BEAUTIFUL setting and property, but do not book this hotel if you are hoping to walk anywhere for food or shopping.

They couldn’t find my booking at check in but the girl was lovely and said we could go to the room and she would sort it all out.
Alan
Very clean and comfortable room in a lovely location
Alex
We have a lovely stay at the hotel..check in was quick. The room was clean, modern and comfortable and catered well for international travellers. As my partner was vegan he was offered the vegan breakfast which was very good. Would love to stay again

Beautiful hotel

This property was beautiful, nestled in the woods. We wish we would have had more time to explore. Service was impeccable.
Cynthia
The room was beautiful, clean and quite.
Terry
The building is old, and our room was oddly shaped, had a dysfunctional shower, and no place to set things. The bed was fine, but it had the European-style duvet and poor temperature control in the room, so sleeping was difficult because you became too hot. We would not stay there again or recommend it to others.
Mary
Historic style hotel that’s not a cooky cutter style. Unique throwback.
Mike
The staff was wonderful. I cannot remember the name of the one woman working the front desk but she was so welcoming to our 2 year old (Finn) and each morning of our stay he was excited to go down and talk to her. Made the stay that much better!
Thanks

Amazing for young family
We were really delighted with our experience here. We were travelling with our baby, and I had emailed ahead to request an early check in if possible so our baby could nap in the room. Not only was this facilitated, our room was upgraded which gave us much more space for a family. This was really appreciated. All of the staff were really friendly, especially the restaurant staff as we had our little girl with us for our meals - she is a very fussy eater and they were brilliant at adapting food for her. Thank you so much for a great experience, we will definitely be back.
Samantha
Very gorgeous property, great service from the front desk, room and bathroom were clean and updated. Only bad thing was how warm the room got at night without A/C, a small fan, and a window that did not open too much making it hard to sleep. Other than that, had a great experience!

Lovely place to stay about a 15-minute drive from Cork. Staff were friendly and helpful.
larry
Very nice place - would stay there again!
Denis
Very nice room and comfortable bed. Only one place to eat on property. Did not do buffet breakfast since in the same place we ate dinner which felt closed and no windows. With so many beautiful areas in hotel and terrace should do breakfast in a nicer place with views.
Deborah
Beautiful and elegant

Beautiful stay!
John
Fantastic hotel with beautiful rooms
Beautiful hotel and great location. Rooms are incredibly well maintained and decorated. Only thing letting the stay down was eating in the bar area on a coffee table (bending down to eat wasn't comfortable). Restaurant was closed during my stay.
Tony
Nice stay , will consider for future business trips

My wife and myself had a very enjoyable 3 night stay here at the beginning of September. We had stayed here before. The hotel is very clean and well maintained and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The only negative is that we found the price of the stay expensive.
Ashleigh
Beautiful stay!
A beautiful hotel great for all, we had our toddler who was well catered for as well as us. The room and en suite was well furnished, decorated and clean.
The grounds are well looked after.
The breakfast offerings were great and covered all different tastes and preferences.

Pros: Gorgeous property, stunning views.
Cons: Parking was a challenge with the number of guests. Not the properties fault but I had a guy banging on the door to the room across from me at 2:30am waking everyone up, after about two minutes of him banging and yelling I opened my door to ask him to go to the front desk to get a key if he needed in, he told me F'off and then wanted to fight me. A horrible experience, and I wouldn't go back.

A real Corker
Beautiful setting. “ in the woods” 10 minute cab from downtown cork. Great value for the money. Extremely clean with well appointed rooms and helpful, professional staff. Highly recommend this hotel in Cork.
Francis
Very interesting property. Off the beaten path. Comfortable stay. Did not prefer this property but no issues.
lynn
Very old building. When we checked in there was a mistake on the reservation stating we reserved two rooms. My confirmation from the third party indicated just one room was reserved. The hotel staff could not cancel the extra room stealing I had to go through the third party. After all that, We were given a room which someone else already was in then went back had to get another room. The towel were tattered on the edges. Smoke alarm went off and bathroom lighting was terrible. Overall quiet disappointing.
Thomas
The hotel, pub and restaurant were over the moon. What a fun and happy staff!
David
Quality rooms and great food as one would expect for the price. But why oh why only one card key per room ? And told so in no uncertain terms. Why you would annoy guests over such a trivial thing is beyond us. We were not alone as it was the talk amongst guests.
Amy de
A bit out of the way. But a lovely place nonethless.

disappointed overpriced

Amanda
Very comfortable, peaceful and lovely stay for work. The surroundings are beautifully decorated with lights.

