Clean room but fairly small. Towels had a slight odor (likely detergent). No on-site parking—nearest is 1.5 blocks away for $35/night. Breakfast costs $23 and isn’t included.

I’m giving Hotel Belmont 5 stars because the hotel itself was lovely and the check in staff was very attentive. The room was clean, comfortable and thoughtful. That all said, here are a few tips that will insure a 5 star stay.
Tip #1: don’t arrive on a Saturday night at midnight, like I did with my 14 year old son. And if you do, (Tip #2) make sure to tell your Uber to drop you off right in front of the hotel door on Nelson street. Not around the corner on Granville. Otherwise you’ll be dodging the drunk, sketchy night life.
Tip #3: Close your bathroom door tightly. The bathroom windows are not soundproof, but the bedroom windows and bathroom door are (or mostly).
Tip #4 - Always take a street parallel to Granville whenever walking home. We liked Richards (through Yaletown) or Hornby when on the North side. Granville is a sketchy walk any time of day.
Tip #5: When you leave the hotel always take a right toward Yaletown. Nero Belgian Waffle, “Never a bad day” diner, Nesters Market all are amazing. Or Burger Crush (on Nelson past Granville)
Overall the location was quite ideal if you walk the right way. Yaletown felt very safe. The Pacific Center mall (underground), Robson, the Hornby St Aquabus Ferry – all w/in a short walk.
I liked the boutique, funky hotel vibe. You are paying for the central location. I wish they had free water rather than charging extra for the little cartons in the room, but Nestors on the corner was the perfect alternative.

Travelling for work in April 2026 and had a great experience. Convenient location in Vancouver that is walkable to many sights and amenities. Attentive staff and well appoints rooms with double windows that blocked city noise VERY well. Would recommend as a place to stay in Vancouver.

Breakfast was stale and tasted old as well as the rooms were significantly smaller than posted online. Also they came up with deposits and random fees that should not have been applied but were denied entry if they were not paid. These additional fees were not advertised in the original listing of the property.

Had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Belmont, really a perfect location for exploring the city! The room was clean and was fresh looking, I especially appreciated the bathroom and shower area. During my stay there was a fire alarm test, and it is reassuring to know that the hotel takes its responsibilities seriously. I didn’t try the breakfast buffet at the neighbouring Shamrock as there was a lot of breakfast options nearby. After check out I was able to store my luggage at the hotel before leaving for the airport. Also worth noting very friendly and helpful staff. All in all highly recommended for all travelers visiting Vancouver!

The room was very small, but clean and appointed with good quality shower products and a nespresso machine.Though the building was old, it has been nicely redecorated. The staff were helpful. The bed was comfortable.

There was no airport shuttle as originally thought. The hotel entrance had a set of stairs (no elevator) which was hard to navigate with luggage. There was a strong air freshener smell in the lobby and an unpleasant smell in the room (likely due to being a very old building). The music and noise from the bar attached to the hotel was very loud until 2am.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The staff is very friendly and kind. The location is on walking distance of the waterfront, Robson street, Stanley Park and the ferries to Granville Island.
The room was clean and the furniture is of very good quality. I especially loved the shower.
Breakfast was at the Irish pub Shamrock and it was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and will visit again when I'm in the city.

Hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to everything. The neighborhood has changed quite a bit ver the years and there were plenty of homeless in the neighborhood, not ideal if you are traveling with kids.

The hotel itself is great, rooms on the smaller side with only 1 elevator. The front desk is always pleasant, but housekeeping is a disaster. Dirty gloves and sponge left in the room for two night’s consecutively, and the lady counts every single towel and coffee she gives to us daily (mind you we are in a room that accommodates 6 people).

Breakfast selection is great but the food is consistently cold. Would be nice to have some fresh fruits for grab and go!

It was a pleasant stay for a business trip. I needed a quiet and convenient room to rest and this hotel and staff provided what I needed with a reasonable price. I'm not sure if that's a good choice for a vacation especially with kids, but for a few days business trip I recommend this hotel.
Just double check the parking situation if you have a car!

Just to highlight the beautiful bar and breakfast area don’t exist any more you get breakfast in the adjoining Irish bar (not. Massive issue but the lead photos are of the bar and eating area which don’t exist any more ?

The pink is gone and the picture of the restaurant is no longer accurate.

The breakfast buffet was not really a hit. We arrived at 9:30, which is an hour before breakfast ends. There are staff watching people and demanding tickets, as opposed to greeting people and asking for their tickets.

However the food trays were mostly empty and what food was there was cold. Many items that were advertised such as yogurt were simply not there.

Outside of the breakfast, I felt uncomfortable with the preauthorization process. Texting and asking to verify ID seems rather invasive.

