Can't complain really. However the bathroom in the family room 327 needs a major update. I understand that it's accessible and that's fine but the hand dryer is unnecessary and the towel rail meant our towels fell into the toilet so we had to store them pit in the wardrobe. Hotel itself is lovely, staff are fab, nice food. Just a little TLC in the bathrooms would really stand to the place. We will be back!

We stayed 3 nights at end of March. Room was clean and comfortable. Quite warm at night for us but could open a window and it was quiet outside. Breakfast was very good and the staff were really helpful. We also ate in the restaurant every evening. Again it was all freshly cooked and really good. We would happily return.

The cereal, breads, fruit were all lovely and fresh but the hot buffet counter food(sausages, puddings, bacon & Hash browns) were of poor quality, very processed taste from them so unfortunately could not eat after first bite/taste. Would not be recommending breakfast at the prices being charged unless a breakfast option for just cereals/fruit/tea-coffees/juices at a lesser cost was available.

Dear Clayton Hotel Team,

I hope you are well. I am writing to share some brief feedback from our recent stay at Clayton Hotel Silver Springs, which I hope will be helpful for service improvement.

We were not informed at check-in that the swimming pool required advance booking or that it closed at 6:00 pm. When we arrived at we were told it closed at 7:00 pm, resulting in us being unable to use the pool and having to return the following day on a day pass. The facilities were described as a five-minute walk, but it was not mentioned that the route involves a fairly steep uphill walk.

On a positive note, the staff member in the gym explained everything clearly, which we appreciated. However, during our stay we also experienced delays in receiving toilet tissue when requested, bedding not being properly made on day two, and some disappointment with breakfast — while the selection was good, the hot breakfast quality was poor and the juices appeared heavily diluted.

I wanted to share this feedback constructively, as clearer communication and some service improvements would greatly enhance the guest experience. I’ve stayed in other hotels in Cork where service levels we experienced were a step up from this.

Thanks and regards, Kishon

Understaffed hotel - individual staff are friendly but management is very poor

Expensive bar prices relative to Cork city
Poor service as staff are run off their feet and people left the bar because they were fed up waiting for service

Unable to watch rugby on TV at bar because hotel does not have the channels even though half the guests staying there were there for the rugby weekend

Impossibly tight and restrictive parking spaces

Breakfast was hit and miss as you waited for cups, glasses and food to be delivered / served

Unlikely to stay their again

Stay was ok. Carpet was heavily stained in parts. I asked for a room with a view but i got a room at back of hotel with no view. I asked for a mini fridge for medical supplies and got it but it was filthy. We were afraid to put our snacks in it. Curtains are long and block the heat coming from radiator, room was cold. I had to roll up the curtains to let out the heat.

I will never stay here again. No water available form the stay. I got no prior notice, if I did I would have stayed somewhere else. I had a note under my door when I arrived saying the water would be back in the evening. I called the reception at about 7pm, they said it would be back in about an hour. I went for dinner , wearing my jacket as the restaurant was freezing cold. Afterwards, I checked the water, it was brown. I used bottled water to brush my teeth. The next morning I checked again. The water was still brown. I had a cold breakfast (that was supposed to be hot) , in the cold restaurant before leaving. I wasn’t asked how my stay was, they probably knew the answer. No compensation or apologies were offered on departure. 150 euro for a night in hotel that couldn’t offer hot water.

Overprised and dated!

The hotel is in urgent need of a thorough renovation, with an old elevator and fitted carpets in the rooms and corridors that don't smell very pleasant. The location is right on the highway, far from the city center. The bathroom was cramped, with a rusty shower curtain rail, and it was difficult to adjust the hot and cold water in the shower. The daily room rate was €190 without breakfast. Cleaning of the room was inadequate, they did not even clean the toilet bin during our 3 night stay!
Overprised and dated!

When I arrived to the property, the staff was incredibly friendly (especially the employee who checked us in).

My annoyance is this. I called ahead to discuss if the hotel had laundry service, a hot tub and a gym (the laundry service was a must). I confirmed my dates, and was reassured (with confidence) this wouldn't be an issue. When I arrived I was immediately informed that laundry service is not available on the weekends, and the gym/hot tub are not owned by the hotel and will have additional fees.

