The room was clean, the wifi worked great, hot water all week, the view toward the neighbouring hotel and pool was quite cute, and
the hammock chair on the balcony was a cozy place to sit first thing in the morning when the birds are talkative in the trees.
ALL of the staff I encountered over the week was exceptionally helpful and kind!
If you don’t like listening to awesome, live, Gen X music at high volumes, and noise bothers you, you might want to use earplugs….lol (I Loved it!)
And the food/drinks at Fah (the connecting bar/restaurant was fabulous)!
I also loved the convenience of being right on 5th and less than 5 min walk to the beach.
I would definitely stay here again.

We loved staying here!! The entrance is right off of 5th Avenue. Fah bar and restaurant has good food and has great live music.

We stayed on the bottom floor, room 102, close to the bar and the music at night didnt bother us. We liked being able to hear it from the comfort of our king bed. The pool could be nice, but the constant falling of leaves from the tree prevents that. I think they only run the pump for a short period each day. We didnt come for the pool thankfully. We liked having a patio with a table and chairs, but the mosquitos were too bad in the courtyard to sit outside. The staff was very nice and they are there 24 hours. We felt safe with the gated entry, but they need to add another gate from the bar. Anyone can walk through the bar to the hotel. Our room was nice and clean. The maid came every day. The lock on our door needs fixed.The shower is pretty small, but over all fine. We would definitely stay there again for the price!!

This is a hard review because we love this hotel Playa Del Carmen is a yearly destination for us and after staying here last year we had no intention to ever stay anywhere else the penthouse was perfect for us. This year we rented the penthouse again and were not informed that the lower bedroom was not available and locked up Everything was dirty nothing was prepped for our visit the refrigerator was in and out so we lost food that we purchased the microwave took four days to arrive as apparently the old one was broken and instead of buying a new one they had to wait for someone to check out to bring us a replacement. The stove didn’t work the oven didn’t work the whole room smelled like a fish tank our mattress was stained and disgusting. After all of that they still tried to charge us 350 pesos to replace a towel because they said it was excessively dirty so we took it back upstairs and hand washed it brought it back to white and had to take it back down something they could’ve done with the washing machine. They provided no bath mats no dish towels for the kitchen. The pool was cloudy and disgusting and just a mosquito breeding ground so the mosquitoes were unbearable when sitting on the balcony. The reservation showed up to six people we checked in with four and when my niece came for the final two nights they tried to charge me for her. The water was shut off twice. We have already booked with a different hotel for next year and are so disappointed

Staff was courteous and helpful. Rooms are small and very antiquated. There was no hot water in our room for two days. The door to bathroom was rusted on the bottom and did not lock.

Pros: located right in the heart of the shopping and nightlife district.

cons: as mentioned above and no elevators if you’re carrying heavy luggage. Definitely not a place where you’ll sleep in the quiet.

Loved the penthouse, classic charm and great service from reception. Right on 5th and easy walk to the beach. Spacious with all the amenities. Reception was very helpful and friendly. Cons terrible water pressure upstairs, the penthouse is third floor and the hotel has elevator and the noise level was incredible. A lot of reviews complained about loud music, I booked anyway because late night music is typical in Mexico. The hotel bar and the nightclub on the backside combined to make concert level noise with overlapping music until 3am every night. If you are a night owl it shouldn’t be a bother but if you need sleep that’s impossible. I would still stay again as accommodation and location were awesome.

The penthouse is huge for the price! The property is not super new but given the price, it was a nice stay for me and my whole family. Close to the beach, shopping, and it is nice that they have free breakfast which helps save money. However, it is SO LOUD at night, especially on the weekend days. Clubs are all around so you hear the party for hours into the night. Somehow, we managed to sleep through it, even my one year old. I also enjoyed the pool, and at least some of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Overall the hotel was nice once we moved from the 3rd floor to ground level. The late night music was expected as we read on other reviews. Pros: very convenient to restaurants, bars, shopping and beach. Bed was decent enough. Safe in the room was a plus. Staff was friendly and helpful. Cons: pool is more of a lap pool and was cold due to the canopy of trees hovering over, not to mention all the fuzzies that drop in the pool. No lounge chairs by the pool. There was a TV in the room but only able to get 2 channels (both in Spanish). The stairs to the upper floors are hard to haul luggage up and down. Not a bad place for the price and a free breakfast every morning. If the pool situation would have been different I would most likely stay there again.

