My wife and I had a delightful two night stay at the Hotel Rose, with the intention of visiting Mont-Saint-Michel. Our arrival and check-in were very smooth and the staff were most helpful in ensuring we had all the information we needed about visiting the Mont and the abbey. The room (cabin) was set in a small park of around 10 other cabins. The bed was very comfortable and the cabin had two comfortable armchairs and a dining table with two further chairs. The en-suite shower room was well designed and the hot water was always on demand. The hotel is a one hour walk (4.4km) from the Mont, although you can choose to drive to the large carpark and take the shuttle bus should you wish. My wife and I walked both ways (we are in our 70s, and it is straight and flat, and has a lovely river to walk beside) in order to take in the spectacular views of the Mont on the way. Beauvoir village has several restaurants offering good quality evening meals at reasonable prices, and the hotel staff are happy to advise. We took our breakfast at the hotel, which was a plentiful continental breakfast. Many thanks to the welcoming and friendly staff for making our stay extra happy.

This is not a hotel, these are plywood boxes (i did not go inside the main building). There is no AC, no ceiling fans, and no windows. There is a small hole in the wall that you could stick your head out of if you were suffocating. Which you might be June - Sept. Save your family, or bring loads of deodorant and a portable AC unit.

Very beautiful and comfortable stay with a unique artistic edge. Though not new, everything is very well kept. Staff is very kind and helpful. There is a 2 km beautiful walk to the free bus that takes you to Mont Saint-Michel, but we chose to walk the whole 4 km taking pictures along the way.

i LOVED coming back after 17 years to this beautiful location. Calm and charming. It is the people of this amazing family run hotel that makes all the difference in your stay, not the fancy room. Rooms are extermly clean and comfortable, basic, but wonderful.

Being able to take a bike to Mt. Saint Michele, having have fantastic food at the onsite Food Truck (family run also) , plus the lovely family who remembered me from 17 years ago. WOW, Can't wait to go back. If you want a lovely and quite place to stay and explore the region, stay at Hotel Rose, you can do it directly or via expedia.

Ont saint michel. However, you cannot see it from the hotel. The rooms are basic but adequate and some rooms have do you have to climb to stories no elevator. Reasonably priced.

In our drive through the French countryside we found the hotel closer to the Island than I had thought it would be. The hotel is modest but the staff were attentive, kind and personable. We were comfortable and happy with our stay and would stay there again.

Easy place to stay near Mont St. Michelle

Hotel Rose is family run and a very convenient place to stay near Mont St. Michelle. Their English is good and they communicate well by email. We stayed in a cabin in a park like setting 30 yards from the main building and parked our car next to the cabin. Easy to load and unload the car. The cabins have a curved roof on one side and a full picture window view of the park on the other, which is a good safe place for children to play. The shelves on the curved side were easy for my 5'4'' wife and daughter to use, but not for 6' me. Because of COVID, breakfast was simple and take out.
The family staff were very helpful and shared stories regarding the Abbey, the history of their family and the area, and suggested other nearby things to see. Our daughter and I enjoyed our stay. My wife would have preferred a more conventional hotel. The hotel is right in the middle of the very walkable town of Beauvoir, but we were never bothered by noise from the street. There are bicycles to use as well.

Opportunities were- no blinds or black out curtains in window in bedroom (we were on the 1st floor and it was a little creepy), no extra pillows in room (pillows were very flat)

The setting and location of this property is hard to beat. If you walk out the backdoor, you find a path that leads you to Mont St Michel. If you walk out the front door, you can enjoy a garden space with tables and chairs to relax. We would stay here again!

My husband, 2 college-age kids, and I spent a quiet night at La Rose in June. The property has a handful of sod roof cabins in a large yard with chairs scattered about for relaxing.- ours had 2 double beds and a bathroom. The beds were comfortable- a bit like glamping. Plenty of hot water for 4 showers. They have bikes that you can ride on the bike path that runs behind the property to Mont Saint Michel- we went at dinner time (after 6 bikes are allowed all the way to MSM- otherwise there are bike stands about halfway to lock your bike and you can walk the rest of the way). Was beautiful to be there at sunset! Much less crowded than during the day, although many of the shops were closed. Breakfast (a breadbasket and fruit plate) was served in the glassed porch of the main house and was nice.

