The hotel is set in a quiet location but close to shops and lovely walks. It was easily reached by tram from the airport. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. We didn’t try the restaurant in the evening. Our room was great and the bed was comfortable.

I travelled often and I make specific requests about the preferences of the room . Most hotels never care about it even though they write you a common reply that a computer would send as auto reply saying there is no guarantee of the request but they will try.
Kimpton Charlotte Hotel did exactly what I asked for and not only that, the front officer knew about it and specifically mentioned they did go all out to make the preparations as I wanted . Arrived at the hotel and took advantage of the valet parking which was quick and easy - my bags were even taken straight to my room. The in room amenities and extras were excellent. The pool was quiet and I even had it to myself the morning of my stay. I dined in Baba which was delicious. The only small negative I encountered was that my room was above the restaurant so it was a little noisy. The location is excellent for exploring both the Old Town and New Town of Edinburgh.

Lovely staff and service. Several common areas for relaxing. Bed and room size were comfortable. It was a room for two, however, there was only one chair so one of us had to sit on the bed. The view was very unsightly so we did not open the window treatments. The bathroom was modern and clean except for some mold on the shower tiles. All things considered I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

The Kimpton Charlotte Square was the perfect place to spend Christmas week in Edinburgh! The staff were incredibly pleasant and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our rooms were lovely—very comfortable and beautifully designed. The location is unbeatable; we were right in the heart of everything and could easily walk to the Christmas market, the amazing shopping on George Street and Princes Street, and iconic spots like Victoria Street and the Royal Mile. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

From reception at the front door as the limo pulled up ..there were two bellmen outside opening the car door and escorting us to the front desk where reception and check in was friendly and seamless. Rooms well appointed and spotless. Service was excellent throughout our visit. Concierge stepped up to help with a problem and were always one step ahead. We took advantage of the amenities like Plant Pal, having them arrange transportation for us, the loaner Strathberry bag, and they have an amazing list of wellness options like the TheraGun (which my lower back needed after 2 solid days walking the whole of Edinburgh). I enjoyed borrowing a Strathberry purse for my stay as well as the plant buddy. I ate once at the restaurant in the hotel Baba and it was excellent. There is a nearby Pret if you want to get a modestly priced breakfast.

We had a fabulous stay at Kimpton. The hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of the city, but in a safe, quiet Georgian square.
The facilities are excellent, including a pool.and spa and 2 restaurants. We only ate breakfast and in the cafe area , not the restaurant, but the staff here are, without fail, absolutely AMAZING, ....friendly, professional and the MOST helpful staff i have ever had in a hotel.

This was only a one night stay, partly for work, partly to celebrate my birthday. Check-in was excellent, very friendly, attentive & welcoming, a free upgrade was offered as it was my birthday & time was taken to personally show us around the hotel facilities. The reception, lobby, dining areas & Spa are beautifully decorated, there are so many staff, all of whom are highly trained & exceptionally helpful & friendly. On arrival to our room, a hand written birthday card & plate of chocolates & macarons had been left out for me, a very nice touch. Everything you’d want or need in a room was there, the bed was very comfortable, there was virtually no sound coming from anywhere, lovely shower & toiletries. My only gripe would be that the room was a bit drab & not decorated to anything like the same standard as the main areas of the hotel; also, we could not access the aircon panel, as it was obscured by the wardrobe, it was quite stuffy in our room overnight & you couldn’t open the window. We ate dinner at Aizle which was excellent and lunch at Baba which was delicious. Breakfast was a wee bit disappointing, there was a huge selection of things but they were rather ordinary & I would’ve expected a much more imaginative & out of the ordinary offering for £30 p/person from this standard of hotel - we had to send back a pain au chocolat as it was stale & hard. All in all though, our stay was lovely, the staff amazing & would highly recommend.

Incredible birthday night away, got two free drinks for the occasion for the hotel bar BABA, as well as the lovely woman on check-in who gave us an upgraded room for the occasion. I don’t remember her name but she was working on 20/06 and was so lovely and helpful. Had a slight leak with the A/C which didn’t bother us at all, but it was immediately fixed whilst we were popped out for the evening and two gin and tonics were left for us on our return. Lovely food and drinks, beautiful hotel no complaints at all. Also check out in 12 so no rushing at all. 5 Stars all round.
