PARKING IS NOT FREE . I paid 36.us to park overnight and had a 3 block walk.
Not exactly convenient when your handicapped.
Room was decent but dated.
Lets face it when you book with expedia you dont get the top shelf.

This is the best Clayton Hotel we have stayed in and we have stayed in a few now.

Cleanliness and room cleaning 1/5. This is the only issue with this hotel. Housekeeping is abysmal. Will stay here again though as the rest of the stay was perfect.

Hotel itself & stay beautiful.
We ordered a meal at the bar we booked in for 8.30 the 4 of us my husbands fish and chips came an hour after our main meal was eaten. It was a disgrace. We talked to the manager who gave us a tree drink. We should never have been charged for the meal being an hour late ruined our night unfortunately.

The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of town and the facilities, including a pool, sauna and steam, are more than adequate. The choice at breakfast was really good and we also had an evening meal in the restaurant which was delicious. The staff were friendly and polite. The only downside was the bed as the mattress was not great and so I didn't get a good night's sleep. The lack of support in the mattress meant we were constantly rolling into the middle of the bed. It's a shame because otherwise I'd heartily recommend the hotel.

This was a great location, within walking distance to city centre with all the shopping and pubs. The staff were always very friendly and courteous. A star removed because it seemed like the room had seen better days - some stains in the carpet that haven't been able to be removed. Not a deal breaker, but not pristine.

This hotel is in a wonderful location. And the staff at the front were super helpful and very friendly. However, I had booked and paid for a \"Deluxe Double room\", and ended up with 3 beds, none of which were very comfortable. But the front desk staff actually more than made up for it with just their overall pleasant nature and recommendations for the city.

Horrible place. Only location is helping this property to exist. 250€ for one mid-week night plus 20€ carpark and another 20€ breakfast which is super limited. Room filty and for this price i got disability room what a joke. Never again. In my room i felt like i am starting in homeless shelter which is right beside the hotel.

We checked in, and were told our room was in a different corridor. We were supposed to have a king room, but were given a dirty apartment with no sheets (didn’t notice until it was bedtime), pillows, AC. When we spoke with the staff, they lied to us about everything. I even asked for more pillows, the clerk said they’d be sent up. Never happened. Terrible customer service on their end. If I wanted a dirty air BNB, I would have booked one.

Excellent large room and bathroom, large restaurant and bar (stops serving food at 9 though).... parking next door with an interior link (12 euros a night etc)... property as at the edge of the nightlife and shopping 10-15 minute walk, but clearly an up and coming area - Cork was happening too... A very clean, modern spacious property... We also had the buffet breakfast.. good selection, and finally some fruit!

Staff were very helpful and nice. Room was amazing, best shower! Windows opened.

Breakfast was not included, we ate elsewhere.

The parking and trying to get there and trying to figure it out was a nightmare. It is downtown, by the river, and traffic was horrible. We found a car park on Google maps, just by chance it was the hotels car park, they stamped your ticket and it was $12 a day.

I guess I assumed Cork was a smaller town, not knowing the area.

Great place and we loved the people from Cork!!

Emma in the front desk was incredible. The room was clean and comfortable, the only thing we should mention is our window was facing a street where all the homeless people were and it was quite frightening as they were screaming most of the time and fighting between each over, we could also never open the window because of this same reason but I guess the hotel has no control over that.

Due to our plane, we arrived to the hotel very early(9:30am) They held our luggage as we walked around the area. We weren’t able to get into a room until after 13:00. I observed a front desk employee attempt to give our suitcase to another guest from the luggage being held. It took 3 requests to get batteries or a new remote to use the tv. Our room was over the back road so we could hear people yelling most of the night through the windows. Emma at the front desk was wonderful. The breakfast and the restaurant on property were excellent

Within range of being a solid choice

Location quite good, breakfast was great, staff was great, associated pool & gym is a big plus, no view from our room, just a very nearby office building.