We planned to visit Mont St Michel and choose this hotel for location. We were warmly greeted and provided recommendations for dinner which were all within walking distance. Our room was simple but clean and comfortable. No television but we didn't miss. Bike rental (1 euro + deposit) was available which we used to ride on a great non-car traffic path (right behind the hotel) to the abbey. This saved us 14 euro for parking and allowed us to ride right up to the entrance. Overall, we were pleased.

It was just what we expected, an older unique place. The staff were great! The walk along the river to the free shuttle to St Mont Michael worked out well. Halls echo a bit so there is some noise that carries but not enough to be a problem. Staff were so friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

Interesting hotel and grounds - lots to explore but we were there only overnight. Our room,in a building adjacent/behind the main house, was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was quite good. We especially appreciated a tip from the young man working breakfast that we visit Fougeres Castle, which was right along our planned route. It was well worth the stop.

Very welcoming and very helpful staff. Perfect location if you are visiting Le Mont Saint Michel.
Everyone at Hotel Rose were very helpful, offering suggestions of where to go and what to do. Bikes available for hire at a very reasonable cost.
Fabulous breakfast offered if you wish - recommended.
Negatives were that the WiFi didn’t actually work - in fact there was a signal from another hotel 50/60m down the street.
Second negative was that the property in and around the cabins themselves seemed a little tired and in need of some attention. I should add though that this does also seem to be a conscious decision by the owners to have minimal environmental impact.

Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. They advised us to go to Mont St Michel in the late afternoon which we did and the crowd was significantly less. Price was awesome and we had breakfast in the hotel which was great. We had a great view of Mont St Michel along the bike path. We could have taken the bikes for rent for 1 euro but we decided to walk. Next time we will take the bikes to save our legs for the steps at Mont St Michel.

Hotel was like a camp ground from middle school. Go with low expectations. Biggest issues were only one tiny window so it was extremely hot. None of the wifi spots worked. And the outdoor seating area and table were covered in aunts. Not recommended for familys. Think hostel equivilant. The owners are very nice and helpful

We had the best time at the Rose hotel. An amazing location, steps away from fantastic restaurants and best of all a 10 min bike ride to the Abby. Hotel rents bikes for 1 euro. Helpful hint...get to the island before 9am you will avoid the thousands of tourists!

We wanted unique and that's what we got!

While travelling through France, we wanted to stay in places that were unlike anything we have experienced in Canada. This place fit the bill! Our \"rooms\" were little round-roofed buildings with grass growing on the roof! The inside was neat and comfortable, with it's own bathroom, table/chairs and two double beds. Room darkening shades on the large windows :D The owners are polite, informative and came immediately when we had a question about the heater in our bathroom. Breakfast in the quaint sunroom was very good! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it! Very close to Mont St. Michel

We loved this place and would definitely stay here again. The gal in charge met us outside and was all ready for us. She upgraded us to a bigger \"cabin\" for no extra charge. The whole place was very charming and just a few kilometers walk to Mont-Saint-Michel. We did not take breakfast here as there was a bakery directly across the street, which was fabulous also.

Perfect place to stay for a walk to the Mont

After much research, decided not to stay on Mont St Michel but to find somewhere where you could do the walk - and couldn't have been happier with Hotel Rose! I stayed upstairs in the house - the room was basic but it lit up with the sunset, had a view of the river and I had one of the best nights sleep of my holiday. Easy & scenic walk to the Mont, lovely staff and cute little village - including bakery across the road that opens at 7am if you want an early start.
Also looked at the garden rooms and they would be perfect for a group or if you had children.

Nice, quiet hotel near Mont St. Michel

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Our room was quiet and comfortable. The hotel backs onto a walking/bike path along a river that takes you straight to Mont St. Michel. If you don't feel like walking they will happily rent bikes for the trip. The hotel has no restaurant but offers an excellent breakfast. There are restaurants close to the hotel. The owners were very helpful, answering any questions we had related to our visit to Mont St. Michel.

Fabulous, crumbling, grotty wonderful place!

