Lovely place, clean and fresh room with heated blanket for those colder evenings, fresh and clean bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities in room well topped up and tv, free parking which is nice and private (although very tight if you have a large vehicle) and loads of choice at breakfast. Little gem of a place, and really good price, I only stayed one night but will definitely book again.

I’ve stayed here several time when going to a board game event nearby. I think it’s the best place to stay in Eastbourne. The staff are super nice and the rooms have a lovely cosy feel to them. The main areas of the hotel are decorated beautifully and the breakfast is tasty with lots of options.

So pleased we choose to stay here. A real advantage having parking and it was so central to walk anywhere. Staff were extremely friendly and there was a lovely lounge to chill in if you wanted. We stayed in Room 10 that had a great comfortable king size bed but quite a small on suite which might be a problem for anyone quite large. The hotel is on a side street away from the traffic noise along the sea front. Breakfast was amazing, great idea of making your own cafeteria of coffee and cooked menu to order.

If I could rate it higher stars I would!! This is a fantastic place. The owner Steve was great - very helpful and accommodating. There were many breakfast options and the food was good. The decor in the building is very artsy and gorgeous. I got a good vibe from the place as soon as I walked in - very welcoming. It’s a 5 minute walk to the Eastbourne boardwalk and 5-10 minute walk into town. Good location. I would stay here again when in Eastbourne.

Enjoyable 3 night stay in a good B&B with car park
The Sheldon public spaces has been nicely decorated with many facilities, which was nice. The room was very spacious and well equipped but the bathroom was small especially the shower unit which was a ‘tight fit.’ Although clean, the bathroom could do with some more TLC. The onsite car park was an asset although it is a very narrow alley between the building and boundary wall to enter and exit. The location is one block from the sea front and very near to Devonshire Park (theatre and international tennis venue). It is also only a short walk from a variety of good restaurants. The staff were very polite and helpful which must be congratulated. The choices for breakfast were also very good with optional free cooked choices. The room’s information booklet was well produced and most helpful.

Very friendly and welcoming host. The room was clean as were the bedding and towels. Room needed a bit of minor attention /cosmetic work but this did not detract from overall enjoyment of stay. Slept like a log ! The refreshment facilities were excellent and even offered use of dining room out of hrs for our own use if we needed. Good choice of breakfast ,cooked and cereals etc. The hotel also had a lounge available which added to the overall space for our use. Great location 10mins from railway station and 5 from the beach. we would stay here again !

We stayed last year in a similar room i.e. budget (which is very small!). Shower this year wasn't good (on the wall so couldn't take it off to wash properly). Also have to step up & in/out not ideal. Windows rattled along with door so would suggest windproofing/updating a bit. Tv socket very lose. Apart from carpets/rooms needing tlc & more room - the staff are amazing with excellent breakfast/choice/tea/coffee & very professional/friendly reception & staff. Location is very good!

Lovely hotel, with friendly and helpful new owners. Great location, walking distance to the beach and local shops. Room in hotel was comfy, but in need of a refurb.Breakfast was plentiful,which was served between 8 and 9, a bit early we thought for a Sunday morning. Nice cooked breakfast, which was cooked to order. Would recommend this hotel and would come back again. The free car park was a bonus.

Nice place. Very clean. Free parking and close enough to everything. The only issues were that I booked a double bed room and it was 2 singles pushed together which didnt attatch in any way. So not a double bed. Also the shower trap wasn't cleaned out so the bottom of shower filled with water.

I admit to initially being sorry I had booked the Sheldon after being told there was absolutely no chance of booking-in prior to 3pm and reading that the doors would be closed until then (I booked almost a year in advance and at that time a small charge could be paid for early check-in), especially as we had a limited amount of time to freshen up and travel to a wedding reception for 4pm! On arrival the doors were closed but were opened and happily we were allowed to check-in about 20 minutes early. Owner was kind enough to find needle and thread for me for which I was extremely grateful. Our room was clean and comfortable, wi-fi good. Almost useless tiny heart shaped soap was the only toiletry provided. Breakfast was fabulous and the free on-site parking and closeness to the pier a real bonus
