If you are in Eastbourne for work and just need somewhere to get your head down it's fine. Beds are clean etc.

Other than that, I would highly recommend the East Beach next door. They were our saviours.

If you are a bit mobility impaired there are no amenities anywhere near. If it wasn't for the East Beach, we would have been stuffed

Room was nice size, had pleasant sea view from 2 sash windows, however, smallest one sealed shut, largest one only opened about 4 inches because there was screwed-in wire connecting bottom of window to frame, stopping it from going up any further. Appalling for air circulation/cooling room during very hot days we stayed. Very unhealthy. We seem to be living more & more in nanny state where businesses think they can't trust you to behave safely, to not jump out of windows or to supervise your children properly.
On other hand, they'd failed to repair broken shower door so that half a panel was substituted by flimsy shower curtain, making it fall risk for me as disabled person who needs solid sides in such a tiny square shower cubicle. Remaining bit of sliding door also didn't open properly, making it very hard to get in/out safely for disabled person who needs to hold on to something easily without twisting in order not to slip while squeezing through very narrow entry/exit space.
Hotels need to get priorities straightened out. Think more about comfort/safety of particularly elderly & physically disabled guests - we need safe showers & fresh air. Worry less about being sued because someone decides to jump or parents too busy scrolling phones to engage with children. Put signs up to remind guests re open windows.
If person slips/falls due to broken shower or has heart attack/stroke due to excessive heat in inadequately ventilated rm, THEN you'll have something to worry about.

No public rooms at all - well they were either closed or empty of furniture. No breakfast available. Tea and coffee in rooms though. Lots of seating outside but too hot as no umbrellas or refreshments. Overall it was good value for the price, but the hotels either side were far superior for only a few pounds extra. Quirky? Rudolph and his friends were the pattern in the shower curtain!! Stay - late May Bank Holiday weekend 2026.

Reception stuggled to find us a room (as in a twin which we booked). We then had to change rooms as the first room's bathroom smelled really badly of smoke. Reception moved us very quickly.
Maintenance in the property should be improved. Did not have breakfast - the dining room was downstairs & looked really dark.
Location of hotel is right on the beach.

The room was quite bad, severely stained carpet and yellow all over the washroom floor, an old dirty drawn on office chair that looked like someone dragged it in off the street. It’s a shame because the hotel looks like it could have been really nice if maintained better.
The plus sides were the staff were very nice and the location right by the beachfront.

The bar wasn't open and there was no facilities for breakfast. Even the option of having cereals you could help yourself to and a toaster to make toast would have been good. My room was adequate but the shower cubicle was broken and the shower itself was attached to the wall and could only be used by hand. The bathroom wasn't very clean either. When I told the staff I wasn't happy they weren't interested and didn't bother until I said I was leaving early to offer another room.

Overall, we were satisfied with our stay at the hotel. The location was excellent, the room was clean, we were pleased with the heating, and the price was reasonable. However, we were disappointed to find that the room we were allocated did not correspond with the one advertised online. The photographs showed a room with large panoramic windows, yet the room we received had only two small windows, which was particularly disappointing as the window feature was a key factor in our decision to book this hotel. We also noted that the room did not include a hairdryer, which caused some inconvenience.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel 12 months ago and had a fantastic time, fast forward 12 months I booked the same type room as I was taking my son down, what a terrible experience!!!!!. When we arrived I noticed the shutters were down on the bar, we checked in and went upto our room, the room was clean and tidy. On our way out I asked about booking breakfast and was told the resturant and bar were closed because the hotel had been taken over a month ago, I asked about the parking permits to park outside and was told that the new owners needed to contact the local council, so had to pay full price for on street parking. When we came back we noticed it was warm in the hotel , we got up to our room and found the radiators were on, I went down to reception and asked them to turn the heating off 2 hours later it was back on again. The following morning we used the shower which drained away so slow there was about 3 inch's of water in the tray and all this muck was coming into the tray, I told the staff on our way out and was told they would look at, when we got back late afternoon and checked it was still the same condition as we had left it, once again that evening after we came back the heating was on once again. We checked out the following morning the guy on reception was on his mobile phone and didn't even speak as I gave him the key. WON'T BE STAYING THERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The best thing about this room was the sea views (that's why we paid for ), in general was ok for being a cheap hotel in front of the beach. However, it was not clean enough especially the shower and the towels . Also ,the room had plenty of humidity stains and it looked careless and dusty even on the window. I understand that it is a cheap hotel but an adequate hygiene is essential in every room whether is cheap ,standard or luxurious because the health of guests may be on risk . The receptionist who worked this morning was helpful and welcoming in contrast the one who was in there yesterday afternoon was talking by the phone while I was doing the check in so I had no idea who he was talking to .