Hotel in a bar

I want to emphasize that this hotel is located IN A BAR, in order to enter the premises and get to your room, you have to drag your luggage in between the tables through the bar and loud music. They said we have mentioned loud music but I didn’t see it anywhere on hotels.com so I want to make sure people have this info. The staff were friendly and trying to help but at night there was no-one to help with the luggage.
There is no parking so if you have a rental, you have to consider parking farther and pay. The stay certainly is not peaceful especially for my mom and myself but I can imagine a group of college kids can have fun with the location being in the middle of a bar and close to all the action.

This is a nice inexpensive hotel. It includes a nice breakfast to start your day and the staff is friendly. In a touristy part of the city but if you like live music and bars this is a good place to be. I had a hammock in my room & when it rained all day I ordered food and hung out on my balcony with a beer. Centrally located to most venues.

Uuuufffffff super nice and very attentive always helping if you need anything. The breakfast had big portions and if you didn’t have time to eat there they would pack you a breakfast. I have no complains for this location it was the bomb.

I liked the location of the hotel and size of the room. I didn’t like that there is no phone in room, no one was there to help with luggage up three flights of stairs, the bathroom needs to be updated as it seems like it’s sideways and very old and the fact that there is no one at front desk overnight.

Anyone who stays here should know that it is a hotel behind/above a rock bar restaurant, so there is music playing most of the day and into the night. We enjoyed it, but some people might not be able to sleep - that's why earplugs are provided. The rooms are very basic, but we had the necessities, including air conditioning, television, a hammock on the balcony, and hot water. It was also in a great location and breakfast is included, which was also a huge plus.

The hotel is in the middle of 5th ave, so it’s right there for food drinks and shopping, how ever if u rent a car you have to park it in the parking that’s maybe 2 blocks away and pay a fee( not that expensive, how ever if you are staying for about a week, it could be e extra $50 USD) the hotel also has a bar/ restaurant with live music every night so if you are looking for peace and quiet, this is not the place for you, the music stops maybe after 12 midnight and you can hear it from your room. Cleanliness was ok not super clean but not dirty. Over all I would stay there again for a short vacay if I just wanted to stay away from resorts and in to playa del Carmen

Staying at the Siesta Fiesta Hotel was unworthy and disrespectful!
There were a lot of problems that did not respect the guests!!!
The hotel is located above a restaurant, the restaurant shows live rock concerts until the wee hours of the night and it feels like the band is in your bedroom, we had to sleep with earplugs that did not really help. and at 6:30 am the workers start preparing the restaurant and making a lot of noise and it feels like it's happening in your bedroom.
Which means that we could not sleep properly during our entire stay at the hotel!!
Let's continue with the fact that the wifi does not work well, constantly disconnects.
The stairs to the room were really challenging and unworthy! It was really hard to climb into a room with luggage and even was very dangerous! In addition they were located right next to the kitchen of the restaurant and it was not pleasant at all!
And now let's go through the problems in the room itself:
The toilet was so close to the marble and sink that you simply could not sit without your knees rubbing.
The air conditioner was broken.
There was not a strong stream of water in the faucet of the sink and the shower.
There was no ventilation in the shower which made the smell stinky and unhealthy in the whole room.
At breakfast we asked for tea instead of coffe (because we did not drink coffee) and demanded an extra charge (for tea !!!!!!!)
If you want to sleep on your vacation, do not go there !!!

A Diamond in the rough

Pros
Hotel is extremely well located in the best part of quinta avenida.
Breakfast was amazing and included for the family.
Fah restaurant / Bar the best Bar in quinta avenida with good prices, food and music. This place was always packed.
Rooms were cleaned every day

Cons
Pillows should be change to ensure a confortable sleep
Windows and sliding doors should be replaced by impact windows to minimize the sound of the bar live music which plays until 12am.
Bathrooms are not nice and should be updated as they have uneven floors , small sinks and awful decoration.

The hotel is in the back of Fah bar which is nice but also complicated due to the loud music at night. I did not mind it that much since we go to bed late but if you are a light sleeper I wouldnt recommend it. My room was 101 which is in the ground floor and the closest to the music.
First floor rooms are bigger so try to get the ones far in the back farthest from the music. The picture from Hotels.com is for one room in the first floor that has been updated with new tile and apparently during my stay they were updating the other rooms as we saw workers carrying tile boxes.

