The definition of hospitality! I called after making my reservation to confirm my special request not to use a certain cleanser in the room, as I'm highly sensitive to it. Not only did a wonderful woman confirm on the call, she also emailed me to say she would let the housekeeper know. Upon arrival, the manager, who was friendly and accommodating, handled my check-in with professionalism and care. And yes, the housekeeper got the note, and there was no evidence of the cleanser. Communication and care by hotel staff is the best when traveling, and these people are 5 Star! The room was immaculate...THANKS to everyone. I will be back again!

Had a good stay. Need quiet for I had a post op dr apptand dark rm. The hotel allowed me to change murder ation because I needed to be on the first floor. Immediately my needs were taking care of.
Also they allowed me to leave my things until after the Dr appt. Thankyou Innat East Beach.

The location was fantastic. A very short walk to the beach and partial ocean views from the room. We brough bikes and walked them over to the beach cycling/walking trail that connected directly to the pier, State Street and harbor. We cycled everywhere and never got back in our car, which was great!

However, the property is a bit run down. Though there was a remodel a few years ago, the paint and flooring were chipping off in our room and the same in common areas like the pool area. The beds were very comfortable, room was quiet and we really enjoyed the fireplace in the room, so overall we would stay again, would just like to see better upkeep of the property.

Except for its location near the beach this place was as low level a motel as I’ve ever stayed in worse than any Motel 6 it was dingy. I had to pay an extra $15 for parking. They told me it was all on one floor. They don’t have an elevator and I had to take a heavy bag up several stairs and worst of all the shower wasn’t working in the morning. It was terrible. I would never stay there again

Got multiple bug bites. The heater was so loud and making a horrendous sound that kept me up all night. I eventually turned it off at 4am because it was driving me crazy. So the room got very cold. The people next to me were screaming at 5am. Basically I got no sleep. Very thin walls.

Not what we expected based on online pictures. Room odor of faint smoke and musty. Questionable maintenance. Premises had cracked not repaired concrete around pool. Railings and gate were rusty. Within 5 min. I asked for refund. Called Expedia and honored the full refund. However, The Inn refunded 3 of 4 days. Held 1st day since we “checked in”. Ppty manager difficult to contact after 4 messages left. 2/6/26still trying to get resolution.

The room was fine although dated and abused some.. the little patio was not clean which detered me from going out there. The shower seemed new and was good although didnt match the sink area which needs redone. The bed was fine and the decor was cute..
The daughter of the owner didnt quite know what she was doing and i was charged $65 for some reason after pre paying and then was only refunded $50. ????
Overall it was fine for our group that decided to book us there as small, quaint and cheap but i would not stay there again as so many better options near for same money.
And the fact they took $15 for no reason seems a bit sheistery..

We were in SB for a dinner and decided to stay over night. We’d stayed here before and it was lovely. We were able to check in early, which was nice but the room we got wasn’t clean. It looked like they’d started to clean, got distracted and walked away. The front desk moved us to a different room but the fireplace wasn’t working. The manager was very nice, came and confirmed it wasn’t working and called maintenance to fix it. The maintenance man said it was clogged and he couldn’t fix it for us in a timely manner and arranged with the manager to move us again. When we turned on the fireplace in the third room, it did work but it desperately needed to be cleaned. So much dust and lint
It’s a cute little motel near the beach but needs a massive facelift/renovation. Walls were patched and not painted, floor boards coming up, mold on the bathtub and near the ceiling, no cushions on the patio furniture, room furniture scuffed and not repaired, curtains torn.
I give two stars because management was so nice about moving us and calling maintenance. Otherwise it would be 1 star. There are so many options for motels in that area that have been renovated and brought up to date, we won’t be staying here again.

Besides outdated and dilapidated, the room’s floor was not clean and we had no heating in the room…the fireplace / heater would turn on for a few seconds then shut off…there’s no one at the front desk after 10 PM so you just have to deal with it…although the location is close to the beach it’s hardly to the standard you’d expect…the pool was clean and warm, which might have been the only highlight.

