I have visited Sol Barbados few years ago and it was much better in term of food and staff. Most if not all staff were rude and not easy to approach especially the bar men as well as the restaurant workers.
I wanted to go again so we can have some memories back but unfortunately it wasn’t as expected

The staff were great but the food was not nice at all not many options and we asked for a double bed we got 2 single beds even though we asked on the first day to have a double bed. It needed to be more clean there were no toilet paper or hand soap in the toilets by the pool . .

Located just outside the busy area, 5 minute walk away. Close to the beach. Quiet enough to get away from it all. Was busy with families so expect the family noise, and buffet madness. Only negative would be the lifts, only 3 of them and when busy be prepared to wait a while

Front desk staff not helpful and rude
Pool closes at 6pm and the sun doesnt go down until 10pm so theres nothing to do in the evening.
Breakfast is mediocre despite many options, the food quality just isnt good.
Loud screaming kids at night and early morning. Walls are paper thin. Its an expensive hotel but not worth the price.

I've been in a few 4 and 5 star All-Inclusive hotels for the last few years and while this one had a few things going for it, it felt lacking in a few key areas I hadn't seen in a few places.

The Good:
Good for families with young children due to the many pools and entertainment options
Staff was very kind, especially the animators at the childrens club
Close to the beach and the commercial area meas you can do plenty of things nearby

The Bad:
- It was very common to see certain machines broken, like the juice and coffee dispensers. The soft Ice cream machine seemed to be there just for show.
- 1 of the 3 elevators was broken during almost our entire stay, and since the place is so crowded it made waiting for elevators take a really long time, especially during lunch times. The place has 14 floors so using the stairs is not always an option
- Pools close way too early. I realize it's because lifeguards have to leave but not being able to use them when there are 3 more hours of intense heat is really annoying. At least some of the Kids pools should remain open.
- Glasses and cups provided by the hotel during lunch hours are very small, forcing you to constantly having to get up to refill and there not enough drink dispensers for such a large and crowded place
- Some shows at night are entertaining but others but others, like the Brazillian one, feel really improvised and are just stalling for time
- Very few drink options in the all inclusive menu

the whole experience was OK not great. Apart from the breakfast all other dining experience in the hotel was terrible. I would not advise going for half board or all inclusive. hotel room for the 4 of us was not big enough very little space to move around.

the entertainment was viewable, the kids were happy.

The hotel is really nice. The breakfast is extraordinary with an en endless variety, I have ever seen in so many good hotels that I have stayed at. There are so many swimming pools and all very clean, so it was really nice. There is enough parking available on the streets to park the car, and it is free of charge 24*7. The two things which I did not like are - there is not enough sound proofing in the rooms, so when someone is talking and passing in the lobby, it was clearly heard in the room. And the second is the room A/C was not so effective and was also noisy, making it a bit irritable during the sleep.

as i got there the service was crap and after the 1st night i woke up with red marks on my body! after 3 nights my whole body is full of bites! they have bed bugs and i'm fuming as my whole body still has red marks all over it! hotel is disgusting!! wouldn't let my dog stay there! the pool is filthy could see it from my balcony! would never stay here again! and will do anything to earn other people so they don't have to sleep with bed bugs!!!

Throughly enjoyed my me time here

I found hotel lovely , lovely if that's what you want , great for young families , plenty organised and lovely kids pools and waterpark , good food , great drinks , lifts weren't a problem I was on 7th floor , lovely maid , came back to room and they put a bottle of bubbly for my birthday . Which was fantastic and made my day . Nothing was a problem handy 2 minutes to beach n centre.

Nice enough hotel and good value. Few bits to smarten up, no different to anywhere else. Biggest frustrations were the rules with the swimming pools. Can’t enter the area (inc grabbing a sun lounger) until 10am (never experienced this before), and lifeguards are grumpy beyond words and chastise the kids for anything bar swimming on the surface, and there’s no inflatables allowed, which my kids love (wagon wheels etc). Food was very limited by choice, average quality and doesn’t change much day to day. Nothing special and clearly regurgitated from breakfast to lunch to tea, but it was ok. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful and it’s brilliantly located for the water park and the Pirates of Majorca show (both five min away and excellent).

