The staff were the best part of our stay—very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. They allowed us to check in about two hours early, which we really appreciated.

Unfortunately, the hotel itself was not great. There was no clear air conditioning in the room (either it wasn’t available or the thermostat wasn’t working), and the room was very hot. I had booked a room with two queen beds but was given two doubles instead. Since there were four of us sharing the room, the smaller beds made it quite cramped, and we were still charged an “extra guest” fee.

The room itself felt quite small, and there was garbage on the floor behind one of the beds. The remote had a Netflix button, but Netflix didn’t work. We also tried connecting the TV to the internet to cast from our phones, but the network settings weren’t accessible.

There was also very loud construction happening upstairs during our stay, with frequent drilling noise. Additionally, the elevators were extremely small.

On the positive side, the location is excellent, with many food options and amenities nearby.

Overall, the staff and location were great, but the room quality and amenities did not match expectations.

Room appeared clean and staff were friendly. Our tv did not have a good connection the cable kept coming in and out not sure what was going on. Wasn’t worth complaining for us though. Room was very hot and couldn’t adjust the temperature to bring it down from 23 degrees. Staff said there wasn’t much they could do as the AC was turned off for the winter. They did bring us a fan right away though which was very helpful. Upon leaving we also a mouse run through the room which was a bit disappointing end to our stay.

Bathroom sink was out of the bathroom.. which was odd. And the hotel had parking but it was paid parking even for guests. Also the hotel was like a maze, was confusing navigating through the hallways. Ran into multiple people who had the same issue.

Love that you guys still have that rental car in the lobby, I did miss the restaurant but all good I know it will be there next time.

Didn’t receive notification that the pool AND the restaurant would not be available for the duration of my stay until the night before my check-in. The pool was closed in October for renovations but was not contacted until the night before check-in in December.
The location is great, and I’m sure things will be better once anticipated reno’s are completed. Bar was VERY loud every night especially between 1-2am, so much so that you could sing along with the music. Only night they are closed is Sundays (plus Christmas Eve & Christmas Day).
Elevators were packed with only 3 family members with suitcases and extremely slow. Lodgers need to tap key inside elevator to activate the lift, which wasn’t explained to some clients who had to be rescued a time or two.
Front desk was always busy with a lineup but it was over Christmas and there was lots of activity with tours, car rentals and customer service.
I loved the location. Nice walk to Chinatown, Gastown & downtown amenities. Approved pickup location for various local tour operators, negating the issue of having to walk somewhere to meet connecting transfers.
Overall, would recommend but be aware of buildings deficits that are not advertised. Looking forward to going back once renovations are completed.

Very reasonable hotel to stay downtown Vancouver , comfortable and away from noise for a good sleep.

Unfortunately no one seems to know there's a difference between a double bed and a queen size bed. I specifically booked this hotel because it was advertised as 2 queens in the room, after discovering inside the room it was actually 2 double beds I asked at reception and was assured the room had 2 queens..... Well I guess my arm width grew between home and driving to the hotel making the bed seem smaller!? (Not really, just falsely advertising double beds as queens).

Unfortunately the cleanliness was let down by the shower having random hairs spread around its floor.

Stayed 4 nights and our room was not cleaned at all, despite requesting daily housekeeping. We were also issued a parking ticket even though parking had already been paid for. We brought this to the front desk and were told it was handled and not to worry. Two months later, I received a letter in the mail stating the ticket had been sent to collections. Would not stay again or recommend.

Arrived to find hotel under major renovations in the lobby and pool now permanently closed. I did not see this on the Expedia website for the hotel. Very noisy renovations. Very. Bathroom light was out in my room. Staff attentive but no maintenance person available after 8 pm so they asked if I wanted to stay in my room or move. I had already settled in and chose to stay. FANTASTICALLY COMFORTABLE BED AND PILLOWS!
Unbeknownst to me, restaurant is closed for renovations. Unfortunate. This is part of the reason I chose this hotel (and I've been there before.) I had to walk 2 blocks to the nearest restaurant for supper. Apparently some breakfast available on mezzaine floor but I didn't bother and walked out to a coffee shop/bakery for breakfast. Unable to get any even slight discount on bill for the bathroom light problem, etc. because I had 'booked through a third party.' Hmm. Expedia should take some responsibility for not alerting customers of what was happening at hotel, etc.

Room was very hot on our first night, but we just turned off the heater and opened the window a little bit to let cool air in (although it was noisy with the window open as our room was facing the street). Good selection at the hot breakfast buffet.

The cleanliness was not up to par.

the sink room, had shaving bits, tooth paste spatter on the mirror, a used hand towel by the sink, the garbage from the previous guests.

the shower and toilet room, the toilet had defecate streak on the bottom, the shower glass had soap spatter still, the floor wasn;t swept as there were some hair balls from previous stays.

the bed had long hairs on the duvet still.

honestly i feel like it was just an off day for that cleaner and supervisor. Maybe they intended to come back and finish but forgot to?

