The reception staff were friendly and the room was spacious. Being right next to a beach club, it is not the most ideal location if you’re looking for a quiet getaway. Had a really awkward and uncomfortable last night at the dinner buffet and the staff were unapologetic about it. I will not be returning.

Loved it here! It was the perfect location for us to stay our entire stay in Mallorca and did a d ay trips to Sòller area and another day trip to Santanyi area!
Buffet breakfast is absolutely amazing! The pools are lovely, stage is friendly, rooms and facilities are as they look of the pictures!

It’s simply not acceptable for guests to monopolize loungers by tossing a towel at sunrise and disappearing for hours. A fair system should allow a short grace period—30 to 45 minutes—after which staff clear unattended chairs and neatly place belongings in a designated area. This ensures everyone has an equal chance to enjoy the pool without playing a daily game of “towel wars.

Got a call from staff about a noise complaint around 1400 that wasn't us. The staff proceeded to threaten us with security after i politely informed them they had the wrong person. Told them they could come see for themselves and continued to be rude. Also gave us the wrong room even though i paid for a better one. The area is beautiful but the cleaning people would come into our room when i had the do not enter sign on the door

Melia South Beach and Melia Calviá are basically 2 buildings but the same resort. The rooms are nice and clean and housekeeping is great. The location is wonderful with the beach and restaurants all right there. Very walkable. We purchased the half board option meaning breakfast and dinner were included. I would only buy the breakfast option in the future. The only dinner included was the buffet and the Calvia and it was not good. We only ate there 2 out of 6 nights and it was not good. They also charge you for drinks at this dinner, even water! I felt nickeled and dimed - we paid for an all inclusive dinner but we had to pay 8.50 EUR for a bottle of water. Also it wasn’t clear that the only included dinner option was the buffet so we went to the seafood restaurant the first night, only to be given a large bill The pool area is very nice and clean. You must put your towels out very early or you will not get a lounger. We ended up purchasing the double sunbeds for 60 EUR per day so we had a place to be. There are only 7 of them and they sell out. I booked them our last days ahead of time. They won’t be available on the same day. The breakfast buffet was really good with lots of options. You can get a taxi to Palma for 45 EUR and the front desk will call them for you. The oceanfront room was very nice but it said there was a balcony but it was only a few inches. The Calvià looked to have larger balconies that you could walk on. Book the calvia and use the South Beach pool.

You have to pay for nearly every amenity it seems like after already paying plenty for the room. 2/3 of the beach was completely closed for our entire stay which is out of the control of the resort but then they still expected you to pay for a beach lounge chair and didn’t provide any additional chairs near the pool. I’ve stayed at other Melia resorts before and this is by far my most disappointing experience.

I’m only giving 2 stars because Claudia at the front desk was a gem, and the only helpful person at this hotel. My check-in took an hour as I booked a partial sea view room and they gave me a room facing the courtyard. I complained and had 2 staff members check out the room with me in which they just stated they were sold out of other rooms and I could pay an extra $50/night for a better view. I escalated to guest services, and they did nothing for me! My 48 hr holiday started off on a bad note. Their food options were limited, room service menu was poor, and restaurants closed early. I also got the stomach bug after their breakfast buffet that lasted 3 days. All in all, I wouldn’t stay there again nor would I recommend others.

the hotel is beautiful but they have horrible bad service, they have employees for fun, they don't help each other and they close places to eat in broad daylight where you can't even order anything to eat, the room service doesn't work at all, we called at night to eat something and the only thing they had was a wrap with cold chicken without sauce, the air conditioning is limited and in hot weather you literally can't sleep well because it's too hot. I hope they take my comments into account because I really don't want to come to a Meliá anymore, I went to one in Cuba called Paradisus by Meliá and it's a catastrophe and now I come to this one and again problems with the service, let me tell you that you may have the most beautiful hotel in the world but if your service is the worst hotel in the world, thank you

We stayed four nights at the Melia South Beach and loved it! Definitely the nicest resort on the beach in Magaluf. Loved the room and frontal sea view. The pool area was clean and well kept. Resort staff were helpful and pleasant. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of options and was delicious. Suggestions: there is a small table in the room but no chair, would be nice to have a chair to sit and apply makeup etc. Also the bathroom has a light sensor so every time you enter the light automatically turns on which in the middle of the night can be annoying. Takes about 5 minutes for it to turn off. Also the AC could have been 1-2 degrees cooler. The pool area can definitely use more loungers as people put towels on them and save them. One day we had to walk around for quite a while and wait for some people to leave. Can’t imagine what it will be like in high season July/August. Otherwise everything was wonderful and I would definitely stay here again. I think next time I would upgrade and get a room with a balcony.

