The location is great. The property and staff are good and nice. The only issue is that this hotel doesn’t have AC. In the afternoon it was very hot. While the fan provided made it survivable, it was not enough. It cooled off deep in the night/morning. Great for October to April perhaps. Otherwise, book at your own risk.

We like to stay at FlowSuites Polanco when visiting CDMX.
As usual, we enjoyed our visit, the staff is really friendly and the room spacious. Our only comment is that this time the suites were booked and we took a regular room. It didn't have a view to the street, it was at the \"back\" of the hotel and no ventilation, it was extremely hot. The hotel doesn't have AC but it has never been a problem because the suites have proper ventilation through the windows, not in room 103. If you can't add AC please install proper fans in the room and living room.

How is it possible you charge for a lost plastic key?. THis is th third time there is no body lotion in the bathroom and I have to ask for it. Space between bed and window is not enogh to pass thru, everytime I wanted to open the windo I had to ggo over the bed.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The minor problems were that there was no nightstand and I had to stand on the bed to draw the shades. Major problem was seepage of music all day and night until 10 pm.

This was the second time I stayed here for work. Definitely after a year and a half the rooms are looking a bit rundown. They had a suspension order on the door of the hotel which right from the start means trouble. They used to refill the water bottle and now they just left it there unfilled. The bathroom is looking tired and the knobs were broken. The safe in the closet was locked and not even bolted to anything. Bed was really really creeky and loud. In the living room the amenities are looking tired, my table had many stains. I was missing a remote control for the TV and even though I asked for my bottle of wine, it never came…I went to buy one. Anyways its looking like even the staff are bored to be there.

Convenient to my location in CDMX The only issue was the bed mattress was quite worn from people sitting on the edge so when sleeping, I felt felt like I would roll off the bed. To compensate I had to sleep on the other side of the bed. The mattresses should be rotated for wear and replaced when worn.

Under Construction and not very Clean
The location is good. I found my room to be not very clean, especially the bathroom. The concierge staff was OK, but they didn't seem to be very active or willing to do much to go out of their way. However, the worst part was that during my entire stay, there was construction taking place in the first floor, which started as early as 6:45 am and lasted until late at night. Every single day, including Saturday, you could hear a super loud drill, hammers, and construction noise. It was impossible to conduct any business calls or focus on work stuff inside the hotel. When I asked to speak with the Manager, she was not available. The location is convenient because is right in Polanco, but I will not come back to this hotel in future trips.

The location was excellent -- Polanco very close to restaurants and only a block from Presidente Masaryk. The property was very clean and everything worked. The price was certainly right, especially for the location. WiFi was excellent. It is simple apartment hotel which has its pluses and minuses (no restaurant and for those who want it, no gym or pool). My room was on an interior courtyard which was a bit noisy and the natural light was weak. I would go back but ask for an exterior room.

There is no airconditionong so if it’s a hot visit take that into account! It’s not fancy, but if you can overlook the dated lobby, you’ll be happy when you get to your room.

I didn't like Casa Castelar it was more an Apart hotel more than a hotel: small reception, noisy and cold rooms, lousy breakfast. I wouldn't stay at it again nor recommend it

This hotel is a very simple establishment with great suites, one block from high-end hotel chains like: Intercontinental, Marriott, Fiesta Americana, but why spend $200-$400 nightly if you can spend apprx. $100-$160 being in Polanco, one of the finest neighborhoods of Mexico City. Fine upscale restaurants, luxurious shopping, and great cafes for people watching! I always stay at this hotel and love it!

It was one block from the Presidente, Marriott and Hyatt in Polanco, but the Internet was horrible, no fresh water free or at a cost to drink or at least wash your mouth with, no air conditioning and the breakfast said to be included was a black coffee without sugar or cream, a large chocolate chip cookie, a small carton of milk and a banana placed at your door each morning. This might be a good hotel for send ones sales staff to not spoil them or pay high rates, but not one I will return to.

We spent three days at Casa Castelar. It is in DF's best district, 200 yds from the Hyatt Regency, but at one third the price. Suites have a BR, Living/Dining area and a kitchennete. Very modern, not luxurious, but well set up and designed. Service is limited to bringing a tray with coffee and rolls at 7AM and a very helpful and friendly front desk (limited English, I am afraid) that strove to help in any way possible. Bed was great, two TV's in each suite, also a SONY music boom box.WIFI not great but workable, it is a B&B so don't ask for Business Center, Bar, Restaurant, etc, but all these are available within walking distance since you are in the equivalent of Manhattan @ Central Park on 5th..for the money an absolute steal and a great deal.
