There was black mold in the shower. Upon bringing this to the front desk’s attention, I had already been in the room for a few days and had been breathing this in. I happened to look up while showering and noticed MOLD in the shower. Management refused to provide any credit or compensation toward the daily $28 self parking or daily $20 amenity fees which were not disclosed when booking or checking in, when checking in I was told $54 would cover 8 days of parking and now I’m being charged $54 daily. I have yet to be told what the daily $20 amenity fees are for as booking this room for a week was already close to $4,000 on top of $400+ at check out for parking and amenity fees. I am extremely frustrated that my respiratory health was put at risk, and I’m extremely upset that management and the front desk were combative and refused to provide any kind of credit or partial reimbursement for the room not being cleaned properly prior to me checking into the hotel. I will be filing a complaint with the state’s Department of Health, due to poor ventilation in this room. There are also cracks going down the wall, and chipped baseboards and other miscellaneous quality issues with the room. The Davenport is lacking compared to many other high end hotels. The music they play outside the hotel too is very much electronic dance music and does not help this hotel feel like I’m at a high end establishment. The front desk service and hotel management is not friendly or helpful

The cleaning staff was unacceptable.our room was not cleaned by 4pm and when we complained no one came to the room until approximately 6 pm and at that point did minimal cleaning.In follow up dirty glasses were not removed. Charged $25 for checking in 45 minutes early. Then spent almost an hour in line trying to get up the elevators as they only had 1 working… this continued during the entire stay. Was told there is no stairs access unless it’s an emergency. I understand it was hoopfest and very busy however making it impossible to access your room quickly completely ruined our experience. We never got an apology, any kind of credit or any incentive to make up for the elevator issue.

Been staying at Davenport Hotels every year for over 15 years. This was the worst experience to date. The front desk attendant was rude, refused to give my wife a new room key, made me walk down with my ID with a sprained ankle, even tho we had already been staying at the hotel for 2 days, and checked in together. When told “you remember checking us in” attendant rudely said “yeah well I see a lot of people in a day”….old management remembered us by name everytime we stayed, along with remembering every other guest staying their hotel at the time (as good hotels do). All beverage vending machines removed from hotel, and nowhere to buy bottled water. Asked the front desk attendant, and they told us to take a cup down to the gym and USE THE WATER FOUNTAIN. Unacceptable. Then the other attendant said the would send 2 bottles of water up to our room, and just never did. Our bathroom was DIRTY upon arrival, and I have pictures to document. Elevator floors filthy, hadn’t been vacuumed in a long time (my young son stepped on a staple in the elevator when going down to the pool barefoot in the elevator…again, never a problem before). No longer provide amenities in room. Valet was sitting on his cell phone and we had to wait until he was done with a personal call to get our vehicle. Extremely disappointing stay. Worst stay in the 15 years of Davenport stays. Won’t be coming back to the tower.

The staff at the Tower are phenomenal! We had an issue with our AC unit and they had the engineering team there within 10min (at 9pm) to check it out. Unfortunately there was a bigger issue with the systems in that particular room. But they were able to move us to another room within 10 min. We had two tired kids that really appreciated getting to bed on time.

We checked in early for a fee, but they failed to tell us it was the ADA room. Our room also didn’t have a fridge. The mattress was super comfy but it had 5 of the flimsiest pillows ever. The soaps provided are Loccitane which are nice! I appreciated the 12pm checkout too.

We had a large group book a weekend stay for a birthday party with 7 rooms. Prior to the stay I almost cancelled due to a very rude front desk rep. I requested to have 2 of the rooms adjacent and she immediately said no, they don’t do that. A few days later we called and the Marriot rep was very nice and placed a note on our account for the adjacent room request and said no problem. Then the day before our arrival we called the front desk to see if early check in was available, the rude lady answered and told us they don’t do that either and she “immediately deleted the note” when it came through. The staff was wonderful everywhere and assisted us with our cake. The pool/hot tub was great and was nice how warm it was in January. Also the food was fantastic. It would have been 5 stars if it wasn’t for the lady I spoke to on the phone. Our family agreed to make it an annual tradition trip

Check in staff not super friendly. Seemed bored. She gave us one sample of peanut brittle “as Marriott Bonvoy members.” We asked for one more sample as there were two of us and she said, “No. I’m sorry. There’s only mone per reservation.” Seriously? A high end hotel couldn’t cough up one more peanut brittle sample? Then to add insult to injury, we walked into our room only to find a truck backing into a parking spot directly outside our window. We went to the front desk to change rooms, which we were able to do, after having been told that we got “what was leftover because you checked in so early. If you’d checked in at the check in time the room selection would have been better.” Really? We stay in hotels an average of 7 weeks per year and have literally never been “penalized” for checking in early.
