Bed was really super hard. It felt like the springs were coming through the bed. Due to the pool being closed, workers parked their truck 2 steps directly right in front of our room and were very noisy. I probably won’t stay there again.

The Garden Suite and included breakfast was perfect for a trip with teens, who actually wanted to make midnight mac n cheese in the suite kitchen. The staff was very accommodating when they went hunting for butter. I was surprised, but the well appointed kitchen had everything they needed. I only docked a star because the mattress wasn't super comfortable and the breakfast muffins were terrible. So not perfect, but what is? We will stay again.

Staff are customer oriented and friendly. The rooms are clean, and there is a nice patio area in the middle in addition to an appealing pool and jacuzzi area. In the mornings, the hotel provides hot coffee, tea, a variety of juices, muffins, bread, yogurt, blueberries, and creaks, definitely enough to start the day. Perhaps the best feature info the West Beach Inn is its location as guests only need to cross the street to get to the beach area and a little further to State Street with its ample selection of eating and drinking establishments. My wife and I chose Santa Barbara Roasting Company for coffee, Dargan’s Irish Pub for Guinness, and Playa Azul on Santa Barbara Street near Canon Perdido for a wonderful Playa Azul tostada with halibut. It was so good that we had it 2 days in a row. I’m already wondering when I can make a return visit to Santa Barbara.

We have stayed in a number of hotels when touring California. This is an average 3 star with the basic set of amenites in the room. Reception was prompt and we were allocated a first floor room. It was clean and had a reasonable bed. The shower was quite low pressure and there needs to be some more storage space. Free Parking is available. The breakfast arrangements are quite basic, and needs more variety. The hotel is next to a busy road and we were occasionally woken up by noise outside.

The hotel was right in front of the boats, which was really nice, close to the beach.Had the north suite.Only thing we can improve on is to make sure we have keys to get in through the front door being on the north suite had to walk around just to get in.I don't like ringing a doorbell and having to wait on someone for them to open the door. Breakfast was nice when I came down.The only thing is, I had to pretty much ring the doorbell again.So I can have someone open it up because people inside, I understand that are very weary of anyone.Trying to come in, if it's locked. I think we can try to improve that entrance.A little better rather than having to ring for someone to open the door for us.If we have key access already, I feel like we should be able to tap and be able to have access to that hallway.

It was ok, it was a decent place to stay. Nothing spectacular. Good thing is we came late and there was someone there to give us our key. The room was a bit stuffy and the windows do not open. I would suggest at least a microwave in the room.

Be aware of a couple of things: 1) you can hear other people in other rooms. 2) Rooms could use more vacuuming along the edges and corners of the carpet… was not a fan of seeing years of dust along the perimeters of the carpet in the room. 3) Also was not a fan of how much mold there was in the crevices of the windows and air conditioning. The front desk with their flashlight informed us they were not informed they will have a blackout. Ask for refund and girl said she has to inform owner. The room for handicap was not as comfortable. We are not handicap. The beds are much lower which made it difficult to get in and out of and the shower felt odd. We tried not to let water get all over the floor since its an open floor for wheelchair access. For a handicap person the setup would work. It didn't work for us.