I would definately stay here again but if the floors are change the batrhooms are renovated and the windows and doors are changed with soundproof I would stay here always.
The place is a diamond in the rough.

This is a good basic inexpensive hotel room. Helpful friendly staff. Very clean. Comfy bed. Quiet and cold A/C (adjustable). Excellent comp.breakfast (not buffet) at Fah. Hotel is located behind Fah restaurant & bar (Good location. On 5th between 8&10), and has live music till around 12:30-1:00am. After that it quiets down. Nice balcony with hammock. In room safe was big enough 15\" laptop. Only downside is no pool.

This is a hotel for the young party crowd. Not for families or couples that want to sleep before 4:30 am. It is in a great central location, within walking distance of most everything. The restaurant was one of the busiest on the strip. very much seemed to be a hangout for a lot of \"American extended visitors\". The hotel was very plain, no frills, but kept clean by the staff.

I still there for 7 days, and it was being amazing, the staff was bad but we didn't care so much, when, the last day when we were packing our stuff to go home, and the perfume of my boyfriend wasn't there, yes, we were stolen, and the hotel didn't apologize neither help us. They said the manager wasn't there, they could not doing nothing, they trust in their employees and we should put our stuff on the locker. Really? A whole suitcase ? Give me a break!
The hotel is very peaceful, the music at night is good, but I'll never comeback and I don't recommend for anyone.

Overall ok experience. The noise didn't bother me as much considering it stopped around 1 and I was usually still out. My issue was that they were doing work on my balcony while I was there. Kind of annoying. And after they were done it was literally thrown back together with ropes. I leaned up on the railing and it allmost gave away (I was on the third floor). Also when it got really hot one night the power kept tripping every 10 minutes. The only plus was the location and Bar Fah was great!

Continental breakfast was a smoothie, coffee and some bread and jam. Often they forget one of the three. Take your time for the breakfast since it will take at least ten minutes before they bring you coffee.

The basic room has no glass windows. So expect mosquito invasions and a high volume of sound coming from the live music bar downstairs till 1 am.

They did not do our room one day. They also forgot to replace toilet paper.

They are renewing the rooms downstairs so there is hammering all day long at a very high volume. From 8 am to 6 pm non stop. Can't sleep late or have siesta.

DO NOT STAY HERE, THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS!

Stayed here for one night with my partner having previously stayed in the Playa area. Absolutely the worst place I have stayed in Playa and all of Mexico particularly as it isn't actually a very cheap rate. I would never stay here again.

Walked through the busy attached bar to the \"reception\" (which is a table outside) to meet the receptionist who greeted us with a mere \"show me ID now\". We were appalled by her manner and just as flabbergasted by the unsafe, dingy room we were led to. We stayed on the third floor which had a balcony however the door leading to it was more fitting for an old shed than a supposed hotel room. It had panels missing and did not close, therefore we did not feel safe whilst in the room or believe that our belongings would be safe if we left them unattended. Also no a/c and sockets hanging from the wall.

Moreover, the live music at the bar attached downstairs plays extremely live music until around 2am, which was so loud we could not watch the TV in the room.
The rate states a free breakfast however this is only coffee, poor orange juice and a measly bread basket.

I have never given a negative review before however I do urge you to stay elsewhere. This is more expensive and worse than the hostels in the same area and a world away from Casa La Galleria which is the same price but offers modern rooms and a/c.
I hope Siesta Fiesta improves as Fah bar downstairs is a decent place for a drink, but please don't waste your time staying here!!!

I love this bar/hotel!

This was such a great hotel! The atmosphere of the bar was great and the staff were helpful and always recognized you. There is no air conditioning but it wasn't needed. The bands were easily heard in the rooms especially because the windows were only covered with a screen, but they played great music so it was easy to sleep. I have no complaints especially because of the location.

This hotel was an excellent value. The air conditioner was great. The room was clean and well furnished. We checked in for 2 nights and next time will stay longer. Other reviews have mentioned the noise from the nightly bands, but that certainly did not bother us or keep us from sleeping. I did think it funny that the room came with 2 sets of ear plugs! They were not necessary. I think next time we will request a second floor room over a third floor room as the stairs could be a challenge at night or with luggage. The location is very convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had no problems with booking, check in or departure.

Good stay, enjoyed the music from our room!

