, but if you don't want all the frills it's fine. Breakfast choice is minimal, fruit is just apples only. Coffee served, but i wanted a latte, was told Coffee machine is broken.
This hotel needs updating. On a plus side, the bed was comfortable.

Helpful, friendly staff. Very small, run down rooms that haven’t been thoroughly cleaned in years. Beds are old and too soft. There was no ventilation in the bathroom, probably because the vent was filled with dirt and dust. Normally, I do pushups and stretches on the floor every morning but I would not do that here. On the plus side, it is literally across the street from the beach so the location is great. But I would not stay again because of the lack of cleanliness.

Great location right on the seafront with the pier in easy reach, a handy bus stop and roadside parking outside. It's an easy level walk to the town centre.
The best thing about this hotel was the staff, everyone I came across was friendly, welcoming and helpful, one lady even spoke in Spanish to some guests. Certain things weren't provided automatically, like water in the room, but all I had to do was ask and a big jug of iced water was quickly fetched with a smile.
I slept really well which I don't always in hotels - my room faced away from the seafront road which meant it was quiet. The bed was comfortable, the curtains had blackout linings, the window opened easily and there was an effective electric fan.
Breakfast was buffet style, not the widest choice but tasty and cooked well and again, when I asked for a fruit salad, a good one arrived quickly. The service at breakfast always came with a smile.
The hotel looks a little tired in places such as some carpets, on the stairs, corridors and in the lift. My room wasn't pristinely clean on arrival, I did have to ask for a dusty corner to be cleaned.
All in all a pleasant stay due to the staff's friendliness and the good night's sleep.

good value. Disappointed in swimming pool. Nice pool, nice and warm. But only a cold shower at side of pool. Nobody showered before going in pool. Shower so cold unable to shower afterwards. No instructions about towels. If I had known about the showers I would have taken the big bath towel from my bedroom. Then when I got out of the pool I could have run up the stairs..the only way to the pool was through the dining room. Very embarrassed I would have slipped between the guests eating and caught the lift up to my room. I'm not sure I would have had the cheek to do that..as it happened I had only taken a very small hand towel thinking I would be able to pick up a pool towel like at all the other hotel pools I've used.

Such a tired-looking hotel. All the communal carpeted areas are smelly. Outside the second floor lift there are brown liquid drip marks on the wall.
My bathroom had mould on the tub and nasty gunk build up around the bath taps.
Everything at breakfast was lukewarm, - coffee, fried eggs, bacon.
Staff are very friendly though.

Fantastic Stay at a Lovely Hotel

The room was clean and cozy and warm. The room service was great as the bed was made and fresh towels given every day. The swimming pool was warm and clean. Very polite and helpful staff. There was live entertainment on one night with a great singer which was very good.
The hotel is right on the beachfront and not far from the town centre.
We have to visit Eastbound regularly to see my brother who is ill and this is the best hotel we have stayed in so we will be staying here in the future. Thank you for making a necessary but sad visit to Eastbourne a pleasant one. 🤗

Our room was very nice, unlike the rest of this hotel it was right up to date.The swimming pool is great we went in early so we have it to ourselfs. The hotel is in an old building so it will be hard to updated all of it. All the staff we met were very friendly. It is not easy to park around this hotel.

Unfortunately the comfort room was not what expected from the pictures shown upon booking, the bed was not comfortable and the dusty carpets, tissues underbed, inside the room, like as well dusty corridor carpets was not was expected for the price of the hotel.
Bathroom cleanless also not to standard as expected, the bath front board was dirty in few placed and walls had some resedue.
Tv remote control was most disgusting I believed and dont wanna even think what was all that resedue on it.
Staff was friendly and polite.

I wished that they provided slippers considering the carpet's hygien in the room. There is no AC in the room but a portable electrical fan.

Pool much smaller then expected and nothing like on the picture shown. The pool's water had way too much chlorine as just the strong smell made eyes itchy and watery, and if it got into your eyes it burned way too much.

Diner., food buffet area had spider webs and clumbs of dust handing from the walls and celings ,not very hygienic to my opinion.

Nice view from the dinner was a plus especially in the morning, seeing sunny beach!

Another lovely stay. We particularly like the courteous and helpful staff, the large
comfortable air-conditioned rooms, the value for money, the location - close to the front and its attractions - and the excellent breakfast.

The excellence of the staff continued after our stay. They found an item we had left behind and made arrangements for return.

The only criticism is that it is a little shabby in places and is in need of updating.

We really enjoyed staying here.

We had a perfect little two night stay. Walking the South Downs. Got upgraded to a really big sea view room. Great shower and towels etc. Bed was comfy there was a little fan to help cool us down at night.
All staff really friendly and helpful. Couldn’t fault it tbh. We had the breakfast on the first morning which was nice more or less what you’d expect from a buffet breakfast, fresh croissant and pain aux chocolate was a nice touch.

The stay is just Average i would say small double room,not very good window view next neighbour trash filed Up!😙🙄an \"eye sore\" tidy room every day but not cleaned bath sink and the shower handle got \" a rusty \" state that i am not sure why not cleaned properly.other than that the receptionist staff are good and helpful and Pool acess to use was good small pool though but refressing to used,not bad.

Very satisfactory. Swimming pool was a big bonus as weather was hot. One problem was that the fusebox tripped in our room (not sure why) but this was dealt with promptly and efficiently. The shower seemed only to produce very hot water and we mentioned this to the staff when we left.

The hotel though old had a certain charm and we were made to feel welcome during our stay. The room was cozy but plenty of storage. Bed was very comfortable and I slept well during the stay especially as I'm a fussy sleeper. Breakfast was good with both continental and cooked on offer. Dinner was equalling good, I can throughly recommend the burger. All staff were extremely polite, friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble. Special mention to Chris (restaurant manager) who looked after us at meal times. Will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you

Everything was fine except attention to detail. Skirting boards around the window, the bin in bathroom everytime you went to put your foot on the peddle the bin toppled ovet so i had to use my hands. First maids service
They didnt top up coffee and tea. They kindly put almond milk in our room but failed to put dairy milks which i did say it was only 1 of us who were dairy free. The changing room for swimming was absolutely disgusting. It made one feel dirty. The decor is crumbling. The bin for the towels was filthy and marked inside. This really let everything down.
Otherwise staff were friendly and professional for the standard of hotel. The restaurant food and staff was very good. Good chef and well trained staff. Reception staff professional and friendly. Position of hotel good.hallway needs upgrading and more attention to detail with cleaning. Parking should be free especially as i have a disabled badge. The car park was relatively empty. That is just greed. Over all good stay.

I was excited about our stay in Best Western as I stayed at their hotels before (aboard). The hotel is located on the seafront, close to the Pier.
I received a pleasant welcome at check-in. Our room however was very dated. Bed had a too soft mattresses and we could feel all the springs. Warm water tap wasn’t working.
Breakfast was ok; a choice of 4 warm meals and some cerial, yoghurt, fruit and pastries.
There is also a small warm indoor pool which is a bonus.

Our room was the smallest room we have ever had. Now we know what 10sqm really looks like!
The decor is very tired and the tv was out of the arc. A smart tv is an absolute minimum requirement in this day and age.
The staff were friendly but communication between house staff and the kitchen was not good when it came to getting our breakfasts orders correct.
The swimming pool was lovely and it was nice and warm.
Overall for the price point there are better hotels out there.

Parking on the road outside, get a ticket from reception for £2 a day.

Found a lovely pub close to the rear of the hotel called the marine, lovely atmosphere and superb food at reasonable prices.