This is a nice hotel in a very live and beautiful neighborhood. The view is magnificent, and the beach is great.
Pools' hours of operation was really awful; 10 to 18 while it's bright and warm from 7 to 21... I didn't like this part.
From reception desk to elevators, there are few steps: no ramp and no body from hotel to help!!!
Showering was challenging too as water was hot and became cold in a second.

The hotel and grounds are nice, many of the staff are nice, and the food at the hotel is good. However, unfortunately, the hotel next door plays extremely loud rave/dance \"music\" for 12 hours a day, every day/night. So loud you can feel the vibrations constantly, and you can't have a conversation or even hear the TV on full volume! It's like being in a nightclub. If you like that type of thing - great, but if you are looking for something more quiet and relaxing - I'd consider another area.

Great hotel that’s updated and clean. We loved breakfast by the pool and the easy beach access from the property. The room was spacious and comfortable. The only negative we experienced is the AC was not working, maybe only 5% so the room was a tad hotter than my liking. It is in the British party district but we didn’t have any issues with noise. Would stay here again!

Terrible Hotel if you like good service

Would love to give the hotel 5 stars because of the excellent child care and friendliness of staff. However , no one at this hotel actually takes the time to explain which restaurants are included which restaurants are open at which times ….
At the end of the stay you are bombarded with a HUGE bill despite pre paying for breakfast and dinners…
And if you like room service this is not the hotel for you because the hotel will not show up with extra towels , or food , or wake up calls or anything else you ask for .

The hotel was excellent. Direct beach access. Great ‘boardwalk’. Many options for eating and enjoyment. Water Sports are also right on the beach at hotel. The room was just perfect to enjoy the sunrise or sunset (sea view). The b/f options was superb. The staff helped us with trip plan & transportation. They had everything on site you could imagine. The room great toiletries, robes and towels.

The hotel in general is OK. Shower on my room 101 dirty, moldy, it looks like they tried to repaired but the outcome was pour and unpleasant. For a family oriented hotel no entertainment activities for kids at all. Service staff let say it was ok. Exterior areas in general were clean. Reception staff “OUTSTANDING” We probably will continue staying at Meliá hotels, but South Beach at Magaluf will not definitely be our first choice.

Clean hotel with a great staff right on Niki Beach. Close to everything. Nice lounge and delicious breakfast. I'd choose a Jr. suite next time for the extra room and balcony. And definitely get a room with a sea view...it's worth it!

Very underwhelming. I have stayed at a lot of different Melias and this is unfortunately the worst.
Hotel looks good from the pictures but doesn’t quite match up.
It doesn’t help the area around it is poor, thankfully the Magaluf strip was closed but a few bars are still open and the sound proofing is not good, I can’t imagine what it is usually like in the summer.
The rooms are fairly basic but very clean. I did have a powercut, so I informed reception, went out for dinner in Palma and came back. Then had a knock at the door and it was someone coming to fix it hours and hours later!
The hotel corridors are dark, noisy and smell of smoke, it reminded me of a cheap Spanish package holiday hotel.
The staff at the front desk are not the best and very slow.
The pool area is nice but is very shaded, also right next to Nikki beach which is great if you have a day planned there as taxis are always hard to get when you leave and means you can walk next door

If you just graduated from College and your idea of fine furniture is Ikea, this is the perfect hotel for you. The shower door falls apart as you touch it and the minimalist approach is supposed to make the place hip. It doesn't. The staff is made up of very young 20 somethings who cannot care less if you are comfortable or not. They just graduated high school and don't know anything about anything! Like their own country, no less the world. The island has very little to offer and it's the first hotel I've been in that the pool water gets colder as the day goes on. I cannot even comment about the service because it is nonexistent. The food is cafeteria bad and bland. This is the only place in Spain that I know of that can mess up Paella! The Carribean, it is NOT! Oh, did I mention that the beach is cold, unfriendly and you have to PAY if you want a chair!!! Enough said.

Tip bondi beach restaurant is the best in the area for dinner and lunch i definitely recommend this hotel FYI nikki beach wasn't loud they close at 8:00 pm don't listen to the other reviews didn't not know what hell they were talking about !!

We weren't very pleased with this 4 star rated hotel. Our room overall was ok, except that there was black mold in the shower & above the shower on the ceiling. Otherwise room was pretty clean. The hotel is located in a loud area, we didn't mind, but was woken up a few times. The food at the hotel was just ok, nothing special & over priced. All but one bar tender didn't know how to make drinks (that were listed on their menu). Each person made it differently & it wasn't worth 13€. Service was also VERY slow. The view and pools were beautiful, but unless you wake early to save chairs w/ towels you won't get a seat. One of the 3 pools is mainly for children as well. There were LOTS of children running around too, not sure if it was the time of year that we went or if it's more of a \"family resort.\" Also, they offer \"The Level,\" program to guests. You pay more & are treater better basically, as well as have access to your own pool and beds on the beach. Otherwise you have to pay 20€ per chair or 80€ per bed.

