Apartment 3. Two rooms. Bedroom sealed like a Tomb and as hot as an oven - no aircon, no way to open windows, only a small ineffective FAN. Even with Heating turned down to minimum room unbearably hot. Fridge the opposite - was turned up to maximum and froze pepsi bottle and (more seriously) insulin stored in Fridge overnight. Great location, but overall not a good nights sleep so wont be back...

Although apartment was clean and comfortable, it was directly above a very loud and noisy bar/nightclub! Unable to get any sleep until after 2am when the music stopped. Glad i hadnt booked the apartment for my young family, as i was thinking of doing so in the future before i experienced last night! Such a shame as the apartment was very nice.

Great location, clean, spacious! Great for walking to Edinburgh sites, Royal Mile, dining, shopping. Comfy beds! Perfect for our family of four. Our only complaint was the noisy music and crowd at the club just below our apartment. It doesn’t close until 3 am. Be sure to take ear plugs! But we would stay here again…and be more prepared next time!

- location a bit noisy outside with nightlife, but ear plugs solve that
- some instructions on operating the appliances could be helpful

As soon as we checked in we noticed the light in the bathroom was broke and flickering non stop. It was difficult to be in the bathroom at all with this light as it genuinely felt like a room used for torture.
There was no reception as it was a Sunday so couldn’t report there. I called to report this immediately and was told I would receive a call back in 5 minutes. An hour later I had still received no call back so I called again and was told they forgot to call me back but that they couldn’t get a hold of the duty manager. He said he would continue to try contact the duty manager to get it fixed for us. I told them I didn’t want to wait about any longer and I was told this was ok as the duty manager could access the room anyway even if we weren’t in. Needless to say this wasn’t fixed when we returned at 10pm that evening and I received no further update at all, even now.
I was here for the fringe and dealing with this meant staying in the aparthotel for much longer than I wanted to meaning we missed out. The issue itself left us with pounding headaches and flashing that seemed to continue well after leaving the room. This is so dangerous but in particular to those with epilepsy or prone to seizures.
Overall a disappointing stay. In addition to the above, room was warm (although a fan provided) and too bright (only a blind that didn’t keep light out), place wasn’t very clean (mould and dirt across the flat). Location was good

The Spires Apartment stay was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. The front doors are a little challenging as is the narrow doorway, especially if you’re travelling with large suites, you may struggle a bit and be prepared to climb a few stairs to the elevator.
It is a self serve building, there may not be staff onsite, but the instructions are perfect!
Our room overlooked the street and we were able to open our windows.
The suite was fully furnished, kitchen, laundry (washer/dryer combo), bed was comfortable and hot water shower.
We did not have a car then, but were walking distance to many attractions.

I would have loved to stay here longer, and we would definitely stay here again. The staff was very communicative, there was a variety of food options; it’s close enough to main attractions to be accessible via walking while also avoiding the more populated areas. We had a two bedroom suite that was perfect for the four of us. It had comfy beds, two full bathrooms, a kitchen area equipped with dishes and appliances for convenience and a feel of a home away from home. The elevator is two person max, but that’s fairly typical for Edinburgh. We were on the top floor, and the stairs were still manageable. We were very pleased with our stay and how conveniently located it was.

We stayed for a couple of nights in December - the 1 bed flat was good overall. One thing we noticed was bin bags full of rubbish left in the lift- they were there every day of our stay, we’d go out and come back with the bin bags still there and smelly. Avoid the lift and use the stairs!

Extensive email communication with Craig Duguid, National Sales Manager, of Spires, followed and at all times he hid behind Terms and Conditions to avoid reimbursement for the lost night of accommodation, effectively condoning corporate theft by taking payment without providing any service. Hence what might have been a more than satisfactory stay and positive review, is now dealt with the indifference that Spires Apartments showed to my request

The apartment is very central. Only thing is the night time noise. I was up most of the night because of the music from the club next door which went on until 3am on a Monday night.
Room was well equipped. The sofa desperately needs binned it was covered in stains and looked dirty. The carpet also needs a good shampoo or replaced.

The location is fantastic for walking to the castle, Victoria Street, and Rose Street, check in instructions were very clear, but the rooms could be updated, and late night noise can be an issue if you are a light sleeper. The beds we’re comportable, and it was nice to have a two-bed two-bath apartment in such a good location.

We were there with our two chipdren and the apartement was large enough with great kit hen and a large bathroom, in addition to asmaller one. TV could be bigger. Other bedroom queen. 2 baths with showers. Nice living area. Lots of towels. No complaints. If you need an elevator, keep in mind you have to walk up 5 steps or so, so wheelchairs might be a problem.

Missing medication and poor customer service
I stayed two nights on the 11th and 12th December this year with my daughter who was in Edinburgh for a job interview. The apartment was good and in a good location. Good amenities. But I left my prescription medication and vitamins in the kitchen area to remind me to take them in the morning, the first morning they were there the second morning when i went to get them they were gone. I reported the matter to reception who told me they would check the cameras and I am still waiting for a reply.

A mixed review - apartments themselves were very comfortable. However, my room was on the second floor and above a pub/club, which lead to considerable noise until 345am - it might not be every night, but I would expect Thursday through Sunday (at least). Appreciate that it's outside of the control of Spires, but contributed to a grim night of little sleep.

We had booked a one bedroom and we’re given a studio. The apartment had not been cleaned, kitchen floor was sticky, chattered glass on the carpet, radiator thermostat head was broken and on the floor. Impossible to close the velux. Hair around the bathroom sink. Lift was not working and we were on the third floor. Other guests came in at 03:30am drunk and making a lot of noise on the same floor as us. Street noise all through the night despite being a Sunday night. Won’t return to this place.