We booked knowing that there was a bar attached to the hotel where there was live music every night. They provided ear plugs (which we didn't need to use), but the music actually ended up being very enjoyable. We were near the back of the building so it wasn't overly loud...it was almost like a personal serenade! However, I'm glad we only stayed one night. There was also a simple, but delicious breakfast.

What a Beach Vacation should be like.

This hotel was a awesome. When you think of vacation In Mexico in a beach town this is what it should be like. The room was clean and very comfortable.....the balcony was the best ..with the hammock. The entrance to this place is a bar that is very good for hearing live music. Even if you just want hang out on your balcony...you can lay in the hammock and hear the music from the live bands playing. Just an awesome experience.....I will go back to this place to stay from now on!!!

Perfect Exotic Getaway for Great Price

This place was perfect!! Beautiful rooms tucked away from the street with exotic jungle-like feel. Right in the heart of the city with plenty to do. The staff was excellent. Loved the bar / restaurant and the live music every night was great! Definitely recommend it!!

All night fiesta!

Would not stay here unless you plan on partying all night in bar/restaurant below room. Extremely loud music. Ask for a room with ac towards the back. Only could stay one night. Asked to be moved. Said there would be an up charge. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Great location on 5th Ave.

Pros: location

Cons: almost everything else. Room was kind of dirty and the whole bed and pillows reeked of mildew. Bathroom was tiny and toilet slanted pretty heavily to the side. Room wasn't available at stated check-in time. Staff was indifferent to rude.

the bed was the hardest ever in my life....very uncomfortable. No cover was provided and cold. Music blast all night long and cannot sleep....downstairs bar until 2AM and next door nightclub until 6am.

Great hotel with an awesome atmosphere!

Only stayed one night here but I had a great time. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is pretty good. Beef tacos were awesome! Had a fantastic room which was super clean and had two fans and a mini fridge. Only down side I found was that they used sarongs as blinds for the windows. They were virtually transparent and at night, the room across from me could definitely see into my room and bathroom. Not the most comfortable feeling knowing people can watch you. Other than that, it was an amazing stay!

The hotel locates at the heart of carman beach. The room is clean, and tidy. There is a nice bar in hotel. Nice music!
The only problem is the music is loud at night, but it is not a problem to us, because the music are so good!

Loud and no A/C

We stayed for two nights and left sick and tired. We figured we'd take a chance on this hotel since it was reasonably priced in the trendy upscale PDC area. We found it difficult to sleep before 1am with live bands playing downstairs and next door and with no A/C made it even tougher. We read all this info in the description and reviews before booking so we knew all this beforehand. But we decided to take a chance anyway so I guess we got what we deserved. The hotel staff was very friendly and they have 20% off at the restaurant downstairs which was nice. All in all though I wouldn't go back.

Heart of PDC but noisy and no A/C

This hotel is right in the mix of everything going on in playa del Carmen. Easy to walk around and get just about anywhere. The only drawbacks were that it was noisy at night due to live bands at the bar below and next door which played until 12:30am. Also, there were loud party people staying right below us, yelling and playing loud music at random hours of the day, night and even morning. We kind of figured this would be the case since we read reviews beforehand but we were on a budget and this was one of the best deals we could find in the overpriced tourist district of PDC so we took a chance on it. I guess we deserve what we got but probably wouldn't go back. The rooms were kind of dirty and not well maintained. There was a refrigerator which was nice but no AC, they told us we could upgrade to an A/C room for $20 which seemed kind of pricey. The staff was very friendly and they have 20% off at the restaurant below which was nice.

Don't trust those pictures

The pictures are not updated. A couple of dirty showers and housekeeping job was not the best one, they seemed lazy. Bathrooms are in very bad shape and the lack of windows is unacceptable. loud music (didn't bother me but just for your information). No A/C, they provide you with a standing fan that blows hot air due to the humidity in the area. Breakfast is ok, I guess for the price of the hotel (bread with jelly and OJ with coffee). Great location and great restaurant. They give you a 20% off to use during your stay.

only stayed one night as i moved on, but it would be a great location if you were going to hit the clubs and stores around there. Difficult to find as it is part of a bar there. great live music at the bar. cute hammack on a concrete deck off the room. Very basic, not a room to book if you are looking for comforts or long stay, but perfect for looking for a cheap room and great location.- as long as you aren't looking for quite.