I voiced these with the night auditor, cause I had checked in at 4, dropped my stuff off and met some friends with evening activities and actually got to my room at 12:15am. I've been on both sides so I wasn't expecting much of anything and since the night auditors are only there for the night audit. I would come back as it still felt clean aside from those listed above. the location is great walking distance to restaurants, pubs, venues and shops etc.
I will make sure to inspect my room right away before I do anything that way maybe can move rooms or have housekeeping finish the clean.

We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn Downtown Vancouver! We enjoyed our balcony, and the restaurant downstairs for drinks in the evening. It was central to everything we wanted to do. Will definitely recommend!

We loved the location of this hotel. We could walk to Canada Place within 25 minutes and there were numerous restaurants and coffee shops within 5-10 minutes walk. To take an Uber or taxi was also reasonable to many other places including the airport.
The hotel was lovely and the breakfast menu offered so many delicious options. Our room was a good size with 2 queen beds, a desk, and a table and chair.

I was in Vancouver for work and decided to bring my family along. We’ve stayed at Holiday Inns before — the one in Saskatoon was great, especially because of the pool and gym — so we booked this downtown location expecting something similar.

On Expedia, it clearly said the hotel had a pool, which was a big reason we chose it. When we arrived, though, there was a sign saying the pool was permanently closed. That was really disappointing, especially since it was supposed to rain all week and the pool was something the kids were looking forward to. If we had known, we would have booked somewhere else much closer to my workplace.

The gym was another letdown. It’s hard to describe, but it just felt damp and humid the whole time. Not pleasant.

Finally, when we opened the sofa bed in our room, the bedding was dirty with what looked like Dorito crumbs. I called the front desk and they sent someone up right away to change it, which I appreciated, but it’s not something you want to deal with after checking in.

Overall, not the experience I was hoping for. We’ve had much better stays with Holiday Inn before, but I wouldn’t pick this location again.

The front desk was not pleasant to speak with. They were very passive aggressive, and short with their responses. It’s like they didn’t want to talk to you, but was forced to. We stayed for a week, and it was like this every time. The housekeepers, and staff outside of the front desk workers were very kind though.

This was probably on level par with what I was expecting from a holiday inn in terms of value for money, location and amenities. Staff were helpful at check-in and were also accommodating in terms of my request to move to another room from my original room allocation (no faults with the room, but just a personal preference), however I do feel that a smile or a simple hello would go a long way to making guests feel welcomed. The room was clean and comfortable, however one negative (hence why not given 5*) is the noise level. The room is poorly insulated and the fridge would randomly start making noise… I eventually got used to it. Handy tip, travel with ear plugs.
The location of the hotel is ideal with walking distance to bars, restaurants and transport links.
I can’t comment on the on-site restaurant as I preferred to visit the nearby bars and restaurants, which are abundant in downtown Vancouver.
Don’t let the surrounding area put you off. I felt safe in the area and the hotel location is ideal for anyone new to the city.
If I had the choice, I would stay again here in the future especially based on the location and price.

Overall, we had a good experience with the property. However, our check-in was very disappointing. We arrived early(noon) and did not expect our rooms to be ready. The hotel graciously held our luggage and gave us a recommendation for lunch. We we returned at 2, we checked to see if our rooms were ready. They were not and we chose to wait in the lobby with several others while the staff readied rooms. Around 2:30 a line began forming to check-in so we joined the cue. Once we reached the front of the line we we were told one of our 2 rooms was ready and we could go to that room and wait and they would call us in about a half hour for the other room. After waiting for an hour, my husband returned to the front desk and was told our room was not ready still. This was disparaging because he personally witnessed several others receiving room keys. When he told the attendant we were supposed to have been called, he looked on the computer and then got the front desk manager. She then blamed the others working the desk for not calling and had him wait another few minutes. After waiting almost 2 hours beyond when we were told we would have a room, she finally gave him a room key. We recognize they were busy, but clearly our reservation and room got lost in the shuffle.

Pros- We were here for personal pleasure, it was super quiet, the beds were like clouds with how absolutely comfortable they were, the staff were very polite and helpful with directions as this was our first travel to Vancouver by ourselves.

Very convenient location with convenience stores, restaurants and fast food all within 5 minute walks, the CF pacific mall within 10 minutes.

The only cons we experienced was the wifi and the tv, we didn’t necessarily need it as we were out almost all day every day during our stay but using it for bed, our tv would static and black out in repetitive ways.

As per the wifi there’s a cast option that will connect you through to your room number wifi, this connection was extraordinarily poor.

Access from lobby to rooms is not convenient need to go through multiple elevators. Given the price paid, surrounding area is not safe, can see the dumpsters and graffiti from the room windows. Hallways dark and don't feel safe to walk in. Hotel receptionists are not very friendly.

Great stay !

This place was exceptional. Super comfy beds and pillows. Pool and fitness rioms were a plus. And they have an outdoor patio upstairs for lounging.
Staff were very friendly and I saw one guest super grateful because a staff had found his wallet outside and turned it in to the manager. Granville street is surely shady but good food to be found there.

The Hotel's customer service is terrible. For the price you are paying, they should hire more experienced personnel to treat clients. Never again staying at any IHG group hotels.