We loved it here, think a crumbling, rusty rural crumbling retreat from the 1970's. The whole place needs a vast renovation but perhaps that is its charm. We rented bikes for 1 euro and rode to Mont St Michel along the river (about 20 mins) and loved it. For what it is the hotel is VASTLY overpriced and very basic. But for location and experience we enjoyed it. Service excellent, the reception guy was crazy useful.

Hotel Rose quaint and rustic

This place is awesome!!! The staff are very kind and speak wonderful English. From check-in to our cottage, Louise told us all about the Abbey and the quaint town of Beauvoir. We were able to walk from the hotel by the river to the Abbey. Beautiful river view! Our son who loves nature, enjoyed the trees in front of the cottage. It did not disappoint him at all(climbing, picking apples, and gathering their branches). The hotel's cottages are quaint and well maintained. We enjoyed breakfast and upon our departure we got tips from our friendly waiter on some great sights on our way to the Normandy landing beaches. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Our family of four really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Rose. It is a charming place, not particularly modern, but very comfortable and welcoming. I would describe it as more like a guest house than a hotel. We stayed in the room with adjoining bedrooms. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, the shower was hot and we had enough space. The breakfast of pastries, fruit and coffee is very good. The wifi signal was good around the breakfast area, but very weak in our rooms. Most importantly (for us) it is well located for visiting Le Mont Saint Michel. The hotel rents out old bikes for just 1€ per day, and it is a nice easy ride (or walk) of about 2km along the river to the shuttle bus to Le Mont. (If you go before 10am, you can ride all the way). In addition, there are two good restaurants across the street. We would definitely stay again!

Although I was here for only 2 nights, my stay was great. The location was near some local tourist restaurants and stores and a bus stop that got me to Mont St. Michel quickly if I didn't want to walk all the way there and back. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Due to possible inclement weather, they arranged a taxi to come and pick me up and take me to the train station, which was crucial to my follow-on travel plans. Although I'll probably never get a chance to go back a 3rd time to Mont St. Michel, I'll still keep their business card because if I ever get a chance to go back, I'd certainly stay here again. I certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Mont St. Michel.

Lovely family-run hotel. Great for families as the rooms are in a small park full of toys to play with and no cars are allowed in this area. Also quite unusual as the rooms are made of reclaimed wood and are insulated with a grass roof. Just stayed here with my family of 4 including two teen age daughters. Overall, it was a very unique and cool place to stay. You are basically staying in a private cabin that is clean, comfortable and without pretension. We just came from the Trianon palace the night before and still really liked this Hotel Rose. And the price can't be beat.

This is the BEST place to stay!

This was the most delightful hotel. It is a family operation and we were greeted by a young man who made us feel at home, immediately. Our room was very comfortable and we loved the luggage rack that held 2 suitcases. There is no doubt that this darling place is run by an artist. The decor is amazing - who ever thought to use a soup ladle as a soap dish. We loved this place and will stay here again on our next visit. Plenty of parking and across the street from a wonderful restaurant.

Great choice for visiting Mont St. Michel

This hotel is located next to the paved trail that leads to the stop of the free bus that takes you to Mont St. Michel. The walk is about 20 minutes, but the hotel will rent you a bike for a couple of euros per day. Also, if you arriving by train to Pontorson, the bus line that runs between the train station and Mont St. Michel stops across the street from the hotel. The layout is in the form of very charming cabins that are nicely kept. The breakfast is reasonably priced and serves great french bread. Hotels that are closer are substantially more expensive, and it is not worth paying the extra price. This was an excellent choice from every possible standpoint. In addition, the staff, which is the family owning the place, is very nice and very helpful. This is a great pick.

Bike to Mont St. Michel -- great place for family

The best thing about this hotel is its proximity to Mont St. Michel. A pedestrian/bicycle path runs along the back of the property which leads directly to the monument. The hotel even loaned us complimentary bicycles and locks so we could ride all the way to the base of the monument. This saved our family probably nearly 100 Euros in parking and bus fees, and made it even more fun to visit the monument. A bike ride along a path near the river beats a bus and parking lot! Add to that the wonderful ambiance of the hotel itself, and this was one of our favorite places to stay on our recent European vacation. We stayed in a small cottage in a grove of trees off the main building. It was delightful! It was like camping without the hassle of packing tents and sleeping bags. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. A small boulangerie is located right across the street, which made meals very convenient. If we ever get to return to the area, we will definitely stay here again. As a note, if you are arriving late, make sure you inform the proprietor. Someone tried to steal our reservation by pretending to be us, but because we had called and let the owner know we would be late, he took care of us and made everything right.

