We recently spent one week at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Cairo Heliopolis and had a very pleasant overall experience.

The hotel is conveniently located near Cairo International Airport. Although it is somewhat farther from the city center and Giza, this distance allows guests to stay away from the hustle and bustle and heavy traffic of downtown Cairo. Considering current Uber fares (February 2026), it is still worthwhile to stay in this area, even if the trip to downtown takes approximately 30 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic.

The hotel itself maintains a high standard of accommodation. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are consistently polite and friendly. The breakfast offers a wide variety of traditional and international options, including an omelet station, fresh fruit, and a coffee machine.

The only concern may be for guests who are sensitive to noise. Rooms facing the main street can be affected by traffic sounds and may not be ideal for light sleepers. We were fortunate to have our room changed to the quieter side of the building on the second day. I hope the management team will consider addressing this issue in the future, perhaps by enhancing soundproofing in the street-facing rooms.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciate the quality of service provided.

The hotel is very comfortable, clean and the buffet restaurant where we had breakfast and dinner was overall pretty good, especially the fresh fruits and vegetables. It is close to the airport, which was important for us. Not very close to the old city or historical sites but you have to choose. The wifi was also very good.

I have stayed at this property in the past and used to have a very good impression of it. Unfortunately, my recent stay was not up to the expected Radisson Blu standards.

The Positives:

Location: The positioning remains excellent for business travelers, given its proximity to the airport and the fairgrounds/exhibition center.

Amenities: The lobby is pleasant, and the internal services are quite convenient. Having an ATM and souvenir shops on-site is a plus. I would specifically like to mention the barber, who does an excellent job and is very professional.

Gym: Relatively spacious and in acceptable condition. While the equipment is not latest-generation, it is perfectly functional for a good workout.

The Negatives:

Room Comfort & Noise: While the room was clean and the bed was comfortable, the soundproofing was a major issue. The door does not isolate noise from the hallway, and the windows are very thin. I could hear every sound and music from outside until late at night, which made it very difficult to rest.

Bathroom & Furniture: The bathroom is heavily worn out. The shower, bathtub, and fixtures show significant signs of age. The furniture is in poor condition and generally gives an impression of neglect.

Breakfast: The quality was disappointing. The selection is quite limited, but more importantly, the overall quality of the food does not meet the standards of a 4 or 5-star international chain.

Room - dirty. Carpets could do with a shampoo. The table where coffee and tea is kept is just about falling to the ground.
Staff - just about right in terms of being helpful.
Amenities - just ok.
Bathroom - vanity needs a deep clean.
I booked your hotel on the basis of the Radisson Blu Brand but it didn’t live to the expectations. I feel somewhat ripped off in all honesty. The hotel is more like a 3 star hotel at best. The rooms needs a serious upgrade or at least clean it properly. It felt very unhygienic. It would be appropriate to at least refund 50% of my accommodation all things considered.

Hotel is so close to airport that taxis don’t want to go there and hotel informed that they needed 24 hours prior notice to arrange shuttle. Charge was 25 dollars for pick up. For a shuttle that takes five minutes to reach airport. It is really bad for hotel to make it so hard for airport transport. When I took shuttle back to airport it was only 8 dollars and shuttle driver informed that even after landing we can call him and he is available: why did Hote sent me a message saying they need 24 hours notice for a shuttle. Really bad experience.

Only stayed for one night but the room was spacious, very nice pool area on the roof top and we were able to get food in the bar area by the pool in the evening for a very reasonable price. We found ourselves stuck and in need of a very short notice reservation and the hotel were very accommodating. They had a pianist playing in the lounge/lobby which was really nice. I would love to return and stay for longer because from the small amount of time we spent here it seemed a really nice and luxurious place to stay. If you need somewhere close to the airport, this would be a great pick.