Nice stay. Above average overall
Julie-Anne
Room was lovely and well equipped. The water in the washroom did not work upon arrival. They were quick to address the issue. We were told it was caused by renovations. Farther from downtown than anticipated. Uber is quicker to use (estimated 1 hour if you use hotel direct line to cab service). Charge processed to credit card without permission and could not change to different card (collecting points). Room service provided cold soup and burned sandwich (they did not charge). Wedding party singing is parking lot woke us up (not really soundproof as advertised). Slow internet. Breakfast was excellent.
Hannah Catherine
Beautiful property with a nice woodland location. Great facilities and rooms. The bistro was great, good menu and fantastic meals. Only down point was that the lift was out of order so my elderly parents had to hike up three floors.
Peter
Nice hotel. Nice people.
Steph
Beautiful location and property. We had a car so were able to get back and forth to downtown Cork pretty easily. We ate in the restaurant for supper which was delicious and the staff were great. We were celebrating our honeymoon and there were balloons and a cookie waiting for us in our room when we arrived which we absolutely loved. Would definitely recommend to anyone travelling to Cork.
Shellie
Quick stay
It was a quaint property. Service and employees were very helpful and kind. I would recommend.
Kathie
We stayed one night at Vienna Woods on our way to Cobh. Room was spacious and clean with an updated bathroom. We had an excellent dinner and breakfast in their dining room. (Although I had booked dinner through their online system and despite a confirmation, it didn’t book onto their schedule for the evening. They worked us in for dinner - but I’d double check they have your reservation!). Comfortable bed and pillows, plenty of parking. Very pretty property.
Sarah
Beautiful hotel and great restaurant.
Michelle
Nice and clean rooms, as well as a nice bar/sitting area. We had 3 people in our room and only two sets of towels and was difficult to get another set. We were told that we had a room with a nice view but it was actually facing the garbage/work area in back that was very loud in the morning with dumping and sorting glass bottles. Also this was the only place during our vacation that there was not coffee in the room or lobby (if you did not pay extra to have breakfast included). Beds were comfortable.
Andrea
This was a very nice hotel but I have to say I was perplexed by the bathroom door with a window in it. They put a loose-fitting shade on the door which did not provide privacy. Why would anyone put a bathroom door in that has a window? The room was large. The bed was comfortable. But, the bathroom had no vanity! We had to bring our toiletries into the bathroom in the morning and couldn't unpack them. The sink is small with no place to even leave a toothbrush. I prefer a vanity in my bathroom. What can I say?
Jaime
Great location for a trip into Cork. Staff friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Only stayed one night but would be happy to return
Cherie
Beautiful building and gardens. Spacious room. Well decorated and extras.

Beautiful hotel overall, however the electrical outlets were minimum and across the room a distance

Recent stay
We unfortunately had a very unpleasant stay. When we arrived, the lift was out of service, which can happen, but no one offered to help us with our bags up the several flights of stairs. The fire alarm went off the following morning at 6am and we heard nothing from hotel staff for close to 15 minutes, at which point most guests assembled in the lobby and only after that did a single employee come by to say it was a false alarm. When we checked out (lift still out of service, no offer of help with bags) no one apologized or asked about our stay.
Suzanne
Nice Hotel
This is a very nice hotel, however, we did have some issues. The room was very small. There were no shelves in the shower to put toiletries. You had to put them on floor of the shower. There were also no towel bars to hang your towels to dry.
Kevin
It was great
Alice
Had a lovely stay! Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Food at the restaurant was delicious
Mary
Beautiful large new room. All the staff from check in to server staff to cleaning staff are very happy and friendly and helpful.

Spent a lot of money to book a room in this hotel. What they forgot to let me know that it would be hosting a party till 1.30 early in the morning. Complain to the management, who just shrugged their shoulders. Not bothered at all.Music was so loud that you could not sleep. I will never book this hotel again.
John
At reception I was upgraded to a larger room which was nice, though the room was quite austere. What I was not made aware of was that a wedding disco was taking place in the evening and my room was adjacent to the function room. The party continued until after 1pm making it impossible for me to sleep.
I had been contacted prior to my arrival and asked if there was anything I required - a nice touch. I asked for decaffeinated tea and soya milk to be available in my room. I was told this was possible, but it did not happen. More annoyingly there was no kettle in my room. I did not realise this until 11.30pm. Despite ringing reception on two occasions and being told a kettle would be sent up, this did not happen. I rang reception again at 6am the next morning and a kettle was finally delivered.
I raised my complaint about the noisy room and poor service with a junior manager. I was not charged for breakfast by way of compensation. I asked that the matter be raised with the senior manager/owner and that he/she write to me to explain why I was upgraded to a room that staff must have known would be noisy due the wedding taking place. I suggested the room is not let when a noisy event is taking place except to those who are attending the event. Over 4 days later I have received no response.
The hotel is under renovation hence the low scores for Condition and Area Around the Hotel. The fact building work is taking place is communicated during the booking process.