Checked in and the reception absolutely stunk of weed from the Eastern Europeans in front of us. Asked about parking and was told from 6pm it was free but it we wasn’t moving our car we needed to go out by 8am and pay the machine the day rate. Most of the hotels along the font subsidised parking.
Asked what time the bar opened to be told unless there is a coach they don’t open it. Asked about the restaurant to be told the same.
Got to our room and it was very basic and on first checking no windows opened and the room was so hot and the radiator was on and couldn’t turn it off. The window was cracked and held together by sellotape.
Went back downstairs and asked for a fan and they did get one.
The room was extremely basic and no idea how long it had been there but a previous guest had stuck a used plaster on the back of the bathroom door and it was still there.
Staff had little interest in speaking to you. First words was you pay now.
Went out to get some dinner and when we returned there was a lot of Eastern Europeans stood outside blocking the stairs drinking bottles of wine/beer smoking weed and was quite intimidating to walk past.
There is no security or cameras around the hotel. Reception door was open all night.

Very good value. Very approachable and helpful staff.
Resourceful and thoughtful furnishing of a small room with several things many more expensive hotels lack or are too often forgotten e.g. adequate wardrobe, places to hang bath AND hand towels (many properties seem not to have thought this to be a bathroom necessity), a bath mat (yes, some places fail to provide one), easily-opening window for fresh air (as opposed to an ancient, rickety sash that is blocked from opening more than 2 inches).
Unrestricted street parking right opposite - very useful for those of us with Blue Badges - though spaces might be filled if you come late.
I will return.

The property was clean throughout and some decorating had been done.
Areas had been carpeted and they were getting ready for the start of the season.
Staff were helpful and polite and dealt with anything we enquired about.
There was a lovely sea view right across from the front of the Majestic.
There was a bar and coffee lounge which were having the final touches put to them
ready for the season to start.Our room was nicely decorated with all matching furniture.We were on room only basis and were pleased with it.

The room we were allocated was nothing like those advertised. The bathroom had crumbling plaster on the walls ,The very bleak room had poor lighting and curtains that would not open properly to see the 'Sea View'. No hairdrier/no ironing equipment as advertised. The restaurant and the bar was not open at all. The staff were courteous and the linen in the room was clean and fresh, but with nothing to stay and enjoy, we left a day early to come home. Eastbourne itself is sad and neglected as highlighted by the state of the pier, so all in all we regretted this booking with Expedia.

Room had three single beds with very white linen, although my son found a very faint stain on his. Room was clean and beds were comfy. Shower very powerful! View was of a side street so not a seaview, which was disappointing. It's about 1km to town so not far, and there is a row of shops including a Sainsbury's and fish and chip shop behind the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The location is decent but overall at the price we paid we expected a lot better, would not recommend.

We had a decent stay overall. The room was a good size with nice amenities and the sea view was absolutely stunning - definitely the highlight of our visit.

The hotel felt very quiet during our stay and we weren’t quite sure if parts of it were being refurbished. The bar and restaurant were closed and at times it felt like we were the only guests there. There were also a few housekeeping details that could have been better, as we noticed some leftover litter in the room from previous guests.

That said, the reception staff we saw were friendly and welcoming. With a bit more attention and investment, this hotel has real potential to be a lovely place to stay, especially given its fantastic location.

Nothing majestic about my room

My room was not a classic room when I compared it to photos on your website. I did not have lovely cushions or a fan to keep me cool. The room was stuffy and I could not breathe.

The curtains were drawn but when I opened them the windows and balcony were filthy.

On closer inspection I could see the bottom window had a wedge of toilet roll at the bottom to keep it closed. As soon as I opened the window it would not close unless I put the wedge of toilet roll back to stop the window opening again, the lock on the window above did not stay in place so I was left very vulnerable as the communal balcony could have meant anyone from another room could have entered my room and attacked me. The center window had 2 nasty cracks in it.
I left the hotel without staying the night, having been promised by the Manager Expedia had not paid them and I would get my money back, this was not the case and I spent 48 hours messaging Hotels.com speaking to a different agent every time. Finally I gave in and accepted £25 credit.

The location was excellent, and the staff were friendly. However, the room was small, the bed was too soft, and the shower without half a door. Additionally, I couldn't open the window. The breakfast offered only a full English option, but it was good. There were no day parking tickets available, so I had to pay the full parking rate.
It's a good value for the price.

Like many post war buildings on Eastbourne seafront, the hotel shows it's age in it's physical state and basic amenities. Cleanliness is excellent and what continues to make the once Majestic still Majestic is the friendly, attentive and hospitable attention of the staff. They work with a smile and, by the way, the breakfast buffet is excellent.

Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was very disappointing. The room had a strong mold smell due to visible mold stains on the wall near the bed, which forced me to keep the window open at night. Unfortunately, the window was next to the hotel roof where a group of pigeons had nested, making it noisy and uncomfortable.

The kettle provided was extremely old, dirty, and absolutely unsuitable for use. The bathroom conditions were even worse: mold inside the shower box, the originally white shower base turned yellow with age, and the water pressure and temperature constantly fluctuating between too strong/weak and hot/cold, making it an unpleasant experience.

The only positive aspect of my stay was the staff, who were very friendly and polite. Apart from that, I would strongly recommend avoiding this place.
