It's a lovely old country house in the city. It is now on a busy highway, but once you find the entrance, its grounds and gardens are delightful, and we heard no traffic noise once in the building. It's a little hard to find - its name sign isn't too clear, but I pulled into a nearby service station and phoned from there to get directions. We were disappointed that there was no evening meal, but a large hotel is in walking distance. Our rooms were lovely, and breakfast was the best that we had on this trip.

We stayed 3 nights at the Belvedere Lodge. We were a bit put off initially by the busy road right in front, but the Lodge is set back enough that it's not a real issue. Sandra greeted us at the door, and helped us up to the upper floor with our luggage, which wasn't light. The room was spacious, with a nice view of the back garden, which was full of blooming roses. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom very nice as well. The icing on the cake was breakfast. There was always a buffet with cold cuts, cheese, breads, cereal, juices, etc., and tea or coffee. In addition, you could order hot items from the kitchen. On the first morning, we opted for the full Irish breakfast, and it was delicious and highly recommended, at least once. On our 2nd morning, we went a little lighter, and it was still lovely. I think the only drawback is the distance from downtown Cork, but there are multiple buses that stop right in front of the Lodge, or if you have a car, there are parking garages in the city proper. Despite that, I highly recommend this place, and would definitely stay there again.

We had a great experience, but guests need to be warned that the property is three stories and there is no elevator so if you are bringing heavy luggage up to the third floor plan for it. If you have mobility issues request a lower floor.

I'm surprised that the rating for the hotel is so high. I would say it's an average hotel without a bar or restaurant. The listing states there is a restaurant, however there isn't. The room is just for breakfast. The breakfast was very good value for money although I'd prefer proper sausages rather then the small chipolatas that were served.

The Belvedere Lodge was such a beautiful property nestled into the busyness of Cork. It was a little difficult to find with our maps app, but once we got there everything else was easy. Our room was so much more spacious than we expected, and the bathrooms had been updated. The breakfast was really tasty with lots of options. We were only there one night, so didn't get to truly enjoy the garden in back, but we walked through and it was beautiful.

It was a comfortable room and bed was good, but it was very loud and noisy. The doors are very heavy and slam shut. This unfortunately woke us all night. The locks on the door are secure. The lodge is in need of an update. Our bathroom was missing tiles and the counter tile was sunken in a section. The breakfast was good and the staff were all very nice and helpful.

Construction right outside our bedroom door was very loud all afternoon. We were not told about the construction prior to our stay and she took payment before showing us our room. The room was shabby with a broken chair, tap and lamp and worn side table and woodwork. Very disappointing. The only good thing was the breakfast.

The staff were very friendly and quick to greet me upon arrival. I was check in quickly and shown to my room promptly with the kind attendant guiding me to my room in order to check which key worked for my door. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful and quickly cooked, and then brought right to me. I greatly appreciate the staff and how accommodating they were. The Belvedere is a lovely place to stay. Exceptional for the price and I’m not sure you’ll find anywhere as nice for what you pay. The room was spotless, spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. The €10 breakfast was excellent. There are buses into the city centre from right outside the door. There is also a drive-in place to eat with Papa Johns, SuperMacs and Bewleys 50 yards down the road. Next to this is a petrol station where you can pick up necessities and this also has an off licence. I’d thoroughly recommend staying here.

I stayed, at the above guesthouse in Cork, in recent weeks. On entering the room, the bed had a duvet on it. (Nothing special). I would have expected the sheets etc, to be nicely tucked in and presented. The chair in the room, also had a biro mark on it.
I was very disappointed to see an obvious stain, on the bathroom ceiling next to the fan. For what, I paid, (breakfast not included), I was very disappointed and will, not return.