The hotel and room itself were beautiful. I stayed in the new wing and loved it. My only complaint would be that I could easily hear people talking and walking around in the hallway all night.
Brigid
No hot water in shower…and shower not working…went to reception and fixed late that evening but gone again next morning

Disabled/shower room
Amazing stay. Fabulous and friendly staff. Only one tiny issue the shower head is too heavy in the wet room so it kept sliding down the bar. Just a little dangerous if someone else was sitting having a shower

Nice clean hotel great service. Great food
Brittany
Loved our stay. Great customer service and a beautiful room. Dinner was AMAZING, very happy with our food. Honestly the only thing was that our room was really hot, but they did have a fan. Other than that no issues!
Timothy
While there was a bit of a late night wedding party our first night, the staff were wonderful, the rooms very well appointed, and the dinners truly 5 star. Best hotel we stayed in in Ireland
Richard
Lovely Hotel, but some building being done outside so noise started early enough in the morning
Jerald
This is a great property to stay in when you’re in the Cork area. It’s secluded, yet close to Cork. Beautiful property with very modern rooms and an excellent and friendly staff. No issues at all with the stay here. Highly recommended.

Friendly, comfortable hotel
New rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Only -ve comment is Executive room - no real work desk - more a slim dressing table. Lots of nick knacks so designer got carried away and lost the plot? Staff are super friendly, cheerful and helpful.
David
Our family stayed for a few days and were very impressed with the hotel. What is extra special about this place is the kindness and professionalism of the staff -- everyone we interacted with was so friendly and helpful...it made our stay so pleasant. Would definitely stay here again.
Terry
Nice place to stay close to Cork city. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The quality of the cocktails from the bar were a bit disappointing. The rooms were large but there was not enough space in the bathroom to lay out toiletries and not enough table space in the rooms.

A lovely hotel!
A lovely & quiet hotel. We had dinner there & for both nights, the food & service was great! The staff at reception & the restaurant were fabulous. Loved the environment & the decor.

My Mother, Aunt and I stayed here March 18th, 2023 and were VERY pleased with our room, very clean... Beautiful property.
Staff was very helpful and friendly, a bit far from downtown Cork.... outside the hotel, nothing around to walk to for shopping/eating.

Room was beautiful I cannot complain.
Breakfast €16 each was a disgrace for what you got plus €5 for an extra breakfast item??
Also very musty smell in the dining room where the breakfast was being served. Asked for salt and pepper. Was nothing in them empty. Asked again got salt and pepper holders with salt in both holders (Salt in the pepper holder) asked AGAIN for pepper got the same. Very disappointing and fraustrating.

Was an average stay
Arrived early and was obliged with early check in. However got to room and it was very cold, we couldn’t close the window in the bathroom shut. After arriving back about 7pm we still had no heat in the room so rang reception and it was rectified the heat fuse was broken so we ended up in bed for an hour waiting to warm up. A nice man from reception came up and closed our window. The best morning we realised the hair dryer wasn’t working also , no water in the room for guests. Overall the beds were comfortable but might not stay again.

Room and hotel is furnished to a very high standard.
Just a few niggles/service issues stopped this from being an excellent stay.
TV in room was not working very well - most channels impossible to watch - response from reception when I reported this, was that it has been a problem since the building works started a few months ago.
Web-site said there is a Nespresso machine in the room but this was missing (a Lavazza machine was put in the room when I complained).
Service in the Bistro was a bit hit and miss - I asked for a menu to take a look at whilst we went to the bar for a drink - I was told she was too busy and can I come back in 15 mins.
No table service in the glass room/bar.

Out of the way from Cork but such a lovely property!

The first bad experience is getting into the driveway from the main road. Not convenient and dangerous. Numerous cigarette butts in parking lot. Carpet in rooms had not been vacuumed close to base board for quite some time.
Martha
Lovely place, clean and modern.

While the staff were fantastic and the room was really lovely, it was super disappointing to have a wedding party celebrating deep into the night. While we have no issue with that, it would’ve been good to have had it communicated to us that it would’ve been a factor. This resulted in us not getting much sleep as the music went until 3am. The quality of the wifi was also a shame.
Norma
Amazing staff. They were very accommodating and helpful

The hotel is beautiful, staff efficient and friendly. The only thing negative for me was, tub was slippery and delivery trucks arrived at 4 am and 7:30 am. Other than that, awesome hotel.
Geoffrey
Nice place…lacking some amenities, and the breakfast left a lot to be desired.
