Good hotel if you’re looking for somewhere near to Cork city centre for either Cork visits or a base for wider touring of the area.

5-10 minutes walk from the centre and there was parking on site.

Staff were friendly and helpful.

The breakfast choice was good. We didn’t have other meals there so can’t comment beyond that.

Our room was big, comfortable and clean although the bathroom could maybe do with a refit soon… slightly tired compared to the rest of the room.

The hotel overall was clean and modern. It was quiet in our room despite the hotel having a lot of guests.

Recommended for a short break in Cork.

While the location is good for city centre, the lack of air conditioning in the bedroom was a disaster. The day itself was not even a hot summers day, but the room was so hot, we couldn't sleep. The room had a fan, but it just didn't do much for lowering the temperature

This was probably my favorite hotel of all the ones we stayed during our tour of Ireland. It was once a hospital and has a lot of neat history. It is located in the Shandon area, very near some beautiful Cathedrals. It is a bit of walk to the actual shopping, but would definitely stay here again. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We stayed in a family room, and it was perfect! King bed in the center, twin beds on each side!

This looks like an amazing hotel, but we only had a few hours to sleep there before checking out so we didn't even get to see it all. The place was beautiful, had a HUGH room. We'd booked rooms for 3 and got a queen bed + (3) singles and could have held a dance in between them. Rooms, bathroom. and amenities in room were great.

Staff was fabulous. Very nice, helpful, and efficient.

This is a superbly located hotel with friendly staff. The building and rooms have clearly seen better days and the hotel could do with some refurbishment and freshening up. Parking spaces are limited so we availed of a discounted rate at the nearby multi-storey car park. We didn't have breakfast at te hotel but we did purchase two coffees for €8. The place was reasonably clean and comfortable but somwhat overpriced in my opinion. I don't stay in hotels in Ireland often enough to compare but have stayed in substantially better hotels in other European cities for less.

This hotel was very easy to find, though it’s worth double‑checking the address since there are two locations in Cork!

Once we arrived, we had a great stay. It was incredibly quiet, and we slept amazingly well. The staff were so kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better.

My only concern was the shower; the water never got fully hot, more room‑temperature than warm. If that were improved, the stay would be perfect!

Hotel was ok. Unfortunately a few things let it down. The net curtains had stains on. There was shower wash and combined shampoo/conditioner - that was it! I would have expected a few more things, maybe body moisturiser. Shower caps would have been nice as the shower head wasn't adjustable. The hotel is advertised as having a spa, so would have expected robes in the room, however, to be honest you couldn't really call it a \"spa\". There was a pool and a sauna. There wasn't anywhere to relax once you'd been in the pool or sauna. So we didn't use either facilities. The room wasn't cleaned one day. We left the towels in the bath to be replaced but they were just folded up and left. Nothing else was touched in the bathroom or bedroom that day. When I enquired about it, I was told they were very busy that day and didn't get round to our room. They did however bring clean towels that evening and replacement coffee sachets. Toilet seat needed to be fixed. Incorrect info re buses and directions from reception staff. On a positive note the beds were quite comfortable. Plenty of hot water and good pressure. Breakfast was nice - good selection. I'm not sure I would rate it a 4* hotel.

We stayed a night at the Maldron - had a standard double room booked. We ended up staying in a room marked “executive” on the second floor. The room was clean - if average - equipped with a small television, standard tea / coffee kit, and an electric plug in radiator (no air con). The bathroom while also generic, it was dated, with mould and grime all across the tiles, and the body wash dispenser was absolutely empty. A light fixture was also hanging out the bedroom ceiling. For the quality of room in comparison to price of nearby premier inns, for instance - definitely overpaid. Conveniently short walk to city center. Staff on the desk seemed friendly and helpful.

Our guest information did mention that there was a safe, though I couldn’t find this.

The restaurant didn’t appear to be open in the evenings, but we tried the breakfast on the final day. Really good selection for those without any dietary requirements, but not so many vegan options. The staff did very kindly make a separate dish of mushrooms with oil for my partner though, so thank you!

Check in is via kiosk but there’s a person right there to help if you need. Parking is a bit competitive so recommend arriving earlier rather than later. The room was small, very sparsely furnished (no decorative items), and bathroom was fine but had all these marks and holes on walls from where renovators had taken measurements and drilled wrong holes. No washcloths. Towels clean but bare-bones. Shampoo and soap but no conditioner or lotion. It was quiet enough. Had to leave window open for cooler air. Bfast was outstanding though.

Compared to other four star hotel we stayed in Ireland , this is not four-star. We booked three rooms, one of it was not cleaned ( bins were not emptied, towels not changed) after the first night. Bins were also not emptied for another room but towels were changed. There is very limited parking so we were given a voucher everyday for overnight parking in a car park that is five minutes away. The voucher only covered one third of the cost. The car park is very compact, we had to be very careful going in and out.

Room smelled of smoke, no temp control so hot, room was over restaurant with super loud music that you could hear so well you can sing to the words (Still loud with ear plugs) kids screaming in the hallways and slamming doors, rooms are older than the front foyer so misleading, the foyer smelled super strong of a nice cologne so not so good for my Mom’s allergies. The bed was comfy and the room space was good. Ask for a room away from the restaurant on the weekend or whenever they have live music past 11pm.

Good location, rating is too high for experience

The location is great within Cork; there is a lot to see & do within walking distance. This is important because parking is very limited on site so if you need to leave to drive you will likely have to park offsite. There is no temperature control in the room and we were on the 4th floor so it was VERY hot in the room (even though it was only around 65 degrees outside). The rooms were small and beds were clean but bathroom didn't feel as clean. The space to hang out in the lobby & lobby bar was nice & service was good. Overall I would probably choose a different hotel to stay at next time in Cork
