The hotel is very tired and needs to be refurbished. The public areas are not too bad, but the room was very poor. Mold around the bath. Paint on the curtains. Sink that didn't empty in the bathroom. A socket that didn't work in the bedroom. I stayed in the hotel several times and it used to be good, but I will not be staying again.

Difficult to find the underground parking as it’s just marked Lapps Quay and nothing about the hotel access also.
Like most modern hotels it offers from the bathroom dilemma of two guest and two towels plus two hand towels and yet no heated towel rail so when you come back from a day out and take a second shower of the day the towels are still wet!!
If I can’t dry ten I’ll just
Leave them in the shower to be replaced daily which then defeats everyone’s green objectives. A towel rail would solve it I’m sure.
The back of the hotel by the car park entrance is where quite a few homeless hangout.

Clayton Hotel was centrally located which made it easy to walk to many places around the city. It is located on the same street as the bus station and a five to seven minute drive to the train station. There are several restaurants and pubs within walking distance. The staff was very helpful. Victor provided us with a map and explained where other places that were not on the map could be found. The hotel rooms were spacious and comfortable. If I return to Cork in the future, I would stay at this hotel again.

The room could have been cleaner stains and trodden in chewing gum on carpet when reported no one came to clean we were there a week and had to keep looking at the stains
Two. Main TV channels were not working and after reporting still we’re not working by time we left a week later girl on reception was very unhelpful and not bothered
We also had to ask for two chairs on balcony when brought one had a broken leg
Bar staff and housekeeping staff were the most pleasant and helpfull

We had an issue with our reservation. By the time we got to the hotel, we found out that a change we'd made to our accommodations hadn't been made, and it would have cost us another $1,000 to stay in the room that hadn't been changed. The staff at Clayton Hotel were accommodating and helped us to change to the room we had booked. We were given a nice room, and the cost was what we expected. My only criticism is the room temperature. It was always humid and muggy, but we were given a fan to help with the temperature.

The Hotel is ideally located in the centre and right next to the Bus Station.

My first night wasn’t the best due to the homeless shelter next to the hotel that has been mentioned in numerous reviews. Clear signs of drug taking, noise from check in at 8 pm until the next morning. Especially at 11 am when they queue to get in and around 5 am to screaming and arguing.

However, having spoken to Emma (i think that was her name) at Reception she couldn't have been any more helpful and moved me to a room looking inward for the other two nights and it was so much better.

Cleaning wise, it was okay. Rooms were dusty on light fittings, mould on ceiling in bathroom on 6th floor, bathroom tiles were dirty in places. Areas do look very tired.

It was an okay stay. I wouldn't rush back. But Emma is a gem, she made the stay that much better.

A very pleasant stay with polite and helpful staff. Only comments are that for a hotel at this level (and price bracket) the room consumables were basic. Shower gel but no moisturiser, builders tea with no alternatives. Most would stock mint/earl grey etc and have a night drink, hot chocolate or the like. Important points, bed comfort all good although was hot under heavy duvet!

I stayed at the property for 2 nights. Check in process was excellent. Able to do most of it online and then just pick up keys via kiosk when I arrived. The room was not as expected, partially due to an error on my end during booking, but Victor at the front desk was able to assist me with the room setup and amenties in a timely manner. He was helpful, friendly, and a pleasure to work with. He also provided some suggestions for dinner which we took and thoroughly enjoyed. The room itself had a small issue with the sink draining slow.
We had the buffet breakfast on our second day and the maitre de was pleasant and we felt attended to. Overall experience was good.

This hotel was in walkable distance for my groups stay. We did enjoy our stay, HOWEVER check in was at 1500 but we had some things to do so we dropped off our luggage. We were given the option to pay and check in early and “possibly” have the room ready earlier than 1500. Arrived back to the hotel at at 1630 to check in and head to our rooms. This is when we were told our rooms were actually not ready yet. So an hour and a half after check in and we still cannot go to our rooms.

Our room was incredible, excellent value for money, a minor disappointment to not have bathrobes provided but the room and view made up for that. All staff whether reception, bar, general staff or the leisure team, were friendly, professional and helpful. Breakfast is reasonably good, a range of choices for all tastes, but could be improved by being hot where appropriate. Wonderful location, central yet quiet, and very convenient for buses, with the airport bus just outside. Would definitely stay here again. Excellent.

The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of town and the facilities, including a pool, sauna and steam, are more than adequate. The choice at breakfast was really good and we also had an evening meal in the restaurant which was delicious. The staff were friendly and polite. The only downside was the bed as the mattress was not great and so I didn't get a good night's sleep. The lack of support in the mattress meant we were constantly rolling into the middle of the bed. It's a shame because otherwise I'd heartily recommend the hotel.

Cork review

Staff were very helpful and nice. Room was amazing, best shower! Windows opened.

Breakfast was not included, we ate elsewhere.

The parking and trying to get there and trying to figure it out was a nightmare. It is downtown, by the river, and traffic was horrible. We found a car park on Google maps, just by chance it was the hotels car park, they stamped your ticket and it was $12 a day.

I guess I assumed Cork was a smaller town, not knowing the area.
