Eden Locke is an amazing place to stay in Edinburgh. Staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We stayed in the Locke Studio and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a washer and dryer, plates, fridge, it was like a mini apartment! The room was incredibly clean and overall we had a lovely stay.

We had a really lovely time at the Eden Locke. The staff were awesome and it was really convenient having all the amenities within the suite itself. The location was also great (no need to traverse a million steps and the steepest hills with our luggage) and were surrounded by great restaurants and shops!
The only thing that we didn’t enjoy was the bed and pillows. The mattress was really stiff and creaky and the pillows were flat and hard. We wished we could come back from a long day of exploring to a nice cozy bed but no luck.

This was an apartment-style hotel that was in a quieter area in the city but still within a 30-minute walking distance of all the places I had planned for my trip to Edinburgh (I love walkable cities, so this is not a disadvantage at all lol) + within a 5-minute walking distance to a convenient bus stop. All of the staff I encountered were friendly & accommodating, & I loved that there was a little café downstairs. It was clean & aesthetic, & I plan to stay at more Locke hotels in the UK + Europe!

We encountered many issues with our reservation - from the property advertising that they have AirCon, but it only being in certain rooms, from being misled about room availability time, to a loud group across the hall, and finally no staff available for over 30 minutes when we needed to pickup our luggage from storage, this was an incredibly disappointing experience for a 4 star hotel. The hotel was clean and in a great location, but I would not recommend a stay in Eden Locke. The staff did very little to rectify the issues we had, also, both during the stay and after it. To be avoided.

There were good restaurants on that main street. . The room/studio was clean and comfortable. I appreciated the extra touches like providing an umbrella, which was used. Beautiful property with a great cafe. The rooms were absolutely beautiful and fit with everything you could possibly need from laundry, dishwashers, cooking utensils, and much more. The pull out couch was bigger than expected and surprisingly comfortable compared to what I have seen in other hotels. The hotel is in a great location with many restaurants, shops, and grocers within a short walk and we had no issue getting to all the major tourism attractions on foot within 20 minutes! I’d happily stay here again if coming back Edinburgh.

Good location, with a lot of restaurant options right outside the hotel and we were able to walk pretty much anywhere in 15 minutes. We were in a studio, which fit our needs perfectly, which still offers a kitchenette and washer/dryer. The windows do not open up very much, so its hard to get good airflow. They do put a floor fan in the room, but we were still a little on the warm side in early June. We would definitely return.

This is a convenient place to stay when visiting Edinburgh. It is walking distance to all the sights in the Old Town. The rooms are on the smaller side, but the 1-bedroom suite has a couch where you can open clamshell suitcases. They have a good selection of pastries and other breakfast options, and make coffee drinks as well. They also have a small bar that closes at 9PM.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I visit Edinburgh regularly from the U.S. and this is now my favorite place to stay. Thoughtful touches, kind staff, great coffee shop downstairs, walking distance to my favorite restaurant (Baba, it’s amazing, just go), local shops…you really just can’t go wrong. Pop down to Tesco, load up your kitchen, and enjoy your space. Do laundry in your room before you leave. I could go on and on. This will be my go-to from now on, I’m obsessed.

Home away from home! Loved the area- within walking distance to everything we wanted to do, and easy access to bus and tram if needed. No need to pay a fortune for transfers to/from the airport with the bus stop a block away. Close to a grocery store and had everything we needed in our little suite to cook our own meals. Loved that we could even do our own laundry during our stay. Cute, cozy, super clean, and sooo comfortable. Definitely recommend it!

I booked Eden Locke for a weekend in Edinburgh to see Moulin Rouge with a friend. We wanted to treat ourselves as we both have 2 year olds so I feel like we found the diamond in the rough with this hotel, it is so understated from the outside. The aesthetic at reception/bar area is very relaxing and cool. The rooms were amazing, I always love when you walk in and there is a scent, its fresh and inviting. There was plenty of storage space for clothing and everything you could need in the kitchen area. We loved our stay and can't wait to return.

The cafe on the property and the staff were probably the best part of the stay. The room itself was poorly laid out, the huge wall in front of the bed was a strange choice- not being able to see the tv from the bed was disappointing, and the way the wall was there was no way for air to flow around to where the bed was with the windows open so it was so hot to sleep. The bed was also hard as a rock and made so much noise and creaked when anyone moved or tried to get out of the bed. The light switches were in weird places, and the bathroom didn’t have any shelving really or a place to plug in the hair dryer. We did appreciate the kitchen but everything was crammed so close you couldn’t even open the garbage can cupboard without bashing into the table. Basically great location, great people but for the price we paid were very uncomfortable in the room.