However, the hotel is right on the beach & close to a boardwalk. There are lots of restaurants, although the food options weren't good. We only found one restaurant (Bondi Beach) that had various options, delicious food & great/friendly service.

Great location...definitely a mix between Miami, Vegas with European mix. Nikki Beach next door do you could imagine. Property is spacious and clean. Rooms are clean and great shower products. Breakfast is great with many options. Service in general is Spainish slow. Meaning they think they are moving but generally slow with everything.

We upgraded to “The Level” and were very disappointed with the advertised VIP level amenities and what we actually got. The exclusive Level pool area only has lounge chairs for about 30 people, so you do not get to lounge by the exclusive pool. The marked area reserved for Level status by the adult only pool is not monitored or enforced, so there are people with general level taking up all of the lounge chairs that are supposed to be for VIP level. Also, if you actually get a lounge chair by the regular pool and want to take a water from the Level refreshment area, they strictly enforce that you can’t take the beverage items outside of that area. Why, when they do not offer enough lounge chairs in that Level exclusive pool area?

A complete let down and dissapointment

I have used this hotel when it was formerly called ME Mallorca Hotel twice and it was an excellent hotel, but having just visited under its new owners Melia South Beach Hotel the standard of this hotel as dropped dramatically, it is definitely no longer a four star hotel, the service was extremely poor, the staff of a very poor standard being very rude and uninterested in its guest, I had to ask for my. room to be serviced having returned in the early evening, balcony door would not lock, and safe would not work, surely all of these issues should have been addressed, before moving. a guest into a room, this hotel is just barely now 3 star, I did not even receive my wake up call on day of leaving, luckily I was awake before I needed it. But having reporting this issue they not have cared less, I will not certainly return to this hotel, along with any future guest I would imagine.

Nice and trendy hotel right on the beach in Calvia/Magaluf. However, it was a bit run down for a 4 star resort. They need better upkeep and couldn't help but feel like it matched the rest of the slightly worn Magaluf vibe. However, great location on the beach, by tons of the party nightlife and a great starting point for exploring the island. They have a small area of parking that's free of charge, otherwise you have to valet for about 30 euros a night. This was never an issue as there was always parking available. Staff was extremely attentive and helpful.

Amazing hotel! Really great location right next to beach, bars and restaurants. Local shop right across the road and hotel is next door to Nikki Beach. Room was modern, clean and beds super comfy. Lovely thick white fluffy towels. Coffee machine and reasonably priced mini bar! Pool area is fantastic with poolside service bringing drinks to you. Lots of available sun loungers! Breakfast was great with loads of selection. Had everything that we needed and wouldn’t hesitate to book again! Only reason marked down was our balcony had frosted glass and therefore had no view when sitting down which was a shame as views of beach were lovely!

5th year going , very disappointed. Paid for a suite for 5 days had to stay in a Mode room for 1 night over booked. Managers say it was Expedias error !

Restaurant staff, barley beds especially ( Pedro) and breakfast Manager and outside cleaning lady, lovely friendly hardworking people

All other Managers no time for them at all. Tell you one thing and then do something different. Lost all trust with them.

Modern hotel close to a small beach. Good food. Nice atmosphere with lounge music playing by the pool and lobby. The loungers at the beach are not part of the hotel. Cost is € 50 for 2 loungers and 1 umbrella. A little bit further, there are cheaper loungers. Service needs improvement. Bar service extra slow. A/C in room does not go lower than 21 degrees Celsius (with the curtains kept closed). Hallway noisy, the room doors are not noise isolated, you hear everything. A bit of a pain when the party goers come back in the middle of the night.

Refund still outstanding

Hotel required a different card for payment on arrival - no problem. However, they still have not yet sent a refund of the original transaction. Therefore two hotel payments have been debited and I am yet to receive a response from management regards the outstanding refund. Poor customer service prevents any merit.

Great hotel and good location. Upscale atmosphere and nice people. I booked a Chic Suite for a nice view and a relaxing holiday and was very disappointed they gave me a room in the far right corner that had a view of a palm tree with no sea view. I went back and they changed me to another room on Floor 1 that was right next to Nikki Beach. Unfortunately they did not have any rooms higher up with better views available. The new room was a much nicer view than the previous room but still you could hear the boom boom boom of Nikki Beach and the Me Pool music until late in the evening. I would recommend this hotel for the young professional type of a guest that is looking for a nice party. People looking for a quiet hotel might be better suited somewhere else. Great perks of this hotel include easy beach access and access to towels and lounge chairs at the pool and beach. Also, I couldn't find it anywhere on the website but there is valet only parking and it's $30 so be aware of that. I ended up parking on the street so that saved money. Overall, this is a great hotel and the people working there were very friendly.

