So the plastic Cheerios containers had ants. I brought several of these containers back to my room. I didn’t realize there were ants on them, but when I looked at the bottom of them, there were ants how awful.

The kids screaming in the pool was just hideous, and of course, people are going back-and-forth by the door cleaning people not taking care to try and be quiet and kids once again yelling it was quite an awful experience left quite an indelible impression and on my last night there, I just got another hotel room at another place and return the keys and the next day. Just awful. And all the reviews said it was wonderful.,, that’s not true

Great place to stay - very close to all beaches - just a few minutes away. State street shopping district is 15 mins away as well. We had a mini apartment with 2 huge private bedrooms! Love the space!

We hadn't stayed at the Sandpiper Lodge in at least a decade and it seemed to have improved since then. We like the location due to its convenient proximity to Loreto Plaza, Farmer Boy, and (formerly) Jeannine's. I didn't sample the hotel's breakfast, nor the pool, but the coffee was good. My husband went swimming and liked the pool and jacuzzi, especially the latter. Our room (239) was comfortable and convenient to the pool, breakfast room, and office. Our only complaints: there was a construction project happening in the breakfast room and it was noisy and a bit disruptive. Parking spaces are very tight. Staff could be loud in the mornings, especially when slamming the door to the supply room right next to our guest room. As for cleanliness, the bathroom floor seemed questionably clean, but overall our room appeared to be clean. The body wash dispenser in the shower was completely empty, but housekeeping took care of it immediately when we called. Overall, we had a good stay and will consider another stay in the future.

We had a spacious, clean, quiet room with decent bed and pillows. Pros: great lighting, good shower, good AC, Great coffee. Cons: breakfast had no cooked foods, only packaged. All-in-all it was a good value.

My family and I had a nice stay here during Spring Break. We really liked that the pool was nicely heated and the wifi was working much better than when we last stayed in December 2025. Would love to see some more breakfast options added such as hot items and hot chocolate for the kids.

We got there, and check-in was super easy and quick. Staff were helpful and friendly anytime we needed anything. Parking wasn't an issue. Breakfast was the typical continental, and coffee was always fresh and hot.

The hotel room was spacious, clean, and had the amenities they said they'd have. The microwave and refrigerator were working. The only issue we had was with the toilet and the shower drain. The toilet didn't always flush, and the shower drain would have moments where the water wasn't going down. We got the family room, so we had three beds and six people, and we never felt crowded. My sister and I both woke up from different beds with red bumps on our chests—bed bugs?! I don't know. The hotel also wasn't far from the highway and places to go and see. Overall, a great stay for our families!

The breakfast was OK if you like breakfast cereal, and oatmeal there was some odd looking Croissants they toasted like toast but not might like croissants, but they did have cream cheese and jam. They had some yogurt. They had no eggs they had them sausage. They had no cream meat. But for a light meal that I guess is OK I’m very much used to the Holiday Inn express well breakfast.

The room was fine- the quality of the sheets were not great- but they were clean. Breakfast options are limited- no protein options. There was cold cereal, yogurt, muffins, bagels, oatmeal, and some fresh fruit. There was juice and coffee to drink. Food was good, just very limited options. Pool was pleasant- clean and lounge chairs were decent.

This is an older hotel, there is a lot of wear and tear. The doors face outside so it’s loud you will hear cars and people. That’s a given. With that being said it’s clean it’s comfortable everything in our room worked. Shower, toilet, microwave, refrigerator ac unit. Clean sheets clean pillows and clean towels. No bed bugs because other reviews mentioned them and I checked. I stayed for two nights and it was adorable. The breakfast is basic, coffee, bagels, cereal, juice. It’s a simple affordable clean hotel. Would be ok staying again.

It's a budget motel so there is only so much you can expect but for the price we paid this is very good value for money. Plenty of choice for breakfast, a pool and hot tub, the room looked like it has recently been decorated. Very much recommended and we would definitely stay here again.

The rooms were clean and I'd like to the fact that they had a lot of pillows. The only thing I would say that would be nice is a fan in the bathroom. You can open the window but there's a chance somebody could be looking in on you in the shower on the toilet. I enjoyed the continental breakfast. They had Otis spunkmeyer muffins and yoplait yogurt and other stuff but that's what I like and I ate. Also, the person doing the continental breakfast was on it. She kept replenishing and cleaning and doing a really good job. The air conditioning was great. I went to another hotel right after but in Anaheim. I was expecting better because it was a Homewood by Hilton. Severely disappointed.

If you’re getting 2 beds I recommend asking for room 220 it’s the best and it’s fully renovated. Has a living room and 2 separate bedrooms plus a walk in shower.

room was clean, got fresh towels each day! staff was very friendly. pool was perfect temperature for myself and my 6 month old to enjoy, and the hotel had towels in the pool area so you didn’t have to use the towels from your room. breakfast was good and simple. area itself was good, very walkable to restaurants and shops. the only “downfall” was the parking lot. it filled quickly, and the spots are tight, limiting the space I had to get my daughter out. i noticed a lot of big trucks taking up more than enough room.

Afternoon check-in receptionist was very confusing to me explaining how i was being charged . Other than that room was very clean , roomy with microwave and Mini frig.Pool was heated to perfection and hot tub also. Breakfast was Basic , breakfast room very clean and organized. Easy to walk to several restaurants and less than 5 min drive to many more and a grocery store. Downtown shopping is 10 min away and the beach is 12. This is a great hotel with simple but clean rooms and grounds. The pool and hot tub were relaxing and the staff was friendly. I came with my family and would definitely stay again.

It was fine for a place to sleep in Santa Barbara for the price. Room was dim with poor lighting (not really possible to read unless you sit at the desk). No usb charging ports, which seems rather outdated. The 'breakfast' was bananas, cold cereal, cheap bagels, and packaged oatmeal (without water hot enough to turn it into oatmeal, lol), so I would argue that's not worth advertising that you provide breakfast (we skipped it). Enough eating options nearby to make due, but you have to drive to the real 'downtown' restaurants and bars. It was clean, though, and we mostly just needed to sleep and shower; if that's all you need, it will work nicely.

It was disappointing that the continental breakfast was not a continental breakfast only oatmeal, cereals, milk, and coffee. I expected a lot more. Not so much that I expected a lot more. I expected better like it previous hotels that I have stayed at that have breakfast included, and they have eggs and bacon and all that good stuff.

If it wasn't for one issue, it would have been a completely avaerage hotel and average stay. Iput the do not diarurb sign on the door, and my family and I left to run around. When we came back, the do not disturb sign was in the room on the table and hotel staff had clearly been in there. Nothing seemed to be missing, but the fact that they went in, even with the do not disturb sign on the door, is not okay.
