Spent a night, hot tub and pool’s okay. Not a lot of chairs to put your things tho. You have to ask for slippers and dental kit cos they don’t have it in the room, hence, we went to the pool on our feet.

What’s great is, Mihir is such a nice lad, approachable and professional, check in was seamless, and he even upgraded the room that I’ve booked.

Location is great as well!

This was our first hotel stay in Vancouver. While the hotel was great, we did spend the extra money to get a hotel that was kid friendly and with a pool for the kids since we drove 7 hours in the car to get there. But sadly the pool was 4ft-6ft deep. It was not kid friendly. Having 1 baby and 2 toddlers, we unfortunately weren't able to make the pool work for us since it was too deep for my young kids.

The location was great! Staff was super friendly when we asked if they had a playpen/cot for our infant and they did and had it brought up within 15 mins! We had a view of a parking lot mostly but the view was still nice to see the sunrise even from the north tower we were in.
Parking wasn't hard to get to. Costco was a 5 min walk away. We went to Monster jam and it was a 10 minute drive from the hotel which is why we chose it.

I kind of wish I had a detailed bill or any type of bill from the property though. I had a withdrawl from my account when I checked in to pay for the suit but the amount wasn't close to what I was quoted when I registered for it on Expedia, I might end up calling to ask about that. Again, I wish I had some type of bill to explain, I find it odd I didn't. But I've never stayed in a hotel before so maybe I needed to ask for one and that's on me ?

Overall the location was close to everything that I'd consider staying there again, even if we aren't able to use the pool.

The beds were comfy and the front staff was super friendly and nice. Unfortunately, the pool is not accessible for wheelchair, which my son uses. It’s a staircase down to it and no alternative route. He was very disappointed. Front desk tried to help problem solve. They did upgrade us to a suite to accommodate more space for his wheelchair in the room which was appreciated.

Generally speaking, we enjoyed our stay at the Sandman. We had a great northern view of the city and mountains, loved the cozy bathrobes provided, took advantage of the reasonably priced Shark Club restaurant attached, and appreciated the close proximity to many walkable sites. The pool and hot tub were also clean and enjoyable.
While we were able to store our luggage early, we returned twice to check-in a bit early, only to find that we couldn’t and did not receive the ‘special corner room’ that one desk clerk promised, who appreciated that we were staying for seven nights.
Upon entering our room, we were satisfied with the cleanliness but did discover some housecleaning issues that had not been addressed. This was reported to the front desk. And one day when we requested that our room be refreshed - and we were away for 5 hours - we returned to find that our room had not been cleaned. New coffee packets were grabbed from the cart in the hallway.
A suggestion would be to move the noisy vending and ice machines into a separate alcove, away from the rooms so as to provide more peace and quiet.
Overall, a nice stay.

We arrived early and they happily stored our bags, so we could explore. In a great location, Check in was quick. Got to the room and it was adequate except the bathroom was incredibly small. The bed was very comfortable and was nice that they had plush big robes to go down to the pool in. The elevators were very slow and only one goes to the pool level. Overall had a nice stay

Staff were super great, good nearby was good. However, room wasn't as cleas as we'd like. Bed was good, bit bathroom had red smear (blood maybe) on the wall, black in the grout of the shower l, and shower was squeaking indicating poor adhesive.
Pool was also a let down. Cold pool (not heated) and hot tub was extremely chlorined.
It wasn't clear at booking that parking was additional costs, but it does make sense given the area. Parkade does need work though! Ripping concrete damaging tires, dump area in front of your car where they dump old mattresses.
We'll be trying somewhere else on our next trip.