This hotel was amazing and what I would consider paradise . The breakfast in the morning was exceptional . The rooms were luxurious as were the grounds . Loved that they had an adults only pool. Definitely returning!

Bad service, not the room we booked

I booked a room with a hot tub in the room as advertised on Hotels.com. However upon checkin, we did not get the hot tub, that we paid for. When I called concierge, they stated that a manager will call me. Which they never did. When I went to front desk, I met with a different person who stated that same thing, that they will notify the manager. The manager never called me nor addressed my room.

Also, the toilet in the room, upon checkin had brown water.

Also, I was charged for 2 nights when I stayed for 1. I noticed front desk that I will be arriving late but they were not able to accommodate.

All these experiences combined together did not provide for a good experience.

I will be requesting a refund for my stay.

Excellent location, horrible front desk

The location is excellent, literally steps from the beach. However, the staff was seriously lacking...Marta hung up on me not once, but twice when I was calling from the airport. I know it was her because the first time she put me on hold I heard her check someone out in, told them her name, then hung up. The next time I asked her if she had hung up on me, she said she didn’t understand, then hung up again. Once we arrived the staff did not get better. I never at any point saw the “aura specialist” touted about in their descriptions, everything inside the hotel was astronomically priced, and the staff was indifferent at best. The women at the front desk being the worst. I called to ask about the spa, and she said I could go down there and check...the spa is inside the hotel and the people working there are nice, however all the offer is massages, nothing more. The “skin inc” area they talked about is nowhere to be seen, and when I asked the girls about it they had no idea. It’s literally in the catalogue they leave in your room, the pictures are online, as is the description, but it doesn’t exist. Maybe they acted so passe to us because we weren’t in one of their suites, but I don’t see that being acceptable. If we go back to Mallorca we’ll stay at one of the other dozens of beachside hotel options.

Wow! Amazing hotel.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. We almost extended our vacation just to stay at this location. Staff was excellent, the room was amazing, and the included breakfast was a hit. On the sand with beach beds available. Next to a walk with plenty of restaurants and other stores. Everyone spoke English well, which was very helpful.

Rooms were great. However bathroom with glass walls was a bit strange. Food was good, a little expensive though. Breakfast was excellent.

This is the second time staying here. Very nice view from the beach chairs-but you have to pay €30 for two chairs. The service is severely lacking. The hotel is very nice for the price. The sea view is not so great as it overlooks the ac units. Nikki beach is next door which is pretty cool.

Amazing breakfast

Stunning decor and modern. Wasn't offered wine on arrival which I'd read about and looked forward to, others after us were. We were left standing waiting to check in. Only hand towels till last day, no coffee and milk refills even after asking. Loved the pool area and beach access. Breakfast had so much choice and was amazing, so relaxing and great staff here who looked after everyone. Drink prices were crazy expensive. Mountain view room looked over lively main road , but was surprisingly quiet, couldn't hear club music from next door. Loved the hotel overall and look forward to returning

Modern hotel - a shame about the staff and service

Staff were rude and unapologetic.
Room was not cleaned more than once, even after being asked.
Party did not finish until 2am - no apology from staff. Completely impossible to sleep!
Bill upon leaving was incorrect. This was not 1 item but the entire bill. No apology for this being wrong.

Nice hotel on the beach

Room-good-cleaner doesn't automatically replace coffee etc
Reception staff very slow to the point that you begin conversation in a good mood and 15mins later you are in a bad mood!
At ME hotels they also automatically, with out consultation, charge credit card in pounds not euros- this is disadvantageous if you have a Euro MasterCard as I do-I made sure I was charges in euros at their restaurant the last time we ate but £1000+ of my bill was charges as pounds-which makes cross and forcing a refund and recharge is impossible.
Hotel expensive, but ok to eat in-go to Bondi beach restaurant, the Olive tree ( in the next bay)
Port Adriano 10Euro in taxi is also worth a visit to eating night

46 year old in Magaluf

Spent the last few weeks bike training in Alcudia and wanted to spend a few days closer to the airport chilling by a beach. Couldn't have picked a better hotel! Rooms clean, spacious and well laid out and the staff were excellent. The hotel is located at the end of the Magaluf strip and so it is quite peaceful. However, a short 5-10min walk takes you into the centre of everything. Enjoyed my stay and will return.
