Was sick and couldn’t make the reservation (knew the day before), understanding it was too late to cancel but no credit or anything offered and a bottle of wine was supposed to be complimentary but no effort to get it to us via set aside, mail etc.

Oh well, I’m sure it’s nice just another place that doesn’t have a personal touch, might as well be AI handling the front desk (which it will be probably in a year).

Starting with check in, Jeremiah and everyone was so welcoming. The check in process was very quick and easy. The room was very clean. Bed was on the softer side, which I loved and the pillows were great not too soft not to firm. There are plenty of amenities included in the stay, wishing I got to stay just a little longer to enjoy everything the Milo has to offer. Oh yes and the guys at the valet 10/10.

The worst hotel we have ever stayed in. An exorbitant amount of money for a terrible experience. I had knee surgery recently and a HOT TUB was my priority--doctors orders. We arrived Thursday and they told us the hot tub was not working but would be fixed on Friday. It was not. It was NEVER fixed for our entire stay.
The other reason we needed a vacay was because we've had construction next door for 7 months. On our first morning there, at 9 am, loud electric hedge clippers were being used right outside our window for an 8 foot hedge. No sleep and more construction sounding noise.
We had to ask for shampoo as the maid left an empty bottle in the shower.
They didn't leave an extra roll of toilet paper in the room and unfortunately, while on the toilet, the paper ran out. Very awkward situation.
We feel we should get money back for this trip. Something. My knee is not in good shape as I could not use the hot tub, and all the other problems. I give this hotel a 2**

The hotel is a converted motel in front of the Main Street in Santa Barbara a short walk from the pier and the docks. The furnishings of the hotel are nice however the noise and lack of amenities are a serious problem. There is no building and the rooms are setup motel style where you will hear people outside your door walking around or heading to their room all night. The walls are very thin we heard every zipper from the suitcase next door, the conversations and weird banging. The street noise with cars with loud mufflers driving by also woke us up multiple times. The hotel has a nice pool but no service for drinks, no bar, no official restaurant on site. I can see people enjoying their stay if they are going to enjoy the location and don’t care much about noise but for those expecting an actual hotel experience I would look elsewhere.

Overall a great experience staying at The Milo. Great location, great ambience, friendly staff, clean rooms etc. There are two things that could have been better:
1. Mattresses- very old and soft, n bouncy springs.
2. Window shades/blinds - these were almost sheer and couldn’t keep the lights out at all at night. The room was quite bright (from string lights in the lawns), even after pulling the shades down and even covering them with an extra bed sheet, which made it difficult for me to fall and stay asleep. Not a problem if you sleep with a night light on, but for me, it was definitely an inconvenience.

This is our second time staying at the property. It has gotten a recent refresh and the rooms are very well appointed clean, and the remodel is nice.

Be sure to check the hotels association with some of the local restaurants as you get various discounts and free drinks if you stay at the Milo.

The location of the Milo is second to none literally across the street from the beach and at least in the summertime so long as there’s not wind, they have the ingredients for s’mores that you can make out on the patios.

My family and I will be back. There’s no question about it.

My wife and I upgraded to a larger room. The room was light and bright, but the bed was way too soft, and the room is along the main roadway, which made it quite loud. I shared this concern with the front desk staff and they were kind enough to reduce one night parking fee of $40. In our travels we feel that this room was fairly overpriced. I would have to think again about whether we would stay at this establishment in the future..

Pros: The location of Hotel Milo is perfect! Right across from the ocean/pier! We borrowed bikes from the hotel and biked along the bike path. The pool was almost empty so we were able to use a nice padded lounger. A guitarist performed on the hotel patio and there were drinks for purchase.
Cons: The room was super small, had an uncomfortable mattress, had a huge plate glass window in front of the bed, no chair to sit on in the room or dresser to place your clothes.

Hotel was an easy walk to State St, the Funk Zone and directly across the street from the Bay and Wharf. Though on a very bust street, noise was tolerable. Staff was incredible, especially Jeramiah at the front desk who went above and beyond to satisfy our room needs.

I paid for ocean view room, over $400 dolars a night. The room was next to the coment area,there were people sitting by fireplaces and TALKING until 2 AM. The room was on bottom floor with apsolutily no privice and NO OCEAN VIEW !
Really bad service, no help.

Loved The Milo hotel. Would’ve been great to have more time to enjoy this place.
We were in ground floor unit which was very convenient. Unfortunately, the people staying upstairs must’ve been a family of elephants who didn’t like sleeping. The stomped around all night at odd hours which kept us awake.
When asked how our stay was at check out, I joked about the unfortunate neighbour noise. The staff member didn’t even offer a laugh, let alone an apology. A disappointing end to an otherwise great experience.