My daughter and I had a heck of a time checking in as my credit card is a virtual card- there is no chip to tap and they cannot enter manually- they charged $300 to my debit- leaving my bank account very short for our planned evening-

The app for parking wasn’t connecting

When we exited the elevator there were garbage bags infront of the doors- having to move them to exit

The neighbors on either side of us exited their rooms leaving doors to slam behind them at all hours of the night

There was a coffee pod left in the machine, and the fridge was dirty

When leaving to check out- again garbage infront of the elevator needing to be moved before passing through, as well as a maids cart- made it very difficult to maneuver myself, a toddler and luggage through a hallway

Great location, especially if going to a game but the pool/ hot tub were terribly dirty the entire time we were there. The water smelled awful, had debris in it and the floors were always littered with stuff. They say it’s closed for an hour every day for cleaning but it was clear no cleaning took place. Furthermore both times we visited the pool area there were no towels- we called the front desk multiple times and were told “they would get to it when they could”… both times we left without towels (OVER 30 minutes after reaching out) . Housekeeping didn’t come once during our stay and after asking if we could just have a replenishment of coffee and 2 towels they never arrived. We have stayed here in the past but this time our experience was horrible! Very disappointed

Just a few issues: Rooms- okay. Tv..no guide or info to let you know what was on or channel. Restaurant-Sharks - food was not good, but took off my meal as it was full of fat (was a roast beef dip-mostly fat & side of fries cold) Took forever to get food & bill. Did not come around to see how things were & we were a table of 8. Spent a lot there.
Housekeeping..very poor. No hand towels left for in pillows were thrown on couch & pillow cases tossed on bed. Empty box of Kleenex for both days. Kleenex on floor beside my bed & was still there after they cleaned. No bags left for ice. AC was not working g at first but maintenance man got if working. Was disappointing when paid that amount. (2 night & 2 rooms)
Staff a rent desk were very nice & friendly. We would stay there again with hopes things would be better.

Staff was okay, not as friendly as some other hotels. Elevators were painfully slow and often required some kind of maintenance. It had 2 restaurants attached, which were good. Also has 2 train stations within walking distance and the location, in general was very good. There were A LOT of very young people staying there was I was there, which made it a bit of a party atmosphere on the floor I was staying on; a lot of noise.

First day, had to vacate the first room, toilet was dirty and food in the fridge. 2nd room wasnt vacuumed. Both days we asked for cleaned rooms (while we were gone), came back at 7pm , rooms still not cleaned, had to vacate both times. being pregnant, after a long day, not impressed. Had to call multiple times for stir sticks, ended up going down to the front desk and getting them. Not very accommodating. The guy who checked us out was very embarrassed and empathetic and gave us a 50$ voucher for moxies.

Poor cleaning service, no warning at booking we needed to request housekeeping before 10. We did diligently anyway, the room was not cleaned on the last night of our stay. When we returned to the room, late one the evening, the cleaning sign was on the floor which indicated that someone opened the room and threw the sign on the floor neglecting to clean the room.

The room was run down, bathroom was dirty, no lotion - it was brought in on our last night of stay.

Elevators were slow.

The lobby, hallways are run down, and not clean.

Staff was not welcoming. On check-in, the lady kept repeating that I needed to “listen to her” - it was quite noisy in the lobby so I had trouble hearing to her “instructions” about the cleaning service.

This is not a 4-star hotel. We visit Vancouver regularly and usually stay here for about a week. I regret changing my usual reservation at Georgian.

It was the worst stay I have ever experienced. I found a mouse in my room, and they moved me to other rooms that were not clean. During the multiple room changes, I lost several personal belongings. I filed a complaint, but they told me they didn’t find anything. These were the worst five nights ever.

Good location close to Rogers arena and BC place. Restaurant was very good. The hotel itself was okay needs updating. The elevators were very small and very full. We had to wait several times or take the stairs. As I was travelling with a disabled person who had trouble walking and a dog with mobility issues it was not ideal.

The quality of the hotel needs to improve. I completely did not know this hotel is a “franchise”. Located in heart of downtown of Vancouver, i expected to have quality level similar to Hilton (but not all perfect). It turns out there are colleague kids stay there, their behaviors absolutely inappropriate that is similar being in a dormitory. Loud talking in the hall way at night. Also their bed got some kind of metal that cut off my UGG boots, which I don’t understand. I can stay i m a little regret to stay there. Lastly, the staff are too professional.