I stayed at the Belmont for 4 nights. I would not recommend unless there isn’t anything else around. I quite like boutique/ quirky hotels. I had booked the premium corner king.
I just don’t understand why it’s an mgallery as it really doesn’t align with that brand’s positioning. It’s supposed to be a luxury boutique hotel.
It’s not luxury by any means.
Low staff model, hvac rattles really loudly. Looks great in pictures but the quality of materials used, the cleanliness and the condition is definitely below average. I often stay in Fairmont or Germain hotels and have stayed in mgallery around the world. I really think it should be rebranded so that expectations can better align. I mentioned fairmont because it was around the same price point as hotel Vancouver. If it had to be redone, I would not hesitate and would stay at the Fairmont.
I can confirm that the walks are paper thin. The breakfast is an absolute joke. It might be brand standard but if you’re going to do it, do it well.
Bed was comfy though duvet sub par.
Shower is big but they used moen fixtures which may be fine for home but not commercial grade by any means so it’s flimsy and stained and a cover kept falling off.
The staff wrote once, to see if they could help with anything to make my stay more enjoyable. I offered them an answer if bananas (to have one thing other than a yogurt cup someone coeliac could eat) and gluten free bread. They thanked me for my suggestion. But didn’t enable. Overall Disappointed.

Very nice downtown location. Hectic area (a lot going on nothing bad) but once inside it is nice and quiet. Staff is very attentive and always willing to help. I never felt the non-genuine greetings you get at most places. Only issue we had was the bathroom sinks. They are positioned too short so water gets everywhere as soon as you wash your hands. It wasn’t only us because we overheard another couple talking at the restaurant next door and they mentioned the same thing.

Staff were outstanding and the rooms were spotless. The location felt safe at all times of day and night despite being near some of the rougher areas in downtown Vancouver.

The elevator could be slow during busy times but otherwise I have no complaints of the hotel itself.

The breakfast was served in the attached bar and was exactly as described. However, I'm happy I wasn't paying full price for it. The server who oversaw the breakfast each day was great but the hot breakfast food was not as warm as I'd have liked, especially later in the breakfast window.

The hotel is in a v rough area. Lots of homeless, strip bars and not v nice bars around. We used the parking that the hotel suggested as it was a lot more secure than the one directly next to the hotel.
Vikram was a v pleasant gentleman who checked us in and was helpful throughout our stay. The welcome drink is a nice touch.
The room was clean and the bed v comfy which is unusual in a hotel!
It is unfortunate that the hotel is situated in a bad area as it definitely puts you off staying there again.

A little disappointed that I only got one breakfast voucher, we were 2 to our room, I was booked for two when I went for breakfast the waitress told me my voucher was only good for one, I went to the front desk to inquire the desk attendant told me the booking was only under my name however I was booked for 2 guests in my room, he told me it would be $23 for a breakfast voucher. My girlfriend same stay as ours, she booked under her name with guest in her room and got 2 vouchers ??? In all honesty it is a buffet breakfast I feel like your desk attendant should have honoured me a breakfast voucher. I clearly had a reservation at your hotel for 2 people.

An excellent place to stay in a central location in Vancouver. The staff went above and beyond. The breakfast was nice and the setting in an Irish pub was a lot of fun. The room was clean and had a nice bathroom. Despite the central location, the room is sound insulated very well. Overall I would highly recommend.

came for spring break with 3 other girls- got a 2 queen room (so so small but we made do). Everything was very clean and well maintained. Staff helped with bags upon both arrival and departure, contacted me multiple times to ask if there was anything they could do for us, free drinks and souvenirs for the whole party upon arrival. Overall amazing trip and Takaaki who checked us in was so kind and accommodating with our late check in!

I was very disappointed with the hotel due the no updated information. One of the reason to choose this location was free parking. When I get there that no ano free parking due a chance on the parking. Ended up paying extra $84 for parking in 2 nights.

A pleasant surprise in a renovated older building. We were there for a weekend event and didn’t get much chance to explore and experience all they had to offer, but we are already planning our return. The room was larger than we come to expect in a downtown hotel at this price point and it was comfy and clean with a funky modern vibe.

Staff were very friendly, welcoming, informative courteous and helpful. We had an issue with our room, which was quickly resolved by moving us to an upgraded room. The restaurant and bar were being renovated so there were no in-house facilities. In their place, a breakfast voucher was given for an excellent cafe just over the road. We ate there very happily each morning. Overall, we were happy and would stay again.

Nice walkable area. I walked around most of my stay and was able to go to a lot of places in the downtown area. A little disappointed the bar/restaurant attached was under construction when I arrived. It wasn’t mentioned in the posting, and the photo of that bar is still being used for promo even though it’s not there.

Very well updated contemporary modern design that was very clean & cozy. Comfortable beds, plenty pillows and towels. 3 minute walk to Starbucks, actoss the street from a brunch restaurant. Currently under remodel construction so the ramp into the building was unavailable but they helped carry luggage and pram up and down the stairs. Very kind & accomodating staff. Only negative that cant be fixed is the walls are paper thin; i clearly heard every word of neighbor's conversations as if i was in the same room but luckily they were sleeping at reasonable times