Girl Weekend to Mont Saint Michel

This place is great! I'm mostly a backpacker so I'm use to unique buildings, social accomodations, bare-necessities type of places but I've never stayed in a such unique and homely place. It's not a hotel, it's not a hostel, and it's not a bed & breakfast by any standard definition. And it's not entirely a campground either although you can camp there too if you want. It looks like a standard 2-story victorian home until you check-in. I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely go back! TIP: Check the tire pressure on the free bikes before taking 'em out.

Hotel with character

My family and I stayed in one of their self-contained family rooms in the grounds of the hotel for a one-night stop-over. The room was lovely and comfortable and it was a real bonus to be able to borrow some of their bicycles to cycle over to Mont St Michel, which was a lovely ride along a cycle path directly there. My kids especially loved it. If we pass that way again I would definitely re-book this hotel.

Good location about 25 minute walk to the Mont

We stayed in the annex building with a nice view over the river. Very simple adequate room with comfortable beds and adequate bathroom. The room has a big window which makes it light and airy and gives a nice feel of the French countryside. The promised internet was not working when we stayed which was very inconvenient. There is a big car park and several good restaurants and a bakery across the road. You can borrow bikes to pedal to the castle.

What a surprise!

Our group of 5 arrived very late. We were able to park right behind our \"chalet\" . The individual rooms were similar to a cabin with knotty pine ceilings with an outside roof planted with flowers growing slanted to the ground. The bedroom was large and clean with a sitting area and with table and chairs outside for our picnic dinner. In the back of the main house was a river and a view of Mont St Michel in the distance. Had we stayed longer, we would have taken a walk in that direction. The owner also had bikes. Breakfast was in the large, sunny enclosed terrace where the owner's original artwork was on display. We were served a huge basket of croissants , pain au chocolat, pastries and baguettes. Owner gave us great sight seeing tips which we followed. Very nice change from the small hotels rooms we have had. Felt like we were at a country cabin. Highly recommend for families and group travelers.

Great little hotel in close proximity of St-Michel (we walked over from the hotel) this is not luxurious but was clean and cozy. The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the breakfast served in the house.

In close proximity to Le Mont St Michel

This was a very unique property with individual quonset hut style cabins. The cabins circle a small meadow. It was very rustic, but clean. The rooms were spacious and had 2 double beds in each with a small table and 4 chairs. The owner was very helpful and pleasant. Wifi is only located inside main house and only from 8 am to 9 pm.

Great for our family

The size of the room was perfect and the breakfast very good. The owner was pleasant to us and helpful in suggesting tips on the area that otherwise one might miss. He also assisted me with a phone call to St. Malo to help with a forgotten Mastercard with one of the shops that we had visited the day before.

Very comfortable economy accomodation

We were a bit concerned by the few low ratings that this hotel had been given, however we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are individual \"cabins\" that look shabby from the outside but ours was exceptionally clean and well maintained on the inside. We all slept well in the comfortables beds. We wish the windows would have had a proper curtain, but the two blanket material curtains did the job okay and being so close to Mt St Michel was important to us. The owners were very easy going and extremely helpful and friendly. This was a very good experience for us.

Perfect one night stay

I would describe this Hotel as 'quaint'. It has the perfect setting and is great for families. We had a room with 2 double beds and it faced onto a grassy area where the kids met another family and played safely!!

We didn't eat there as we only stayed 1 night but the owner was really friendly and helpful and recommended the restaurant opposite to eat in which was great.

Pleasant stay

Hotel is as advertised, individual bungalows made of eco-friendly materials, located near the Mont Saint Michel. Unfortunately no internet though. We were excited that they provided bikes free of charge to get to Mont Saint Michel, but did not wind up using them due to rain. It was only a half hour's walk to the shuttle anyway, and was very easy to get to. Per Expedia's note, we contacted the owner upon realizing we would not make it before 8:30pm, and owner was very accommodating about that. Pleasant stay overall, would come back again!