Huge pool for toddlers

We stayed 3 days here in Aug 2021 with 1.5 year old daughter.

Millions of hotels in Mallorca but there's only few hotels having pool for toddlers with fountain and attraction.
Sol Barbados is only 1 hotel in Palma area with that kind of nice pool as my search.

in addition, it's located good place and also price friendly.

i recommend here for family with toddler.

Downside some members of staff were on grumpy side . Hotel can get pretty noisy at night time with people coming in different times so sleep gets really broken

I do not recommend the hotel. The price is not justified by conditions. The food is poor in quality, the unconsumed food is served at the following meals. The fruits are not edible does not look good. The rooms do not have a minimum of facilities for heating water or coffee. These devices were for a fee. The pools are ok for kids ..

We have a few pros and cons about our stay, the biggest cons would be the kids splash park closing on October 1st. Nowhere on the hotel website does it show this date and this was a big reason we booked this hotel. Not only the park is closed, but also the sports bar next to it for some reason. Another con is some of the bar staff and restaurant staff, they make you feel like more of an inconvenience than a guest. I sometimes felt like I was annoying the man at the bar just asking for a drink!
The pools which were open were also not heated. They were absolutely freezing. We went with our 3 year old and honestly apart from the kids club there wasn't a lot for him to do. We went in the pool a few days, but he got so cold we never kept in there for long.
The rooms are also very barebones, no kettle or drinks. You have an empty fridge that you can keep things in but that's about it.
Sound can also be an issue, if you're a light sleeper you will be woken up by people in the hallways, and even the room next to you.
The pros would be the location for us, the beach is a very short walk away and is absolutely amazing. The sea was warmer than our pool at the hotel.
Another pro was the kids club, and the activity staff. They were always happy and always tried to make sure there was something to do. They were great with our little one too. Special mention to Carlos who our son always enjoyed seeing around.

Overall I would say we might come back but in season!

Were do I start !!!!! There was 6 different pools that the kids loved with slides to chilled pools, the all inclusive drinks were fantastic especially the frozen strawberry daiquiris as well as strongbow cider.
The food had so much choice and a themed night every night,a pasta chef that made your choice of pasta and sauce and breakfast a chef to for freshly made omelettes as well a big choice of other foods.Rooms were spotless

Nice family family hotel

Stayed 4 nights in Sol Barbados (mid April). This time of year is out of season so many hotels were closed as opposed to fully booked as shown on Expedia. Arrived before check in time and greeted by friendly staff, one of our rooms was ready early the other was ready by the check in time. The hotel is large, with numerous pools but the children’s area / pool was closed off, there was a lot of entertainment for children throughout the day. Rooms were basic and could of done with a thorough clean. Bed was comfortable, had some great sleeps! Breakfast was sufficient and had many options, dinner was very bland a lot of fish options but we planned to eat out anyway. The hotel is situated at the opposite end of the strip about 10+ mins walk - in a quiet location. There is a short cut and access to the beach via the pool but there are several steep steps and probably not ideal during the night.

Plenty of shops around for almost everything, the bus 104 takes you into Palma or a taxi for approx €25. Plenty of restaurants on the beach front and an age appropriate ( 50s) night club called stereo that catered for all ages. It’s worth exploring other areas also, jump on the 104 and and see the towns near by. There are also boat rides and a lovely excursion in to soller a town situated by the mountains via an antique train. Overall we had a lovely stay at the Sol Barbados, staff were very friendly and helpful, hotel was comfortable, breakfast was good, dinner okay.

