The room was pristinely clean and had everything I need. The area was perfect and walkable to nearly anything you could want. The front-desk staff were very friendly and always greeted me with a smile. The only issue was some noise from one of the guests on my floor throughout the night, and there is a bar somewhere nearby that was playing loud music late into the night. But I was up all night anyway, so that wasn't too much of an issue in my experience.

Front desk staff were great. No complaints. But the hotel itself had this old moldy stench permeating throughout the building. On top of that, the windows were single pane so street noise was loud; the upkeep wasn't great; the toilet was tiny (men will understand this); and the shower had a lot of mold growth. Oh, and you have to stand on the bed to access the closet. I thought this was a boutique hotel in the heart of the city, but it's more like a motel on the side of the deserted highway.

I checked in around 8 or 9pm. By 5am I had booked another hotel (the Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront) and left. The person at the front desk was very understanding (I think the smell and noise are common complaints) and suggested I contact Expedia to get reimbursed for the 2nd night I wasn't using. Unfortunately my claim was denied by the hotel management. Honestly, considering the state of the place, I was not surprised. I just hope they don't withhold my deposit.

I do not recommend this hotel.

Excellent instructions and customer service for finding the suite across the street. Great last minute price and value! Within walking distance to all the fun stuff including Robson Street. Suite was a nice big 'apartment' for 2 adults; small kitchenette, full size bathroom with tub/shower and plenty of room, and what seemed like a generous king bedroom. Couch needs new cushioning (too hard and flat after years of use) and the bed was surprisingly hard (had a pillow top but harder than my hard bed at home).

The room seemed a little bit rough. Looks like an old place trying to be new. Some paint deficiencies like in the washroom, the vent was full of dust in the washroom, and the bed headboard had veneer peeled off and the colored it in with red. Lots of city noise. And the bed sheets we’re very crinkly and they sounded like a paper bag not very comfortable.

I really enjoyed my stay here! The rooms were very cute. The location was PERFECT, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. It's an old building to be sure, but very well maintained. I found it quiet and comfortable and would 100% stay here again. Only issue I had was fighting with the fridge not to freeze everything!

Great location especially if you’re going to see something at the Orpheum or the Commodore. Very reasonable rates. Friendly staff was helpful. You pay extra for parking but it’s close by, and secure. Bathtub some dodgy looking repairs from chips....
But nothing can reasonably explain the fact that the mattress had a large hole caused by broken springs on the left side - clearly visible when the cover was pulled back and unmissable if touching the bed. How is this a room worthy of renting!??
We reported this to the front desk and were assured it would be dealt with and we asked for our contact details for management to reach out.... more than 2 days later and crickets.

The room was very clean, as most reviewed stated. Very friendly staff! Check in and out was smooth. The only disappointing thing was the bed - it felt like a very old mattress, very firm and bowed in the middle. Clean bedding though. I would stay here again.
