This condo resort is an an excellent location in Playa del Carmen - right on the beach, beautiful pool and within walking distance to many restaurants. Rooms are well appointed and any issues we had were very quickly addressed by the concierge. Highly recommend this lovely spot!

We loved our stay at the Elements! The pool was incredible and very large. Private beach right across the street. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our condo was absolutely beautiful with a patio and ocean view! It’s in such a great location, nice and quiet but just a few blocks away from the hustle and bustle of 5th Avenue. We could walk everywhere. Highly recommend!

The hotel is very pretty and the location is pretty nice but I think the pent house should be cleaner. Bathrooms were very dirty, towels were all stained, floors were very dirty. There was a jacuzzi but it looked like it has not been cleaned in months. I would stay again but I really hope they take better care in cleaning because it’s a beautiful apartment. Oh and there was no hot water during our stay and I did let Miguel know about it.

The air conditioning in our unit did not work properly. One of the bedrooms was warm the entire stay, it was very uncomfortable and was never fixed. I did not receive an ocean view room as I requested and paid for either.

Meh… Master bedroom is a loft with two double beds… felt like it was an episode of leave it to beaver with my wife and I sleeping in separate beds lol.. have fun with that. Hot tub disgusting, couldn’t use it. The small room with the king bed had the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever had to sleep in. Pull out couch quality at best. Washing machine was broken and made a horrible noise when we attempted to use. They came and tried to fix but it only got worse. We checked out at 11am this morning but the property manager ( clearly clueless about our reservation ) is still sending me updates about the washer even though we’ve been gone for 5 hours… No extra trash bags so our trash built up like crazy, no recycling options either… Beach was in bad shape through no fault of the resort, we were there only days after Hurricane Beryl made landfall. Listen, we had a fine time… but there were tons of issues. We tried this as an alternative to being at an all-inclusive resort, never again.

Our stay at the condo hotel was sufficiently pleasant overall. The unit itself was a highlight: comfortable, spacious, and surprisingly well-equipped with everything we needed. It felt more like staying in a well-appointed home than a typical rental.

However, the complex left something to be desired in terms of amenities. With only one bar/restaurant by the beach, the options for on-site dining and entertainment were quite limited. The front desk staff, in particular, were notably unhelpful and seemed indifferent to the concept of hospitality. This was disappointing, especially since we had not been to the area before and could have used some guidance and recommendations.

Additionally, the listing on Expedia did not clearly indicate that this was a condo with no hotel services. While this was manageable, a bit more service and support would have enhanced our experience, especially for first-time visitors unfamiliar with the area.

In summary, this place is great if you are completely self-sufficient and enjoy exploring on your own. But if you prefer some level of service and assistance, this might not be the best choice.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Elements. The condo was perfect for our family of 4 to have separate spaces after spending all day together, and a full kitchen to cook meals and save some money! The pool is absolutely huge and fantastic. The beach club was also wonderful to have across the road. We had a great stay!

NEVER AGAIN!! Getting a reservation in this place. To start off reception guy “Fernando “ was asking not only for our ids, but my kid’s id’s or passports even though they were minors why? The plumbing was BAD I.e. toilets were spewing after first use, handwashing sink dripping, 2nd floor toilet handle broke the sliding door locks were broken tape was the used to keep them locked supposedly. There was no telephone in reservation & the WI-FI in condo did not work so I had to go to lobby to ask for their Wi-Fi so I could call Expedia to help me cancel reservation stay and book my next day flight because I could not spend the night with my family & kids here. I brought the issue to reception and they were trying to get ahold of the condo owner and they (lobby personnel) also were getting frustrated with owner and his attitude as they were explaining my situation. As we were about to leave the hotel the same night I asked lobby to request the shuttle that brought us to hotel since we paid for round trip and the guy Fernando again was giving my wife an attitude because we were telling him to call our shuttle then he refused so we walked out of hotel and asked some locals for their phone to call for a taxi to airport. Once I was at airport the reservation owner tried to call me or give me another reservation, after all the issues we had experienced in one night was enough for one day since we had reservation for 10 days we were already exhausted and disappointed & wanted to go home.

Great lobby, location, pool, and staff. The property manager was excellent. However, the overall condition of the unit was disappointing. It needs some work to be considered anything more than 3 stars. Multiple water leaks from ceilings and windows, and the patio furniture and grills were falling apart/unusable.

Overall we enjoyed the stay, and it has potential, but its not worth the money as it is right now.

The 2 bedroom property we stayed in was outdated. The bed was comfortable but shower water was not filtered.