I specified a few days away with water slides and a sandy beach. Water park closed.
Sol Barbados is a budget model: pay as you go for towels, safe, water and fill your own in room bar.
Front of house is understaffed and resentful. The only saving grace on welcome was a lovely kid’s club/fitness girl passing: she smiled and made it believable there was still fun to be had.
Clients are an inconvenience - staff welcome consists of being passed an information letter and they continue to converse in Spanish amongst themselves as if you aren’t there, even once they decide to acknowledge your presence; with this you know that the in room phone is for decoration.
The room was nice - looked recently refurbished. Great views from the 11th floor but awful noise from traffic and rubbish trucks early morning.

A lot of the hotel was closed and works were ongoing. The pool area is barren with no view of the sea. The water park is also set next to a road.
The beach itself is a short walk down a side path and is brilliantly placed. It was all work in progress but it was blissfully quiet if you moved a little up the beach away from the pneumatic drill. Beach beds are charged at 15 euros a day - no hotel allocation included.
Food and drink is a available along the beach.
There is no gym but the fitness team laid on good spin classes and I enjoyed the bounce, too; apparently yoga around 10:30am.The same great fitness team get all involved with eve entertainment.

At the opposite end of the main strip, near the beach and a short walk to the centre. More of a family hotel with the usual entertainment laid on depending on the time of year.
Have stayed here before and would certainly stay again. Buffet breakfast was included although full board available. Nice clean rooms with balcony, great shower and one of the most comfortable beds of any of the hotels we’ve been in.

Nice hotel close to the beach\n

We're just back from Sol Barbados. We spent there a week. It was really enjoyable stay at the hotel. My nine year old son absolutely loved the aqua park. If he could he would spend there all day. The only downside of it is that most of the pool side loungers were already reserved by the people before 10am therefore if you turned up around 11am you would not find a free one.
The rooms at the hotel are simple and basic but clean. The hotel is well looked after. We had only breakfast at the hotel so I can't tell much about the food but there were enough choices for breakfast. However there were always queues for tables after 9:45 if you are not an early bird.
The hotel is situated close to the large sandy beach, only 5min walk.
There is plenty to do to keep you occupied through the day if you like staying at the hotel. Lots of different classes such as Pilates, pool biking, Latin dance. I tried a few of them and they were really good. There is nothing better than start your day with good starching class. There is fantastic children club too. My son really enjoyed going there.
The evening shows were good, most of them suitable for kids. The entertainment team puts a lot of effort to organise them.
Overall it was very enjoyable stay!

Stayed in April 2017 for 5 nights, good little hotel with a new refurb finish to it. Got a lovely sea view and was good to wake up to each day. Rooms and facilities were clean and comfortable. First night had lots of people who didn't care about others trying to sleep, shouting, laughing and slamming doors at all hours but the other 4 nights seemed to have nicer people around. Breakfast was nice, fair bit of choice, dinner was also nice, only downside to it was that unless you were all inclusive (we were half board) you had to pay for drinks with your evening meal. So each night I was eating dry. Even charged for water, I think this is the only half board I've been on whereby I've had to pay for a drink with my evening meal. I wasn't bothered about drinking beer or wine. The rooms are large, a fridge in each of the rooms and hairdryer. I did bring my own iron due to there not being one nor any mention of hiring one. The aircon was switched off (expected this time of year in most hotels) so it did get a little warm but nothing a quick open of the doors wouldn't sort out. Very close to the beach via steps/slope and you are close to Magaluf but enough away if you want to avoid. A walk to Palma Nova was about 30 mins away via a nice stroll along the beach. A visit to Tom Browns is a must!

The Hotel was good overall but I would have liked more variety instead of English Breakfast every day, also no wifi at all in the rooms ruined the experience a bit, guests gather around the reception like zombies for catching wifi. Its good that they have childcare services and that is a plus for a family holiday. Also the cleaniness is on a very good level.

Nice place but no WiFi and noisy at times

Nice hotel with friendly albeit eccentric staff. Main downside was the lack of WiFi *anywhere* - even the wired business centre had no Internet. This was a bit of a pain as I had to go to nearby bars etc to do online stuff once my phones roaming allowance ran out.

