There was no microwave. Whoever heard peppermint shampoo, cilantro conditioner, rum body wash, or vitamin B5 hand lotion. Have you ever taken a shower standing on cobblestone? I will never stay there again.

Such a cute renovated classic motel. Staff was very friendly and our room was cozy and spotless.
We had to take the stairs up to our room, so pick a ground level floor if that’s an issue.

Overall, we had a good experience staying at this hotel. It is newly renovated, and the hardwood floors were a nice touch. However, I was disappointed that room service had to be requested. We were not informed of this at check-in, and it would have been helpful to know in advance.

Perfect, very affordable Boutique Hotel! I love Santa Barbara and never had a disappointing experience at any of the smaller boutique places I choose, and this one was no exception. Very stylish and tasteful beautiful grounds and in a nice safe area although here are no \"bad\" areas in Santa Barbara. There are several restaurants a short walk and of course the onsite one I wish I dined at. Places like this are such a refreshing alternative to the typical faceless \"sensory deprivation\" decor you usually get at corporate hotels. I should only mention I chose the room with the pull-out sofa bed, Staff did their best to talk me out of it and upgrade me for free but I wanted the room because it was large and had a variety of furniture including a second sofa to lounge in. I can sleep on a brick floor so I managed but the mattress was a bad as they get with flimsy springs that collapsed down to the metal bars under my 180 pound body. I don't know that they were thinking providing that but Staff told me management intends to get rid of it and put in a normal bed. This was not the norm for the rest of the rooms. I stayed midweek as it happened on New Years eve having decided to break my drive from the Bay area in two and wait out the storm. Rates were probably rock bottom, but my room was about $140 less than another boutique place I often stay at right on the beach down at the harbor so if you're on a budget I highly recommend this hotel and save your money for fine dining.

The conditions of the rooms were fair. Cleanliness was just fair. The grounds and everything just had all the bins of dirty linens all over which takes away from the visual appeal. The lighting in the parking lot is dim at night. There was plenty of parking. For the type of property, it is crazy they charge $20/night to park.
The front desk staff were pleasant. Anytime the key cards didn’t work they were nice enough to always walk back to ensure the fixed keys worked. But it also happened more times than one would expect.
The weather didn’t really allow us to use the pool so no comments there.
All in all. A basic stay.

The Leta is a lovely hotel. The staff members were very kind, sweet, and personable. The restaurant had great, delicious options, and we loved that the pool was heated. It was a great stay overall. My suggestion for improvement is to please use some kind of Swiffer dry mop or vacuum hose to fully dust the rooms from the ceiling to the floor, and all the corners. There were many cellar spiders in the room that are easy to keep away if the dusting is done regularly. Also, the shower was nice and large, but the opening needs a curtain or door because it was very hard to prevent getting the floor wet while showering.

I stayed at The Leta for a solo birthday trip. The hotel has a mid century modern design with an old school station wagon parked out front. When I arrived, the check-in line was literally out the door (I came during a time when one of the towns annual events was being held). Despite that, the check-in process was still smooth. The manager gave me a complimentary bottle of champagne for my bday. The cocktails and food at the on-site restaurant was delicious. I ate there a few times, LOL. Both the restaurant staff and hotel staff were friendly and helpful; they gave me suggestions on what to see and do while in Santa Barbara. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I would stay there again.

The couch bed was no cushion. All springs! I could not sleep. I was up all night. I had a service dog and they put us in an upstairs room which was very inconvenient. I tried to get moved and they said they had nothing else. I would like to talk to management. It was the worst night ever and I would like a refund.

I was there for an entire week, and for 4 of those days there weren’t any room keys. The staff had to accompany each guest to their room each time they needed to return to their room. The staff was very friendly, and very apologetic. Gabriel, in particular, was outstanding. The housekeeping team ( although the room was kept clean) did not replenish coffee/ cream every day. The restaurant had to charge people on the spot without room keys ( instead of them charging the meals to their room), and I think this hurt the restaurant, as well. I feel the company or the tech service they used should have been more expedient in resolving the card key issue- and this caused too much stress for the fantastic staff.

Apparently many Hiltons had problems that weekend with room keys. Everyone had to wait to be let into their room every time they left the room. They handled that fairly well although at times we waited 10 minutes to get in. They, however, didn’t have the two rooms we booked weeks in advance. They tried to put 3 adults in a room with one king bed. They ended up putting 2 of us in room 204. Do not let them do this to you. Run away. It has a pull out bed that was the worst bed I’ve ever slept on. Once I got in I couldn’t get out. They should just go throw it in the dumpster. I don’t believe they didn’t have another room. It was so bad we got no sleep. Seemed like a nice hotel otherwise but that was ridiculous. I think they gave us a crappy room because we booked through hotels.com. Wouldn’t have found the hotel otherwise though. Also, it is a pet friendly hotel. There were pets everywhere. The regular room we got had a hole in the platform bed that the cat got into. Then we couldn’t get it out. Very frustrating. We had to have maintenance come help us. They were very nice but this seems like something that could be avoided.

Check In was an absolute disaster due to only 1 computer working and the computer system that was down was the one that made the key cards. So no keys to our room. I stood in line for an hour to check in and then was told my room wasn’t ready even though I had called before arrival to check. So we killed 45 minutes in their restaurant area. Then I stood in line again hoping my room was ready for another 45 minutes. When the room was ready, a staff person opened our room and to my surprise there was no bed, just a pullout couch. Listing was misleading. I thought it had a bed and pullout couch. It was very inconvenient coming and going due to the no key situation. Some had to wait in the line over and over to get their rooms opened. Lovely staff and facilities BUT I’d be scared to stay here again if they had this issue again. Backup plan is needed when technology fails. I wasted 3 hours of our trip just trying to check in.

Just the perfect, fun, easy location to visit a kid in grad school at UCSB. The music in the bar on Saturday was wonderful ... to sit by the fireplace and pool outside, look at the stars and enjoy the night with music was wonderful. It is a remodeled motel but done very well. Great location. Slept well on a comfy bed. Shower had GOOD water pressure ... a rarity in California. Bar is great. Restaurant is great. Take a deep breath and love the vide at this funky little place. Will definitely stay again ... until she graduates :)

A very wonderful hotel for those who can appreciate it’s vibe. If you are looking for a specific franchised environment … this may not be the place for you. Good bar, very good restaurant. Bring your swimsuit as the pool is amazing, and heated! Fun to have a few guest pooches to pet as you sip your ice tea or cocktail on the outdoor patio, or your private patio just outside of your room. Lots of food options nearby. The only “thing,” which I wasn’t expecting, was to have my bed for the night be a fold-out couch. I had a reservation for a room with a bed but got in late (yes, airline delay) to find the only room left was a “living room” with a couch-bed. It was okay for a night. If you MUST have a bed and are coming in late, call ahead and tell them … or you may end up with what they have left.

This was our second time staying here (first was two years ago). The property has definitely declined in terms of maintenance and cleanliness over the last two years. And the walls are unbelievably thin. If you stay here, pray you don’t have noisy neighbors!

Only ok- went downhill since first stay

This was the second time we stayed here and it was not nearly as good. The beds are comfy, pillows are good, window shades do their job. But the air conditioning is terrible. It was so so hot. The hotel prevents the thermostat from going below 68, but it was not 68 in the room. It got hotter and hotter at night- my husband thinks the motion sensor in the room turns it off when there isn't movement. The faucet and handles in the bathroom sink were in need of replacement- they were totally corroded and looked gross. The hotel rooms need some improvements. Lobby area and restaurant are good, service in restaurant could be quicker.