Outside our room there was a giant pile of rotting Sargasso (seaweed)that smelled really bad and was also attracting gnats, insects.

The cardio room/gym was the highlight of the facility although the second floor was not air conditioned every day and this made exercising in May 'uncomfortable'. :)

It is also further away from the heart of 5th Avenida which makes walking into the center of the splendor slightly more difficult.

Due to that inconvenient Sargasso situation, my wife and I can't review the hotel in a very positive light.

Can’t beat this place for the price. I thought what we got for the rate was excellent. Pool was clean. Condo was good, but beds were very hard unit G11 and there was a very strong ammonia smell that persisted all week. But this place was cheaper than most 2 star hotels with way more to offer. The little bar by the beach had good fish tacos too. We could walk to tons of restaurants from here. Basically the value can’t be beat. We also liked this side of 5th ave more, it’s less crowded, feels safer and it’s pretty quite.

Property is not bad for price. Just who work there. Some people. A worker at beach club asked for tip even i did togo(take out for just 2 things). I didn't even seat any chair. Me and my family stayed for 1 week. Cleaning fee was expensive and there was no Cleaning supplies for guests. Also bric( it's company for that condo) only gave little bottles of amenities(shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a small soap). I booked mexico site of expedia first and then canceled. After book again in America site of expedia pakage(including flights). After I stay couple of days, bric lady texted me for my credit card because mine was canceled. I explained this and provided new reservation number, but still she was asking my credit card number. She ruined my whole day of trip. And she wasn't even sorry. Next day she sent me invoice for payment.. that even made me more confused. I got so mad at her. And then she explained that was from expedia. Why? Does she have to send me that? I paid to expedia and if she had problem with expedia, she should talk to expedia. Not me. Anyway, i never want to go back that place. The Elements.

As much as I love the location of property. I was not so happy with the enourmous pile of seaweed across the street. The smell would make it unbearable to sit out on patio. But in is not the Elements property of where that pile is. Elements in my opinion is quite the gem. Secure, clean and friendly.
We stayed in 121 which had a great view of pool and the sea. My only problem was the musky smell, which i get being in a high humidity climate. But I know that can be treated. Not exactly allergy friendly for me. I will definitely stay at the Elements again next time i am in Playa.

We stayed in a penthouse which has 2 floors and 2 balconies with ocean views. The pool is giant and has a sun shade over a section. The property’s beach club was just across the street and served drinks and food. There was also a 7-11 conveniently across the street from the front entrance. The bustling 5th Ave was a 5 min walk away. Communication via WhatsApp was excellent.

The room was spacious and had a great view of the ocean. There were peices of broken glass around the lower deck, the hot tub did not work and does not have a cover to keep debris out, also no scoop or net available to clean out debris, could not be used at all. Room faced boat launch, noise and lots of turned up seaweed. Beach club is next to marina, very narrow beach and swimming area. Walking distance to many stores and restaurants was a plus.

The place was perfect for a family . It was big and spacious and many expats live here so it’s quiet . The pool was safe for even small kids since there is an area where the water is very low . It was walkable to fifth avenue and plenty of restaurants . I would stay here again.

We couldn't have found a more convenient, well kept, friendly resort property than the Elements in Playa Del Carmen! We stayed in a ground floor condo, with all the comforts... walk outside to your patio and into the pool or 200 feet to your private beach! Our concierge, Miguel, was always available with answers & recommendations to help make our valuable time enjoyable. We absolutely will stay there the next time we visit.

The penthouse we booked was great. Everything we needed was their. From towels, silverware, pots and pans etc. The a/c was top notch! We felt very comfortable at this property and the staff was eager to answer any questions we might have. The pool was clean and large enough for many people to enjoy and the beach was only a across the street. Overall we think we got our monies worth and we would definitely recommend this property to family and friends.

This was our first trip to Playa Del Carmen and we loved the condo at the Elements. It was clean, comfortable, great view and had all the amenities, including a washer and dryer and a wonderful fitness center. We also loved the decor, very reflective of the culture with bright, vibrant colors and art work. This location is within walking distance to several restaurants, shopping and grocery stores. The pool and hot tub were amazing and the access to the beach was the best. We felt very safe there, staff were friendly and helpful. Mr Miguel was most accommodating, answered all of our questions, made wonderful recommendations and arranged transportation for us to and from the airport. When we return, definitely staying here again!! Room 112.