Very convenient location right on the beach. The pool wasn't heated and was a bit chilly, but totally fine. We had the corner unit on the 2nd floor, which I loved. We did have an ant issue in our room, but the staff came and sprayed both outside and inside right away. Pet friendly. The receptionists were extremely friendly and gave us detailed information about all the property perks. The valet staff were very friendly as well. We loved the free bike perk- they even had a small bike for my little one. Will definitely go back again.

Milo is such an incredible place. Front desk staff and valet staff are amazing. Every staff member I talked to is super kind and helpful, above and beyond customer service! I’ve stayed three different times and will always rebook. Rental bikes are a blast and the pool was gorgeous. Book the upgraded ocean view rooms, highly worth it. Get room 1301 for a phenomenal experience!

Over many stays, there have been things I've come to expect, I mean, they have been there every visit, like a dresser. My clothes were everywhere because there was nowhere to put them. There was a wardrobe with five hangers, but no shelf or drawers for folded clothes or delicate items.
There was no desk or table, and the comfy chairs were gone, too, as were the phone charger and clocks.
The heat didn't work, and the new drapes are thinner, so they didn't block out outside noise as well. There is a lot of noise out there.
Just not the same.

1) I have loved and enjoyed this place for many years; however, this last trip failed to meet the standards of previous trips, which took time and money away from other parts of my stay.

2) On every previous trip, there has been a phone charger, a dresser, a note pad, tissues, and a desk, but these are no longer available. Can you imagine even a low-budget motel not offering a place for folded clothing?

3) There seemed to be a lot of noise this time that I do not remember from previous trips. It may have something to do with the thinner drapes, though the drapes did block out the light very well

This is supposed to be a high end hotel but they need to improve on the details, Asked for a late check out at 11.30 and got a 11.15 answer??, paid $40 for valet and they game a another car and had to figure out where mine was, got a coffee and they have run out of lids, reserved a regular room and got a accessible room and no one told me at check in. Just details but when you are paying big bucks you expect something different.

We got the family suite and it is tiny, I did not expect to be that cramped in for a family of 4. If I would have known I would have gotten 2 rooms. They need to put more pictures. I felt bamboozled. The hotel is cute and in a good location. But I felt they were stingy with their supplies. Room had 3 towels 1 toilet paper, yes I know I can ask for more, but it’s common sense to leave extra supplies the more guests there is. The bed was hard for me but fine for husband. The kids did not sleep good in their bunk beds and they said it felt claustrophobic in that small “2nd Bedroom” more like a closet makeshift bedroom. I would not stay there again, but their customer service was great.

The property is in a nice and convenient location, and the overall setup is quite pleasant. The room itself was clean and well-maintained.

However, there were significant noise issues that affected our stay. We were assigned a first-floor room next to the ice machine, and the noise was quite disruptive. We could clearly hear people walking upstairs, and the ice machine itself was extremely loud, especially late at night and early in the morning.

For a rate of $450 per night, this level of noise was not what I expected and made it difficult to rest comfortably.

The hotel is right by the beach, and there are a couple of good restaurants a short walk away. But other than that, we had a very poor experience here. The room seemed updated but carpet was dirty. We noticed several ants. No elevators. AC made loud noises randomly, so we had to just keep it off during the night. The worst part of the stay was the extremely noisy environment - starting as early as 5-6 am in the morning. There were loud metal-like banging noises, violent door closing sounds, seemingly from hotel staff, along with people talking loudly. Then there were very loud construction-like sounds. Road noise was there as an add-on as well. It was just a horrible experience. We brought up the noise issue to the hotel staff as well, but the lady at the front desk blamed it on the restaurant next door, which clearly was not the sole source of the issue. If the area has construction or any other noise sources (like the restaurant), the hotel web site or reservation system should clearly state so to let the traveller(s) make an informed decision on their stay. We had hoped to extend our stay at the hotel at the time of check-in, but we decided against it because of our experience. Never plan to stay here again.

There were a few ants on our room each day, which was noted to the front desk. Cleaning service tried to come clean our room
The first day at 9a and had to tell the 2x to come back later. The next day our room was cleaned by the time we came back at 1p and had to ask for it to be cleaned, seemed odd to have to ask when they tried to get us out of bed the day before. Asked for a late check out on a Sunday and was denied 2x. There were a lot of kids on Saturday night so it was rather loud and could hear them running around. And lastly they offer s’mores but don’t seem to have enough for each room so we were out of luck 2 of our 3 nights. Seems odd to not have enough for each room.
Overall outside looks nice and room is small but renovated but don’t think it was worth the price to not get all the features they promote.
