Used to stay here when it was Rick’s, (that dates me). It was a good place then but it is an even better place now. The formerly loud bar on the ground floor now has a well

Gorgeous room and all the tea/coffee facilities in the room with milk in the fridge! Sadly a few things in the room look a little tired (door lock and bathroom sink) and the location of the rooms is not ideal. Having to walk through to the kitchen and then through two rather grubby hostel-style doors&stairs felt very 1-2* not 4*.
And the Friday night karaoke alongside no AC in the room meant a very sleepless first night. I'd recommend requesting a room higher up in the building as we were the first room in the hotel and it was directly above the bar and on ground level to the street and kitchen deliveries happened right outside the window!

A short break in the City Centre, and this was a great location. NCP parking was about 10mins walk, and was reduced pricing too which was a great help. Excellent breakfast and overall a nice stay but bathroom was quite dusty in places, and disturbed during the night with surrounding bars emptying their glass bottle bins late.

Our room was perfect for us and the location was really central with a 5 min walk to prince's street and very close to other restaurants etc. It was a little noisy due to overlooking another pub and road that the glass was being emptied out every morning but its a city center location so i would expect that. They have big towels! A simple but lovely touch along with hair dryer

Nice hotel, staff, food and well situated. Some things in room needed attention (toilet flush refill very slow, sink plug didn't work, toilet roll hanging off wall). All minor things which could be sorted easily. The main reason for not giving an excellent review was the noise outside every day from refuse being emptied in the small street behind Started very early and finished late at night. A great shame.

Rabble is an amazing, friendly hotel. Tbe staff are very friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was very clean and all the small touches made it, hairdrier and straightening irons, tea and coffee pod machine, shower gel shampoo and conditioner also a jar with cotton pads and buds. Tv had Netflex which was great for late night viewing. We booked in for breakfast and i csn honestly say it was the best full english ive ever had, delishous. It was so good we had dinner and cocktails we booked in for dinner and cocktails and they didnt dissapoint. All in all a brilliant hotel in a ideal location and we will definitely be back again.

Gorgeous place in a great location, New Town is a great area of Edinburgh with many indpendent businesses to explore. The room was lovely, modern decor, spacious and great amenities from a Nespresso machine to good toiletries and hair straightners. Only issue was room was so warm! Service was excellent, we did a late check out and they on;y charged us one hour, bar/restaurant is lovely place to enjoy a drink but food was below par.

The breakfast each morning was lovely and it was no trouble for them to get you something that wasn't listed on the menu.

Staff were consistently lovely. However extractor fan outside when window open was extremely noisy. Room far too warm when window closed. In these circumstances the duvet was too heavy. Very poor insulation between floors so we were kept awake by a guest above us who walked around all night, sounded like moving furniture around so poor sleep. Disappointing and despite great staff we definitely won’t return.

We were given a nice welcome upon arrival & the room was very well equipped although a little noisy, being at street level at the rear of the property, you had people standing outside chatting in the early hours and deliveries arriving. The inroom fridge is a nice touch but be sure to check stocked items so not to be charged for something you haven't taken. Not sure laminate flooring in the corridors is very practical when you can hear every footstep outside your door. Good level of cleanliness & comfortable bed. Sadly we didn't have a very good dining experience on our first night so didn't eat here. Menu is quite limited. The establishment is situated in a good position close to shops, restaurants, public transport & many of the local attractions.

Fantastic location, everything was clean and pristine. Bathroom was good excellent shower with plenty of hot water, the girls we dealt with for the accommodation side where great and very helpful.
There are only 2 negatives, the bed was very soft and I woke with a sore back but I that is a personal problem and not everyone will need or want a firmer mattress.
The second was when we went down stairs for a drink the waiter was very polite but after about 15 minutes of waiting for our drinks I went to the bar to see what the holdup was, and found the barman chatting to a couple of girls as the drinks orders where piling up the waiter looked frustrated and I tried to get the guys attention but he totally ignored us and looked like he has a bit of an attitude problem. Felt sorry for the waiting staff as our second drinks order took even longer they tried to cover for him saying it was busy however this was not the case.
There are only 2 negatives, the bed was very soft and I woke with a sore back but I that is a personal problem and not everyone will need or want a firmer mattress.
The second was when we went down stairs for a drink the waiter was very polite but after about 15 minutes of waiting for our drinks I went to the bar to see what the holdup was, and found the barman chatting to a couple of girls as the drinks orders where piling up the waiter looked frustrated and I tried to get the guys attention but he totally ignored us and looked like he has a bit of an attitude problem. This hotel is close to fantastic restaurants and pubs - try Bon Vivant (good restaurant not pricey), El Cartel (Mexican no bookings), Queens Arms (gastropub), The Cambridge (burgers). This hotel has no lobby which I loved. Rooms are high specification and very big comfortable beds

I walked in through the busy bar/grill area & thought I'd be in for a noisy night. Not at all, the room was quiet, clean & beautifully furnished. The staff were exceptional & remembered me when I went to collect my (stored) bag in the afternoon. I'll be back for a social stay later this year.

Checking in was initially a bit bizarre, being at the back of a busy and noisy bar and restaurant. However the service was friendly and efficient.. The room appeared to have been upgraded recently, was modern and had a big comfortable four poster bed. The pillows were soft and pliable and the room was well stocked with drink and snacks.
One criticism was the small flimsy designer chair at the table. I don't think it would carry the weight of anyone much over ten stone - a bigger more robust chair would be much better although there was a premium on available space in the room.
Overall I enjoyed my stay and would return, although Edinburgh hotel prices are getting very expensive these days. Rabble is reasonable but by no means a bargain.

We were warmly welcomed by a very friendly & efficient member of staff & shown to a lovely room on the street level. Has a nice contemporary feel to the room, large comfy bed, plenty of storage space and very clean. Bathroom had tub & shower combo which is pretty rare in a reasonably priced room in Edinburgh, where space is at such a premium! Plenty of towels, robes provided and The White Company complimentary toiletries where a nice touch. We had a free bottle of Prosecco as part of our booking, which was chilled & ready in the room. It was especially welcome after a long day of travelling & walking. Breakfast - also part of our booking - was plentiful and delicious,lots of hot & cold items to choose from. All the staff we met were very helpful & professional. Really hope to stay here again on our next trip in June!

Ricks was an amazing place to stay for a first visit to Edinburgh. Great central location, lovely friendly staff, excellent food both breakfast and dinner. Loved the cocktails in the bar! We had a great time in Edinburgh and Rick's Hotel is very well situated for both sightseeing and shopping. The hotel staff really make this hotel as they are all very warm, friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble! We ate in the hotel once in the evening and every morning for breakfast and it was delicious, with fab service and a good ambience. The rooms are slightly dated but the staff were more than happy to upgrade our room to ensure we were completely satisfied.

The reception is in a very noisy bar so when I called up to ask when I could check in it was very hard to hear the answer. Room was very hot and also very noisy with a lot of banging from the corridor so had a less than average nights sleep. A small piece of glass was found on the floor. The tap head came off in the shower so was unable to turn off the tap.

Conveniently situated, clean hotel
We had a great 2 days in Edinburgh, first day shopping and second day sight-seeing. A fabulous city that we would recommend to anyone. A highlight was definitely the Royal Yacht Britannia and the Scottish Parliament is well worth a visit.