Accommodations were what we expected in terms of space. We all loved the pool. It’s a great pool! The condo we stayed in could definitely use some updating. The plumbing fixtures in kitchen and bathrooms were rusty. Even the metal legs on couches and beds were rusted. Tears on the couch which we were told the owner was aware but yet didn’t replace! The kitchen was functional but cabinets were oddly placed. The stove was missing a knob. The dishwasher is old! We didn’t spend much time in the condo so it was okay overall.

The location was great (right on the beach) and the building was actually pretty nice (grounds were well-kept and the suite was nice and roomy), but the service was essentially nonexistent. Waited a whole day to get someone to unclog a toilet, hot tub never warmed up, and they messed up the return airport shuttle. Lighting was either too bright or too dark, and total lack of facial tissues and scented TP were irritating. Sofas were horribly uncomfortable.

This condo hotel is good but not excellent. It was built in 2006. The first unit we stayed in was very run down, worn out and most appliances didn’t work or only half worked so they eventually moved us. The second unit was better but we still had problems with the dishwasher and one toilet. Kitchens are horribly designed and not well equipped. I talked to a women in the pool and she said her unit still had everything original and look tired. Another man the stove and dishwasher in his unit did not work. Location is good, safe and near grocery stores and shops, beach is just okay (there was considerable erosion during our stay), the pool is large and excellent. So renting here is iffy.

Location of this condo property is so convenient to everything, X parks, PDC downtown, shopping and dinning options are abundant nearby within walking distance. The property manager Miguel is exceptional! The communication before and during our stay was fantastic. Miguel is on top of everything we requested and provided in time. We had a minor injury at the Xpark and needed prescription medicine but could not find it in the closeby pharmacy, Miguel took it over and delivered the much needed medicine to our apartment within an hour! We are really grateful for his exceptional service, so would definitely recommend the property to anyone who’s looking for non-all inclusive vacation rental in PDC area! Again many thanks to Miguel, our wonderful rental manager!

I found a used condom in the trash on my first day, hairs all over the bathroom, room clearly not cleaned and no consideration given to hygiene during a pandemic. View of beach obscured by an area filled with workers and garbage. Pool was too cold to be used. Worst trip I have ever taken, and other than allowing a late checkout, nothing was done to right the multiple wrongs.

The property was very nice and spacious, I do have to say this my view vs the property view is not the same I booked a OCEAN VIEW 2 BEDROOM LUXURY CONDO and I’m 6.3 ft tall and I couldn’t see the ocean from the balcony.. it was a pool view which the pool was amazing. ALSO bathroom towels are not changed our daily either you wash them yourself or pay for that service.. very close to everything and beach is right across the street

The only disappointing thing was their lack of communication we had a unit in which the dryer was not working and we tried to contact maintenance but no one answered to emails or phone calls.

The property was beautiful, maintained very well, very cleanly. Pool was cleaned everyday, the room was awesome, very nice! We did lose power for a day took them hours just to come in and UN-trip the switch lol. It’s right on the beach & every room has a big balcony with partial view of ocean & full view of the pool. The only bad part was all the seaweed, not recommended for beach day.

Nothing to like from this place. The pictures are nothing like what the hotel looks like. We had reserved ocean view and got pool view. The concierge argued that it was ocean view. There was a horrible smell and housekeeping does not do your bed or clean. We checked out the very next day!

You don’t need to pay big money to be closer to all the activities.... in fact Cancun is further away from Xcaret, the Mayan Ruins and much more... Playa Del Carmen is Safe and centralized for 90 percent of the places.

It was real nice experience at the elements. The rooms were very large plenty of room to roam ...close to beach & 5th Avenue....My only complaint was our couch was very low to ground . It made very difficult to get out of it

Beautiful location and unit. Quiet but walking distance to the beach, pool, shopping and restaurants. You really don't need to rent a car. Our unit was modern and had a lux feel that made our stay comfortable and memorable. We loved the spectacular ocean view. The unit was spacious inside and outside with its furnished patio. The sparkling pool was just down stairs and the beach steps beyond that.
I was initially hesitant to book a condo-hotel versus a full service hotel. I wanted this to be a memorable vacation for my family and not feel like we were staying at a shabby timeshare. My concerns disappeared as soon as I arrived. The Elements looks like a high end residence even from the outside. Inside there is wall to wall travertine tiles. The kitchen and bath were very updated. All the rooms were spacious and clean. There was even a washer and dryer in our unit. The AC kept us in comfort from the warm weather.
We had a personal concierge who stayed in touch to help with any issues which we didn't run into at all.
All in all I am so glad we chose the Elements, and I hope to stay here again the next time we vist Playa Del Carmen. it is definitely at the top of my list.