Great staff, poor evening meal

Staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast was perfect , the woman (possibly manager) at breakfast and the girl checking us in at breakfast were both so nice , kids dinners were fine , I asked for fresh orange juice for kids and got concentrated carton orange juice . prawn dish was absolutely atrocious, the quality of prawns were so poor, I know it’s not economical to have fresh prawns but these were bad, the oil tasted old and reheated and the prawns were worryingly chewy and very dry (I didn’t eat more than two, the best looking ones I could find ) , it was a very expensive meal for what we got , the barata was nice but the garlic bread was so stale and dripping in grease , it almost seemed deep fried. Again couldn’t eat it .Bad bad bad. The menu prices didn’t match the quality of food at all. The kids were so excited for a treat of jelly and icecream (as on menu ) and when we ordered , the nice waiter was embarrassed to be sent back to tell us there was no jelly, not great to have to tell a 2 and 4 year old after the excitement had built ,and we had also been waiting 10 minutes for it before being told. We also saw other guests in robes and slippers (maybe this didn’t come with our deal ?) . Front of house so friendly . We needed milk for younger child in evening and staff at coffee station happy to help. Overall a good stay but would absolutely not eat a meal in the restaurant again.

We stayed one night in a family suite. The room was lovely and spacious with an absolutely ginormous bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and we appreciated the extra seating area. A couple small items - we were there when it was quite hot, and although the room was equipped with an AC unit that blew air, it never actually cooled off. To be fair, I didn't figure this out until the middle of the night, so I didn't report it til checkout. If you're not from Ireland, fair warning that hotels don't seem to provide conditioner. However, overall a nice stay and an easy drive into city center as well as highway access.

The Expedia website shows laundry facilities so I chose the hotel. There was no laundry facility! I had to do my laundry standing in a gas station parking lot (that was the nearest laundry place). No air conditioning so our room was boiling hot and faced the rising sun so it baked all day. The windows hardly opened to let in cool air. We. Had to sleep with curtains and windows open just to have any air. It never cooled the room even with two fans provided. Also, we checked in at 6 and was told there was a tour coming and the restaurant will close to us at 8pm which meant we could not eat on site due to needing to go off site to do laundry. All around a horrible experience.

Slightly off

With small sized beds, windows that barely open and no AC, the stay wasn't as comfortable as it could have been. The safe didn't work and the toilet flush was broken so that it needed to be hit in a specific way to stop the water from flushing non-stop.

Poor quality and expensive.

Expensive and there are better places to stay- self checkin did not work and would not produce a room card - toilet in the pokey small room constantly flushing. Tea, milk, coffee and water not replenished for three nights. Laundry bags left outside in the corridor until four in the afternoon. Restaurant food is average at best - would not choose to stay again. My advice find somewhere else to stay.

Stayed here for one night this weekend with our two children. Hotel was good, clean and easy to access. About 15€ for an Uber into the city. Staff were all polite and friendly, the hotel had a nice relaxed vibe and parking was good on site.

Room was clean and tidy and well equipped. I did order the birthday bash package which to be honest was underwhelming at best. I wouldn’t order that again.

Have to give a massive thank you to Grace on reception who was just brilliant, a great recommendation of a restaurant with our children and so good with our kids. Thank you!

First off check in was at 3. We arrived at 1 and they had a room ready. Went to room and keycards wouldnt work. Back to reception to change them and the second lot didnt work at first either. But eventually got into our room. Room was fine and clean. After arriving back from our night out we ordered room service and paid €35 for the food not to come. Next morning went to reception and the girl was very apologetic and offered us a refund. Went for breakfast after this and it was horrendous. Buffet still so could help yourself. Food was cold and not nice at all. At this stage, we'd had enough and headed back to our room to get our bags and checkout. Safe to say we will not be staying here again.

The room itself was nice, very clean. There was no air con, a regular radiator in the room. There was a large window where the sun streamed in which was lovely but you would need aircon to cool the room down. There was a small desk fan provided with the room but it was broken. The hallway and lift are very old and dated.

Just a short and cheap cab ride to the center of Cork. Public bus is also available a short walk away. Beautiful hotel!

Hot!!!

Good stay. But it was hot in Cork. No air conditioning and the windows can only open 3 inches. Further, no thin sheet on the bed, only a thick duvet. They did have a little fan in the room which is really not a good sign.

Otherwise, everything else was fine.
