This is our 4th visit to the Secret Garden. The courtyard where you can eat breakfast is absolutely beautiful with all the flowers blooming. Breakfast was delicious with very fluffy croissants, fruit, quiche, fresh baked bread like pumpkin bread, and coffee and tea. The rooms are charming.

While I'm glad there's available parking, the parking area is a tight area that makes getting in and out a bit tricky. Sometimes, you need another person to navigate you out of there.

Sweet cottage with charm and personality. Not just a boring hotel room. We had two rooms to spread out. Pretty gardens. Lovely staff who accommodated special dietary requests for breakfast.
Note that it’s a drive to the beach and main shopping. Not the most convenient part of town but walkable to some shops and dining (like McConnells ice cream).

The accommodations are quaint, charming, and comfortable. Some family members were in the main house and other family units were in cottages. It was perfect for our needs. We felt at home and welcomed. The breakfast was gourmet faire and absolutely delicious and plentiful.

Breakfasts are delicious, and location is very convienent to most of what Santa Barbara has to offer, a great and quiet walking neighborhood too. It is important to note there is a sweet cat named Peanut living there, but if you have allergies, be aware!

Did not get choice of rooms, as was last room...but did not care for Bobwhite room, inside house. It was back to back with only other room for rent in house, noisy inconsiderate travelers...but also was right next to kitchen...so no sleeping past 7 am...when Host began meal prep. Also did not like using bath right next to outdoor patio where literally everyone stood mere feet away as you tried to...anything...not cool at all!!! Would nor opt for that rm!! Also, no good ventilation, a ceiling fan about to fall on your head, or an extremely noisy window A/C...bed! Agh!!! It was advertised as a Queen, but is more like a sad double. Literally spent an hour the next day looking for anywhere else to stay!

Secret Garden was a treat. Initially we wanted to stay closer to downtown but glad we opted for the unique and romantic choice of the Garden Room at SGIC. We had a private garden with blooming flowers and a loveseat on a deck to enjoy outside of our room. The bed was amazing and we slept great. I wish I had gotten the name of our host but she was very pleasant. Bfast was inquired about the night before and delivered on time and each day included fantastic quiche w fruit.

The breakfasts were great. There is a free onsite parking lot via Sheridan St. The Secret Garden is very conveniently located.

They have the best personalities and you feel right at home and cozy and it’s so clean and beautiful! The food is five star rated! A variety of food and with special accommodations if needed.

Cute private little cottages, friendly staff. The rooms are very small, and a bit out dated, but comfortable and clean nonetheless.
One thing that made me a bit uncomfortable is that I was getting ready to go sit in our jacuzzi on our private patio, and a staff walked right into the balcony without knocking or anything and just started cleaning the jacuzzi. What if I had been enjoying my patio or jacuzzi in the nude? You’d think knocking would be a must!
One other small complaint is that the walls are thin, so although it’s a private entrance to each cottage, you do share walls and can easily hear your neighbors.
Otherwise clean, nice staff and cute little garden to relax in, they other breakfast which is nice but they only serve quiche and breads so you may want to plan on going otherwise for breakfast anyway. They do have yummy baked treats in the evenings though, the brownies were good!

This is the perfect place for a quick little stay in Santa Barbara, it's close to the town center and beaches but away enough that you feel in your little world, the place is clean, the staff is great, they offer hot beverages and pastries around the clock, it was very nice coming back after the theater and being able to have a cup of hot coco. Beds are super comfortable and rooms are cosy. Watch out for the cat, she can be super friendly one minute and turn on you the next, but we were warned ;)

Injury and No Partial or Full Refund
I made reservations for three nights, but had a bad fall and fractured my knee cap. I am in a immobilitzaitio splint and cannot drive. I asked for a refund or a partial refund because I could not be there becasue of injury and Domonique absolutely refused in no uncertain terms to refund any of my money. I was shocked and disheartened because I have been there several times. Needless to say, I will never to there again.

A really delightful place to stay, beautiful gardens, pretty cottages, in a quiet neighborhood, with a delicious homemade breakfast, and big room. The only reason I don't give it five stars was due to the bed and pillows not being quite as comfortable as I'd hoped. Also it's a bit of a hike to get to State Street, which is fine, but for some reason I thought it was closer to the center of town. That said - plenty of private parking and easy access to e.g. the Mission, the highway, etc. I would go back and I would recommend it to others.

It was a quiet oasis in the heart of Santa Barbara. Each cabin has enough distance between it to offer privacy without being isolated. The cabin itself was clean and comfortable. The full complimentary breakfast was very good and off-street parking a nice addition. The WiFi was a little slow at times but definitely worth the price overall.

My boyfriend's Mom was dying Wednesday and I called to cancel, because you would think there would be exceptions. But I was told and business is business! We had a doctor's verification and because the property was sold out she probably would of booked it again. Even offering a partial refund would of be understanding. Needless to say when we book again we won't book there!!! Heartless!!!