The poolside rooms also pick up a lot of noise when the entertainment is on and from nearby places such as Nikki Beach nightclub / hotel.

It wasn't awful -the pool was nice, breakfast generous (but bland), and I even extended my stay; more through laziness rather than love of the place.

The nearby Sol Guadalupe I stayed in last year, part of the same group, was better - at least last year it was. And I think the Sol Barbados is probably better than the nearby Melia Calvia Beach - same group - which is marketed as 5* but IMHO isn't.

Great value for money

We stayed here B&B for 4 nights last week. We were very impressed with the hotel for the price. The rooms were clean and were turned down every day if you wanted. Breakfast was your usual buffet style so could be a bit manic at times but the food was good and there was a lot of choice. The hotel is situated about 2mins walk from the beach and is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the strip that it makes going there an option. There were building works going on but it didn't affect our trip at all.

Good Hotel close enough to the heart of Magaluf bu

It was a modern, clean and comfortable hotel and served a purpose, somewhere to sleep while enjoying what Magaluf has to offer. If there was a downside it was the number of prostitutes who aggressively propositioned you on the short walk from the town in the early hours of the morning. They were quite intimidating, hands everywhere in an attempt to be \"friendly\" but in actual fact they were searching for Money, Phones etc. the re was also a menace that they were not alone.

Das Hotel hat alles, was man sich für einen klassischen Mallorca Aufenthalt wünscht. Tolle Abendshows, Sportprogramm, Nähe zum Strand, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten.
Unsere Minuspunkte: Programme fast nur in Spanisch oder Englisch. Meine Tochter konnte dadurch nicht an der Kinderdisko oder dem Club teilnehmen bzw nur mit mir als Übersetzerin. Und die Abendshows starten mit 21.45 Uhr viel zu spät.

Das Hotel hat mich sehr positiv überrascht. Das Personal war stets freundlich und sehr bemüht alles für die Gäste zu tun. Die Speisen waren stets frisch gekocht, gebraten, gegrillt etc. und von der Qualität her überraschend gut. Die räumliche Trennung der beiden Pools macht es deutlich ruhiger und angenehmer, wenn man auch Mal etwas Ruhe am Pool haben möchte. Alles in allem ist dieses Hotel empfehlenswert

Trevligt familjehotell med bra läge men hård säng

Trevligt familjehotell bra beläget precis ovanför Magalufs strands sydvästra kant. Stranden nådde man lätt via en trappa (vagnen gick att köra bredvid) eller via en trottoar längs med vägen runt hotellområdet. Tvärs över gatan ligger en butik butik. Partykvarteret ligger i andra änden av Magaluf så man stördes ej.

Vattenlandet har 5 vattenrutschbanor som uppskattades av vår 2,5 åring. Tyvärr fick man bara åka tillsammans i den ena så hon fick åka själv vilket dock fungerade bra då hon kom ned sakta sittandes. Tycker dock att man hade kunnat ha ett undantag för de minsta barnen så de kan åka med en vuxen ned.

Det fanns 3 barnpooler för de minsta. Utöver dessa och vattenlandets pool (plan -2) fanns det en mindre men djup pool och en större mer modern pool på plan 0. Där anordnades aktiviteter som träning, vattenbasket och några gånger blåste de upp hoppborgar med rutschkanor vid poolen.

Maten är vad man kan förvänta sig av all inclusive. De stekte olika typer av kött och fisk men der var oftast bara en kock på den stationen så det blev en del köbildning. Det var högljutt inomhus då det saknades ljuddämpning men då det inte var så många nordbor på hotellet gick det oftast att få ett bord utomhus där det var lugnt. Glass från baren ingick även mellan måltiderna.

Det som drar ned betyget var vuxensängarna som var stenhårda och kuddarna. De borde åtminstone köpa in bäddmadrasser för att förbättra konforten. Det fanns bra 3 små hissar så vi fick ofta bära ned vagnen pga kö.