But it was impossible to overlook the big wine stain by our bed, or the other stains on the carpet. We mentioned it on checkout and the answer was the carpet will be replaced. (They should probably start with the room(s) where you can’t get into bed without being reminded of someone’s excessive nightcap.)

Also the bathroom sink barely drained, we didn’t mention it until checkout because we didn’t want workmen in our room during our stay.

Room wasn't ready despite arriving after check-in time. Arrived to bloodstained bedsheets, had to ask at reception for them to be changed. Poor turndown service with items left unfinished including piles of dirty linen left behind and items being washed up in bathroom sink. Response from hotel staff was pretty underwhelming; check-in and out all done on self-serve kiosks which were slow or just didn't work and needed staff help anyway. Overall a pretty lacklasture trip only saved by the excellent food and staff in the restaurant bar.

A very nice me property but service was lacking in some respects. The room was not furnished with enough towels. Only two for theee guests. The house phone is non- functional so a trip to the front desk was required to request an additional towel. The TV would not work due to dead batteries in the remote. In addition the mounting was loose leaving the tv drooping and pointing downward. A request for service was answered but took more than an hour. And the tv mount was “fixed” by propping it up with a folded towel. The service person did not have any tools and could not tighten the screws.

Generally of a high standard but what is awful about this hotel are the very noisy drunks outside and the Mexican restaurant next door. On our last night, Friday 1st to Saturday 2nd August , the music was very, very loud and it did not stop until 3am - (on the dot) . We were unable to get any sleep- and this was in a top-of-the-range, executive room. I would not recommend a stay at this hotel until this situation is sorted out by the hotel management

Disappointing stay due to homeless shelter

Check in was online and easy. Welcome from the manager at reception was nice and friendly. Triple room was spacious and clean and had good amenities. We only made breakfast once out of 3 nights, due to my next comment, and it was really good selection and worth the steep cost.
Unfortunately we were at the side of the hotel from the river which has a homeless facility. Every night there would be a large group shouting and swearing trying to get medication or a bed for the night. Mental health issues banging heads against walls and fighting with each other. This was on and off throughout the early hours and even with the windows fully shut, it woke us numerous times. Garda attended a few times but they didnt move them on. This unfortunately made our stay unbearable with the noise and we didnt get much rest. I would not stay here again or recommend it due to this, especially as the cost of the hotel was expensive per night. Such a shame as this could of been a really nice stay. I informed the hotel who offered a free coffee but not much they could do unfortunately

Very enjoyable one night stay. At check in Emma was very kind and helpful in getting us a room that suited us…. this was a great start. We were very happy with our room.
Breakfast was very good and there was a lovely lady who gave us a table that we liked. The cooked breakfast was good but for a person not having a hot meal, the fruit was disappointing. Also the orange juice was awful and the brown bread was stale

The hotel is located around many homeless and vagrants, security in the door of the hotel as a precaution, went out at 10pm on a Saturday evening and was instantly followed by 2 individuals, informed security on my return who just smiled, staff un attentive, the in house coffee shop do not acknowledge that you require service (on the 2 occasions I tried) many emails to check in online and check out but when tried to proceed with this service it then asks you to check out at the reception

Was there for a gig taking place at the virgin media park. The hotel is right by the bus stop to from the airport which was about a 20 minute ride from, cost of about 1.50e one way. The bus station and other stops was also literally 5 minute walk from the hotel. The venue itself also a 10 minute bus ride. Walkable from Oliver Plunkett street and the main streets for shopping/pubs etc.
I’d contacted the hotel beforehand to see if the pool and other facilities would be accessible before and after checkout as we had early and late flights, and they promptly responded advising they were though we didn’t end up using them. The hotel kept our bags all day before checking in and all day after checking out. Staff were all really friendly and welcoming and helpful. The room was a deluxe double bed and single bed absolutely ideal for 2 friends to share or for couples or a family for an over night or as a base. Would stay again. No problems
