The location and staff could not be better. The room size and cleanliness were very good. However, we had a serious issue with the heat not functioning. The staff was very accommodating in sending up the maintenance staff and in supplying space heaters. The overall building is in need of window insulation and heating upgrades it appears to be very inefficient and detracted From our comfort.

I stayed at the Great Neck Inn in December while attending a conference, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The outside temperature was around 20 degrees, yet the heat in my room did not work and the temperature never rose above 60 degrees. The room was painfully cold and uncomfortable.
I spoke with several other conference attendees who stayed at the hotel, and none of them had working heat either. The only solution offered by the hotel was an old space heater, which made little to no difference.
After my stay, I contacted management to request a refund due to the conditions. Instead, they offered a discount that wasn’t even half the cost of the night. I couldn't wait to leave this room and would never recommend anyone stay here.

The staff was wonderful. Maria, the gracious housekeeper, Felix the welcoming valet, Paul the quiet, courteous clerk and Hannah, our lovely bartender. She makes a really nice Old Fashioned. Made us feel welcome.
The heating system is good down to 20 degrees outdoors, but can't handle a cold snap. Luckily, maintenance came up with a space heater and we warmed up.

The Inn at Great Neck is a fantastic place. This is the second time to stay at the property. Close to the LIRR and the Plaza, so getting anywhere you want to explore easy. The staff and rooms were great, friendly and accommodating.

Room was clean but freezing. Called for maintenance when it was 67 in the evening. Man pulled the cover off the heater and came back with some reflective metal tape. Said to leave the thermostat on until the room warmed enough and then turn it to auto. He also pointed out there was an extra blanket in the closet. When I awoke it was 64. Before leaving the next morning, I told the front desk to get it fixed, get me a heater, or change my room. When I returned in the evening, the thermostat read 61. No communication at all from the hotel all day. After I complained they did move me to a room with working heat, but when I saw the metal tape, I recalled I had the same issue in another room the previous visit. Reading reviews evidences the property has ongoing heating issues.

We experienced several negative situations during our stay: HVAC problems throughout. The room either too warm or cold. The thermostat did not function properly. The mini refrigerator had been turned off resulting in water from defrosted ice spilling out to the carpeting. Breakfast was just bad. Lastly, what was referred to a Fitness center was no more than a storage closet with minimal equipment in poor repair. Overall, this hotel is old and greatly overpriced.

Too cold. No heat. The heat only gets turned on when it is below 50 degrees OUTSIDE. It doesn't matter how it feels inside. On the third day they finally offered a space heater.

The Inn at Great Neck was a nice place for us to stay during the Ryder Cup. Lots of demand for hotels so the prices were very high but overall the experience was good. The staff was great especially the valet runners. The room was pretty average with a couple broken cabinets but it got the job done. Room was very clean.

We have been staying at this hotel since 2012. It's a great place to stay. They now have a buffet breakfast that is much better than almost any other buffet breakfast that I have encountered during my years of traveling. Fresh made muffins and croissants, and fresh fruit make it an enjoyable start to the day. Hot coffee and tea are always available in the lobby. The staff always has a friendly smile and great attitude. Before we make plans to visit the New York/Long Island area, we always check reservations/availability here, before booking the airline. If you can't stay here, there is nowhere else I want to be. We will be back.

I have here many times. The staff is always wonderful. However, this time, the room fell short. The internet barely worked; the guide on the TV did not work, and the picture continually pixelated; the light on the magnifying mirror did not work; they did not give us 4 towels or even a bath mat. While these are not big things, taken together, it damaged the image. No, it’s not the 4 Seasons, but it’s not the Travelodge either, I have come to expect much better, so this disappointing.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is my was dinged in the parking garage. ( I can’t proof that it was them, but it couldn’t have happened anyway else).
But I did have a very pleasant stay here. And breakfast was very good also.

Stay away! The lobby furniture was filthy! The room was awful. There was a centipede on the wall next to the bed as soon as we walked in. There was a spider in the bathtub as well. Our view was next to the train tracks and there was a small roof next to our windows that was filled with weeds and dirt. The toilet handle was broken, and the toilet paper holder was coming off of the wall. People that we were staying with at the hotel said that the bathtub filled up to their ankles when they were showering. We were with people who had two other rooms and we all concur that the place was absolutely filthy. The other two couples ended up staying and had breakfast this morning reporting that not only was the food awful but there was lipstick on one of the water glasses and the silverware was dirty. We ended up leaving last night to go back to Massachusetts and didn’t even stay because it was so disgusting. Absolutely zero stars and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

There is always room for improvement....

WE arrived and everything was spot-on. The valet service for our car rental was excellent. Our bed was extremely comfortable. The in Room \"Alexa\" was extremely useful. The doorman who showed us to our room and pointed out the kitchenette and the umbrella demonstrated excellent service. The complimentary breakfast Mon-Friday was excellent. And when we checked out at 11:30 on our last day, everything was excellent.
Here is what needs to be improved IN THE BATHROOM.
There needs to be toilet replacement for water conservation. The pressure was weak. When we \"held\" the lever, it would stay and not revert back, so the toilet ran.
SHOWER: For water temperature safety, the faucet for the tub needs to be replaced. The spinning dial results in water that can be too hot.
The slope of the tub did not allow all water to drain, so there was a \"stain\" of old water near the back.
Some of the tile looked dirty, but wasn't.
We loved the sewing kit with q-tips and nail file.

We want to come back to this hotel in June 2027 for USMMA graduation.

This is quite possibly the BEST hotel I have ever stayed at! The rooms were clean and spacious. Staff were beyond friendly. Parking was great and safe! There were lots of options for food. There were many guests when I stayed and it was quiet. If you are reading this review, you’ll want to stay here! I’m still in awe of how awesome this place was!