Några dagar här ..

Fruktansvärda ljud . Otroligt lyhört och i restsurangen rådde det slammer och skrik, gick inte att höra sina egna andetag. Maten okej..långa köer till hiss och iskallt vatten.
Vi valde att flytta oss efter 2 dagar.

Très bel hôtel, côté enfants et adultes séparé, très bon hôtel pour famille avec enfants. Belles piscines avec toboggan. Par contre ascenseur trop petit et pas suffisant pour le nombre exagéré de clients dans l'hôtel et restauration pas top et trop de monde à chaque fois. Hôtel très bien situé proche d'une très belle plage et commerces de proximité

J’ai bien aimé le service de transfert de l’aéroport à l’hôtel. C’était moins cher que UBER !
Avec deux enfants de bas âges, c’était un hôtel idéal. Au niveau de la piscine, la nourriture, c’était très bien. Les personnels étaient bien gentils :) par contre, l’ascenseur,,, il faut améliorer.

En av de sämsta upplevelserna för vår familj var vistelsen på detta hotell. Det var uppenbart att hotellet inte var anpassat för att hantera det stora antalet besökare. Vi möttes av långa köer till allt – från måltider och solstolar till hissar och andra faciliteter. Av de tre hissarna var två trasiga, vilket tvingade oss att ta trapporna istället. Detta var särskilt besvärligt eftersom hotellet hade hela 12 våningar. Upplevelsen kändes kaotisk och stressig, vilket förstörde vår semester.

Pool paradise but lack in other areas

Positives:
Pool area is perfect for families
Big buffet and options for dinner times
Very clean hotel
A lot of staff active on the perimeter
Many lifeguards on duty all the time
Didn't notice sound or distractions from party district
Close to the beach and shops/restaurants

Negatives:
2 working (out of 3) elevators for 12 floors on a resort meant for Families (strollers, small children, etc.)
Pool opening hours (10-18)
Limited number of drink stations/bars
Playground/area for kids is a drop-off service (no parents) and not open outside set hours
Pool water didn't feel heated at all
Buffet areas are SUPER LOUD, poor acoustics
Room was very small for a Family size of 4
Lack of activity areas for kids in general
Check-in took almost 30mins despite no one in line

Es war schlimm. Ich habe zum erstenmal im leben herpis bekommen da das geschir und das besteck schmutzig waren ( wahrscheinlich nur mit kaltem wasser gereinigt) es war extrem laut auch mitten in der nacht schreiende kinder im fluhr . Pool war sehr kalt . Es waren nur 3 sehr kleine fahrstühle vorhanden so das mann ab und zu bis zu 15 min warten musste. Insgesammt war das der schlimmste urlaub denn ich hatte . Nicht weiter zu empfelen .

Tolle Lage 5 Min bis zum Strand, freundliches Personal, super Poolanlagen und viele Liegen. Grosse Frühstückauswahl, jedoch immer das gleiche.

- SEHR hellhörige Zimmer. Man hört jeden Schritt im Gang.
Entspricht meiner Meinung nach nicht einem 4-Sterne Hotel. War aber ganz ok.

Ma 2e fois dans cet hôtel petit problème au mois de Mai par rapport au mois d’Août c’est que l eau de la piscine et de la mer est bien plus froide et comme l hôtel n’utilise pas de machine pour chauffer l’eau et la douche de notre avait une petite fuite sinon pour le reste un bon hôtel 4 étoiles

We had a fantastic stay at Sol Barbados. The room was comfortable and always clean, lovely balcony, with fresh air. The Location was perfect and very closed to the buses and near the beach. The workers are very friendly, kind, smiling whole the time and special thanks to guest service manager Borja for a great support to all guests. Amazing and delicious breakfast and dinner. Great fun for the Kids with two swimming pools. looking forward to returning in the future. Lovely balcony, close to the beach, Would looking forward to returning in the future.
