Nice hotel the rooms are not really has upscale as I would have expected for the amount they charge and my room had a bit of ant problem in the bathroom that I did share with the property about but overall the stay was great and staff was great and very friendly and helpful unsure it would go again through really didn’t like the room that much.

Clean and well appointed single queen room with well thought out details. Great unique hotel vibe with a great little bar, patio and courtyard to enjoy a beverage. I got a coffee each morning for my walk along the river to the conference center. Great neighborhood with vintage stores, excellent restaurants and bars within walking distance so much better than staying at a boring conference room hotel. I didn’t have a car, but there is more than enough parking. Rather than hit up the gym I grabbed a free bike and rode out to Belle Isle to watch the sunset. It was lovely.

Wonderful location, hip decor, artsy but sparse rooms were conducive to producing a ton of creative work during my stay.

A note: get your cold brew program together. To come down first thing to warm cold brew coffee two mornings, and then none on a third is less than ideal. Fortunately there are three nearby cafes all within walking distance.

Trumbull and Porter is a great boutique hotel in a wonderful location. The lobby, bar and outdoor spaces are all thought fully designed and fun spots to hang out. The room itself was relatively basic but clean and quiet. Secured parking. Only a short walk to the riverfront and Ralph C. Wilson Park. Got drinks at Batch Brewing right across the street and breakfast at Folk just a block away, both fantastic spots I highly recommend to anyone staying at Trumbull and Porter.

We chose this hotel because there was not anything near the Fox Theatre that was under $400 and there was free parking here. The staff was very friendly & bed/ pillows comfortable, although for the price all we got was a Queen bed, very small.
It is very basic, NO amenities not even a bottle of water after a 2-hour drive here, no carpet on floor so hard floor was very cold. Room was tiny, no comfy chairs to relax, only the hard desk chair, night tables were small metal and unsteady. No closet for luggage, only a rack to hang your coats. Bathtub & toilet room were separate which was nice, but tight space. Shower head was great, except the tub/shower only had a half glass door, which meant part of the tub area was open and the floor got soaked. This hotel badly needs a renovation. It’s old & tired. At least put a sliding glass door that covers the whole tub so the floor doesn’t get soaked! It is in a very quiet area. Don’t know if we will stay here again. We come often, from Canada, to Piston’s games and the theatre. Hopefully prices at our usual hotels we go to will come down.

The hotel is in poor condition overall. I didn’t like the bathrooms, and our room was not cleaned or made during our stay. The location is decent—about a 20-minute walk from the conference venue—and there is a nearby street with some dining options.

The staff were generally nice, but I experienced three very negative situations:

The heater/air conditioning unit was extremely noisy, which made it difficult to sleep well during our stay.
One night, the room next to ours had incredibly loud music. It seemed like they might have been using drugs. The front desk sent a staff member to knock on their door and ask them to lower the music, but they ignored her. There was no security to handle the situation, which was concerning.
One day, I returned from a run around 11:10 a.m. It was very cold, and I asked for a hot coffee. They refused because service ended at 11:00 a.m., even though the employee was still there and not busy.

Overall, while the staff were polite, the lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance, and inadequate handling of disturbances made the stay disappointing.

Everything was great. In particular, I want to highlight the staff. I ran into a problem with my phone charger, and one staff member went far out of her way to help me, saving me a lot of trouble. I’ll always be grateful for that extra kindness and am glad I chose Trumbull and Porter.

I recently stayed at the Trumbull and Porter Hotel and had a mixed experience. The room itself was okay—nothing special, but not terrible either. It was generally clean, though the concrete floors with area rugs weren’t ideal. The rugs in our room were noticeably stained.

The biggest issue, unfortunately, was safety. While the parking lot is gated, it is not truly secure. Our car, along with several others, was broken into overnight. This was extremely upsetting and stressful.

The staff were empathetic and kind when we reported the incident, but not particularly helpful in terms of solutions. The hotel didn’t have any proper materials to temporarily cover our broken window so we could safely drive elsewhere for repairs. We were given just a trash bag and some tape, which wasn’t sufficient given the situation.

Overall, the stay was disappointing due to the lack of security and limited support after the incident. I would be cautious about staying here, especially if you’re relying on parking your vehicle on-site.

