What would’ve otherwise been a great stay turned bitter when I became very ill after eating from the hotel’s restaurant. I was due to check out at 11.00 am with my flight leaving late in the night. The evening before checking out, I ordered the Garden Prawn Hot Pot with medium spice, a meal recommended by the waiter at the restaurant located on the 6th floor. A couple hours after eating the meal, I woke up with severe abdominal cramps and this was followed by several hours of diarrhoea and vomiting, which prevented me from returning to sleep. Realising I would be in no shape to check out at 11.00 am, I phoned reception at about 6.00 am to explain my situation and request an additional night.

I then visited the nearby hospital where I spent a few hours receiving IV fluids and other medication to stabilise and rehydrate me. I spent the afternoon resting at the Lotos Inn until 7.30 pm when I felt well enough to head to the airport for my flight.

The hotel has handled this incident poorly. Despite phoning reception from as early as 6.00 am, I was shocked to learn while checking out that the restaurant had not been immediately informed. I’ve not been offered a refund for the cost of the meal and I was required to pay for an additional night that wouldn’t have been necessary had I not gotten sick. I’ve since emailed the hotel requesting reimbursement of my expenses and they’ve ghosted me.

Th staff could not have been more friendly and flexible. A very safe hotel in the CBD that doesn’t break the bank. Pay the slight enhancement to have a room on the side of the little park. Huge breakfast choice covering all options. Spacious rooms with fridge and cupboards for longer stays.

Very clean hotel. Our room had great space with kitchen included. Room was always cleaned whenever requested. Everything has been great but can get a bit loud upstairs since there’s restaurant above.

Good location, clean and spacious room

Stayed two nights in a room that was large, clean and comfortable. The location was great as it was within walking distance of several grocery stores, malls and restaurants. Given the proximity to the main road it was a little noisy, but manageable. The staff and security were friendly and welcoming. The staff was able to accommodate an early check in due to an early morning flight arrival which was much appreciated.

Nice place, worth the money :-))

I was supposed to get a welcome gift or drink being a gold member, but did not.

Other than that everything was good, but while the room was spacious, I measured it to be about 440 square feet, it is not the 1200+ square feet as shown on the Hotels.com listing.

This should be corrected.

Great neat well kept hotel centrally located in Westlands area, you could literally walk to three Malls without using an Uber. They have 24/7 hotel staff that are there to always take care of your needs. A great place to stay.

Breakfast was not good - apple juice and orange juice was clearly mixed with water… ordered pork chops and got a mixture of lamp and pork. We also had a scare when one of the cleaners attempted to get into our room after hours - I believe he was after my Mac book computer which I left out by mistake. There’s also and ever presence of, who I can only assumed are the owners, parading the restaurant area who are not friendly at all. I would not stay here again..

Quite pleasant. My room (416) was large and had a great bed. My only complaints would be; no aircon, the WiFi was very hit and miss in the room, and the shower temperature was impossible to control. I’d stay here again, but it would have to be a different room.

The rooms were spacious and cleaned everyday; linen changed as well! The staff were knowledgeable, friendly and ever so helpful! The entire stay was so pleasant, I would recommend the hotel anyone staying in Nairobi. Close to the malls and a walking track just across from the hotel!

Property was nice, rooms were spacious and clean. Bathrooms were great too. Breakfast was OK. My room was right above the front desk so it was really noisy early in the morning as staff came in. Loud conversations at 5am is not pleasant. That’s my only complaint. Stay here just request a room away from the elevator and front desk.

Will not stay here again

The hotel is not what it has been described or rated. A good way to assess a hotel is the quality of towels they have in rooms. The towels are old and smelled musty and old. The room is big and just about it. Very few barebone amenities. They provided toilet papers, three one quarter of a roll, almost look like they were left over from other hotels bought for cheap prices.

The breakfast is terrible. Very skimpy. The food ordered from the restaurant was good, though pricey, so I am not sure why the breakfast is such a terrible barely cooked. Very few items and most of them are not palatable, like Chicken Gizzard, too much of non-breakfast food items.

The bed is old, I mean old like a dinosaur. When turned and tossed on the bed, it was making so much noise that it is feeling like greaseless wheels of a truck.

Staff are OK, not the most friendliest.

The front office staff was not co operative. They refused to upgrade the room for me being the VIP member and they charged extra for all the nights we stayed at the hotel. They refused for the late check out.

Second time to stay in this hotel where we were given a room which faced another property which takes away personal privacy. There was a issue for me regarding the drainage which throughout the day filled the room with an unpleasant odour. The staff however were exceptional from restaurant to bar reception house keeping to security. Everyone greeted with a smile and they are who have saved my second review from been overly negative. The biggest issue was the drainage smell.

Henk's Loto stay in Nairobi

Was taken to a cheaper room than booked.once realised and reported they corrected it and helped me move.Also assitex with changing my breakfast from the departure day to the arrive date as I would leave early before they served breakfast.