Arrived at 8pm with a 3yo and a 5yo all super tired after only 2 hours sleep the night before. Booked the hotel at 5pm on our way from Alexandria to Cairo and for some reason they couldn’t see our reservation. Asked them to give us a room so we can sleep and will figure out the reservation afterwards, told them in worst case will just pay again to them and get money back from Expedia. They refused to do so, we waited until 11pm because they insisted to contact Expedia and we had our flight at 4 am next morning.

The room was noisy because of street traffic. The hot and cold water alternate randomly during showers. Electric goes off and you have to call front desk to find circuit breakers. Toilet flush leaking. Lights flickery. For the price the hotel rooms are just ok. Poor finishings. It’s clean and the staff are super friendly. At the bar there was a hotel staff lady in purple jacket super mean to the bus boy and we heard all the dramas.

The hotel looks nice as you walk in and for the most part it is quite nice can see some aging and bad repairs here and there. That’s really not my issue though. Checking in waiting at queue two men walked past me and reception staff just served them. I let it go not worth the hassle just an observation. But then one day at dinner not any of the many waiters could ask if I wanted a drink? Then there is the tour arrangers in the reception. I was to go to the pyramids and museum. The man who takes me the one that the hotel arranged for me takes me to a shop and claims it’s a museum it a paper shop where they sell the $10 airport price pictures. He was pressuring me to buy a picture I had no interest in whatsoever ever. I don’t even like them not my thing. I offered him money just so I could go without feeling guilty, which he took. He kept on with the high pressure sales tactics. I know I should have walked away and left but I was so caught up in that moment of guilt.
Anyway I don’t think a hotel should be participating in these practices. Particularly one with an international brand. I used the hotel tour operator as I thought I would be better off but they charged me £100 and of course you need to tip everyone and then on top I still needed to pay all the entrance fees on top. They claim there was a washing machine in room. I did not even see one in the whole hotel never mind room and I had been banking on it so took less clothes than I needed for whole stay.

The staff were excellent and food in restaurant and room service were brilliant. The room is on a noisy street and the double glazed windows did not shut out all the noise . But it was tolerable would not deter us from going back to stay there again .
The toilets are in need of a bit of iupgrade e.g there was a contant lingering smell in the tiolet, the tiolet seat is not soft closing the toilet basin itslelf got blocked twice but was dealt with immediately.
So all in all a nicevpkace to stay and bery convenient location

We chose this location because we had an early morning flight to catch. The airport is just a 5–10 minute drive away, and an Uber will typically cost around 150–200 EGP. We recommend avoiding taxis to or from the airport.

The hotel is situated in the middle of a residential neighborhood. The staff were kind enough to accommodate our early check-in, which we appreciated.

The only downside was the loud music at night coming from nearby houses, especially in rooms facing the street.

Check-in was nice. The staff were warm, helpful and made the security process smooth. The entrance smells lovely and feels calm and welcoming on arrival. My room was spacious and very comfortable - possibly an upgrade, as I had a large twin setup with a sofa, great pillows and a very comfy bed. The bathroom was clean with strong hot water pressure. My room faced a busy road and traffic noise continued late in the night (Cairo never sleeps)! More disruptive though, was being placed in an adjoining room. Sound insulation was poor; I could hear conversations and crying from the next room very clearly, which affected my sleep. I’d strongly recommend requesting a non-adjoining, non-road-facing room if you’re sensitive to noise.

Breakfast had a wide range of options, including Egyptian dishes, an omelette station, fruit, cereals, coffee, tea, and juices. I mostly stuck to scrambled eggs, which were good. The gym looked well-equipped, though I didn’t get to use it. Room service was prompt and reasonably priced with a few tasty items. The staff overall were polite and responsive, and reception even phoned during one quiet day to check in, which was a thoughtful touch. The surrounding area felt safe, with a few walkable businesses nearby incl. a café, pharmacy, takeaway places. The hotel has its own restaurants/bar.

Checkout was smooth, the airport shuttle cost $8USD per person. It was on time at 4AM and got me to the airport in 10mins.