Good location and very friendly staff—especially Jay at the front desk—but the hotel itself is in extremely poor condition. The first room we were given hadn’t been cleaned at all: trash on the floor, unmade beds, and used towels. We were moved to a smaller room that didn’t match what we originally booked, and even that room felt worn down and dirty. Bathroom flooring was coming apart, corners were filthy, and the shower had mold and cracks.

Outside the room wasn’t better. We found human feces in the parking lot in the evening, and it was still there the next morning. The property overall feels neglected, with rust and lack of maintenance everywhere.

Staff members like Jay are doing their best, but ownership must not be giving management enough investment into maintaining this place. Not worth the price, and I wouldn’t stay here again.

Upon checking into our room, the bathroom toilet was running, making a very loud noise. I worked on the toilet and determined the plunger was bad, but if I adjusted it slightly by had after each flush it worked.

Two of the main lights did not work, and one light flickered whenever we sat in the bed. Wish we’d checked the bed when this happened. Instead we changed and went to dinner.

On our return we went to bed and felt something crawling on us. Busted out a flash light and found both dead and living bugs (see photos) of two different varieties. Chat GPT says it’s an ant mimicking spider and noted the right legs. Really hoping they’re not bedbugs.

Expedia helped cancel the following night, but wouldn’t do anything for the one night. We decided to leave for another hotel. Glad I purchased trip protection. Will try filing a claim.

We showed up a bit before 4pm and our room wasn’t ready. We left to run an errand, came back a little before 5pm and our room still was not ready. When we finally came in, there was NO AC. The lights flickered. The floor was still dirty since the manager told the lady to just mop and not sweep. It smelled like cleaning products so bad because they did not air it out, I ended up getting sick. They only removed the $15 parking fee (we were there for about 12 hours). When I complained to hotels, they called and the manager lied and try to say we were late (despite us having picture proof and proof of when my card ran for the deposit). This was supposed to be in prep for my wedding and this made the trip a poor experience

This a great spot for people looking for a clean, comfy, no-frills, retro vibe. Nothing fancy, but I wasn’t looking for fancy. A sliver of ocean view was a plus, as was the Farmer’s Market (more like a small grocery store, complete with snacks and beer) within walking distance.

Easy access to beach/Zoo and waterfront. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean, but needed some TLC i.e., torn and missing curtains, screen on one window was broken, grab bar in shower was loose. Also, didn't realize there's no AC in the rooms. Got hot in the afternoon. Thankfully it was cooler at night and the rooms have a ceiling fan. Had to keep windows open though and heard a lot of noise from the freeway and train.

Very happy to have found Inn At East Beach! Pet friendly, clean and beautifully located. Minutes walk to the beach. Rooms are not fancy but everything we needed. No AC, which was challenging but the hotel provided TWO fans which was perfect. Will definitely be coming back and staying again.

No A/C and worse than that, the only way to get air is to leave the windows open. The windows do not have safety locks that lets you open them part way. Makes it easy for someone to cut the window screens and enter. Speaking of safety, while the doors are solid, the locks are cheap and easy to break. They look like they were installed about the last time the place was remodeled, about 70 years ago

Clean stay

The check-in was smooth. The pool is nice & clean. Our room was spacious with a nice home touch to it. They have pastries & coffee in the morning which is nice. Overall I'd stay here again

Run for romance stay for desperation

The room was disgusting, stains on the bed, chair, and furniture was damaged and old. AC off for the entire hotel. Fan spins and swings as if its going to fall + loud squeaking noise. Yellow stain on toilet lid. The colors of the room is nice. If you are going with your boys and freinds, or desperate, this place is the spot. If you want romance or going with your wife, run away. 300$ spent, left on the spot with wife, no refund due to 48hr notice. Bye bye.

Owner was nice. Good location. No AC. No amenities. No screens on windows. No privacy on ground floor. A gardener working on the backside of our room was looking in the bathroom window. It was like staying in an outdated beach apartment. The whole time we wished we would have booked the Motel 6 next door instead.