Water and condensation under mini fridge, water stains on shelving, condensation and hard water stains on the only window in room that blocked view, gap under door which made me feel unsafe, loud room next door, weird layout of hall with had hallways off to 2 rooms with doors right next to each other, reminded me of an old apartment building, front desk staff was friendly, other staff were not welcoming, luggage cart was too small and oddly shaped, everything was artsy artisan which was a cool theme and vibe, jetted tub was clean and not residue when I cleaned it with a cleaning tab, shower drain was slow

This hotel advertises a restaurant on its website, on hotels.com, and in the booklet in the room with information about their hotel. There is NO restaurant, and hasn’t been for a few years. There is a bar, that the stafff tells us is open on the weekends. We pick a hotel that has a restaurant, so was very disappointed to find there is not one, nor a lounge if it is not a weekend. You really need to change your website and in room information!

Also, the floors in the rooms are cement- not carpet or wood, which was pretty cold. It was ok for us, but others should be aware there is no carpeting in the room.

More importantly, there were four vehicles broken into overnight that were parked in the secured area so do yourself a favour and park in front of the main entrance.

The location is "sketchy," and I would not feel safe walking around. It's in the middle of an industrial area. The staff was great, but my "suite" room had a kitchen with NOTHING in it. Not even any coffee. There were a few cars in the parking lot. The room was very weirdly set up and no area set up for working there. I see effort, but a lack of money and resources to make it as described on your Expedia page. Very disappointing.

Location is everything about this hotel. Located close and easy to everything. Staff was friendly. The gym was very nice for a hotel gym. Climate control worked well.

The style and decor were wonderful.

Shower was bizarre. It had an acrylic surround that made it hard to turn on and impossible to adjust without standing in tub. It was clearly designed for a different bathroom configuration.

I wish cleanliness would have been better. Common areas were dirty and my linens were never changed.

Coffee from coffee shop was stale. It was a pricey cup I couldn’t drink, so I’d recommend getting coffee elsewhere.

Pros: Clean room, Location was close to what we were doing, Gated parking area and the bar was unexpected positive experience the bar tenter was cool and knowledgeable about Corktown where the hotel is located.

Cons: Small bathroom, Had an outside patio area that we couldn’t use because door wouldn’t open, Wasn’t a fan of the cement floor in our room.

Overall, a positive experience would stay again.

I'm in a Holiday Inn for the rest of my stay and I can tell you it's 10 times the hotel of compared to this place. There's no noise insulation between the rooms so I could hear everything from the people next to me who were loud from 11:30 to 2:00 a.m. at the which point I put ear plugs in. There is no carpet on the floor it's bare dirty concrete. There's a rug that goes under the bed and a little bit where you stand but there's no noise insulation. The room is tiny, small there's no coffee makerin room or downstairs. You can payfor coffee downstairs. There is no breakfast offered. The secure gated parking wasn't secure, the gate wasn't closed so anyone could drive in or walk in. I came and left by car 4 times in two days and the gate was closed once. The only place to sit in the room is in two scoop chairs or the bed. The shower only had half a glass enclosure, so if you weren't careful how you showered water went over the all over the bathroom floor flooding the area in front of the toilet. The water never got very hot. Only one of the two elevators worked.

The hotel over all is super cute. The room fell flat in a few areas, there was no hot water in the bathroom sink. The room had a musty smell like mushrooms or vegetation. I have a sever mold allergy and I didn’t have a reaction so I don’t think it’s mold, just musty. I also think it would really great to offer some sort of privacy screen or something for the bathroom area. There is the sink and the bathroom, the bathroom has a door but not enough room to dry off and get dressed. So you have no privacy to go in a larger area to dry off and get dressed. I think the rooms could benefit from better seating, and better places to sit things. The bathroom was a real issue fo me for this. Everything was extremely clean as the reviews say. The lights at our bed did not work and there was a panel on the wall that we didn’t know what it did. Loved the patio room, outdoor heaters would elevate the space in the winter like right now. Over all, it’s not horrible, just things to think about. The floors are cement, they have area rugs. Very clean just different and I think could benefit from luxuries. They charge enough for the rooms they could offer some amenities.

It was a unique experience for sure. The rooms are very industrial but the whole place is very artistic. No coffee maker in the room so that you buy coffee from their café in the morning. Staff was nice but 2 of the 3 we interacted with were new. It was quiet as we stayed in the off-season but the location was good and there was parking albeit not included. It was a cool place and an okay price. No big complaints and no pleasant surprises.

Check in process was super easy. Loved the look/feel of the lobby and the hallways. I'm sure in the summer the outside is a great hang out spot, but the rooms would have to be a little more modern if I was going to stay for more than a night. But for one night, the stay was absolutely perfect and close to where I needed to be at the theatre.

Very good vibe and wavelength!!! Out of the loop in a super cool way! Unique, quiet and clean. Near old Tiger Stadium site, with very cool places to eat. Excellent third space neighborhood! I am there again for certain. Thanks Andy and Kimberly
